well i know it sounds weird, but hear me out.
I want to give a public page for a player, like a diploma, that will state my personal opinion about that player, and other important people too, such as shoeps or some main rpc/s.
Example diploma will state about a player that he is for example a very talented artists, that he solved dificult puzzles and in what way, that he is a loyal player and its able to integrate well with others in collaborative play, and so on. This page will include a lot of personal information too, info about the player psyhological profile based on his activity in the game.
I am not sure if i can explain it right, but i sure feel the need of doing this. I want this to be like a mark of a true MD player, because some legendary players will walk away with personal problems, others will simply give up in time, and important people will become lost in the history of MD without having something to remember them. This so called diploma, will be what I (and some others) will have to say about that PERSON not only about that player.
I have no clue yet how it will look like, or if it will be connected to rpc roles only, probably yes, because it will be more easy to get a rpc role than a diploma , at first.
You knwo those sites that you do a IQ test and then you can post a small image showing that score in your forum signatures, emails etc? Or the stupid sites that tell you "how much you are worth"? well i want that sort of thing ... lets call it a MagicDuel style IQ test...or TALENT test.
I dont know what on the net can put all your abilities together and show them as an official record that you are that person. MD can gather a lot of such data based on your activity.
I think the real MD game is actualy a test for all of you, from the simple activity days that show your loyalty and involvement (not only towards the game!) to the quests that you solve, or not. And a successfull test should have a diploma to should of what you are capable.
I also hope that like this i will keep a strong group of people together even if they wont play the game anymore, maybe even have them communicate together in real life, why only the game.
What do you say, will it work? what do you say, should i go on with this? you see it possible ? or it will cause a more elitistic community with new players rejected by older people with 'diploma'.

After scrambling up some words and suggestions here, I came up with this.

It took me a looong time to decide weather or not this thread deserves an answer. It doesn't but on the other hand maybe it's time to clear some things and enlighten you a bit once and for all.


Let's start with a bit of history: Shattered was created for me. I didn't "work/plan/etc" to have it. To me it was "perfectly perpendicular" (as we say in RO aka it didn't matter) if I had an ally or not. My goals were different by the time I got SI. So, because Si was created for me I became Role Leader. I guess you all know what that means. If not then maybe you should check the announcements (hint: look for DS and simplyzero). --fail no 1 for former CoE members

SI is a bug testers/game mechanics alliance. I know things that few know and I dare to say I am very good at doing my job. You underestimated my intelligence and my potential. --fail no 2 for former CoE members

You are willing to trade SI for CoE. And you were "kind" enough to give me a hint on how to achieve that. The answer to this needs to be elaborated a bit.
First: you underestimated my friendship and loyalty. I would have NEVER EVER asked Eon to give SoS back to pipstickz so I can get SI back and you can trade for CoE. I would have simply moved to SoS and waited for your next move about SI. When I would have gotten bored by SoS see my first paragraph and you will understand what I would have done.

I showed you what I am made of. I am not a whiner and a beggar. I took the matter into my own hands and ALONE I handled it (ok, not completely alone since Eon morally supported me all the way and I have to thank him for that). I got my ally back through my own powers. I didn't make forum posts complaining about the issue. I never came to any of you asking/demanding/begging for my ally back.

[b]The Elucubration Creature[/b]

Elucubrations are very friendly creatures. They so friendly that they won't even fight! They do however participate in fights out of curiosity. At some point i needed a creature as a guinee pig for my wildest experiments so i created this one. The b/w version is a HALLOWEEN collectable creature, while the colored/premium version is still highly unstable (wild features such as jumping from owner to owner, multiplicating, eating candy, laying eggs and a lot more). The reason it looks slightly different than the other MD creatures is that the sketch is done by me and i am no 'Artist'. I consider this to be the friendliest creatures around and represents for me a sort of pet. The Elu always takes care of its offsprings with most care. The most important thing for them is to provide their little ones with candy. Candy is THE best thing that can happen to such a creature. Elucubrations think they can fly, so you should never tell them otherwise..even if they don't always succeed, they think they can fly, and that keeps them happy. Don't get fooled by their dumb face, elucubrations think differently. They might not understand simple things but they understand feelings better than any other creature..and in the end..thoughts are made of feelings to express feelings. When elucubrations are angry they will run away, write random stuff, or eat a lot, thats why currently i keep these abilities unfinished Elucubrations love colors, they think that colors are the soul of candy so colors should be good. Offer flowers or something colorful and they will be very happy about it. Careful, they eat flowers but can't digest them. Elu enjoys collecting colored paper or on some occasions it even produces it out of plants and natural dyes. The colored paper collection of this creature represents its most important achievement. This paper can be collected by the creature owner but that would make the Elu very unhappy. I wish elucubrations were immortal, sadly they are not, they die of loneliness or sadness, A happy elucubration however lives forever.

