  1. Updated first post We welcome anyone who wants to help Loreroot, so don't hesitate to apply to be a support group member. Or pm me if you want to be a spy~
  2. Release thy tears of pride without reluctant shame, for that is a paradox! You shall cry, with my wholehearted approval.
  3. The Glaistig! So inhuman in strength and beauty one might think it has the powerful legs of a knator and queer torso of a water daimon hidden under its green robe. The Glaistig! While chances are you will find it regally composed should you anger it, you will find its true face is not beauteous nor kind in the least, but that of a human crone twisted in cruel hatred, immovable fury like those of shades. The Glaistig! While it has no need to, it shepherds the children of the world, those new to its ways. When desperately summoning for help, it mercifully appears so they can hearken to its unsurmountable wisdom. The Glaistig! The Glaistig! The Glaistig! I am Glaistig. I don't really know the exact meaning of my name, nor does it really mean something special to me; I just became aware that others needed something to call me by, and after searching for inspiration for a bit to no avail, I picked "Glaistig" because it seemed as good as any other. I'm not pretentious and I won't say that I'm this or that strong, beautiful, wise or kind and my life is dedicated to some sort of admirable cause or another. If you really want to know what directs my actions, I just do whatever strikes my fancy. But--I think it would be very befitting of me if I grew powerful, stunning, astute and indulgent, right? Maybe this is what people would chant: "The Glaistig! So unhuman in strength and beauty one might think it has the powerful legs of a knator and queer torso of a water daimon hidden under its green robe. The Glaistig!" Of course, I am entirely human, just like you. But as of now, with nothing better to guide me, that's my quest. I am going to grow powerful beyond imagining, so as to inflict punishment on any who crosses me, and people like you will behold me in awe. Power doesn't come solely from bashing everyone in sight. Not true power, anyway. Power is the enabling element of the world. If you only know how to get easy wins, you won't last long. Knowledge, in fact, is the fodder for power, as knowing things will enable you to do things. Thus, being of the inquisitive sort, it's only natural that I'm quite suited to power. Anyway, the only reason why I'm not the most powerful in the world right now is because I'm not in any particular rush. There is no need, when it will happen eventually anyway. Those who think themselves far ahead of me don't know that their seat of glory is quite temporary. If they were wise like me, they would take the quest for power leisurely and let other things distract them. After all, you learn most when you are patient... DON'T question what I say. I can turn you into a frog, if you'd like. In any case, I've already accomplished a considerable amount. When I had only the mindpower to learn three principles of the world, I was able to get into Loreroot without any fuss at all. I impressed the ferryman so much with the feats of my mind, that he was compelled to take me on a trip. On the same day, the Drachorn Master decided I was worthy of having my own drachorn. I've walked through both the Howling Gates and the Gates of Ages, too. When you think of all that, it isn't surprising that whenever others hear my name, they think they see stars. I've done so much in such an early stage of my quest. I'm sure you're quailing at the thought of how much I can do in the future. And then, when I am in the position to inflict my wrath on all those who have slighted me thus far, they'll say whisper to each other: "The Glaistig! While chances are you will find it regally composed should you anger it, you will find its true face is not beauteous nor kind in the least, but that of a human crone twisted in cruel hatred, immovable fury like those of shades. The Glaistig!" That, surely, is wrong, although it's certainly understandable that such imbeciles would think that when my steely glare petrifies them in their fear. However, many know to the contrary. I am very selfless and share from my bountiful knowledge freely with those who are lost and in need of direction. In fact, when enough experience my benevolence, they'll probably say something like this: "The Glaistig! While it has no need to, it shepherds the children of the world, those new to its ways. When desperately summoning for help, it mercifully appears so they can hearken to its unsurmountable wisdom. The Glaistig!" Yess.. