August 5Aug 5 comment_206128 I'd like to put myself forward to lead the revival of the Crafters Guild.Crafting has always been one of the systems that gives MagicDuel depth. With the Evolution Shop making more tools and opportunities available, I think it's the perfect time to rebuild a guild dedicated to experimentation, knowledge sharing, and helping players discover what crafting can really do.My GoalsCreate a welcoming place for both new and experienced crafters.Document crafting mechanics, discoveries, and best practices.Organize crafting events, challenges, and collaborative projects.Help members obtain the materials and knowledge they need to progress.Encourage experimentation instead of keeping information hidden.Work alongside other guilds to strengthen the realm as a whole. Why I Believe I'd Make a Good Guild LeaderActive and committed. I'm consistently involved in the game and willing to put in the time needed to keep the guild moving forward.Community-focused. I enjoy helping other players learn and succeed rather than competing with them.Organized. I like creating guides, documenting information, and building systems that others can use.Patient. Crafting often requires trial and error, and I'm happy to help others through that process.Collaborative. I believe the best discoveries happen when people work together instead of in isolation.Long-term mindset. My goal isn't to build a guild that lasts a few weeks, it's to create a lasting home for everyone interested in crafting.Open to feedback. Leadership should adapt to the needs of its members, and I'm willing to listen and improve. The Crafters Guild shouldn't just be a title, it should become a place where players come to learn, experiment, and create. Whether you're forging your first item or pushing the limits of what the Forge can produce, there should be a place for you here.If given the opportunity, I'll work to make the Crafters Guild an active, useful, and respected part of the realm once again. 21 hours ago21 hr Author comment_206376 I’ve been thinking about what could be done with the Crafters Guild, and I wanted to throw an idea out there for discussion. There are a few obvious locations that would make sense for the Guild. Oak Tower seems like a natural choice, given its lack of any real importance within Loreroot. The capital would also be logical. But I think there’s another possibility that could be much more interesting. The Lost Body of War Hold. There could already be the lost body of the giant statue/head in Loreroot’s forest. What if, instead of building an entirely new structure, another tree fort, we add to the existing scenes. Its been awhile since Loreroot has seen an expansion. The old, war-torn shell of the giant statue could become the foundation of the Guild. Crafters could have gradually built platforms, workbenches, furnaces, storage areas and scaffolding around and inside the remains.Essentially, something that was once a forgotten relic becomes something useful again.I think that would fit Loreroot particularly well. What would the workshop contain? The interior could have several different crafting areas that could help process materials.🔥 Smelting — kilns, and crucibles/molds to process more advanced ores⛏️Blacksmithing — Integrity of items can be repaired here💎 Gem Cutting — cutting wheels, workbenches, tools to process gemstones (2 months to make a diamond is crazy)🪵 Woodworking — lumber, carving benches, saws to process more advanced wood types (hard lumber, oak, maple etc)🧪 Alchemy / Materials — processing and identifying more advanced ingredients and crafting components.⚒️ General Workshop — very basic version of the forge that can produce role play items using only resources as material. These items purpose would be to help guide the Forge a bit more when creating potentially empowered items in the real forge. Edited 20 hours ago20 hr by Seigheart Report

8 hours ago8 hr Root Admin comment_206387 Iv spent some time working some constructive feedback for your most recent actions and this post gives a good place to discuss them as it will hopefully help you and your role described here. This has involved a lot of discussion and seeking comments from other players so please read this in the genuine way I have written it, an attempt to help you improve your ideas. If I haven't conveyed what others said, please feel free to post your comments further here in an attempt to improve this idea.AI Slop HelpersA few people have remarked that a lot of your posts recently all seem very "generic AI fantasy" and don't always meld with the reality of MagicDuel (since they don't know much about it). Some suggestions are that using AI is great, but you need to temper it's output and not just rely on it verbatim. Here is it quite apparent with your first post being quite generic fluff without anything concrete, you may want to rewrite it to be personal. It reads as if someone who doesn’t care enough to invest the time to write it personally. I don’t think that’s how you intended it to come across so I would encourage you to consider how you portray yourself. We much prefer typos galore than output from GenericFantasyLLM. We do have a Mur working on MD 😉As you can imagine, MagicDuel is a population of artists, writers, storytellers, and creatives and using AI is a controversial topic.Other suggestions on first paragraphI would suggest changing it to a call to action “this is what iv done so far, this is I’m going to do, it’s going to be amazing, stay tuned” Another big theme with the feedback is that it's great to see you back, but it would be good to see you back for a bit longer instead of immediately claiming a guild. MD has changed a lot and