  1. For this quest, make or bake a fiendishly tasty treat that is disgustingly repulsive to one's eyes!

    Submit your entries by 22:00 ST Sunday for after then a poll shall be opened for the public to choose their winner! (Polls will close 24HRs thereafter)

    Only one winner will be chosen, so please note: For any quest tagged with "Elucubrat", if you have already won one, the creature will automatically go to the next runner-up, and so on, until it finds one (I've been told they don't play well together and get jealous for their master's attention!) . If the winner should have won a Elu already, please message me so we can work out another prize. :)

  2. A simple enough quest, and an old favourite!  Turn one of your favourite scenes into a Halloween extravaganza!

    Submit entries here by Sunday 20:00ST for after that a voting poll will be opened so that the public may choose their winner! (Polls will close 24 Hrs after opening)

  3. The all hallows night is almost upon us, and it's time to get you cauldron at the ready!

    This is a 3 stage quest and all stages should be completed to be eligible for any winning position.

    Part 1: Create your own version of Shakespeare's "3 Witches" cauldron scene.

    Part 2: Name and describe the created potion.

    Part 3: Create a cauldron!

    Notes:

    • The ingredients and chosen "Three Witches" should all be MD based (though a little slack for wording is allowed here and there).
    • The connection to Witch>Wording>Ingredients will mean a better score at the end.
    • Humour and/or things/mixtures that are disgusting will mean a better score at the end.
    • Uniqueness and creativity in all three sections will mean...you guessed it!...a better score in the end!
    • Cauldrens may be made out of any sort of material you like, even drawn or painted!
    • Uniqueness and creativity will be the highest deciding factor on a winner.
    • The better the conformity to Halloween, the better the score in the end.
    • Please include a handwritten player name and ID with any submitted cauldron picture.
    • Here is the scene for those of you that do not know it:
    Spoiler

      1 WITCH.  Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd.
           2 WITCH.  Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin'd.
           3 WITCH.  Harpier cries:—'tis time! 'tis time!
           1 WITCH.  Round about the caldron go;
        In the poison'd entrails throw.—
        Toad, that under cold stone,
        Days and nights has thirty-one;
        Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
        Boil thou first i' the charmed pot!
           ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
        Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
           2 WITCH.  Fillet of a fenny snake,
        In the caldron boil and bake;
        Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
        Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
        Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
        Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
        For a charm of powerful trouble,
        Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
           ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
        Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
           3 WITCH.  Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
        Witches' mummy; maw and gulf
        Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark;
        Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark;
        Liver of blaspheming Jew;
        Gall of goat, and slips of yew
        Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse;
        Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
        Finger of birth-strangled babe
        Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,—
        Make the gruel thick and slab:
        Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
        For the ingrediants of our caldron.
           ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
        Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
           2 WITCH.  Cool it with a baboon's blood,
        Then the charm is firm and good.

    Quest begins from now (27/10/2016) and shall close no later than one week from this date (3/11/2016). Winner will be decided by a panel of judges.

  5. Important Information on Elu's!

    There are 10 Black and White and ten Coloured Elu's to be won this Halloween.

    Colours will be at the quest master's own discretion but there will be only one Elu per player; this doesn't matter what the type. Quests that have an Elu as first prize should have a standby prize at the ready for if a player wins 1st place more than once.

    That means there will be 20 people eligible for an Elu! So get your candy stacked whilst you can! :D

  6. Hello all,

    I'm looking for people to host/organise quests for this coming Halloween (31st October), if you are interested, please let me know and I will add you to the ongoing discussion.

    As the 31st is a Monday, I was wondering which of the three options would the majority of public prefer; quests held/beginning on the Friday, Sat and Sunday before Halloween (28th,29th & 30th), just the Monday (31st) or for the entire week commencing 31st?

    A few of the quests planned already will take longer than a day to complete, so quests that can be completed in shorter time-spans would be greatly appreciated!

