[/quote] yeah. current system rewards hiding - and activity limited to hiding yet deeper in viscosity. it was not accident that last HC most scoring participants were just slowly climbing Tribunal - and last BHC Labirynth as pretty popular :-P I am trying to find a way to reward activity - not ability to stay awake dugged deep in some high viscosity hole; alert in case somebody would manage to climb viscosity and take heads Example: 4 HCs ago I was participating in HC (until I learned about rewards difference for 1st and remaining) and would most probably enter phase II in strong 2nd position (I believe 10-20% of leader's score) without fighting a single fight

[/quote] Hence recently there is exactly one runner for 1st position - in HCs and last 2 HBCs. Of course it is doable... But, as many other things, it would work (fierce competition) with much bigger community. Using the same argument HC should take 1 day - all is known by then and remaining days not only bring no new developments - but often just prevent ppl from any participation whatsoever.
  4. Current HC/ BHC rules reward highly persistence (a few days of very high activity; mostly 'on hold' to be able to react to attacks; well hidden heads holders). Last Clash of the Lands event was very well suited to this setup - especially with viscosity feature (team competition). It would probably be more dynamical if more people participating - but last few HC BHC there were just a few players involved; my guess is that's it's pointless to even try to participate if there is obviously no chance of winning with work and some time to sleep. As a consequence competitions are very static - and exhausting for a single player who wants to make sure he would win As alternative I propose to prepare an HC schema to be employable in BHC competitions, that rewards more activity than time spent online somewhere hidden: 1. heads would be awarded for attacker and defender - for won fights (victory of simple win), lost for lost fights (sheath or simple loss) for fighting 2. only fights between event participants would render heads 3. each fight between participants would give/take one head - even if defender had many or 0 (but heads number could not become negative) 4. only one phase - corresponding to phase II today; set for specified time or specified score (see remarks below) 5. if defender has no crits for fighting all their heads would vanish (but: illusion spells would have to be blocked) 6. the score would be the number of heads, no other score 7. no free heads (heads regeneration), heads number would go down for the time logged off/ not at specified location (to make sure there are event participants not only during their hunting time; could be disregarded if suddenly some huge number of participants appeared - the only reason is to prevent situation when there is only one fully active participant any given time and is desperate to find any other participant logged off to prevent loosing heads) 8. heads owned would affect only attack, defense, power, and initiative (the goal is to reward attacking activity rather than time online one may spend healing crits) Remarks: 1. some points above I wrote to avoid majow abuses (say 5 participants signing up going together deep in Tribunal); there may be much better solution preserving the idea but without forcing participants to be sitting ducks (i.e. automatic teleports every 2-3h, similar to solution employed by Eon last BHC) 2. the above holds especially in light of new development - Eon's skilldamage

[/quote] To the best of my knowledge, very few people entered NV since it became opened with high AP entry barrier (that has just been ioncreased 500->666). That would be myself and Lone Wolf (tourism was not major issue here). There were also 2 Necrovions opening Necro (and accidental entries happened with ppl then entering and getting trapped). LE: I have just learned about one tourism trip; still short from major attraction :-)

I did enter NV with higher number of AP recently.... I think I can manage in terms of AP - but am not sure how to understand that NV is closed. would entering be accptable - or announcement should be understood that it would be not.

Finally - one may enter but should be prepared that with no agreement between humans and Shades regerding NV access, Shades may react... unfriendly?

  13. With new shared tools concept herbs got depleted - and in current framework will probably remain depleted in most locations. To allow for [u]real [/u]access to resources some concrpts could be considered: 1. shared tool returning to pool with specified probability after use (i.e. basket with 1%) 2. harvesting tools available for mp4+ (ITC and grab lock) 3. each land have specified law about number of resources left (i.e. not below 50%); each time character violates the law warning is issued; specified number od warnings over period of time results in tools locked (see above) for the character for specified time Point 3. was not nessesary so far with limited number of ppl controlling tools - they were interested in keeping resources getting replenished. With multiple tools available to all such a strategic thinking of all involved I would not expect - 'grab all I can now or somebody else will'

  17. Well... If WP is awarded for a quest etc it may be considered a grey area... I also understood that some contest (i.e. Broken Pattern) cannot be entered by alts - as alts cannot solve it independently from main. With WP for active days I believe it there is no grey zone - no real original work by player to get them (for any char). Still please confirm it - if items transfers between alts is allowed with no limitations (and I would also assume Broken Pattern multisolution would be allowed) then I would regret I didn't give more days to my alts and from now on 20% of my MD time I will spend logging in to dozens of alt accounts I created or plan to

People do not leave MD on their own - they are either saved by exorcists or are fully in alien control and no further adjustments are nessesary

  21. I guess it may be a long going discussion what is worth awarding WP, and what is not, that I missed due to my age... I can only assume that as MD is supposed to stimulate creativity and 'out-of-the-boxness' it would not be consistent with WP-rewarded quests with clear and objective winning criteria. Moreover, it seems that pretty a lot of WP rewarded quests I have seen in the last few months were not more MD related or even less defined in terms of winner selection. I would assume that yrthilian sponsoring the quest is responsible for making sure WP is awarded fairly. I hope as a result of this quest there will be more interesting military papers to read

Pls let me know if I understood wrong. LE: I realized it would be essentially wrong to try to force Chewett to appear in public in uniform jacket and pants but with some casual slippers and cap. I prepared something to make the military bearing more complete - let's just assume the 'regular' avy is official uniform and the one below is field uniform. The helmet is state of the art model - ultimate wookie (what can be more wookie than carrying a wookie on your head?) and also heave armanents, with built in guidance and targetting. To protect user's neck, partial weight support is provided Boots... Well - troop field boots are not something to play about much. Some discrete Wookie image on front and furry finish is about all that can be done. Otherwise - just strong boots.