it would be good to see commitment to an idea rather than flitting, MD works on a lot slower pace than most are happy with and that's fine. However don’t ask permission to become ruler of a guild, just start being the crafters guild. Titles can be earned later, they don’t matter! GoalsIt would be good to see you starting to embody the goals such as running events, creating collaborative projects. In MagicDuel a lot of roles are given once people have a track record of accomplishing it. You started with your forge commentary but it would be good to see that continue. As I said, be the crafters guild! Why you may make a good leader Without commenting on this specific instance, someone making a post saying “I will be a great leader” is the number one reason they should not be a leader in my books! Don’t take that personally though. You want the leader to be someone who, when someone asks “who knows about this crafting” they go “this guy!” That isn't gained by a fancy title, it's created by work and dedication. You may want to address past behaviours and highlight steps you have taken to change. It also reads as written as an impersonal AI comment similar as in the first paragraph. It's like you said “Write some bullet points saying why I am an amazing leader” to an AI and it's generated content without actual knowledge of your character and past, that's the most important part IMO. As a specific example you have not been well known for being patient, community focussed, or collaborative and actively stirred hurt in the community. Showing why and how you have changed would add weight to this petition. Do you want a crafters guild or general workmen “profession” group It’s a bit confusing because your first post talks all about the crafters guild but subsequent posts suggest you want to help organise/run the general economy of production. Historically the crafters were about bespoke small scale craft and maybe you actually want to form your own “workmen” guild focussing on expertise on bulk processing rather. Really the crafters guild are dead now the forge is alive. I would suggest having a think about where you want to actually position your new guild. From your commentary I would move away from crafters and make your own new guild. Workshop containing all processors I think this idea is against all of MD lore and concepts and unfortunately continues the “generic fantasy AI slop” vibe. MD has always encouraged putting things “around” the world to encourage movement, trade, and specialism. I don’t think having a singular place for all crafting is good for MD. My suggestion would be to split these up and suggest places around MD where they would thematically fit. Some people I have talked to have actually suggested we need to revive the guilds across the land, Fusioneers, water dowsers, etc. Instead of having a central organisation, make it so each land has a specialism. I think maybe this would work well, and instead of you being the "Head" of them all, work as an envoy between them facilitating crafting, trade, sharing knowledge?Infographics I won’t individually comments on the items but it again looks very generic fantasy, there are various elements that don’t seem to fit in with how resources actually work in MD I saw Fang made a number of suggestions aligned with my comments about it being generic (and agreed when I spoke with him about it) and not fitting in with MD but now I look again he removed them.Instead of producing a large quantity of ideas that just don’t fit in MD I would suggest you spend time reviewing actual structures in MD and provide a smaller subset that actually fit into MD. As an example to help you I have written up how the upgradable were planned to work. I never got time to finish them unfortunately. Maybe Mur will let me in the future. Resources need a use One of the key areas previous initiatives like yours have failed is because they have a lot of ideas about resources that could be collected and processed but nothing about how they could be used. There is a reason most larger games actively employ economists to build a sensible economy to encourage trade. My suggestion would be to focus more on the end products and why the players (and Mur and I) would care about including them. We don’t want to add three new types of ore, but if there is a use, that’s exciting. To help I have posted an idea about how resources could factor into armour. Hopefully that will give you some ideas of what I mean. I’m encouraged to see your real ideas Without trying to seem too negative a lot of these ideas are quite generic fantasy and I’m keen to see your real ideas where they fit into MD, or where you argue MD should change, rather than a lot of generated things that don’t really fit. My primary suggestion would be to focus on a few key ideas and make them really good so we can implement them, over a vast wave of things that don’t really fit. .AI is a superpower, using it well can give incredible results, but if it’s generating a large volume of low quantity ideas it removes what’s special about MD. And protecting what’s special about MD is the only thing I care about. Report