    If you require help organising/planning or sponsoring quests for halloween, feel free to give me a message!

    Best wishes,

    -A

  7. Spoiler

    First off the dead isnt supposed to function like any other land. Its special in a way. Mur doesnt want any form of king or ruler there either. Even if your alive and part of the dead you are still cursed. Things just arent the same.

    [dst]: So you'd have alive players but cursed or dead, un-cursed players?

    Anyways here is where ill start

    To revive a guild in the dead first one must have purpose (mine is the fusioneers ) So if this guild had tools they used then ofc youll need them (i do). Youll also need a certain amount of support from ex-ally members that you can revive the guild ect. This is because they will have to help you revive it because they were original members.

    [dst]: Why would you need the support of ex members? It was an ex-member that killed it. What are "original members"? What if they are not playing anymore?

    To revive the guild though you must be dead yourself. If needed you summon the SS in the dead and present your offer ect ect.

    [dst]: What does "offer" mean? What offer? What is etc, etc?

    If you succeed and the guild is revived then its not the same. It will work differently. It will have no relations to any land other than what the guild is doing or with at the time. Also the guild wouldnt be based on fighting or saccing for loyalty. It would pick its leaders based on loyalty to the dead.

    [dst]: And since you were dead for a VERY long time, guess what? You are probably the player with the most loyalty (at least for the moment). Furthermore, "picking a leader based on loyalty to the dead" is no picking at all. So even if you try to make it look "democratic" it's just stupid.

    The guild would also bare curses such as little action points and long regen times, or very short regen times . could also cause stat damage in fights even if you are balanced .

    [dst]: Stat damage to ALL? Are you kidding me? That's idiotic and way too powerful! What happens if someone gets killed? Will they automatically be added to the ally?

    I'd like to ask the same questions as Dst, if you're not going to answer it when she asks.

    Perhaps expand a bit more on what offerings? I mean, why would the SS be involved? Just because it's in a part of that land? Or because there's some meaning?

    And it does seem this is merely a passive (though not as passive as it may have meant to be) way for you to get an alliance of your own. Not saying that it's wrong, just if you want something, no point hiding it behind false pretence. :)

    Spoiler

    Inspirations: J.L. Borges "Manual de zoologia fantàstica"; H.P. Lovecraft's "Dagon" and "The Whisperer in the Darkness", Hayao Miyazaki "Spirited Away".

    The extreme diversity of dogs and hounds known to mankind is mirrored in Hell by a vast carousel of hobbling aberrations.

    With very few exceptions, Hell Hounds are the result of the wildest experiments on animal remains, sometimes pushed even further by the incorporation of mechanical devices.

    It's not always a question of insanity, or evilness... sometimes it's just necessity.

    Being Hell so chaotic, it's incredibly hard to find a complete carcass to re-animate.

    Although paradoxical, Demons follow Zen's precept "work with what you have": the lack of resources counterbalanced only by the most vivid imagination.

    Rufus - the wheeled squid-hound

    A good example of what can be found down below, Rufus is a horned skeletal hound whose anterior paws have been grafted with squid-like tentacles.

    Furthermore, its posterior comprehends wheels and a horrid scorpion tail.

    Although confusing, it is usually referred to as a front-wheel drive beast.

    Trudy - the basset tank

    Trudy is very cute, but extremely deadly in narrow spaces.

    The head of a basset hound has been provided with a unicorn horn and mounted on caterpillar's tracks, in order for him to chase on any ground.

    Poldo - the flying chiwawa

    Don't underestimate this one! Because of his small size, the butterfly wings can take him anywhere, unnoticed, and he really loves to scare the crap out of people. Usually you realize it's there only when he is 2 inches far from your face.

    He has a rat tail and a very high-pitched voice.