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't already being said, though I'm not presumptuous and wouldn't assume it. But, it is likely that they are so awed that they cannot say such things openly, don't you think? Mayhaps that will change in time, when they become aware that the awe is shared. Hmm.. would you like to listen to the musings of this being who will grow so great it will be beyond your comprehension? This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance; when I reach my aspirations, I will no longer have the time to tell others my ponderings, and you will be able to say that I spoke to you personally. Could you possibly underestimate the effect that will have on the unfortunates? Additionally, there is no doubt that you will find things of interest and use in my anecdotes. ~~~ Once upon a time, a while back, actually, I was actually in favor of Necrovion. I was misled by the shades' endearing nature, and wanted to become their glorious master as they quite struck my fancy. Or what their nature appeared to be, anyway. My disenchantment occurred slowly. It so happened that there was another interested in meeting shades. This short, rotund creature was called Khalazdad. Yes, this is the same Khalazdad who is now leader of the Necrovion alliance, the chosen of the shades. Doubtless you have heard of his capricious whims. Back then, he was on a quest for knowledge, which agreed with me. I have, after all, already said that I am of the inquisitive sort and appreciate that power stems from knowledge. In any case, he wanted to learn more about the nature of shades. I knew him as a congenial fellow, meeting him occasionally whenever the Knator Commander (that annoying beast..) told engaging stories. I had mentioned before that I could enter Necrovion, and knowing this, he confided his wish to me, and said that the most probable way to go about this was to attract the attention of the shades. I would not pass the chance up, and offered to help him. We decided to stand vigil by the Howling Gates and express our desires to meet the shades, offering eggs--nothing of the sort had been done before. Of course, I could already get into Necrovion, but I only had access to the outer parts. This was more than most people then, but all the same, no shades would appear before me. After all, I could be considered an intruder, I suppose. Well, not really, but no need to talk about that. Anyway, we spent the first night in the cause alone. On the second day, it was thought advisable to seek others who would help us gather attention, as two is a small amount to do something of the magnitude we were attempting. While he continued to voice his thoughts at the Gates, I began spreading the message. Many hearkened, and asked for more information. This was what Khalazdad told them: About the mission Wodin seeks to make war on the shades. Not far from here he trains an army for this purpose. we attack them on sight, also, trying to improve our access to parts of this world and to improve the abilities of the creatures attached to us. But no measure of understanding is sought. We encounter one shade who tries to communicate - it gives us a small cube into which we are imprisoned; it seems to carry us to a different version of this place where the spirits of the dead can talk. Marind speaks to us then in a fae carnivale. At no other time do the Shades speak in this realm. We wonder about the nature of the Shades. Some call them evil - and yet they have never attacked us directly. Some call them morally neutral but dangerous - the Knator Commander is in this camp. Other say they seek only power and energy. None name them beneficient. The nature of the shades may reflect our own nature. We do not know how we came to be in this place; is this the heaven or hell of another plane? Limbo? Why do we start formless then gradually develop bodies? If we can answer questions about the shades, perhaps we will know more about ourselves. Thus we stand by the gates of Necrovion, exhorting the Shades to contact us. We offer them energy - if they need heat, we have it; if they can feed on eggs, we have them. Our vigil is steadfast. In a short amount of time, there was a crowd at the Gates who wanted to be part of the experience. We didn't know, really, if anything would happen at all. I'm sure we probably looked like fools to many others who also heard our call and decided to ignore it. But as you likely know, something did happen. It was a most curious sensation; one moment, we were at the Gates, still clamoring. The next, we were transported into Necrovion, at the Well of Tears. I had already been there before, but the others had not and there was chaos at first. Eventually, things got sorted out and we set off to explore as a group. After we saw the desolation of the Trial of Agony, the Eternal Toiler, and trekked through the Demented Ascent and saw the House of Tainted Times, we began wondering what to do. Necrovion was a barren land, and there was nothing much to keep our attention; there were no shades to greet us. We discovered the mutilated C, and it seemed like great figures were joining our party out of nowhere: Wodin Ullr, Mur, RJ, Shoeps, the ferryman and drachorn master. While some wondered at this, I was more concerned about the shades. We all gathered before the entrance to the Caves of Torment. It would have been unthinkable to enter, but Khalazdad thought that our best bet was to repeat what we had been doing: try to get a shade to appear before