  1. I am also open to other options for obtaining information. If you don't want to spy for Loreroot in the purpose of helping the alliance and would rather exchange information or something else, feel free to contact me as well. Anyone may contact me if they want to report a tidbit, regardless of who they are in association with the LR alliance and whether or not they're one of my spies. Often enough information comes our way when we aren't seeking it. I value almost all information about most topics, so I won't grudge anything sent to me.
  2. UPDATE: I am no longer Loreroot's Master of Spies nor part of the Lorerootian alliance!~ Please refer to the third post down. Like any other alliance we maintain an interest in the internal affairs of certain peoples. Currently we are in need of spies, to be blunt. As a spy you will be part of the support group, but you won't be listed in any place others outside the alliance might see. Meaning, you won't be added to the official list of SG members in either the fansite forums or the MD forums. Most likely only I and Nelya will know your identity. For now I am in charge of all espionage activity as spymaster for Loreroot. That means if you want to spy for us, you'll be overseen by and report solely to me. Contact me discreetly; for obvious reasons you should not associate yourself publicly with Loreroot, so don't post here or join the forums. I'll be asking you: Why do you want to help Loreroot rather than another alliance? What is your opinion about the current state of affairs in the MD lands? Do you have any objectives besides helping Loreroot? Why do you want to be a spy rather than help Loreroot other ways? What alliance/group do you think you can infiltrate and spy in most easily, and why? What will tactics would you use in espionage, given the liberty to choose? I reserve the right to tell you how and where to spy, but I tend to believe that people know themselves and their capabilities best so I will consider what you say carefully. I also expect my spies to be flexible and sensible, in case an opportunity or choice presents itself during espionage activity and must be answered immediately. Therefore I will search for signs of such characteristics in your response.
  3. Yeah, updated the post again. Will continue updating as list of members grows, which it happily will. *cough* I would love some more spies. Please pm me if interested.
  4. Humm? You turn your nose at the majesty of the tree? Stupid lout. I make fun of people by you; I laugh at people like you. Hohoho! Ohoho! You'd have to recruit the likes of firestarters for that sort of junk, and even if you could do that, I'm afraid we can prevent further trouble. Easily. Don't doubt the elite Guardians of Loreroot! We can defend from would-be-arsonists! O-OHOHOHO HO HO.
  5. Murr.. I create poetry with original form. A tree for me for a fairy I be who larks about and merrily shouts at stupid louts-- those who pose and turn the nose at the majesty of the tree. Mmhmm. 8D
  6. Hmm. That is what you think about when I am talking about what? Unless you mean that to be me? . . . What is this? It's cute, but--?
  7. *snorts* You just wait. You're an amateur. My glory is has far greater depth; it's like as of another nature, really. One day true incomprehension will dawn on you. I do see your style. A barrage of words--crude. I shall graciously let you anticipate the disillusionment I will bring upon, as a true master of this art. I hope you look forward to it.
  8. WHY YOU! I can match that. I can. I am Glaistig. No one matches me. Your thread. . . it has knots, but not enough! To make a successful maze, you twist, you turn, you encircle, you. . . well, okay, I don't know the rest, but the point is--YOU ARE NO MATCH FOR ME! Do you think that rant made my head hurt? Do you think to best me, to make a fool of me?! Well, you'd better watch out. You'd better wait. There will be a time when my potential is fully revealed, a time when you will go, "Wtf is with this person?!" despite all your efforts to understand! Mine is of incomprehensible glory! Or mine glory is of incomprehensibility! Either way! You think not clearly in this attempt of dominance! Just you wait! My superiority will show through eventually, when I deign it a good time. Heheasdhhehe.
  9. Yamisaru... thou art Saki-bum hithermore. For what purpose doth Minory serve if not to constantly nag thee to do thy massive load of work as Lu nagged me to finish my summer homework? She neglecteth her work and duty! Marry! I can do what Minory would hath done proper for thy sake! Thou errant, clay-brained mammet! Thou hast thy duty to do thy work, and work as thy duty! O' thy dark, unlucky days to come! if thou continuest to ignore thy work and duty. Nay, it is my very obligation! to keep thou from thy foul fate as a bumbling bum even by posting such posts in such a topic as this. Thy immoral lack of guilt, thy initiative to create a topic of such a nature, harketh to me! So, for thy sake, be inspired by my words, for thrice do I now remind you: THOU HAST THY DUTY TO DO THY WORK, AND WORK AS THY DUTY!
