I think the reason why you did not get more feedback is that we don't have enough regular gatherers in each category. My feedback would be all zero, wouldn't help you much, right? Would probably be easier to find people if you asked for specific resources. This is tiresome but more systematic way. Just my 2 cent.

Ladies and gentlemen, here's a new quest for all of you.
It's a chance to obtain a headless skeleton, but most of all a chance to unleash the dark side of your creativity. 
 
You have to create/design a new undead / build-able creature.
 
So, first of all you need to put down a list of the ingredients you're going to use.
You can use only items or resources already existing in MD.
That said, all categories can be used: resources, common items, personal items, default items… everything, but already implemented.
 
You can use these lists as official reference on what's on the market right now: Items, Resources.
 
Second, once you have the ingredients and all the needed quantities, you have to detail all the steps of the procedure (the recipe, if you wish) to obtain such a creature.
 
Third, your creation needs a name and an image; therefore you have to draw the result of your experiments and name it.
 
The drawing must follow these rules:
1 drawing per submission, hand-made, original (not copied), black/white, MD noted on one corner - NO player name, NO player ID. 
 
Submissions are to be sent to me via forum PM, not posted on the forums.
I will act as a filter and forward your submissions to 3 judges (unaware of the authors).
 
All participants will receive either an unholy priest or a tormented soul.
Main rewards will depend on the n° of participants:
 
if n° < 10: best submission gets a headless skeleton;
if n° > 10: best submission can pick either a WP or a headless skeleton, second best submission gets the remaining one.
if n° > 20: … surprise!
 
Deadline: 31 May at midnight.

First. There always has to be a start somewhere. And the start is where it is now. There are people who donated things recently (far later than last slave auction) but they are not here, because I did not come to the idea back then, but now. We will all have accept that. I have not been in TK from the start so I do not know who donated what and when. Enlist half people and forget about other half is absolutely bad taste.
 
Second. Donations enlisted here will be those made out of free will, not the tax donations, like in case of slave auction. People who donate more than the tax says will probably be mentioned here as well.

the way I see it - the only currency in MD is gold actually (and I don't see the need to have more to be honest). The only reason why silver needs to exist is - because some things are worth less then 1 gold and you get in trouble if you have only gold. Unless you want to devaluate gold to the level of silver you need something smaller to split gold up. Exactly the same thing with RL currencies - 1$ = 100cent because community agreed that it is practical. They could also have agreed on 1$ = 15 cent. I don't see gold and silver like $ and euro and I think it is good. Personally I dislike all market manipulations with money and I don't wish any preferances of values for MD.
 
So you make an exchange from gold to silver if you want to buy 1 bone from me (lets say 1 bone costs 1 silver coin in my understanding) and you assume that I will have trouble to give you the change. This function is fully enough for me to justify the existance of gold and silver.

As the name suggests, this tournament has some twists, in this case it means that each round will follow different rules, which will only be made public moments before the round is bound to begin.
however a few rules will be the same for all rounds:
each round will be a statless competition, meaning no influence (0%) and no tokens no spells (or any other factor that can alter the fight other than the creature selection) no combo knockout, winner has 1 offensive and defensive victory max freezes per ritual: 2 Time and location

In regards to Mur's announcement we Caretakers have began a new stage in our life.  Instead of trying to just bury or cremate the dead, now we are also charged with helping those who wish it back to life.  We have already had a few people step forward with flowers to try and bring back their kin.  We are working diligently on this project and will do our best to get those back to life.  Of course there are a few details to work out in order to comply with what Murs/chewys ideas are for these changes in dynamics. 
 
Before we had Molquert to bring those back to life who could pass the challenges faced in order to be revived.  In the same we we also don't want to make it to where you just throw some flowers and poof they are revived.  Therefore it will be more like a repeatable quest that will involve people helping to revive a dead person.  More details will be posted as soon as we have an official write up on the quest.  Until then please have patience and enjoy your new death.  Please forum pm or in game message me with the name of the person you wish to revive.  We are making a list and revivals will be done as unbiased as possible, based on who has the requirements met and order of requests.  Any questions please feel free to contact me, we CTs want to ensure that people don't feel left out or abandoned. 
 

Almost 8 years after the story about friendship and betrayal (you can read about it here) I come to you with a story about friendship and revenge.
 
Yes, this is about the TW takeover. Probably most of you know that it was not a bug or an exploit that I used and probably some of you (ex necros - wow! how fun to say this :D - for sure) know how I was able to take it over.
 
Not to prolong the "mystery" : it was Ary who invited me in.
 