    Sometimes I do wonder what goes on inside that head of yours, @lashtal:))

    Since there appears to be no rule against this (if so then please correct me)

    I will Pay 1 of my own personal Items for a newer player to see necro. Player must be under 200 ad

    The sacrifice has to be of something dear to you, that in itself is the rule. Your personal items aren't going to be "dear" to another.

    It is now 5 months later, and because you have a personal experience you don't like, you are now making it a matter of public interest. Seems a little off to me. Again, you are totally within your right to do it.

    I promised I wouldn't reply (and I won't after this, at least for a few days) but I'll reply to this little bit.

     it's Actually, it's a very different reason as to why this all began, some will know and some won't, but it wasn't because it happened, I was quite content with that. :P

    You've linked to the exact post where Mur states depletion is not officially punishable. There is also an announcement regarding land rules. This shows a clear difference between that situation and this one - but those things aren't 'real' enough for you? I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at here?

    Z

    I'm not entirely sure where you're getting at either...

    Mur states that it's not punishable officially, though clearly states "individual authorities may use their abilities as fit" and then goes on to even suggest getting the judges involved, as they're individual authorities.

    The quote of his I show also states "I say keep an open mind and avoid comparison to RL regarding this...give it a chance for a new judging without poluting it by existing RL situations" which is exactly the opposite of what is happening now - Hell! Chew's even made an Archives topic comparing the RL and MD!

    You say comparing the two is incorrect yet they are alike in many ways - something happened to a player that they saw unjust, they spoke up, the public gave their pros and cons and then a judgement happened. Why is that not be the case here?

    As I stated in both topics:

    1. Why do they have the abilities and why are/should they be different to the current rulers (who have a significantly weaker version)
    2. I'd like a judgement based upon Azull's summoning. Considering it has been done before, by Syrian on other players, it wouldn't surprise me if anyone else wished to contest it as well (as people have already shown disliking to the actions already)

    It really isn't all that hard to understand...is it?

    Edit: Perhaps I'm being dumb and missing the point or not putting mine across correctly, but I honestly don't see it...

  12. Um, I haven't said I see it as abuse (find the point where I said they had)? I said "abuse" as I was comparing Nad's with situation to this, as they're largely similar.

    Nad used his tool given to him, with no real laws laid out, and yet had a restriction on use put on him.

    Azull/Sy are doing the same but with their Bring in spells.

    ---

    My point to the previous topic was to find out why they had a large about of casts of an admin spell (that can someone anyone from anywhere) rather than a citizen/flag based spell like the other kings and ex-rulers that received it.

    17 minutes ago, Burns said:

    Doesn't sound like you asked for a judgement on a specific situation. You asked about a judgement on "the Nomad's Bring In spells".

    You see how that's quite different from asking for a judgement on whether it's okay if Azull teleports somebody to Necrovion to get a kill on them, right?

    Following my last topic on this subject, and the obvious agreement from some, I'd like to kindly request for an official judgement on the Nomad's 'Bring in' spells.

    I'd personally like to see some form of usage rules implemented, rather than complete removal of the spell. I'd also like to ask for myself and Mallos to be removed from NC, as there is no possible route for use to escape aside dying reviving, and we were dragged in unwillingly.

    Perhaps I should have put "spell casts" rather than just spells, but I assumed it obvious.

    I did ask for a judgement and then put what my personal preference would have been. You said you were happy to give a list so I went with it - as I said, better something than nothing.

    ---

    Also, in relation to both this and Chew's post on the Archives:

    On ‎05‎/‎08‎/‎2016 at 0:59 PM, Muratus del Mur said:

    My intention, to be honest, was to see some sort of division of laws and regulations depending on land. This allows exactly this, but you seem to want a more global ruling system...thats interesting, but it is also due to the small number of people.

    Why not give the chance to judges to do their role here?

    How do you judge something that is not officially a crime to do, but the punisher is entitled to consider it a crime in his own eyes? I say keep an open mind and avoid comparison to RL regarding this...give it a chance for a new judging without poluting it by existing RL situations.