us with offerings of eggs and heat, only this time closer to where they lurked. For a time nothing new occurred. A campfire was built, and within time, people once again raised their voices to consider the next action. However, it was in the midst of this that we noticed someone who hadn't been amongst us before: a dark figure, not completely discernible; humanlike, yet having an aura of something else completely. It was a shade, of course. Chaos reoccurred. The shade did not seem especially malevolent, though it demanded an answer as to why we were there. Apparently, it was a force not originating in Necrovion that moved us into the Necrovion territory. Almost everyone was asking questions at once, and I am still surprised to this day that Khalz was able to rein them in as the leader of the mission and get them to speak one at a time. It goes to say that he had admirable authority. He still does today, although I now question why others think so highly of it. A Q&A session began. Although we promised to answer any questions the shade, which seemed equally curious about humans as we of them, the questioning was mostly on our part. However, it's not the words that I shall tell you, as they are near irrelevant to me even today. What I did note, with shock, was that the vision of a skull kept on reappearing before me when I looked at the shade. This felt completely wrong to me. I had believed that shades did not have any bones, and were quite immaterial. It broke the picture of what I had thought them to be, and I immediately felt discouraged from associating with the mission from then on. I still felt disillusioned after the meeting, and openly expressed my dismay. Later, encouraged by Khalz, I asked Wodin about it, and learned that shades in general didn't have skulls, nor the one we met. It was actually a sign of something else, which I do not see the need to go into at the moment. Nonetheless, the damage was done. I was no longer sure that shades and Necrovion were right for me, in my heart. Outwardly, I reconciled with Khalazdad and the mission, and decided to meditate on the recent events for a week. When I returned, a lot had occured. Khalazdad seemed greatly changed, and no longer just wanted to learn about the shades and Necrovion. Apparently, the shades had picked him to lead the human army in the upcoming war. While in truth I was slightly jealous of his position, I rejoiced at the opportunity to join the Necrovion side. However: "I do not know if I want you in my alliance, nor my army. You have shown yourself to be vain and only care about appearances. Can that be called a true believer of the Necrovion might?" The rejection smarted greatly. I retreated to think on the matter, and returned to tell him that shades appealed to me because of all of their characteristics, their appearance included because it was part of the nature I had been led to believe was theirs. And to this he said: "I cannot accept what you say to be the truth, not when you have failed previously. You lack conviction; if this were truly so, you would not have wavered in your answer." Hateful traitor! I am entirely human and sometimes in the heat of things my thoughts get confused and need some sorting. Of course, I didn't say that to him. My thoughts needed some sorting. In a little time, I heard Necrovion alliance member dst beckon, "Join the dark side! We have cookies and coffee." Now, does that seem hypocritical? How could Khalazdad refuse those who weren't "true believers" and in the meanwhile allow his own underling try to recruit with bribes? I confronted him once again. And his response: "Actually, I didn't refuse you because you are an untrue believer, but because of your vacillation. Come back when you have shown you are dedicated to Necrovion." At this, I was rather confused. Did he not just contradict the words he uttered before? I wondered a great deal if he had simply forgotten what I said to him and his responses, or if he simply didn't care enough to bother thinking about it. He didn't seem at all like the intelligent being I had grown to like. In any case, frustration became paramount. I didn't want to join an alliance led by someone like this new Khalz, or even help the shades if this was the choice they made, when they could've picked if not myself, someone like me. At the very least, I could not join when my worth was underestimated. Unappreciative bastards like Khalazdad could lose a dedicated supporter for all I cared. I made my decision: I would exact retribution on Khalazdad and the shades, the former a loser and the latter lame. The only thing next was which alliance I would pick: Golemus or Loreroot. While the first is more active against the shades, I was not very particular to being led by someone like Wodin. He is a proud fool, one who bullied my dear pet when she was only expressing her opinion. After all, his cape and sword are rather silly-looking, are they not? Nor did I really enjoy the prospect of entering the Loreroot alliance. I had met the Knator Commander before, and he did not seem very