  10. Nooonono, I still don't get it. I wasn't referring to his .'s or *'s in the first place. Why does it have to be capitalized? It completely changes the character of the name, and thus the identity of the namebearer. Observe: Glaistig glaistig If it was originally phrog, I petition it to stay so if there isn't a need to change it. It doesn't look better at all to me by capitilizing it; it hurts my head. Same with alche. Now, if they want a name change, that's something else. You can make the story reflect their wishes then. I like phrog's branch so far, maybe slightly more than the others, though I think the impact of those little details were lost on me a bit because I wasn't paying much attention to it once I realized the "p" in "phrog" was capitalized. And I don't know if I like how those quotes are set up. But otherwise, I like it.
  11. I swear! I thought we all loved each other, but now I hear people spreading false rumors about goat-hood, gender issues--even word of a plot to bring down the Glaistig with little men. . .!
  12. RJ.. n_n; ahm, rpcs participate in the head contest solely to make it "more interesting" and provide competition to those who have been holding a lot of heads unopposed, right? And then, you aren't supposed to use two accounts in that manner--one to help the other? Next time, Sol, get screenshots.
  13. You suck at this, Ren. Just kidding--of course. Ahm, the updates seem to come in spurts. We should get one each day! As for the writing.. I think it's fine, although there is also some room for improvement. They're not really engrossing to me, but they give me a sense of what's going on. I'd think they could be both, you know, satirical and serious at the same time? I like the report style, but even those reports can contain humor while having unbiased words. So, work on the creativity and interactivity, you lot! Also, some more proofreading. Like, does no one think about how "phrog" has been punctuated incorrectly several times in those entries? It hurts my head. >D I've been missing a while, so what is that new alliance about Legend Telling? Is it related to the AL or is it just like those legends Yami writes and posts?

What was that, dst? I see, vanity. You want D for dst, is that it? Too bad. *votes C*
  15. Bastard. Envy our American universities!
  16. pregunta, Lu, pregunta. And the infinitive form of the word is preguntar. It's a regular -ar verb. Welcome to MD
  17. Huh. What do you say about me behind my back, Yami? Tell! *snickers* Haha, I bet you didn't think that Lu and I might talk about you in real life. We can match thy uncomfortable freakiness 8D You know you spend too much time when you start "You know you've been on MD too much when..." topics. ...and for me: You know you've been on the MD forums too much when you spend more time on the forums than the game. n_n; Last--for the both of us--you know you spend too time much on MD when you're supposed to be doing homework instead. :') Yami~ For what was that good-bye characterized by the silent, mournful weeping on both sides? Are we both fated to placidly ignore our own forum signatures telling us we shouldn't be on MD? How is your homework now? EDIT: Just so we all know, I was here and in the process of writing this post before Pi got here, although I happened to get disrupted by a loose power cord falling out of place. >_> So, you know, my part about creating "You know you've been on MD too much" topics is more legit than his. ... You know you spend too much time on MD when you spend the time to debate whether or not what you write is more legitimate than another player's words in a "You know you've been on MD too much..." topic.

Lies, I don't think that. Ohohoho, how kind and gracious I am. I'm getting high on it. *votes C* There is some sort of thing, you know, like you have two options: A) Option A B) Option B and then the cliche where you go, "There is always another option!" and I associate C with that. Oho. EDIT: ... for some reason, I didn't notice that there wasn't an option labelled "C." >_> I'm not voting!
  19. I (Lulu) had that with Firefox before I updated my flash player. Then it went away, I think. Yeah :-D take over the computer and don't bother logging out and back in.
  20. Mm.. well, consider that newbies don't get to compete and see if they're doing well or not among the people who are playing the game the first time around. They can't really test themselves and say, "Oh, I'm near max exp, and I'm besting all the other players at my level in this head contest; doing pretty good." They instead expect the people on the leaderboard to have been played the game for far longer which does mean a great deal. They can participate, sure, they can try and learn something, but they're not truly competing for the purpose one might imagine a head contest to exist for: to prove yourself against similar players, ones who've been playing the game for about the same amount of time as you. That's why I can kind of feel how alternate accounts of veterans winning head contests is unfair. Neither do I really see how winning against newbies is really fun and enjoyable. Creating an ideal account once you've learned the mechanics of MD does sound nice, but if you're going to compete with it, shouldn't you wait until you hit the higher mp levels like mp5? When you'd be against people of similar age and experience? And as for the rpc part, I can feel the pain. Until they gained their special powers, they were like any other player and worked just as hard. But then again, you know, you sort of expect some sacrifice for those powers. Rpcs not being able to attack was a rule established pretty long ago, when there were just a few rpcs, too. So, I guess that's why rpcs usually create an alternate.
