  1. I posted a lot about upgradeables in the past but due to some health issues I never got around to actually finishing them in MagicDuel. I am still sad about that. However to help give Seigheart some ideas of an "industry" he could build with his new role he is working towards, I'm going to write out some of the key concepts of them. What are UpgradeablesUpgradeables were a concept in MagicDuel to allow buildings to be upgraded over time with regular resource input. If you added enough resources you could "upgrade" them, if you didn't pay the upkeep they would degrade and lose features. The idea was that you could gain/lose features within your land if you maintained them, or didn't as the case may be Why this was matters for the economyMagicDuel doesn't have a good economy as there is too many resources (something I am working to fix with something secret 😉). What I didn't want is something that could easily be completed by Ledah who has hoarded 500000 mineral ore. New resources - Riverbed Clay, Hardwood Lumber, GG Stone (not implemented possibly)To stop "the Ledah Problem" I created three new sets of resources, unable to be gathered until the appropriate tools were ready, that would each appear in a different land. Each land would need a different amount of resources to build their own buildings, but the idea was that they would mainly use the resource available in their land. This would encourage trading or working in other lands to get the resources you need. Combined with tools that were initially only intended to be shared, and only accessible by their land citizens, it would make it somewhat interesting Resources were the tool, not the purposeThe key reason why this worked compared to past "industry/crafting" initiatives was because the focus was building something cool/interesting for MD that people would have a reason to gather. Currently gathering serves little to no purpose. Next stepsI want to continue this project in the future, the next steps are as follows: Properly make 3 unique resources in the game Finish off the upgradables so that we can have unique structures growing with time Ensure that these "degrade with time" Add some unique reasons why people want structures (land bonuses, heat reduction, beneficial spells, skill training, etc) The AI era does enable a lot of this, now we just need to do it.
  2. Given Mur is reworking the armour and weapon system I thought I would throw some ideas out My new conceptsWeapons and Armour should be harder to obtain than a click Resources used to make the item should be used related to the rarity/importance/power of the weapon/armour Crafting should require time waiting in the crafting area Crafting should require a sliding scale of skill Crafted weapons and armour will degrade (following the new Integrity system) Crafted weapons and armour should be tradable New Rarer Tier resourcesWe should have some new higher tier resources for items Those less advanced are more likely to fail to obtain these higher tier Having tiers like "Iron -> Mithril -> Adamantite" for ore could be a start "Crafting in place" System - Waiting while you make itemsWhen crafting items you should stay in one place Leaving would "ruin" higher tier items wasting all resources Leaving would "stop" lower tier items allowing you to continue Someone attacking you X times (lower X for higher tier items) would cause you to ruin it This would allow some value in crafting without it being an instant thing. This follows similar systems converting materials from one form to another. Crafting should require skillYou should require specific skills to craft weapons and armour The higher your skill, the less likely you fail Some higher tier armour/weapons should only be able be produced by "Master Crafters" By introducing a skill element people would be encouraged to specialise and train their skills Crafted Weapons/armour should degradeWe need a "repeatable" element for armour to ensure it isn't a "get once and ignore" like current armour/weapons Adding in the integrity system similar to items makes perfect sense This makes it an actual system people have to interact with, rather than something "one and done" Crafted Weapons/armour should be tradableThis lets you specialise in some areas, and creates actual professions People can decide to either buy armour/weapons from others or make it themselves This encourages general item movement in MagicDuel and is therefore a very good thing for the economy Feedback Welcome!
  3. You used to be able to see and attack night mode players when you cast "Sun". That's definately broken and needs fixing. You Should be able to attack night mode players if they are chatting, that's also changed and broke.
  4. Message has been there years, maybe Eggy or Beans could help @Muratus del Mur ;)
  5. This looks to be fixed, @Muratus del Mur was it an unannounced fix?
  6. Welcome back, It's nice to see the new you :)
  7. Just needs Mur to review, I suspect this is something that just needs reverting.
  8. If you click the Angiens Shrine nothing happens. Coordinates: 1_2x4_1 Unfortunately without A25 I cannot debug further, if someone grants me this I can look into this.
  9. @Muratus del Mur this probably needs a review of the input items and decisions it took to generate the new item. @Blackshade Rider I assume there wasn't any "Ledah items" used in the creation?
  10. No bug and no code changes are being made to MD by me.
  11. What items did you give it?
  12. @Fang Archbane has joined us
  13. Due to a player asking to be removed from the AL I'm going to need to rewrite a number of days, alongside recreating images. Unfortunately I write these a few days ahead so it needs some rework. I hope I will be back on track by next week. I have contacted everyone involved in this, so If you are involved in this, or want to be involved, and haven't gotten a PM, let me know.
  14. I really like Primordials, it makes sense based on the lore
  15. As @death ray has reported his mistake and we now know what happened we have removed his mark! We are a fair organisation, we will do this for anyone else who makes mistakes honestly
  16. The herb basket from the evo shop does work like that however
  17. Was your personal water bucket from the evo shop? My water bucket doesn't work when depleted and does take water away. Could you try somewhere non-depleted and check before and after? I think we should remove your mark if you didn't know this Example:
  18. If you check here: https://forum.magicduel.com/topic/29102-known-depeleter-evidence-log-card/#findComment-206293 You can see that you gathered when there was 2 water left, you should have not done that. You are still on our side but we must fairly track everyone reported We only remove people from CARD by a vote of the members. Thanks for being interested!
  19. All fixed, awesome work
  20. Thank you for sharing, this is pretty exciting, looking forward to own my own pet!
  21. Chewett replied to jakubhi's topic in New Ideas
How does a pet relate to ones self, and how does a pet relate to a creature, something bound to you? I am keen to learn more lore about this.
  22. Death Ray sent a missive to Chewett, troubled by the continued emptying of the land. Having seen more and more of the Realm stripped of its natural resources, he could no longer simply stand by and watch. He asked that his name be added to CARD, and offered his aid to the growing coalition. Chewett gladly accepted. Death Ray wasted little time. Almost immediately he set about tracking those responsible for the depletion, following their movements and noting where the land had been left bare. Working together, he and Chewett were able to watch the depleters more closely than ever before, comparing observations and steadily building a clearer picture of what was happening across the Realm. With another pair of eyes, another set of notes, and another voice willing to challenge those doing wrong to the land, CARD had become stronger. CARD was growing. Unfortunately, so was the depletion. OOC: Thanks to Death Ray for consenting his character into both the roleplay AND the artwork! It's such a serious matter he decided to take his shirt off! PS: Do you find the little extra added to the image from DR's avatar?
  23. @Seigheart thinks it's a bug? Not sure
  24. With CARD beginning to take shape, Chewett turned his attention from letters to evidence. If the Realm was being stripped bare, he wanted to know where, how quickly, and by whom. So he began to watch. Quietly, patiently, and from a respectful distance, he followed the paths of those who moved through the land gathering its resources. Every stop was marked. Every emptied location was noted. Every suspiciously heavy departure found its way into his notebook. Patterns began to emerge. Some places were touched only lightly, while others were reduced almost to nothing. Certain routes were visited again and again. Resources that should have recovered were disappearing almost as quickly as they returned. Chewett recorded the time, the place, what had been taken, and whatever clues he could gather about the person responsible. This was no longer simply a feeling that the Realm seemed poorer than before. There were names, locations, habits and quantities now. The depletion could be observed. And, more importantly, it could be documented. Chewett closed his notebook and looked towards the next shadowy figure disappearing across the barren land. CARD would need more than good intentions. It would need proof.
  25. @death ray @Else please note your depleting has garnered the attention of CARD