pleasant at all—instead, a rash, brutish creature which leaps to conclusions quickly and only likes those who shower him in compliments (although he does have a bit of knowledge you can call on). Honest, his singing can't really be called music; it sounds just like normal noise except the words are all nonsense. However, I had heard that a nymph would help lead the alliance. I met the Golemus Nymph, and it didn't seem aggravating like either Wodin or the KC. I thought it likely that this Nelya nymph would be similar. The Lorerootian nymph tipped the balance to Loreroot's favor, and they are lucky to have me on their side today. The state of affairs is more or less agreeable, I suppose, as it is really NelyaSetesh holds the alliance together. The KC hardly ever attends to the alliance he formed. In fact, I do not believe he has said a word directly to us as a whole. Some may think that my desire for revenge is laughable, and consider my position in the Loreroot alliance ridiculous as my first priority isn't protecting the land. They do not know that hate is a powerful motivator, and willpower is the element that brings all things into motion. Hate can inspire love for those who would ally against your enemies, and in this way I love Loreroot. It may not be pure as another love, but with both hate and love I have vast motivation. Oh, and one more thing: if Khalazdad happens to get wind of this, I would like him to know that I need no reaction from him. All his thus far have been worthless and I don't trust any new ones to be better, so I'll just ignore if he does stupidly bother to dispute anything I've said. ~~~ Still here? My, aren't you just a precocious one. Well, I shall reward you for your display of insight and sense in listening to one great as I. Because logically I'm the best choice, I am the spymaster for Loreroot. Don't gape, or else I'll rethink my judgment of you! It's nothing special, and it means nothing if others know this. All it means is that I oversee the espionage of Loreroot. I can use the precious few people like you who show cunning. If you would like to work for the cause of Loreroot, here is your opportunity; just say so. Discreetly, of course, I'd hope you have enough wit to know that. Dear me, was I mistaken about you? Well hurry about it now! ~~~ Hmm? Oh, I joined Necrovion. Rejoined, rather. Well, it's not like I ever quit. This is what I told the members of Loreroot: I have sincere words I would like to leave to this alliance which may or may not be useful and interesting; either way, they communicate my true feelings, and I always feel the need to do that. I am leaving this alliance~ I would like to say that I really liked being a Lorerootian Guardian. I agree with the philosophy of this alliance and I love our community. I know that in the time after I leave this alliance will grow stronger than ever. Loreroot would be my first loyalty and I would stay in this alliance if Necrovion did not have an alliance. I joined the Guardians of the Root as a Necrovion spy. I could've spied in the Golemus alliance or the Seekers of Enlightenment because they both offered me a spot, but Khalazdad placed me in Loreroot. My duty was to report anything that Loreroot did concerning Necrovion. I found myself spying on other groups more than on the activity of Loreroot. In all my time in the alliance, I never reported anything that could've damaged Loreroot or help Necrovion (greatly)--an attestation to the strength of the guardians which garnered my great respect. I was planning to stay and become the Master of Spies in the alliance, reporting to Khalazdad information from spies who thought they reported to Loreroot. However, today I was notified that Khalazdad no longer feels the need for a spy to moniter Loreroot. It is a symbol of his faith in any of Loreroot's decisions that may occur in the future. He said I could stay in Loreroot if I wanted--because I might still be of use despite a lack of need--but I could not resist the temptation to be true to all and openly show my devotion to the Necrovion shades now that the opportunity has come. I hope Necrovion and Loreroot can help each other in the future! And now, I will leave Loreroot in time to escape Nelya's wrath--may she suntan in serenity. ~~~ Well, I suppose I might as well clear up some confusion that may exist. Sure, at one point, I did feel weirded out by the skull-symbol, but once that was cleared up, my devotion and admiration belonged to the shades once more. Khalazdad never once refused me. I would have picked Loreroot instead of Golemus had Khalazdad refused me for the reasons I listed, but the actual reason was that Khalazdad thought he might need me as a spy there more than in other alliances. I think those are the only discrepancies between what happened and what I said. Shades are cute!~
  4. Yeah, I get you. I think the Dojo doesn't support attacks because they want to focus on progress and coordination, but they may want some stricter enforcement. Well, either way, I don't care much Not yet; I haven't tried out the dojo.