Hello MD,

Nearly a year ago, on Day 316 of last year, I rooted myself into the ground and became as you know me now, a tree.

In celebration of the first anniversary of that date, on this next Day 316 I will be hosting a smallish celebration. Any and all are welcome.

I'm viewing this less of a celebration of myself... and more an excuse to gather people together to have some fun and plant a seed (in all ways) or two.

There are no conventional prizes to award, at least that I'm aware of, but if you'd like, stop by during the day, and join in.

As per usual, there will be:
Stories
Poems
Discussion
Bizarre humor
Bad puns
And games.

As an added note, I would also like it to be the first time that I bear fruit. To accomplish this, I am going to organize a ritual (details and specific time to be announced later). If you would like to participate, come in person and/or bring any of the following: water, fenths, herbs, stones, heat stones, lumber, words, phrases. Hopefully with this organic material and the dedication and words of a large group, something may take place.

If you would like to plan anything additional, feel free. Post here, and I'll add you to this first post.

With the new MDA entrance cost a player needs at least 39 active days before they are able to enter. (Without any tricks to gain AP and visc at -80) Therefore new players won't be able to get their papers. Is it supposed to be like that? Over a month of active days without being able to get your papers seems a bit long to me.

I think more could be done even in black & white to make them more readable. Headline/Bold the beginning of each attack and indent the rest of the "paragraph".

There are many different ways you could code the color - many of which would be non-intuitive to some players, and confusing.

This sikness of humanity to blame symbols for their actions is something i have no intention of dragging into MD virtual world. Avoiding the use of certain symbols because certain people understand them wrong, means perpetuating this sikness and further hiding and tainting the true meaning of things. As i hope you do realise by now, md has nothing to do with jews, arabs, nazis, christians, you name them, so that symbol in THIS context has nothing to do with any bombing or personal grudges whatsoever. You might find it disrespectful, and it would be, if it was outside MD borders, but its not. I respect symbols, its the only way to understand their meaning without freaking out and getting confused of fake meanings. Otherwise people think the pentagram is the sign of the devil, and such stupid things.

I have no intention of 'educating' anyone regarding symbols, but dont consider it disrespectful that i dont bow to their ignorance and perpetuate it. Should jewish people freak out same out that the symbol on my book is basically the same in nature with the half moon? there is a difference between being blind and chosing to close your eyes. If you truly hate something, whatever it is, learn about it better that that thing knows about itself first. Maybe like that you will realise how pointless most grudges are.

none of the symbols used in md are used because of any of their cultural or religious meanings (in the sense _you_ understand "religious"). Symbols have value, that value was (ab)used over time. Religions or any culture in general didnt invent a symbol to suit their needs but united the meaning of a symbol with their ideology. Only later people saw things like a six pointed star as jewish and a cross as christian.

The named symbol is however taken from a context, context that has nothing to do with MD but i picked it for its SYMBOLIC MEANING not for its cultural meaning. At that time it seemed appropriate, but i do intend to clean it up and make an original representation, to avoid unwanted connections.

Symbols are symbols. How they are used depend on people, like weapons you know. The symbols i use, or accept to be used, in md, are there for their symbolic meaning and never ever for their cultural meaning in any way. Its true that sometimes i avoid using certain symbols because people will stop understanding and will simply freak out. On the anniversary aramor i wanted to put the swastika, not for its cultural/historic meaning but for its "clean" meaning as symbol related to the sun. Just imagine..just imagine...
I used an other, more obscure symbol pointing at the same thing, its just less tainted so to say. Sadly one symbol i cant really replace, and thats the christian cross, so, when you will see things you think they have a religious meaning, remember what i said.

Please note that Adonai appears in the old testament, which is the basis for many religious groups.
Without offense to the jews, there are about 13 million of them, but there are 2.300 million christians who also believe in the old testament, so if at all, it's a reference to several religions, not just one.
That it's an Hebrew word doesn't make it a Jewish word, just because hebrew is mostly spoken by jews _today_.

PS: I'm neither religious, nor do i care for political correctness, but i kinda freak out when people call a star jewish and a cross christian. There are too many layers of history and meanings over almost all symbols to accept such 'simple solutions'.
