1. If this is a MD Council sponsered quest, how does this compley with not telling people the winners of the quest?

 3. This has been accomplished successfully. Thank you for your patience.
 4.
Basically Chewett wants us to spoil him how to easily get his mp3 alts into Loreroot. Anyway, this seems like it'll be fun enough, so I'll try to get some alt out to defeat them. Is there something like a deadline, or can we take all the time we want?
Definately, you got me. Damn! When someone does it, i will announce, and then wait a bit longer, depending on "how" they do it. Some ways will be nicer than others. The more effort needed that a newer player wouldnt necessarily be able to do, will affect the reward.
 5. This is planned to occur in half an hour
 6. I primarily want to prove that it is possible, without too much money or help. Iv talked to a lot of people saying it is impossible, but i wanted to test that.
 7. I have a quest for all mindpowers, It is to beat the LR guards (both of them) at MP3. If you are not MP3 you should create a secondary account to do this and participate in the quest. Some methods to beat the guards are not permitted to win the quest. I shall not detail them due to the fact this would be a spoiler but you can contact me to ask if something is or isnt permitted. A winner will send me full logs and a description of how they beat them. Including important details like creatures, anything used, and stats. There will be rewards for anyone that can beat both, also rewards for peolpe that can beat one. Any guenuinely new MP3 that can beat them will also eligible for a prize no matter if the initial prize is claimed. I am still in discussions with the council, but i believe at the moment since this quest is a theory one and not possible at other mindpowers, i will reward any of the winners accounts the reward. This is however open to discussion from the council but i do not see any issue with this. The reward is likely to be either a WP, or something that the user wants, i have a 6th anni aramor that possibly could go to a better home, along with a variety of creatures and spells. Essentially the winner can ask for something and we can discuss it. This quest is to see if any of the smart MD players can beat them, so that we can work out how and if they need to be changed, due to changes in how some of the creatures in the LR guards army works. Good luck to all :) ==== UPDATE: Ann. 2894 - [2014-01-11 20:42:50 - Stage 12] Posted By Chewett Ary Endleg was the first to present a strategy and win against the LR guards at MP3. For this effort he has been rewarded a wishpoint. The contest to win against the guards at MP3 will remain open but further wins may not necessarily give a reward.
 8. Ann. 2542 - [2013-04-25 02:40:18 - General] Planned maintenance is scheduled 22:00 to 23:00 to work on some of the scenes in MD. During this period of time you may be unable to move or see scenes. Further information will be posted on the forum during the work and any issues you are experiencing can be posted on the appropriate topic. We hope to minimise the disruption during this time however please be aware of these issues during the time. Thank you
 9.
Eagle Eye, I am trying to upload my submission and they keep failing. They are well within the parameters. I am getting this Uploading is not allowed message. Who do I speak to of this?
upload them on any one of the thousands of image hosting websites
 10.
Quite a few murders were, in a way, a punishment, only not one from council/Mur.
I agree in that that many killings were punishment, but not from Mur/council/authority.
But back to the point, I don't think the jail system really is there to be nicer than banning. I believe it's rather there because MD is what we make it, so banning a player is like banning a part of MD. It's the same reason why you can't get your account deleted. When you remove a player you remove part of MD history, which should only be done in the most extreme cases.
It seems we are saying the same things its nicer in regards to keeping MD as MD, in that as you said, banning removes a player. Actually one such player has actually returned after a ban, but i wont name him as he may not. So its not necessarily as final as it seems.
 11.
But since about 1 year that i play i get not that impression, personnaly i was threaten of banning first intead of being contact with explanation or nice discution firts (for my participation in gardening),
I would ask if you have proof of them saying you will be banned, rather than being jailed. I would think you more misunderstood if initially, not understanding how things work. Trust me, Ban has only been used by massive spammers or those who have attempted to maliciously broken the game rather than you advocating growing and smoking illegal drugs.
nd i have seen many death just for fun of it (and that is really an disguise banning for undertermine length , depend of others players or concil ) . in fact what i see in forum , is more the feeling of jumping to threaten or judge "apriory" with the most severe outcome first, and look only after ...