  5. This is a really, really old topic but there was no reply, and I think it deserves one. I think a mini-tutorial would be good. Important information about game mechanics is scattered in easy to miss areas. Or is missing. Heat is one of the key features of the combat system but there's nothing about it ingame. You have to ask an older player, search the forums or observe for yourself to understand what it does and how to use it. A lot of players quit because the innovative concepts of MagicDuel are hard to grasp without help. Some ask, but others don't want to bother having to search for it. I think we lose a lot of potential players who would contribute because of the unnecessary frustrations, and an official FAQ (not the really small one you can access if you can click the LHO button) or some sort of combat tutorial would help.
  6. Hmm.. I would say, it gets other players' disapproval. While the dojo doesn't officially sanction attacks against players who attack in the dojo, it can't do anything about personal grudge. If someone attacked me in the area, I'd love to go around attacking that person whenever possible for displeasing me. It's allowed ingame, anyway. Not sure if I could use the frog spell though.
  7. Mm, although it would be better if we could prove ourselves to have some semblance of notability. In any case I don't think any article we make about MagicDuel will be deleted easily if we take the right steps.
  8. I disagree. If not for the two points Pi stated, I would be in favor of allowing lower mindpowers to attack higher mindpowers. For one thing, each mindpower does create separate communities. That doesn't mean there should be a lack of interaction between more advanced players and new players. I believe that players would continue first and foremost to target players within their mindpower, because that's the sensible thing to do. However, it won't harm to allow player to challenge themselves with targets in a higher mindpower. In real life, you set yourself to learn from those who are better than you, who you may want to surpass. Learning from others is a valuable thing. I think those who would benefit from daring to try higher mindpowers in order to learn deserve the benefit. It's like normal players talking to Khalazdad, in your thought. I don't think reward should be constrained to learning a certain, specified way. I think the main point of mindpowers was to prevent advanced players from getting easy wins from the newbies. I know the point of negative honor. The thing is, it isn't working like Manu imagined it would. The purpose it was supposed to serve was to prevent more advanced players from targeting weak players who have a lot of losses, and to encourage players to target those who had gotten many wins. Players instead farmed losses to get more honor from people who were getting losses naturally. Almost no one is balanced except new players, and thus it is the new players who are targeted. Those who have newly advanced in mindpower give tons of honor to veterans in that mindpower. There isn't enough incentive for players to keep balance instead of farm losses for honor. Cripes, the way things are, if you try to be balanced, you're crippled. You'll get negative honor from all the other people who have a ton more losses than you and eventually hit the -500 honor mark, where you can't gain combat reward. At that point, you're told that you're supposed to balance yourself, because the way the system was supposed to work, you would only get to that point if you kept on getting easy wins. The irony! The honor system would work if players kept balanced, but unfortunately the game offers little to encourage players to do that. I'm afraid I'm lost when you say my evaluation destroys the point behind the current system. I once blamed players for farming losses and making the honor system work badly, but that was wrong of me. Honor, exp and skill gain are the rewards for combat. If you don't make the reward correspond to your concepts behind the system, then the system won't work intuitively like it should. In this case, there isn't enough reward for balance. Players shouldn't need to evaluate the system deeply. It should be simple. The system should make it so that players are rewarded for doing the right thing: keeping balance. Instead, the way it is now, the system encourages players to farm losses instead. Are you complimenting the current system for making players think about the concepts in order to make the system work, instead of the rewards that are supposed to reflect them? Players aren't going to do that; they didn't. They