  1. Apply here! Post your player name and ID. Deadline for applications: 10th of November. Some rules: - Statless, tokenless, comboless, knockout tourney - Allowed creatures: Recruitables (NML, MB, NC, LR) + Imps, Sharptroopers, Soulweavers, jokers, Blood pacts and anniversary aramors. - Only mind power 5 this time. Rewards: - First place: WP, 100 water from King Nad, " " trophy (description and name to be made, you can play with the suggestions. With it, we will also probably give a name to this tourney) - Second place: 4 gc, 75 water from King Nad - Third place: 2 gc, 50 water from King Nad Distribution of players: There are two big branches to reach the finals. (For visualization purposes, check upper and bottom half of this representation: http://i.stack.imgur.com/UOMVI.png). People from same land will be spread in different branches as much as possible, priority is with people from same alliance though. I will use the dices in a public dice casting at GoE to determine who fights whom. Order of determining who goes where will be in order of applying here. Since I will play too, consider my application first :P First dice cast will determine in which of the two branches do you get (even number - you go to the upper branch, odd number - you go to the bottom branch). Second dice cast will determine in which pair should you join. There should be 2^x pairs. We probably won't be able to place everyone with a pair ideally, so some people will skip the first fight - those will be the players with youngest (highest) ID. Depending on the number of participants, certain rules will apply for the second cast. Example, there are 8 pairs in each branch. (16 pairs in total, 32 players... yes, that will never happen) I will use the 20-sided pair of dice. First number determines the first cast, second number the second. To have equal chances to get each pair, I will only use numbers gained from 1-16, if I get 17-20 I ignore those and cast the dice again. (if one number is legit and the other isn't, I keep the legit one and cast again for the other, and look only the place of its cast, example I get 15-20, I recast for the second number and get 5-10, I look only the second number 10, I'm not interested about the first one because I'm looking for the second number) To determine in which pair will the player play, I calculate the SECOND_NUMBER mod 8 = A, where A is in (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7). 0 counts as the last (eight) pair. Anyhows, if after a while I start to determine against whom is player X playing, and I see that there is already someone from X's alliance in the upper branch, I automatically assign him to the bottom branch. Same goes with people from same land in general, but like I said, same alliance has priority. If the same alliance people meet eventually, one will have to drop the badge, and my default recommendation is for the one with lesser amount of loyalty points, but that can be agreed with the two participants. People with No Homeland are not considered to be from same land. When is it taking place: End of November probably, but prone to changes depending of any specific requests by the participants. ------ Sorry if I forgot something, I will update the post and make a separate post to let you know of any updates in that case, I spent too much typing-time on the distribution part :)) Post applications here, any suggestions/comments post on the other topic here please: http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/16647-annual-statless-tokenless-tournament/
  2. Sponsorship has been granted, WP and a trophy for the winner, coins for the 2nd (and probably 3rd) place(s). If the response is good - it will indeed be annual, or to be more precise, once per 6 months (nothing definitive, that's my view at the moment). Give me a few days and I'll make a new topic with the system, details, and to open applications.

Not now, it lasted just a minute or so, some sql error, after the announc.

  4. Aeo's post #14 with screenshots and my 12 point ss before it are already counted by the system though. Just saying preemptively :))
  5. Hmmm... I seem to hear something, coming from Aeoshattr...? But I can't see anything, he must be talking from nightmode... :P p.s. this test torch was a good idea and is doing its work, infos and exploits keep pilling up
  6. Marind Bell defying the odds and travelling to the less-cool-side of Bob.
  7. Here's something to get you started, amazing 1 point scored by me, beat that!
  8. Yep, sorry, just remembered I could test it by making someone else apply it on me. Ungod helped out, and the item indeed works (just doesn't work on yourself, which doesn't need to get updated)
  9. I only got them recently temporary because Nad is dead, not sure did he ever try doing that before, I hope he'll see this discussion. The interface is not reporting any illegal action though
  10. BoL signing papers don't work, at least I can't apply them on myself, didn't wanna experiment on other people... x) When I say they don't work, I mean I don't see the results, I click and do the 'magic' without problems.
  11. You are big in your victories, King of ill-intention! How long can you keep at it, Will you make it go on until your pension...? You forget about the shades, And they will show you how hope fades! Even your kind they lurk, Their due sacrifice you always shirk!
  12. Doesn't leave much room for interpretation, so someone might not enjoy this poem in the same way as with many of these beautiful works in the topic, but I hope these crude words prove to be tasty for some :) "Behold this spirit of light, Held in deathly grab tight! Bring him back to life, And end this darkness-caused strife! He dwells by water, our King Nad, By all that's holy, restore the vigor that he had!"
