2. Tarith - what did you do to wipe your entry? SS had same problem.... I can fix your file, but need to know what clue you got.
3. Yes, actually he has already pointed this out to me. Was an honest mistake. Stil, he passes, the wp is now likely to go to darkraptor.
4. Well, it looks like the wp goes to Eon, unless somebody cares to do an alt-check and come up with something. 5. Go visit the Dentist's Office. New quest.

Maebius

Had a bit of fun with watching the others work on this. Great job, mister Techie! ;)

6. Is all you want for Christmas to keep your teeth, after all those sweets? Then you're in luck! Mur has donated a number of gold coins we could use as fillings, and I have opened up the MDA Dental Office in the hut north of Wind's Sanctuary. Everyone (or at least the first few dozen) can come by and get their gold - and maybe their wish! Contest..... As usually with Fyrd's work, things are in a muddle. You are going to have to uncover 10 magic enchantments and use them in sequence to get your gold. One enchanted phrase is given randomly to each player so, really, this is all about "sharing" during this Holiday Season. Go to the hut north of Wind's Sanctuary, use password "LOOK" and follow the signs to the Dentist's Office. Rules.... First to finish gets a wishpoint if eligible, otherwise 5 credits. The first few dozen get a gold. I probably won't shut this down until it becomes too easy.... certainly not until after christmas or if I run out of Mur's gold. Don't make me explain the rules about using alts to benefit your other accounts unless you really don't know.... I will have records of who got which enchanted phrases. Special prize to anybody who actually guesses one. Ha! Unlikely! Sponsorships welcome - so you might get an extra "toy" after you leave. [Edit: Sharing is one thing, spoiling the fun by giving it all away is quite another....]
7. Currency per se does not count as a resource. So Tipu is the first entry, with a score of ONE.
8. I want a morph, and would spend credits to get one, so it is a way to generated much-needed revenue for MD. Is it in the best interest for the realm, beyond the finance question? I like the idea of things getting gradually less rare, but only if they are replaced by other rare and mysterious creatures.
9. Okay, I get it now, let's continue with Shadow's example: He sells off or otherwise gets rid of 14 lumber, outside the context of the scavenger hunt, then mills 2 new ones. yes, this would count as one item, provided he could prove to everyone's satisfaction that they were NEW, even though he actually had a decrease in count. More examples: Start with 10 lumber, mill 10 more, sell them for 2 gold. Only 1 gold would be considered "earned" and thus eligible to trade for more resources within the context of the scavenger hunt. Continuing. Mill 10 MORE lumber, and that 2nd gold becomes eligible retroactively. Mill 1 MORE lumber, and this counts as an item itself. Again, all provided you can prove to everyone's satisfaction what you did, and that you EARNED the wishpoint, not "just bought it".
10. Udgard - yes, any resource increased counts as one item. Maebius - yes, that would count as a score of FOUR, provided each of those was either new, or increased. Shadow - I think we can look at net transactions. If you earn back what you traded away, then you're not "buying" a wishpoint with prior holdings. Similarly if you harvest a resource, sell it for gold, then use THAT gold to buy a resource, you can see that as equivalent to just harvesting and trading. The principle is that you simply must have "earned" the resources you are claiming during this period, not bought them with prior holdings. And be prepared to explain it all to the peanut gallery to justify that you "earned" the wp, not bought it. If one resource is "tainted" by commercialism, simply exempt it from your claimed "finds" in the scavenger hunt. We want a measure of your EARNINGS from the scavenger hunt period.
11. 1.5K lumber is just ONE item. Score is how many DIFFERENT items you get. Okay, so you must either harvest it yourself, or trade something you collected to get it. No buying. No barter for things you already had. Be prepared to explain where you got everything. Original post edited to reflect these changes.
12. Who can collect the biggest variety of resources, beginning NOW. To play: 1) Take a screen shot of your inventory NOW. These don't count. 2) Take a screen shot of your inventory LATER. Only "increased" resources count. 3) Post a claim on this thread including the number of different resources you have gained. Include screen shots to establish time stamp (or send them to me by PM). 4) If somebody later posts a supported claim with a larger number of resources, they take the lead. Winner gets a wishpoint. I will ask the peanut gallery (and disgruntled competitors) to review logs to be sure you didn't just shuffle things around with "friends" -- that you actually either harvested [s]or bought [/s]all such resources. [Or traded things you harvested during this period for other resources]. Just to be clear - I will allow unique things like "roswood plank" or "flask of sand" to be considered resources -- anything that can be used in crafting -- but not finished goods like "wooden drum" or "glass bottle". Unique items are much harder to get than herbs, water, and flowers... [Emply memory stones count as one item, enchanted ones don't count at all.] And of course, the runners-up get to keep all their own stuff. All I want is screen shots. This contest will end when no further posts for a week, or beginning of Christmas Day. Winners determined by review shortly after.