shouldn't have to, and that's why the system is screwed up right now. That's plain and simple, a crappy system. What are game rewards for then? You might as well eliminate game rewards like honor, and instead tell players to obey the concept of honor. Khalz. Please, let me never have to endure talking to that annoying bastard for ten minutes. Stupid Khalz. Stupid shades. Oh, may lightning come down from the heavens and strike him down, so that the shades be freed from their laspe of logic and rational judgment and come back into the charm they once held for me. Anyway: But darn it, I don't want to play a game in which innocently looking for honor will make the system screw up. I love this player community. The people aren't stupid. If there is a problem in the game, it isn't the players' fault. I like the roleplaying features; I like talking to other players who have an intricate understanding of the MD world and are rewarded for it by being given a role ingame (not Khalazdad, but yeah). However, I think that important, central mechanics of the game like the combat system (reward being part of it, and honor being part of the reward system) should be perfected before we get all those lovely features. Otherwise, you have a multiplayer roleplaying game and that's it. I don't think MD is supposed to appeal only to roleplayers. I'd quit. Heck, I've heard Manu say that the game is supposed to allow an outlet for the creative minds of roleplayers, it's supposed to reward players who can involve themselves in the game more--but also allow statwhores to statwhore if they'd like (I'm paraphrasing, by the way). The game doesn't allow statwhores to do that happily yet. I love MagicDuel for its deep concepts. I would love it more if the game made the concepts work. The reason why I'm still playing is that I faithfully believe that it will occur one day, and that the terrible trials we're going through (I'm going through, not being able to statwhore happily >) currently are for that effect. Wow, I've derailed. It's your fault for talking about the honor and combat system It's a trigger for me. EDIT: ahh.. excuse me, were you referring to the topic creator's evaluation of honor? n_n; My apologies for ranting about an unrelated topic if so.
  9. Yami go back to your college essay (if you haven't finished)! Stop posting on the forums and read those six books you need to finish by the end of school! Do you want to get accepted by lousy schools?! You know what! if you get distracted so easily from your studies, you'll become a grocery bagger (no offense to grocery baggers) in an Asian supermarket. You'll grow old quickly before you get promoted; you'll be one of those frail, small Asian ladies whose faces are worn wrinkles because of the menial work. They have to wear hairnets to prevent the short hair (they have short hairstyles) from falling out, as the hairs fall out easily because they're stressed and overworked. You see them wearing aprons and squinting through large square glasses and sweeping the aisles hurriedly and stocking shelves haphazardly and frowning irritably at little adorable children who play in the supermarket. That'll be you. Or you'll just become a bum because you can't keep up with rental payments. You hear that?! Saki-bum! Do you like the sound of that?! DO YOU?! Don't come back here, you lazy bum! Don't even reply! Go back to work!
  10. Ahhh, I'm really late. Happy birthday and good luck with the dojo.
  11. Hmm.. death. I've experienced one death in the story. That route was just like any other, no difference, except it ended really early. It was tougher that way, because I missed out on some stat gain, but it was okay. I don't know if there are other routes in which death occurs, but even so I doubt it'd be different.
  12. I believe some rpcs will have an interactive avatar on the map like Wodin. SmartAlekRJ, for instance. The thing is, either they haven't reached the point in the story which would justify it or the area they would have their avatar in is currently closed to the majority of the players (RJ, being the Drachorn Master, would be in Golemus). Some rpcs won't have an avatar on the map, I think, because they don't have a role which makes them stationary and merit allowing combat interaction with normal players. I know only some rpcs have the ability to attack lower mindpowers, but not how many of them will be attackable through that feature. As for the MD shop feature, that's all and good until you realize that you're in a lower mindpower than the rpc who attacked you and you can't attack back (the issue we're talking about here).