And now for some background: about 2 or 3 years ago I was casually playing MD when a team quest was announced. For some reason I ended up in the same team as Nimmy and a new guy called Ary Endleg (btw: it's the anagram for Legendary if you haven't discovered by now). I don't remember what happened to that quest but what I do remember is that one day my skype window popped and a guy called "Ary Endleg" added me. At first I was annoyed because I thought he was a noob :D. He asked me to guess who he was. I failed several times. He got bored and told me :D.
 
We began to chat and to plot things. Our mutual goal was to destroy TW/Necro/whatever resided in that land. And we set up a plan.
- Get NC citizenship
- Get in NC hidden forum
- Get in TW
- Wait for opportunity to take over TW
 
First 3 ones were pretty easy and went smooth. Last one was a female dog because the paranoid Necros didn't leave an open spot for the life of the Spaghetti Monster!
 
Yes ex-Necros! You were sooo paranoid...I had so much fun tormenting you! Remember few months ago when one of you exit the ally and I used an illusion to take on the badge? Sy got to freaked out that she used the tool to remove NC citizenship. Btw: that tool is bugged. None of you noticed that the uses didn't go down. Or...you didn't want to. I had to report it to Chew because you didn't care to. I got in that illusion several times along the years but you never seems to care or to remember. Your memory is short. Waaay too short. You should lose the hive thing :D. It damages you.
 
Back to the story. I started gaining enough loyalty to always be ahead on azull and have the number so in case of an opportunity to jump right in.
Meanwhile we were thinking of other options in order to get one of you out. Yes, believe it or not I cannot use illusions to take over allies. I can do other stuff but not this. And even after Chewett confirmed it you still didn't believe it. You couldn't believe that one of you was a mole. Believe it! He fooled you to the core!
 
The first real opportunity showed when peace announced she's leaving the game. But you were right there and replaced her with aeo. Oh well...we missed it. We moved on.
 
Days passed, both me and Ary and No one and the rest of what I like to call The Team went on with our lives and played MD and did other stuff. Disband one ally here, kill one player there, do a quest everywhere (this one's Nimmy :D), win some other quests and adventures, make players quit, business as usual.
 
Then one day (Friday evening or Saturday morning? - my mind is fuzzy cause I was incredibly tired that week-end) Ary told me that eara is leaving the ally and she'll be using "wookiee magic". That was our chance. But guess what? I slept from 6 PM until next day at 9 I believe. Poor Ary! He called, he yelled he probably pulled his hair that night. I think he cursed me more than any of you combined.
But we were lucky. Next day eara was out and the free spot was not filled in. So we acted. He invited me in, I got more loyalty than azull and then kicked ALL of ally members out.
 
Next step: send Mur the e-mail containing the log I pulled 4 years ago :D. That was a brilliant move (yes, I am VERY modest) I had so much adrenaline in me that I couldn't find that damn log (I must confess I am not a very tidy librarian :D). I passed Ary all the logs I had from that period and asked him to search for the piece cause I was unable to :D. He found it. I e-mail Mur and Chewett. I made the post on the forum.
And then the waiting game began.
 
And things happened. I haven't seen so many changes in such a short time since MD's old days. And they are not over. There are changes still to come.
 
And who is the one to thank for all this? Ary Endleg. He infiltrated you up to the highest level. He gained your trust. Yes, he did help you with stuff. Meanwhile he kept me updated with your moves :D. He's the best spy in all MD History!

This Necrovion event would have been the PERFECT subject for an AL story...but ..who...and..how to avoid past problems?
Maybe someone, preferably a group -->hint<-- will actually write it, with details from the past of what happend, and what will happen, and will get releasted slowly and not in real time as it once was. I believe even like this it has the potential to be great.
 
Actually if i think better of this, releasing event stories some time after everything finished to happen, might give us the chance to prepare the entire story well. It involves the majority not knowing what happen but seeing only the final result. I don't know what to do or if all this is possible, just a thought.

Here's my take on things, because hopefully I calmed down enough to be able to talk about this. This is one of my infamous text walls (and quite a heartfelt one too), you have been warned, but I will try and summarise it in a TL;DR at the end. 
 
1. Necrovion.
I agree with Azull, to a great extent. This is both because I felt more integrated in Necrovion than in any other land I have been before. I like to believe that it transcended just the nature of an alliance, as I have been a citizen of Necrovion for more than a year before joining the Tainted Warriors; I'll be honest, I was very, very happy as a citizen. To me, the badge was more of a symbol of recognition when it was received; I didn't see it as a necessity, but it being given to me actually made me happy (which to those who know me, know is a big deal. I'm really never happy). I don't believe that Necrovion, as it stands today, is defined by any alliance it has or has had.
 
2. Reactions and comments.
Yes, people are bitter and defensive. Thorny and hardened. I think it's just a reality of MD... So unfortunately, accusations and acidic words do start flying, but it's only natural that they do so, taking into account how people are. Is it okay? No. Is it a reality? Yeah. My opinion? Can't make an omelet without breaking the eggs, take it or leave it. I actually had to try really hard to not say anything, other than the outburst I had in the in-game chat in the first few minutes after it happened.
 
