Ungod got a reaction from Else in Maybe tokens shouldn't be random anymore
I'm thinking that with shards now, you have more control over your creature and you can customize the (up to a point) to your liking. Of course, abilities are going to be balancing each other, and there's an element of randomness to getting marks and all...but overall customizing your crits is now even more real.
It would suck if you'd get a token which affects your creature in a way it's not beneficial; you'd have to use the token remover and try again (and again). I think tokens being randomly thrown on creatures was a way to make things more interesting/balance, but now there's no need for that anymore?

Format changed, but the event was run; I'm sorry for death ray, but...timezones.
(As a note, Ledah quickly disrupted the 'truth or lie' judgement for his story with a famous conundrum I had forgotten about and I am mentioning his craftiness here as a warning)

Alright, with my cold getting better (hopefully), I can run the other event I was planning, namely a (mostly friendly) competition where being a good liar is rewarded.
This is a team sport and I was thinking of 3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4; in other words, at least 6 participants are needed. the goal is simple - to make your opponent's team misjudge your story. The story has to have happened in MD, even if it...never did. In other words, you must either 1) provide a real story that seems like a lie, or 2) create a false story that seems to be true. After one of the participants tells their story, the opposite team asks questions about it for about 3 mins, then they deliberate and call your story 'true' or 'BS'. If they got it wrong, you (and your team) wins!
The rewards include: a pool of 10g to distribute among winners and losers, 2 weeks Death Patrol immunity & pack of 5 research clues for the winner team, 1 week Death patrol immunity and weather&silvertongue spellstones for the loser's team, as well as some crits I will not disclose now.
I'd like this to run in a few days from now, but we need to confirm the number of players. Write in this topic your name if you wish to participate; also (important!) if your story is a TRUE story, send me the details, because I will preside the whole show and I need to know

I am running a custom heads contest, there are three locations in the realm where you can find a clicky to log your current head count and all you have to do is click it. They are in MDA, Loreroot, and Golemus Golemicarum. I will reward the top 3 scores at the start of the next year, good luck.

Ungod reacted to Fyrd Argentus in 2021 Holiday Gift Exchange
Friday the 24th, 17:00 ST.  Well of Fortune - west from Marind's Gate (direct route from GoE blocked by the demolished gazebo top).
Everyone who wishes to participate should send me privately details of a gift.  I will draw random numbers for the order in which people then choose.  The twist is, when your number comes up, you can choose to "steal" any gift already open, or choose to open an unopened one from the pile.  If you "steal" a gift, then the previous owner opens a new one instead.  This makes for an exciting party atmosphere.  Coaching from the sidelines is encouraged.
You need to describe the gift's packaging - size, shape, color of wrapping and bows...
For fairness, the value of your gift should at a minimum be ONE of the following, or similar:
    1) A creature that is maxed, colored, rare, or well tokened and/or sharded.
    2) At least 2 GC value in currency.
    3) At least 3 role-playing items in a theme, which must be accompanied by a story or explanation.
    4) At least 4 casts of a spell in a memory stone.
    5) A resource pile of at least 5 rare or 10 common types.
    6) Anything unique or special.  Give the history.

Ungod got a reaction from Eagle Eye in Letters from Santa
This isn't a quest per se, but it fits Murmas
This is about a exchange of sorts: doodle a Santa with a certain emotion and receive a letter from the said Santa (done via forum). For example, if you draw a happy Santa, you'll get a happy letter from a Happy Santa. Drawing a drunk Santa will get you...something unintelligible. All letters are personal and unique (btw, drunk is not an emotion, I know, but you'll receive a letter written in a cheerful tone, with lots of mistakes in it)
Not really a quest, but you still have to do something to get something. Draw and post in this thread (also, write the emotion underneath it so the right Santa responds) until the 25th.

    Santiago, Balada ingenua

    The night has pulled Tacitamuta
On a path of darkness, in the depth.
‘Tis what those kids are saying,
Sitting in the ashes of desolation.
What is the grim rider aiming for,
On this dark and narrow road?
It aims the Nighttide, lingering in the back
Of a black horse resembling liquid dust.
Little children, cry on the meadow,
Gutting the mind with your sorrow!
A man says he saw Tacitamuta
In the midst of two hundred wraiths,
    All clad in black,
    With shrouds of grey ash,
And the horse that Tacitamuta mounted
    Was a void of black.
The man tells it must be known
That through the quiet night you could hear
    The trembling of black hoofs
Carried by the waves of the silence.
What stopped the flowing of the river?
    Those horse-riders were wraiths.
Little children, cry on the meadow,
Gutting the mind with your sorrow!

    Dream,
My heart rested late in the night, was so cold..
the pulse was so weak that I could barely tell if it was still beating,
(a spider web covered all off my chest)
The water of the well confessed of someone crying
(The spider web continuied to grow up)
it was an eerie sound of my sweetheart, which scream after of my name.
Although I wanted to get up and go check it out the water of the well.
(spider of silence, you've poisened my heart)
My sweetheart slipped in the cold well.
(spider of silence, I beg you to let me save my "heart")
the water almost took her away,
(the spider freed me from his web and let me go)
But was so late, she is not there anymore.
But almost immediately I woke up,
(I realized it was a nightmare)
When I looked near by me, my love, it was like a statue
    (I asked her what happened?)
She replied twith a tone of fear in her voice.
"I saw an enormous spider on your chest that watching you while you were asleep."

    retrocausality
either you agree that events in the future are "stronger" (maybe more real) than events in their past, then it means that whatever you experience in the present is following a purpose in its future, and everything are just "roots".
    or
you consider events in the past "stronger" than whatever might follow them, meaning that everything in the future is totally meaningless and just a causal result of whatever happened before.
The second version is what people find easier to accept and the first is for some plain outrageous.
There are niche experiments that proved events in the future change events in the past (scientifically, look for "quantum eraser"), there is religion that talks about similar concepts (regardless of religion).
However, direct, simple, observation can only tell the story of causality, you do one thing then the next event is the effect of what you did, cause and effect.
My personal belief is that viewing things as causal, is dark ages level. I strongly believe that we observe reality (or our side of what we call reality), in a single, causal way, but it actually holds both sides. I think events happen at some point in "time" then spread their roots into the future AND the past, joining "threads" that will eventually confirm their existence and lead to it.

So, here is an elaboration on how the quest works, following another request for clarification.
There are about 30 "characters" to interact with, that will give you lots of backstory etc., but they won't divulge their critical clue/piece of the puzzle unless you have followed the logical sequence that lets you raise the right subject with them.
For instance, until you have a REASON to go to GG, nobody there is going to tell you anything important.
You start by reading the Red Flyer at Ash Arch (step 1).  This opens up a new dialog option on the second character in sequence.  You must then find that person (or whatever) and ask about the right/new available topic.  And so on through the sequence.
If people enjoy this format, this cast of characters can be used  over and over with additional episodes of mystery.  Plot suggestions from people who have finished the quest are welcome.
    Good Luck, and enjoy!

    Mystery Quest:
It has come to our attention that "Red Flyer" is also a brand name of a toy wagon.  This was not intended to be a trademark infringement and is in fact not legally so since there is no possible way to be confused between the aforementioned product and what was meant: a red-colored piece of paper posted on a bulletinboard.
Since so few have gone after a fun but easy wishpoint, however, we must assume there is more to this than logic.
    Happy Adventuring!