  13. I believe that Manu doesn't want a wiki for MagicDuel. Game wikis are basically databases of information related to the game: creatures, their stats, game mechanics, maps, secret features, walkthroughs, etc. The thing is, these are considered critical spoilers in MD; they're not allowed ingame, on the forums, and are strongly disapproved of elsewhere because they eliminate the discovery and learning aspect to MD. Technically, you could create one if you wanted to, but it would bring unhappiness to many players even if it makes some players happy for the easy knowledge. I imagine players who contribute to something like that will face complaints and more (frog spells from me ). However, back to the topic of a wikipedia article, I think we can do it. MagicDuel isn't really notable to wikipedia's standard at the moment, but if we highlight different things (ratings on game portals, any professional reviews, etc) we might manage to escape deletion. I looked up Renaissance Kingdoms or whatever it's called and it has an article on wikipedia, though it's been tagged as lacking in third party references and therefore under review for notability. I read the general guidelines for notability on wikipedia and it said deletion is a "last resort" when it's not yet been decided if the article is notable or not. So why not create one now? It could still help our recognition, and even if it does get scrapped, we can have an idea of how to best go about creating a wikipedia article for when we do achieve notability. Any input?
  14. I was asking about this too earlier when the update on mp6 came out. I don't think anyone understood me. I said that the requirements for mp6 were listed in bullets under the place which used to say something like "QUEST" and below: "UNDER CONSTRUCTION." I know that if the routes that end in chapter two didn't have that. I think it could be that only people who have access to chapter 3 (and possibly only people who took a certain route in chapter 3, not sure) can go to mp6. The update also doesn't say that all mp5s would get to go to mp6.
  15. Hmm.. we've been hearing some complaint about this recently. Don't know if it's a bug or not, but if it is, it only affects some people. This is what I wrote in the another topic (about energy bursts, but it still relates), just in case you didn't think about it:
  16. I'm thinking of splitting/moving the topic. It's really long for a good-bye topic. Hmm.. in a way, he wasn't really wanting to say good-bye so much as make a point about his thoughts of allowing rpcs to attack weaker players. In that manner it's sort of a duplicate topic of Gchick's. To add to that, the response is more related to that issue than saying good-bye back. Hnn. ~_~ I'll think about it.

    No Man's Land

Does no one consider that No Man's Land is no man's land?! It's neutral, sure, but it's also not some place for some silly group of humans to pronounce, "This is our land!" You should go stake out a claim in the underground area of Marind Bell. MB people don't go down there anyway. I think phrog does have an objective: to use his members to spread rumors, sometimes false but sometimes true. He's just a bit fancy in his language and doesn't like stating things so bluntly. He wants to laud their lack of ties to any official stand or bond with the other lands. I still don't really see how that sort of alliance needs a land. I mean, Guardians of the Root is dedicated to defending Loreroot, the Golemus-alliance whose name I don't bother memorizing represents the views of Golemus Golemicarum, etc. Why be bound to a land at all if you don't have any special obligation to one? Same with Udgard's alliance idea. No Man's Land is no man's land! Understand?! The only other name it has is newbie-land, and that's not really because newbies covet or possess it but because they tend to populate those areas.
  18. How exclusive.. I feel unwelcome. Hello, though not an special hello to you since you didn't give one to me. n__n
  19. Loreroot is actively recruiting for it's unofficial support group. Active members in the support group who prove their worth join the official alliance. If you want to apply, please click here and present yourself in a post answering the questions listed there.
  20. He posted a story that has to do with striving for balance (Adept of Dao? or was that someone else?). Having two titles is something that would be unique. I think that most rpcs who once had another title (i.e. Bug Finder, LHO, etc) before becoming a rpc dropped that one to take on a different title which corresponds to the role they take on. After all, the role you have as a rpc is the first priority; you are, for example, the Firestarter who acts as an LHO as well, not the LHO who acts as the Firestarter as well. The title is something you go by. Would you cease to become the Adept of Dao to be a Dojo Enforcer (or whatever) for some time? It's not as if I see anything wrong with having more than one title, since people are called different things for the different roles they play logically; but it's not like I see something wrong with the way things are now. I don't really have an opinion on allowing multiple titles. However, I still don't see the need to reward titleholders in that manner (skill buffs).

