1. 99) Eon is really a conspiracy by DST to get more people trying to join the Underground alliance (to avoid stat damage).
2.
What can anyone do alone to Eon?
Umm.... befriend him? Or..... impress him. Or..... annoy him..... or......

http://magicduel.inv...g-alarm-button/ A button to clear a long queue of fight alarms.
4. After being abused in a public place, I have dozens of "whack alarms" that keep on sounding, days later. There have been "bug" queries about this before - it's just what you get. How about a button that lets you reset the queue of alarms?
5. Okay, everybody agrees there needs to be more team-work. Here is an added incentive. Anybody who successfully organizes a group activity such as..... -- Using a cauldron device -- Using the needle on a perceived villain -- Getting a training session together -- Hosting an event -- Getting a bunch of people to do something together ... and then.... Gives an interview to a member of MDA or other competent chronicler for a "People in the News" piece, that explains what was done, how it worked out, and the implications ... will win at least 1 gold coin, plus 1 silver coin to each participant. ALSO may be eligible for a wp if they can convince ME that their action had a positive impact on the culture of the realm. Prizes last until I run out, give up on this offer, or otherwise need to make a change. So there it is -- go start communing together! Go team, go! Rah, rah! p.s. Has to be something not yet FINISHED as of this post. History is great, but I'm trying to encourage new things here. The guiding principle is - we want to encourage our readers to follow your example. So, if you want to do the interview about something long past, your efforts will still be rewarded in some way, but hopefully the prize will be of lesser importance.
6. I don't want to hijack your thread, but I'd love to have people write "MD themed" lyrics to their choice of christmas tune. I'd go so far as to run a contest..... Your thoughts?
7. Also, based on announcements, the punishment was more for doing what Mur specifically requested not happen (monopolizing tools) prior to him putting in place safeguards he had planned -- than it was for the actual activity. Now that those safeguards are in place, the rules seem to be, do whatever the game interface allows, which ought to be the norm. p.s. -- I understood that what Nad was originally doing was making tools available for MB citizens to use (they are MB-only in function) even though said individuals were not available at the reset. This prevented non-users from grabbing the tools and leaving MB with none. This would definitly be in the spirit of getting the tools into circulation for use. What Nad stands accused of now (was there a trial?) is a bit different from what I thought publicly was going on.
8. 9 sent Take 'em and I should be able to get you 9 more... which would make 26.
9. Hula time! And when we get tired of the beach, baby, we can go back to my place and I'll show you my etchings. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
10. [Edit - sorry, I wrote this below before realizing there was a second page of posts. Hence, it is not as original as I thought it was. still.....] So, to whom should victims turn to for support? In this realm, the choices are: Mur The Council The Kings Fellow citizens Alliance Leaders Fellow alliance members Mentors/Protectors Fellow adepts of the same mentor Friends LHO system Recognized power figures in the game General community outrage via the forum So the question in my mind is, why are none of these social structures sufficiently strong as to stop the victimization we're all hearing about? Yes, such needs to be stopped. Why are none of these things stopping it? I could even understand if the community polarized into camps along philisophical lines -- chauvanists vs. feminists or whatever. But I'm constantly astounded that we continue to act as a bunch of individuals, and thus seem able to act without responsibility or reprisal -- if we lack a conscience in the first place.
11. I think the user should flag their own entry (not kings). It should become invisible only until a Mod addresses the question, and edits it (or not) -- at which point it is treated as any other PL entry and could be edited by the author again, etc. Regarding english language skills of the moderators -- there are many of us linguistic types who would be happy to craft a euphemism for a mod seeking advise, once they identify a true problem entry.
12. A lot of things can be by surprise, but things like vet medals that honor a player's regular participation should NOT be dependant on winning the "time lottery".
13. I have been blessed by Mur with additional treasures of many types, including wish point codes, to continue making the realm a more exciting place. This is a limited supply, so you should always check with Royalty first for wish point codes. Failing that, however, please contact me if you need sponsorship for one of your quests. I will be particularly interested in supporting anything that adds depth and excitement to the realm, or enhances our community. So... let's party! p.s. - Can anybody help me break up big gold notes?
14. I have recovered much of the ground lost when the evil Queen and Princess blocked off my entrance to the Spirit Underworld. I have made contact with at least 15 of my lost creatures. Please, somebody go save them by "LOOK"-ing at the Labyrinth sign. Yes, I know, the evil pair have thrown up another barrier at the MDA gate. Many of you can't even get to the Labyrinth now. Try using a spicy pickle.... ASK!
15. A word alone should not be offensive. Yes, there are certain topics which are taboo in MD because of the younger minds about, and cultural issues. But talking ABOUT a "bad" word, and using it gratuitously as window dressing, are two very different things. A good rule of thumb is that any word simply included to add emphasis to a dull sentence by dragging in "cursing" overtones, is not really necessary, or in good taste. re: UK vs. America -- America is a very diverse place. We must also pick and choose how "hot" our language can be depending on the audience and setting. And WE assume that BRITS have more sensitive ears..... I'm guessing that having foreigners about puts either of us on good behavior.
16. Phantasm, your post is rather confusing on a sensitive issue. I do hope you are are not suggesting that victims of sexual harassment leave MD? Your post could easily be interpreted that way, and I suggest you clarify it.
17. Let me add a complaint about SilverTounge. The 100 point heat limit per step does NOT go up when this spell is used. I'm a pretty "brisk" fellow, and SilverTounge only increases my briskness less than 50%. I'm capped at 100 heat per scene without the spell, and capped at that same 100 heat per step with the spell. Older players tell me there did not used to be a cap. I was taken in by the spell description saying certain things WOULD happen to heat gain. Looks like I wasted a wp for this spell.....
18. The automatics will kick in and prevent certain kinds of transfers, based on IP. Of course, a third friend at a different IP solves that.... It seems to me that this is a case where "alt abuse" would be flagged only by human intervention, and you SHOULD be given an opportunity to prove that you two are not alts (via human contact). You might even wish to document something in advance to the council so that you are permitted in advance. Of course "should" and "will" have a lot of gray space between them. Good luck - blaze that trail for us!
19. You can document the events of the time. The document then becomes historic as well as the event.
20. Off wandering again. Probably back Thursday (EST-USA). Might find a magic portal or two to peek back at y'all while I'm out and about...
21. While it is unpleast for others, it does make sense that I, as a long-time MDA citizen can just walk through all those high-ap gates in MDA as if I had a key or something....
22. So, we quest coders just need to get busy and adapt! I was getting pretty bored with nothing else to do anyway.... (Back to the drawing board, keep smiling, don't panic, think happy thoughts, look for the silver lining, make lemonade from life's lemons, wear red so the blood doesn't show,......) ps. There are always pickles.... well, usually.
23. That too would be hilarious, CoS.... How about we play "guess who I am pretending to be?" Winner is whoever guesses the most correctly, over the course of the party.
24. I too am not in a position to judge the internal workings of the LHO system but I recognize this cannot be a democracy. Corporation maybe, with people answerable up the chain. Up until now I've seen no failure on Grido's part to deal with this very difficult job. The handling of the Phantom Orchid episode was a real prat-fall, as you should never, ever treat volunteer helpers that way. Everybody is watching and that public humiliation thing has obviously demoralized everybody. The ripples from this will echo as long as MD lasts, and this event did not add to the realm's longevity. People make mistakes. I'm only disturbed that Grido does not appear to be learning from this one - or even admitting it was one on his part.