13. Umm, confuse us some more Seig. See the note Passant got (top of thread)? [I see your conditional offer to sponsor 3.5 hr AFTER this thread was started. Was there something else I missed?]
14. Passant is in the pinch point here because he did what I told him to do, which is what I thought Seig told me to tell my people. The totally surprising response he got, and then asked me about, is why I started this thread. I applaud Passant for trying to clear the smoke. Unfortunately the smoke is really tar and the more you wave around, the more sticks to you. I think we got clarification on TK policies -- identify quests needing rewards but don't suggest what those rewards might be. That should end this thread.
15. I have no "codes". I have 19 wp's in "committed" pile to be assigned. These were committed/cashed-in per the public request/announcement when the TK leadership changed. About half were given me by Curiose as a direct request by you, Mur, shortly after the heat-vein creation. The other half were given me by Lifeline shortly before his retirement, to continue sponsoring my quests. I personally have ample rewards for my own quests (Thank you!). This thread began in reference to the meeting Seig held regarding TK sponsorship, and the aftermath.
16. Seig, that is absurd. If I can't ask for a wp code, what is the point? Also, the initial posting of a contest needs to include what the rewards are going to be. Sponsors SHOULD be found before the contest is announced.
17. Seig, you asked us to encourage our alliance members to form quests and go to you for sponsorship. I did, he did, and this was the reply he got: Quote: Passant, Normally, I would reject this immediately on the grounds that I do not want people asking me to sponsor their quests or even suggesting rewards. But, I was going to anyways. So, head this warning. Seigheart Unquote. What the devil is going on? p.s. I think it very inappropriate to demand that we use regular e-mail to Treasury@MagicDuel.com, as this opens up all sorts of RL personal abuse issues.
18. I'd like to nominate Esmaralda, Duxie, and Passant the Weak for Adventuring awards. Also, Mya for Helper award.
19. I believe Mur has expressed a certain professional detachment that he not interfere with social dynamics and in-game issues unless they threaten to destabilize the game and become "outside/above-the-game issues". Do I have this right, and does the council adopt the same policy stand on this issue?
20. My MP6 strategy of recruiting adepts by helping those who were new and needed help would of course no longer work with the 100 day limit. Even then I had to work hard to keep 30-35 adepts active. The drop rate is huge. I never used an alt, but some of my adepts hinted they might be alts of people I knew and not to ask too many questions. I think my fans supported me as long as I was doing a good job of helping and healing. But, it's a lot of work to be a good protector, and a lot of work to keep enough adepts. It stopped being fun after awhile. Glad, I was, that others wanted a turn at it. I still help those who ask, of course.
21. Okay, the hedgehog bolts into his hole. The gap kept widening, due to the efforts of several contrarians - who may share their opinions elsewhere if they please. Will have to go about this another way. Thanks for trying, especially duxie and Hedge. Mods, please close this one.
22. So, I'm getting some serious push-back here including several well-reasoned objections. And the gap has worsened by 10 points in the first few hours. Plus I've lost a couple points stat damage from Eon. So..... this whole thing may have to be revised (i.e, the groundhog might just dive for sanctuary soon..... we'll see). p.s. Duxie has done best at about 18 victories donated, but then again, I've already awarded him a wp..... aargh.
23. There was a time when I was a reliable training target. Then as stat damage loomed, I began to hug the sanctuaries. I have reset, and now must make a choice between grinding or further expanding upon the Lost Path Adventure. If you know me at all, the choice is obvious. So - a contest. I will be out and about a lot through the holiday season, perhaps through groundhog day in February, working on my enchantments. If I get 945 more victories before I get 901 more losses (I'm at 55-99 win-loss right now), then this "Groundhog" will NOT see it's shadow, and remain out as a public target thereafter. However, if the shadow of stat damage looms again, this groundhog will head for the sanctuaries again. Prizes? I think the player who can claim the most victories dealt out deserves a wish-point, don't you? This is a contest, after all, and the gauntlet has been thrown down. And I will find suitable prizes for any reasonable runners-up - down to say 10% of however many the winner gave. Please count 'em yourself and post claims here. I will only spot-check. BUT - there will only be prizes awarded if this groundhog does NOT see his shadow and bolt for sanctuaries again... btw - my usual defense is just me, Fyrd the Joker, on 10% slider. But if not enough people get into the spirit of this, who knows what nasty old monsters from the ID will surface to defend me in times of stress.....
24. Is there some sort of timing on when the system does a broad check? I mean, what triggers the event?
25. Duxie became the second to find the Spirit Axe in the East (.. some time ago actually).