    No Man's Land

I'm not sure.. No Man's Land is No Man's Land. Being an alliance of No Man's Land is kind of contradictory in a way. It belongs to no man, don't you see? If you don't want to be tied to any land, if you want to wander about and all, don't be tied to No Man's Land either, because it is a land (although no man's land). Maybe a neutral sort alliance with no land, but not No Man's Land. It just doesn't make sense to me. No Man's Land isn't just neutral. It's no man's.. Oh, am I starting to repeat now?
  22. Mm, those are things I didn't think about. I'm all for some fixing with the honor system, but that might not happen for a while. In the meantime, allowing players in mp3 to attack less balanced players in the other mindpowers would be a bit pointless, unless the player is just curious to see what ritual a more advanced player has and trusts that he will lose, therefore not receiving any penalty in honor. (If someone needs a more detailed explanation on why the honor system is currently screwed up in a way that prevents this idea of allowing lower mps to attack higher mps from being feasible, just ask. I'd love to rant about it even if you can already find explanations elsewhere in the forums if you search.) As for the easier wins for mp3s what with the weak defenses advanced players sometimes put up, you have a point there too. I'm not sure that a lot of players put up those rituals, but if one player has a ton of those rituals set up and goes idle, a mp3 could easily reach max exp within a short duration of time. It would take some luck to find that ritual amongst all the other mp5s (or mp4s) that set up strong (or random but still powerful enough to kill newbies easily) rituals, but once found.. It's a dilemma I don't like, because I think there are some good advantages to allowing lower mps to attack the higher ones.
  23. No, Lu, I dare say your flawed logic is grasping but failing to reach reality. For it would not be relevant, for while it would support the fact that there are those who do attack for personal gain, it does not support that it must be officially recognized that they should restrain from like actions. For, you see, that argument, that rpcs do attack for personal gain, isn't sufficient enough to condemn the occurrence. It is allowed in the game. Practically encouraged by lack of punishment, lack of official condemnation. The issue I was singularly addressing was the condemnation of the occurrence, and as I have affirmed over and over, it doesn't matter yes or no to the question of whether or not rpcs have done it: there is already the fact that it is allowed. Do you understand? I don't know, I've repeated it so many times. Now, don't be so bitter. One of us is the stupid one, and we're both trying to enlighten the other. There's nothing wrong with that, and in fact it is productive and not squabbling, though perhaps unrelated to the topic at hand in the forums considering that most people know what I mean.
  24. Come now, you little dolt. Acknowledge your stupidity for suggesting that my post would suggest to others that I thought that RJ attacked for personal gain. Now, why? Why would it sound like that? A normal person would be able to understand me perfectly. Understand in the first place that whether or not RJ attacked for such reasons is irrelevant, and that I'm logical enough to know that as near anyone would. But I forgive your stupidity. We all have in ourselves stupidity, you know. It's not like the stupid person is at fault, as that stupid person is earnest and honestly believes what he stupidly thinks. It is just annoying. In fact, saying one is stupid isn't really an insult. Just because you are a relative does mean I have the liberty to take for this sort of message, dear Lu. I am in the process of bringing you up, whereas to others I don't have the obligation, and in fact, that sort of action would be offensive and unwanted. At least on the forums, which isn't meant for that at all but rather the discussion of the game.
  25. I like the idea of being able to attack players in higher mindpowers. Hey, why not? It gives the weaker players a chance to see what kind of strategies the more advanced players use, and besides--believe it or not, mp5s can be defeated by players in mp4, and mp4s by mp3s with the right strategies sometimes. Especially if those players have tree def rits That might help with the lack of targets in the lower mindpowers. Glad to see that your'e still here, Calyx And it would be more realistic. Give a challenge. n__n Not to mention allow those in lower mindpowers to be able to attack rpcs in higher mp levels back when those rpcs attack them for personal gain. Heh. Oh, and about the honor reward when winning in a defending right: I don't see why not for this either.