  13. It's a corrupted version of "does (or does not) hold water"... :D Meaning if it does, it's a stable solution/answer, if not, it doesn't (because there's as a hole and your answer doesn't hold water, etc.) I know you are a busy man, so it made perfect sense to me that you just ran through it superficially and made that response. Knowing you so far, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't bring out that chaoticboost similarity conclusion in your right mind :P So if you say you did read everything and dismiss my words, then I dunno, maybe you wanted to provoke with such an answer, getting replies, knowing it's a sure way to remind you of the topic :D Whatever, I label it as not serious in wider sense (not that you were not serious). If you care about my preferences, then just be open and honest, as brutal as it may be.
  14. I must assume things, how do you expect me to function. The idea lost on actuality since Eon went away, and also considering there are only few of us now. But can be interesting if that glorious day for MD comes. Unusable resources indeed are not being used, I didn't like the whole thing to begin with, too chaotic. In here though, usability is clear, it is very specific. Back in the day, this would show tangible purpose. Or maybe I'm just too biased with my ideas, whatever :P "Low response" and "meh idea" can drink water, and I can accept that as a response, before I pile up a huge reply of my own. "Similar with chaoticboost" is not a fact though, I brought a most benign interpretation of why did you post something not serious as such, I have no idea why does that bother you. Politely putting it "what you say is nonsense, but it's justifiable, no grudges". If you insist next time I won't publicly assume anything and I can say it "what you say is nonsense", however I invite you anyway to assume the rest of that chain of thought and not get offended :P Your latest response leads me to believe I was right, because now you are referencing the idea somewhat properly and that enables a decent discussion (or ends it decently, to put it better)
  15. @No one: True, but it's not an often case that new people know about perpetual balance, some didn't focus that much on fighting but despite that managed to get in a melancholy over their negative stats or the fact that they are losing too much. Once you see all the big stats, I for one hand get demoralized about my training. It's nice to present an alternative for someone to embrace his idle-training with a smile, and focus on non-combat stuff until a time comes for the... Sniff? Anyhows, you get what I mean. It can't match the regular hard work of grinders, which is desirable anyway, but it gives you some kind of opportunity. edit: plus, back in a while, there were people with skill damage like Eon, then you couldn't afford to idle because he was really... hard working? :P
  16. I think Chewy just didn't take good time to go through the topic, other than the fact the both are affecting stats, there are no similarities. Also, regarding a common player chaoticboost is mostly for fun spell I think, while the drug effects would influence a lot of stuff and trigger domino effect and hit hard.
  17. It could be mainlands only indeed, and then other players would be 'hired' to play for certain lands maybe, perhaps even supported by the mechanism in some way. Or as you say distributed by the GM. But not sure will those people outside the mainlands like it and approve.
  18. Lol about those quotes :P Anyhows, torch is awesome, and I didn't get to brainstorm on a whole bunch of rules, but some main points I think must be included in every idea: - there are too few people for every land to have a capitol. Even while it was mainlands only it had some unbalanced stuff and lands at disadvantage such as MB, but when you add Underground and Established housings you simply can't stop there and must add MDA, Tribunal... Who knows, maybe even Labyrinth... :P 2 factions only is kinda boring... I vote for having 3 factions in the torch contest. So either 3 general teams, or all lands fight for 'qualifiers' in some other contest to be considered in those final 3 each time Torch contest needs to happen. Maybe a statless tourney (haha :P). - much of the mechanism stays actual, with some upgrades as to prevent people from influencing the participants with overpowering spells such as teleports - participants being immune to teleports? - adding whatever stuff was mentioned before in the annoucements (keeping track of all players that took a torch, where they are, what's the score, etc.) - some clarification on the point system and the rewards, what the hell was that all about before??
  19. Like the title says! PM me if you have one to bargain with, I'll offer a few silver coins. I need two of those creatures.
  20. So standard statless rules, but adding some creatures: Recruitables (NML, MB, NC, LR) + Imps, Sharptroopers, Soulweavers, jokers, Blood pacts and anniversary aramors. I'll contact the treasure keepers, ideally I would like to participate myself, but if that doesn't work, I'll just be the sponsor for now. It will be a knockout tourney, and the pairs will be determined by dice rolls inside the game. People from same land will be put in different branches of the tourney tree, avoiding to meet each other as much as possible. (doesn't count for those without a homeland) Start preparing, I will leave some time for that, but not too much, no more than a month. Will make a new topic for applying and full details later.
  21. I was thinking about those newspapers several times in the last period, and I would like to be a part of that. I want to make interviews, and make all the touchy questions! Infamous reporter, feared by all the celebrities!