And protecting what’s special about MD is the only thing I care about.I appreciate you taking the time to write this and to speak with other players about it. However, I think there are some important assumptions in your feedback that I want to address, because I don't think you've actually read my posts closely enough to understand what I'm proposing or how I'm using AI. Again it's your famous bias again.First, regarding the AI criticism: I use AI as a tool to help organize my thoughts, fix grammar, structure information, and convey what I'm trying to say. The world is changing, and AI is becoming a normal tool for communication and creative work. Using it doesn't mean the ideas themselves aren't mine.I have a lot of ideas, and I use AI to help me turn those ideas into something readable and organized. That's particularly useful when I'm trying to communicate complicated systems or large amounts of information. The fact that something is well structured or grammatically polished doesn't mean I simply asked an AI to invent a fantasy system and copied the result. That's also why I don't think describing my posts as "GenericFantasyLLM" is particularly fair without actually looking at what I've written and what I've been trying to accomplish.More importantly, I don't agree with the suggestion that I've simply been producing a large volume of ideas without thinking about their place in MD. Some of the things I've posted are deliberately exploratory. I'm putting ideas out there so they can be discussed, challenged, changed, or discarded. That's part of developing a system.I also don't think I need to pretend that I don't have ambitions for the Crafters Guild simply because leadership should be earned. I can have a vision for what I want to build while still understanding that recognition and titles come later. Those aren't contradictory.Where I do agree with you is that actions matter more than a title. If I want people to see me as someone who contributes to crafting, then obviously I need to actually contribute. I'm perfectly comfortable proving that through my actions rather than asking people to simply take my word for it.But I don't think returning to MD means I should sit quietly for months before proposing anything. I've come back because I want to contribute, and part of contributing is bringing ideas to the table. MD itself is changing, just as the wider world is changing, and I don't think every new idea should automatically be rejected because it doesn't exactly resemble how things were done historically. That brings me to the suggestion that my ideas are against MD lore.I think this is where actually reading the posts and discussing the individual proposals becomes important. If something I've proposed doesn't fit MD, I'd much rather have someone tell me specifically what doesn't fit and why than dismiss the entire concept as generic fantasy. I'm very willing to change an idea when there is a concrete reason for doing so.The same applies to the workshop idea. The intention wasn't simply "put every machine in one building because that's how fantasy crafting works." There is a larger concept behind the processing and production system I'm trying to develop. If the better implementation is to distribute those processes around the lands, then that's something that can be discussed. But I don't think the underlying idea should be dismissed without engaging with what I'm actually proposing.I also think the distinction between a Crafters Guild and a broader production/workmen organization is worth discussing. I'm not married to it, but the concept is worth looking at. What matters to me is creating a functioning system where people who gather, process, craft, trade, and specialize have reasons to interact with one another. There is a gap between resources, and the forge. I want to fix that. And yes, resources need uses. That's something I've been considering as part of the system. I'm not interested in creating 30 different ores simply because they sound interesting. The resources need to feed into actual crafting, production, trade, or player activity. As for the leadership comments, I understand your position, but I don't think listing past mistakes is necessarily the only meaningful way to demonstrate change. If I've behaved badly in the past, the best evidence that I've changed is how I behave now. I don't expect anyone to believe that because I wrote "I've changed." I'll demonstrate it through how I interact with people and what I actually do.So I think the biggest difference between us here is that you're looking at my posts and seeing AI-generated generic fantasy content, while I'm looking at them as my own ideas that I've used AI to organize and communicate. If you think specific parts don't fit MagicDuel, I'm absolutely willing to discuss those parts individually. But I don't think it's fair to characterize the entire project as AI slop when the criticism is based on assumptions about how the posts were produced rather than engagement with the actual ideas behind them.I'm not asking anyone to give me a title or declare me the leader of anything tomorrow. I'm putting forward a vision, I'm willing to develop it, and I'm willing to have the community challenge it.If it works, great. If parts don't work, I'll change them. But I'd rather have that discussion based on the actual ideas I've proposed rather than on the assumption that I typed "make me a fantasy guild" into an AI and pasted the result.Try looking at the big picture, instead of picking holes. Yes, AI helped fix the jumbled mess that this was. Deal with it. Report