3. View on alliances.
I think Assira pointed at a few things very accurately, so I'll reiterate those with my own perspective. 
I think alliances might have lost some of the "wow factor" they used to have. I think this is more probably 50% because most of those in MD are veterans. Alliances don't phase us that much anymore. We know what they're about. So to us, it looks like they devalued, like they lost their meaning. However, they also did lose part of their meaning (it's not just in our heads). If you look at alliances from a distance, maybe 1 or 2 stand out as unique. The rest are really the same thing, but with different artwork and in different lands (keep in mind, I might be a bit extreme here, but my point remains: compare GG to GotR, to SoE or KoB and then compare DoB with GotR or any of the previously mentioned, and you should see what I mean). But this is because people are not as involved as they used to be, IMO, rather than because of an intrinsic flaw in the alliances. Also, no offence meant to any ally mentioned.
The rest of the harm, IMO, is done by repeated takeovers. I really want to believe that they are done in an attempt to make MD progress, rather than as some sort of selfish, coercive method to obtain personal gain. Please let me have that delusion, if I'm wrong. But I think the huge, huge thing that this method misses is the fact that alliances are, in fact, made of people. Hit them once, they might fight back. Hit them twice, maybe. But when everybody is getting hit again and again all around you, you start to think more about how to keep what you have rather than what to actually do with it - I think this would be a main point. It becomes a dead long-term 'savings' account rather than an investment. Look at the reaction the vast population had to the economic crisis in the 2000s. It was all about 'saving what you have' rather than 'correcting and making plans to improve in the future'. The way I see it, things will just get progressively worse, and I think that in the most recent 2 (excluding TW) takeovers, you can see that active people, alliance leaders that actually had a plan and vision left (or are significantly less active/visible now). 
Finally? Very superficial, perhaps, but the fewer alliances there are, the more barren the game looks. Yes, I really like the badges, their art. I think they had a big, big "wow factor" to them, especially for new players. But now, I think a massive number of alliances are dead, with all the "wow" they brought gone. Some badges had a lot of symbolism to them, a lot about the alliance or its land could be learned just by looking at the badge. And now that's  gone. Sure, you might still see it in some capitols, but it's no longer in the game. It's no longer flowing, it's no longer present in the public eye. And it saddens me that most likely, that is permanent and will not improve in the future.
 
TL;DR
NC is more than its alliances, through the people who inhabit and rule it. Can't throw a tomato at a fan and expect to not get a mess. All alliances have lost some of their 'oomph' because of lack of involvement, repeated takeovers, reduced population, and a natural tendency to focus on protecting rather than being out-going when threatened. I think a coordinated effort is necessary to change this, if my delusional view that "change and improvement of MD" is the ultimate goal is correct.

When I joined Necrovion there were two alliances in this land. The Necrovian Sentinels and The Tainted Warriors. The Sentinels were disbanded by a player during Jester's reign for much the same reasons TW are disbanded now. I never asked for the Sentinels to be returned. This alliance was the result of a covenant between humans and shades. It's destruction and subsequent lack of reactions from the shades was a symbol this covenant no longer exists. The only thing that remains is that humans are allowed to live in Necrovion. I feel the Sentinels should remain dead until such time a new covenant is made. (which seems unlikely to happen anytime soon) Of course there is a practical reason too. An alliance with that many seats is impossible to protect. And since alliance taking has become such a popular and in many cases easy to do hobby, why bother.   In August 2011 after Jester left Necrovion and joined SoS in the east, Tainted Warriors were  disbanded by a player who acted as Mur's cats-paw. A few days later the land was closed and we were left with nothing. But it didn't mean the end of Necrovian society. Quite the contrary in fact. Some time later the alliance was given back to us because of a wish rewarded in an unexpected way (ann. 2034). Over the past years it was taken from us twice more because of misplaced trust and treason. Twice we got it back by use of illusions. With Peace gone this is not an option now. But is that such a bad thing? We don't think so.    The Necrovian social and political structure we built is not defined by its alliance. In reality an alliance is a tool with a few useful features and a badge (of pride). Nothing more. I challenge anyone to prove me otherwise. Four years ago we made the foundation for this Necrovion without an alliance. Having none now doesn't affect us beyond the loss of a few gadgets. Necrovian society, or whatever colorful name one might prefer for us, still exists. Having no alliance doesn't change that.  

In light of last events, and a topic "Fate of Necrovion", it seems that historical events entered MD again. Events outcome of which is still very unclear, but which can change face of MD forever. I was wondering if you also think that the new AL chapter should start now and if somebody would be ready to work on it.