  21. I like that idea. I'm still not sure things like this, even considered reasonable and easy to enforce, would happen soon, but we can always try.
  22. I sort of understand both sides. Multiple accounts are legit in the game, as long as you don't really cheat by interacting between two accounts. Logically, players who have an account in mp3 and participated in the head contest like Morgana as ReaperDeathSeal didn't do anything wrong. The creatures were still trained as any player could; the tactics anyone could use. The only thing is that these people have gained more experience with the MD mechanics than average players in lower mindpowers and use them. But having a newbie mp3 contest with veteran players does feel unfair in a way. Sure, it's only experience, but experience can make a great difference. I don't feel like newbie mp3s have a chance at demonstrating their grit, when they're not really competing against others who are in the same situation. Is it truly an accomplishment to win a mp3 head contest when you're fighting against newbies? Yes--the head contest is a way of testing player behavior. However, this unjustice players feel at some aspect of the (mandatory) head contest can discourage them from liking the game, encourage them to quit for a period of time if not permanently. Whats the fun in a head contest when you feel like it's not fair? One thing is disallowing use of alternate accounts in head contests would be hard to enforce. I don't think anything is likely to change at least for this contest. A positive aspect of having alternate accounts in mp3 head contests is being able to see what more experienced players are doing. Continue to hope for change if you want, but take the chance to get the most you can and learn as well.
  23. This was what I was looking for, not some unjustified blather about the world being unbalanced and war necessary. Although I do think that might merit another topic; it's true we don't know any more than you about the world (although it doesn't mean you know something). Discussion about theories of how the MD world is, what to do about it, etc is good. It's logical, though, to me, how war would be put at least on hold and peace prolonged. You need only affirm that all the powerful factions of the world don't wish to attack another alliance without specified provocation agreed prior to the occurrence by all sides as necessitating war to stop or punish: a treaty. Written, yes! Within alliances, leaders, the ones who would sign this treaty, should be able to enforce their rules in accordance to the treaty. One person should not be able to start a war so easily. There are three main military alliances: Golemus, Necrovion and Loreroot. Should one break the treaty, the other two can join together in efforts to set things right. Although Golemus and Necrovion seem to be at odds, Loreroot is neutral as far as I can tell and I don't doubt that it is dependable for doing the right thing. And if other forces should grow in power or arrive to upset the treaty, the joined powers can pressure the new force to sign the treaty. I don't say it's not infallible, but it's better than nothing. I agree that war is sometimes justified and reasonable, but the one we keep talking about as approaching doesn't seem so to me. If there is to be a war, the reason for it should be clear. Plain bloodmongering because of a slight discord between philosophies and objectives is stupid, considering the sacrifice of what could be achieved in peace. And once again, please don't underestimate the value of peace. War is fun, but so is friendly competition between lands--and the evolution such competition would bring is far more productive than a war that is unjustified. As for truths and perceptions: it is true, not a single one can know for sure a fact of this world. But doesn't that mean you shouldn't act as if you do? I think theories, especially ones that might prompt controversy and increase tensions between different powers, should be discussed openly before action is taken based on such theories. A single person's opinion, unopen and stubborn, is not helpful. A collection of opinions, flexible and able to be inferenced by logic of others, is something that can create great things. A single last thing, at Logan specifically: you keep on referring to this "light." I don't know what it is; I have no idea if you mean what I do strive for by the word or something else. Do you refer to peace? The goal to do things reasonably and cooperatively with the people of all lands? If you are referring to such things, don't label it "light." I don't get how the concepts correlate at all. It confuses me, making me refrain from responding until I'm sure of the meaning. You were the one who spoke to me of stereotypes, classifying lands as "light" or "dark" and correspondingly "good" or "evil"; don't create such stereotypes yourself.
  24. The dojo isn't officially acknowledged by the game yet (although it might get there; there are even titles for dojo operators), so if/until that happens, changes to the game because of the dojo aren't likely to happen. Another factor is that the places of the dojos aren't set yet. The dojo at the moment is more of a cooperation between players to make something they like happen, and it works considerably well this way, if you think about it.