No one has ever been killed as a punishment in my knowledge. Feel free to point out where someone has been killed as a punishment.
 12.
If you can catch me running around as a fugitive (jail is so easy to escape),
You are correct, Perhaps you should read about the reasoning why jail is so easy to escape. http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/13988-did-you-know-jail/
 13. Over the past couple days iv had a lot of questions and in both chat and PM form about Jail. Why can people escape? Why are they allowed to play? Why are they not just banned? and i thought it might be interesting for me to post the responses on the forum. What is the difference between Jail and Banning? The main difference between MD and other games is that there are two primary punishment methods. Jailing and Banning. If you are Jailed you are sent to the jail scene and marked as a convict. If you are banned you cannot play, cannot login, cannot do anything. In MD's history very very few people have been banned, the preferred mechanism for punishing people is jail. So why have two methods? When you are banned you are essentially not permitted to play the game. However when jailed you can still do a large number of actions, including escaping, sending PM's and still being involved in the world. Being sent to jail can just be part of your character and a number of players have successfully woven this into their characters history. Jailing a character allows them to continue to do what they were, and gives a much larger range of actions than just being banned. Jail as a punishment is the exclusion from the main "outside" world, many people treat jail as a ban, and dont bother logging on, but a smaller subset has roleplayed their being in jail, given jail "reports" on the forum or escaped and continued to play. Jail is so easy to escape! Over the past years iv seen numerous convicts stating that "Jail is so easy to escape" rather smugly, as if it is some achievement. Its humorous to see that they dont know very much about it. Jail is designed to be relatively easy to escape. I didnt understand why it was so easy to escape until i talked to Mur about it and being able to escape fits in perfectly with letting people "play" while being punished. If we wanted to, we could easily stop you from escaping it, and if we wanted to go all the way we would just remove jail completely and ban you. But thats not what MD is about. MD is different. Just like resetting the GoE piller combinations, methods to escape the jail have slowly changed so that they are not entirely widespread, It keeps it as a level so that people need to do some work to work out exactly how to escape. But the likelihood is, at least while im around, there will always be a way to escape, provided you are smart enough to work it out, and have some friends to help. If you are sent to jail, you can wait out your sentence, or attempt to escape knowing you are going to be in there longer if you are caught. To add more roleplay value there is now the fugitive system so that people could be "caught" if a number of people want to send you back to jail. Its all about having something unique, giving players the ability to change their own fate, become that criminal that keeps getting sent back to jail. or someone who is evading the law to prove their innocence. ---------------------------------- If people like this sort of thing, i might post some more up when i get a bit of time. Some of the design decisions, and lore of MD is interesting, and it appears many people have forgotten, or never heard of some of the genius behind MD. So comment if you are bored/like/dislike this so i can get some feedback
 14.
As an artist I would definitely support this....here is a boost for this quest. I sponsor a Wish Point (If I am allowed). I am having a WP with me for a long time, I was keeping it for my dragon quest, but I aint getting time to bring it up, so I am sponsoring now (I haven't ever granted a WP to anyone, I guess it would work he he). -rider
In discussion with dragonrider he can sponser the WP, he will need to reward it however.
 15. I will sponser a WP if the MD council are not sponsering it and dragonrider cannot. Mainly because MD council can give out better things than WP's

If your wishpoint is in the top right of your screen, and given to you by someone you will not be able to give it away.
 17.
Much as I might disagree with Tipu on his uses of 'u' and 'b4', On this I must say I agree. I saw the anouncment, and I read the forums posts here, the one thing that jumped out at me was that it didn't sound like poe to me. If only to ally the minds of those who think this, Or even to sate my own questions, could the logs be checked for the IP adress that Poe's account was logged in from, and what she normaly logs in from? If it differs, could a check be done to see who else uses the newer ip adress? (this is said with an understanding that IP adresses do change, by location, or by a few other reasons.)
Iv just performed a check and her IP address hasnt changed in a while, not since at least 2013-02-19 from just pulling some of the more recent data. So while it is certainly away from her initial character of "dreams are sacred" it appears it was indeed her.
