Subforum in local legends, maybe? I've been wanting to post a narrative.. >_>; Since Robin first posted his story. I have it all written up. But Lu says it's lame, so I've been waiting for a ton of people to post their stories so I can feel less self-conscious about it. Still indecisive.

Charming! Look how he strives earnestly to earn his fifty adepts although the odds are obviously pitted against him considering his pathetic character; quite admirable, hmm? If you are the type to take pity and help the poor struggling creature, you must be quite "awesumm," I would think. And if that expression repulses you, translate that to "awesome": 1: expressive of awe <awesome tribute> 2 a: inspiring awe <an awesome task> b: terrific, extraordinary <had an awesome time> Coined 1598! Even though MB recklessly butchers the English language, he can't really help it. That and other tragic flaws are part of his nature. But he does, at least, earnestly try; we who mercifully take notice of it are brought up from our own personal lowliness by and brought closer to achievement of character. Let us partake in the relieving of the pitiable and the bettering of ourselves.

I can understand the joy in having "gods" for the game, for such a reward existing for the most accomplished players of the game. Yet it's pretty much been demonstrated that the powers aren't used only to add depth to the game by the rpcs; in some instances, it's been used at the expense of normal players who haven't done anything wrong (I'm pretty sure this instance with Ren isn't the only one) and it's likely it will repeat. I don't think it would undermine the integrity of the rpcs' status to have a certain limit for what they could do. To Gchick's question about whether or not Ren's actions, in their entirety even considering that his intent wasn't only to make the contest more fun (if that was ever his intent), were legitimate: yes, they were. But that's why I feel like something must be changed. At this time, the only thing players can do when something similar occurs is say that it was unfair, and then hold a grudge if they'd like. What regulations? I don't really know. Maybe just: "If a rpc does something that unnecessarily causes strife with little reason except for his/her own gain as judged by superiors (oldest rpcs, admin), there will be a warning. If the behavior repeats, the rpc will have the powers he/she is abusing taken away from him. If the offense is serious enough, he/she will be stripped from his role completely." It's vague, but it'd be comforting to know we aren't completely at the rpcs' mercy if they turn out to be someone who would do that sort of thing.

I am trying to do my homework, see, but a certain someone keeps on bothering me, you know? I have the document open, see, and I manage to write a few sentences between intervals of answering pms I tend to prefer forum pms anyway because the game is a bit slower. But yeah, I agree it's something that wants changing.

Mm, the system now is kind of inconvenient. We have to hunt the person down to be able to message him/her for the first time, and dig up an old message to reply to from then on. But I have to say, there is a certain fun in it, especially when it comes to messaging rpcs for their quests. *cough* Anyway, yeah, it would be a lot more intuitive; maybe another MD feature?

Yesss... About this, dst. . . you're a hardworking guy, how about you merge all of them into one thing and tell me? :-D I mean, uh, homework and all. . . x_x I don't mind doing it, it's just, it would have to wait, you know, maybe two weeks or so before I could start. Is that bad?
-
So for the Hello forum, what do you classify as old?
-
How about this: I think I'm the only one who cares about the old topics. So, to make things less cluttered, I will merge the old ones into one topic for my own use regularly, and make it invisible. <3 Or just save them onto my computer and delete them, either way. jk. . . halfway. I really am offering it, though. 8-D
-
They're pretty similar, I think. Spanish and Portuguese.
-
Hmm.. you say we need more organization, and I agree, but in the Hello forum? There's not much there, just hello topics, so I don't see what could be organized, unless you want to delete it and make a big topic (but I don't see the need) to stick in one of the other forums. It seems the main thing which makes people object to one big topic is 1) it'll be cluttered 2) they will lose some sense of individuality. Maybe we could make an Introduction thread in either the General Stuff or Offtopic forum which will be pinned, and new members can introduce themselves casually/fill out a informalish form but no replies allowed (instead members can comment on the new member's profile). I dunno, just an idea. It'd be a little more organized, but it would seem a lot more awkward to me.
-
Oh! Welcome, been a while since a new player said hello (players who've been playing for a little have been the ones posting introductions lately). And ask questions, all you want.
-
Yes! Use my immaculate English as a model. ahh D: My English.. I'm a native English speaker.. so why? i__i Why is it that others use English correctly when I can't, and their first language was something other than English? Why, actually, is English such a horrid language? Why, for that matter, are they even fluently bilingual? I can't speak to my relatives.. Muhh. I'm learning Spanish. >_>" Bienvenido a MagicDuel. Ten un buen tiempo jugando. Ya tengo muchos errores, yo se. Voy a ir y estar triste solo.

Is it me or do I not see a flash pop up? @_@
-
Actually, I think that message was intended only for Yami, because her stories officially represent the game (she's the "Legend Teller"; that was the title granted to her). However, I think it's more agreeable if you try stick close to the truth as possible and limit your story to MD. But it's allowed either way.