7 hours ago7 hr comment_206395 I will have to agree with chew on this. While its a great idea it does seem a bit like your wanting to capitalize on products. Even more so seems that way due to wanting the ability to craft anything thats needed in one place. I also agree with chew that it does not fit the lore of MD. Wanting new resources is not a simple task. It takes coding and more. So if new resources have no use then there is no need for chew or mur to want to bother trying to implement them. I'd suggest if you want new resources you should first find what they should be used for and how they are used and in what land are they used. Once done that ask yourself " does it fit with the lore of md and does it fit with the lore of the land" .Start small... A good idea to start would maybe be with chews idea of craftable armor/weapons. Its possible they may need one or a few new items to build special sets. Such as chest plates, chain mail and more. As for you wanting to be a leader or the leader of the guild I agree with chew. Don't claim to be the leader. Instead take the initiative and just do what a leader would do. And dont assume even when doing so you'll get the alliance or a tag. These things take a lot of time. As an example my voice of the dead role... I never once proclaimed to be voice of the dead before I got the role and tag. I instead enjoyed being dead and would help guide other dead players on revival, travel and just keep them company. I even did the while alive. I learned how the dead worked in and out and figured out how to do things while dead that mur and chew didn't think was possible for the dead. I did it for a very long time before I was considered and awarded an official role for it. All im saying is take a step back and see what you can do now and where you should start and try that. Sometimes a role is not what we think it is or will be so keep that in mind. I've only very recently come to a realization of what my voice of the dead role really is and how it doesn't actually just revolve around player but also all the life in md from players to lands to resources and creatures. Is it worth a shot taking on the role you want.... Yes if your passionate about it. Will you get what you want?.... probably not in the way you want or not at all. But dont let it stop you. Many roles were made by players who took that initiative and worked hard for them and didn't expect anything in return other than the satisfaction. Keep that in mind and dont take offense. I am not downing you. Mearly trying to point you in the right direction from experience of building a role from nothing to something Report

7 hours ago7 hr Author comment_206404 And I think there is another part of this that needs to be addressed: whether you agree with my ideas or not, I have valid ideas, and I've had ideas implemented into MagicDuel before. I'm not claiming every idea I have is brilliant or that every proposal should be accepted. I'm saying that dismissing my ideas based on who I was 10 or 15 years ago isn't a particularly fair way to judge what I'm doing now.I've grown as a person over the past 10–15 years. A lot has happened in that time. Do you even remember what I was doing 15 years ago? Because I certainly don't think the person I was then is a particularly accurate representation of who I am now. You're right that I'm not the most patient person in the world. Quite the opposite. But even that criticism needs some context.I've been working on this for a month.I haven't just appeared yesterday, demanded a guild, and expected everyone to hand me a title. I've been actively participating, developing ideas, discussing them, and trying to actually get things moving.I already attempted to run a quest. Unfortunately, that was cut short because of the changes happening with the Forge and Eggy. That's not me abandoning the idea or losing interest. Now, with Mur implementing Forge fires being added to gift credit purchases, that quest can actually continue.I've also been one of the most active players this year. So when the criticism is that I need to "stick around longer" or "show commitment," I think it's fair to point out that I am already showing commitment.Maybe I'm moving faster than some people are comfortable with. That's entirely possible. But moving quickly isn't the same thing as being impatient or not being committed.I'm enthusiastic. I have a lot of ideas. I want to see things happen. Those are things I'm not going to apologize for. What I will do is listen when someone points out a genuine problem with an idea. If something doesn't fit MD, tell me why. If something conflicts with existing mechanics or lore, show me where. If there's a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish, I'm happy to hear it.But I don't think "you were difficult 15 years ago" or "your writing sounds like AI" is a particularly useful critique of the actual systems I'm proposing today.Judge me by what I'm doing now.Judge the ideas on their merits. And if I fail to follow through, if I disappear, if I stop contributing, then by all means tell me I wasn't committed. But after a month of actively working on this, attempting to run events, continuing the Forge work, developing systems, participating in the community, and having some of those ideas already make their way into MD, I don't think it's reasonable to say I haven't demonstrated effort or commitment.I don't need everyone to agree with me.I just want the discussion to be about what I'm actually doing now, rather than who I was a decade and a half ago. But after a month of actively working on this, attempting to run events, continuing the Forge work, developing systems, participating in the community, and having some of those ideas already make their way into MD, I don't think it's reasonable to say I haven't demonstrated effort or commitment.I don't need everyone to agree with me.I just want the discussion to be about what I'm actually doing now, rather than who I was a decade and a half ago.I say this from experience seig,You are mis interpreting what we are saying. Maybe cool down a bit and come back later and re read whats been said. Report

I am trying to have a civil discussion here but no one here is bringing any real counters to my idea. Just shutting it down with zero discourse. Edited 6 hours ago6 hr by Seigheart Report