 18.
What's a Mur Egg?
Could be anything. Who knows. Turn up and we shall find out.
 19.
So quick to judge and jury all at once. Nice. This game's rigged precisely because of this attitude of those in power. Blinded by the light So many tears shed... don't forget the buckets!!
So phantom just decided to dream a large amount of people. She got banned.
 20.
Hehe council is coming at me like a lynch mob because of dst's complaints. Ya'll should lighten up. It's just a game.
Thats why you dont deserve the position. Its a very important one and you dont care how you abuse it. You were the one going on about keeping dreams sacred and you dont care. You are a hypocrit and i hope you lose your ability. You are not dreamweaver.
 21.
Or perhaps Chewett, you might know if there are any logs the game keeps? Can you tell when the dream was started and when the punishment was given? Are the logs of the chat text?
Dst is quoting the logs, there is a number of server logs that none have access to that could be interrogated if nesscary.
The dream started at 2013-04-15 04:55:03 and and ended at 2013-04-15 04:56:58 when the punishment was given.
This is correct.
 22.
2) Powers were used to 'free' dst from her punishment, before any investigation ensued to determine the nature of the situation.
False. The server had to be restarted, this causes a number of bad effects including kicking out all idle people, and removing all current affects. Feel free to ask everyone that was around for proof of the errors. I doubt you will believe me. Log from error:
[15-Apr-2013 22:23:16 Europe/Bucharest] PHP Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/v ar/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in <filename> on line 93
And as a side comment, once that the riddle that phantom gave dst is provided and it is shown that she failed i will freely put the silence command back on her for the required time.
 23. I am looking for a number of questmakers that want to try using the interface before it is properly used for MD birthday. Please contact me if you want to use it and you will gather feedback before the start of the festival. This does not mean you need to have announced winners of the quests and you can voulenteer if your quest has already finished. I will set up the poll for you, and then people can vote for your quest and you will recieve the feedback, as well as the TK leaders. Thanks for your help, i will be wanting some feedback and ideas to change it or make it better. Any general comments on plans on it can be made here.
 24.
Not even 50:50 for that matter. IMO new:old weight ratio should be at least 70:30. There are some who spend hours with newbies teaching them daily. Those are the real adept relationships. Giving more weight to vets gives them another power to decide MP6's and choose when their time is over, etc. They are not the people needing help; the newbies are. I've seen many new players take adepting seriously and most definitely loyal. I don't see that in most of the vets, but again, that's only what I've seen and I may be wrong. Elthen kinda stated the opposite, Chew. I've seen it for myself.
You have not understood my post, i should have quoted the specific passage "considering they hardly change their adept choice(due to loyalty to a person who introduced them into the game, due to the fact that no everyone could actually teach you more at the level, etc.)" but it was neigh impossibly on my phone. When looking just at the vets, there is about half of them that will regularly adept the people who want to become protectors and the other half that will keep the person they follow and never change it, even if they are not going for MP6. My comment was not talking about the weighting at all DD. I stated my reason for not adepting a new wannabe MP6, because none of them have actually come to talk to me. I agree the idea that one of the main ideas of protectorship is to help newer people, and also agree that somehow the newer players being your adept should matter more. You just didnt understand my post lol.
 25.
Yes, apologies, Rhaegar. It's true, it was Lightsage who gave the suggestion about resources. I changed the post. Anyway, continuing on-topic age related solution to adepts is indeed a wonderful idea. However, i reckon it'd be better if more weight is given on players with more age, considering they hardly change their adept choice(due to loyalty to a person who introduced them into the game, due to the fact that no everyone could actually teach you more at the level, etc.) and having less weight on new players. Now the exact ratio should be considered if everyone agrees to the idea. Elthen
I disagree, its about 50:50, there is a group who stubbornly wont adept anyone helpful, and some that primarily swap between many. Im normally in group 1, and my reasoning is no one has actually ever come to me asking me to adept them with a good reason. Iv got the usual spam that people send out, and thats just spam.