What?! Did you call me a fool? You're a fool, slighting me.. I'm joking of course. I'm faking my indignation, sure. > I don't grudge others for justified feelings; naturally, I am a most rational, composed person. But umm, what is the foolish part? I'm not sure I get you. If it's the idea of eliminating the Hello forum: I don't see the difference between one big topic in a separate forum alone (dst's idea?) and one big topic in another forum it fits well with organizationally, except that the former unnecessarily wastes space and looks ugly. If it's the idea of merging posts regularly: if we had a single topic for it, the clean-up merging thing would only have to happen once, anyway, and from then on that would be the place people would post their introductions. The Hello forum currently has 118 topics.. I could manage it without spending too much effort. >_>; I don't like the idea of mass-deleting (which is an option) all the topics, however; I feel uneasy erasing so casually what people have written when there is another option. If it's the idea of merging old posts into a designated archive-topic regularly in reference to my previous suggestion in which the Hello forum remains (and you quoted the wrong post): the frequency of "Hello" topics doesn't seem too high for someone to manage regularly to me. @_@ But I do think it would be unnecessary work if we could have one big topic in one of the other forums. EDIT: Oh, and you'd better not think the foolish part is that I seem like I don't have a commitment to act out my own suggestions. > Only, of course, because that'd be wrong, and it's better to be right than wrong. It's not like I get offended when others are wrong; what sense would that make? To be sure.. Ah, on another topic, I also don't want some old topics about the game (I think there are a lot) to get deleted in this clean-up, if possible. What do you think of a forum for old topics, which are still informative but not necessarily up-to-date? Also, it looks like people are using the Storyline forum for their own stories, not discussing MD's story. Should there be another forum for the roleplaying stories players make?
-
Hmm.. well, if we're going to be doing a clean-up: Why do we need a hello forum anyway? We could have one big thread in the General Stuff or Offtopic one.
-
Ahh~ /: Hmm.. We are on a cleaning splurge! How about we create one topic for old hellos? Merge the topics which are pretty old into a sort of archive-topic, so that if people want to read from back when they were newbies, they can still do it with the search function.
-
I don't see what's wrong with how things are now? Having multiple topics gives a sense of individuality to the new members' introductions and aren't too hard to manage as is, since we don't really get "hello" topics that often. The forum would look a bit empty with only one huge thread or a few for different countries.

Hmm.. Say, if you call me "uber awesome" and acknowledge that you're supposed to be my minion only I'm too awesome to humiliate you so, I'll help you. I'll even put off awesomely helping shadowice. And Lulu, because she's my awesome pet, will help you too. That's two. And plus however many awesome people I can convince. Say, if you don't, then let all know that MB here is supposed to be my minion, only he's too unawesome to acknowledge it and I'm too awesome to have an unawesome minion, and you should become my awesome adept instead of his unawesome adept.
-
Hmm.. the only thing I can think of immediately: Do you have the latest version of flash installed?
-
Welcome > You must've seen a lot of my posts, hmm.. I feel like I post a lot. Like maybe, more than anyone else. But it's not like I can really tell. But what I do know is I shouldn't be posting, or at least not to an amount which feels like a lot, or maybe more than anyone else, and I should be doing homework. Yes, I don't think I should be posting "hello" even now. Oh well, it's too late now.

Actually, you get out of the Cabin with an arrow in the doorway. Like Bootes, I also want to ask if you're sure you've triggered the arrow yet Are you at the part in the scroll where it tells you to go out and explore? Until then, the arrow won't appear. Try clear cache and cookies, although technically if you've switched browsers that's probably not it. Unless you've used both browsers for magicduel before; then that could be it. What do you mean it never stopped loading? Did some images not appear? Magicduel constantly feeds you new information to download, so it can refresh the playerlist, chat, stats, and send notifications, ect.; it'll tell you that in the status bar. That's normal. If it's something else, try describe with more specific details or better, post a screenshot.

@AP idea, the regen value for alliances vary. Loreroot has a 25 minute timer but gets 50 AP for each turn. There are pros and cons to each alliance. :0

Hmm. Is there any message you get on the login page you redirect to, like: Array ( [0] => *verify invalid account [1] => *auth failed ) or Array ( [0] => *verify invalid pass [1] => *auth failed ) ? That would mean either you are trying to log in with an incorrect account name or an incorrect password. Otherwise, what browser are you using? Do you have the latest version of Flash installed?

It's hot and sticky here, summer, you know. Supposed to be a drought; can't really know, but apparently the lake has fallen to the lowest level since thirty years ago. > Welcome. Thankfully, you can forget such unpleasant things playing (if you're in an air-conditioned room).
