IF there will be at least 10 participants to this, i will sponsor this quest with the following - a very low id creature from King Manu account (nothing special about the creature itself, but for some thats highly collectable). Id will have just 3 digits and about 2000days age - 1 wishpoint - 4 morphs to be divided as the organizer decides, either for top places or given for side rewards like for example, "the most unusual but fitting associations"

"secret feature"...i won't even dare to ask about it because i am sure the answer will be "you need to find out yourself too" )))) about my wishes, its simple, all the people i promised roles, need to get their interfaces ready AND MY ELU NEEDS CANDY - thats top priority, drop everything else ..feed the elu's joking

first, i need to confirm that MRAlyon will indeed will manage the BHC competitions (in case that was a question for some) -- now, the idea of "WAR" in md..due to how it was in the past, sounds a bit inappropriate in my opinion..because was means in md more than just fights..its an actual fight on more levels than the interface permits. Competition however, is welcome. You can name it as you wish, but when announced i will try to leave a space for an actual blood thirsty war to exist at some point (with cheating, argues an all). It is not a big issue at all, i just needed to mention that. A war can't be "optional" ..but BHC is optional, so these two can't go well together each time it is organised...unless the lands agree that there is indeed something to fight for, not a prize. fairness: "if necrovion will win (thing not possible… hihihi)" ..such comments don't look good, even if i know its a joke and i fully trust your fairness, but for some doesn't look good silver: the BHC interface can be set to have a participation tax, as you already know. The 'payment' methods, gains, requerments and everything WON'T be changed, so you will have first to see what you can do from the interface before going wild planning how it will be. One very interesting feature is that you can require an item to participate, so that can be nicely integrated with an armory of sorts, where soldiers get their gear to go to battle. Skilldamage can be changed to something else, in case it causes to much damage to gameplay...but such a change will be permanently , otherwise the top winner gains this 'bonus'. rewards: as new BHC master you can request any sponsorship and award what you think fit... however, my 'suggestion' is that you will try to put motion into the lands by giving the reward to a central authority of the land (kings..again?) and that way they win will be for the land not the player, and they will decide what goes where. Cheating will be eliminated that way, lands will be more united, or the lands that are not united will disband .... features: bhc interface allows citizenship filter, some lands can be closed. treasury is implemented, can be set in any place needed. the points that go to each land after a bhc are however just numbers at the moment, unless something changed while i was gone. YOU NEED TO WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE otherwise you risk to depend on things you don't have , that might or might not be added at some point. There are ways to add needed functionality through other existing features, or simply throught imposed rules. bhc has huge potential

a fragment of my broken mind
Muratus del Mur replied to Muratus del Mur's topic in Soldiers Of The Inner Sun
@Fang when you keep going on a path that takes you somewhere, and at some point you realise you are lost, thats how it feels when you lose your mind. The mind is not stable, that is true, not in knowledge not in functionality, maybe a better rephrasing would be, i am lowering my thinking capabilities by running into situations that i can no longer solve... When i look back to how i was, i am scared myself too, totally changed, I used to be Manu, now I am Mur.. for those of you that know the difference @Ackshan yet i fear they are contrasting, this means in my mind somewhere the "error" tells me there is something missing. You see, my rational thinking its actually fine tuned intuitive thinking.. (don't even try to go into the left/right brain thing, i have no explenation so far but for me it works as it is) I can see 1+1, reason it is 2, but intuitively know its 1+1=1 so i go blindly in that direction...eventually i find an answer and so far my intuition was always right. I feel a contradiction between the ideas present in the two passages, and as my reasoning tells me they are not contradicting, i try to determine if i have a system error in my mind or if i am missing some clue in all this. Listening to other people answers to my dilema makes me see the situation from more perspectives and eventually i will determine if i am crazy or if i am just tracing a clue i didn't find yet (ofc both are possible at the same time:P) -
but isn't the decision to be judged and not the judge itself? i know what you mean because i lived it on my own skin so to speak, people accept what i decide even against them because they respect ME, and that respect/reputation is afterall what you struggle for in md if any council member reads this, consider this thought

a fragment of my broken mind
Muratus del Mur replied to Muratus del Mur's topic in Soldiers Of The Inner Sun
"And they do both complement and contrast each-other..." ...so your answer tells me "congratulations you achieved a ..beep..system error" lol people keep telling me i have contradicting ideas and i spot this more and more in my judgement , yet i can't find the error. When you understand nothing and everything is the same ..it breaks things in pieces in your mind..now i am standing before a pile of paper that all makes sense yet contradicts...as i said, i can't find the glue to it. I am seriously thinking to either burn it, give up, hide it...or give it more rest, because as it is now, the only feeling i get when i get close to that missing "glue" is fear. Can thoughts alone change reality, of course they can. This book will (already did) change my own reality and probably its impossible to finish anyway...however my pride prevents me from stopping.. imagine you discovered a door and you know that if you open that door something unbelievable will come to reality...i am the type of person that pushes "red buttons" as you know...but so far my research cost me my sanity There is a moral issue here, disclosing this 'gate' can help some do terrible harm, will drive some crazy (and 99% will remain ignorant ofc, but as i do in md i ignore that 99% that has no interest in researching things ) and no...intentions imply someones identity..unless you put "god" as a concept in this, then no, thats not a word that fits i will reply ONCE to each person sharing their opinion about my initial question, so lets not turn this into a discussion that will deviate from the subject -
These numbers came in very handy in the current situation me and council debate at this point. please explain me..what means "trust the council" ? trust they can do/solve things, trust as in confidence, trust in abilities? You can not trust a faceless figure unless you trust its actions blindly, you wouldn't trust me if i didn't had a name .. the trust concept in this poll is a bit confusing and i would like to understand those numbers better

its been a very very long time since i last touched the notes for my second book... last time i thought i have everything there to put it in a nice form, but as my memory got more and more distorted i find it difficult to connect things in it and i lost that "glue" that was supposed to unite all my notes in a coherent idea. I would like to share a small fragment i found lost, because somehow i have the feeling i am missing something in it. "The unhappend future contains all possible versions of events that exist at the same time like in a homogenous stable soup of timeless reality. Happening at the same time (without time actually) makes them perfectly balanced. Out of this silvery sphere/circle of continuous events, they come out one by one through the point of present. The remaining versions of one events become unstable and vanish, only the present remains real for a moment without time, then only echoes in the memory of the observer through the unbalance it leaves behind in the other events around it." At a later time i made an other note: "The future is formed out of complex "*feelings" (*cant find the right word) that downgrade into events forming what we see as "past". Time is not the cause but the effect of entropy, because without entropy, these complex "*feelings" would remain stable and not flow. The time flow is caused by unbalance. In a perfectly balanced system time has no place, time is a sign of failure of that system." I must say these thoughts alone are mind twisting and i can't understand them myself quite well at this moment..and once they were so clear that i didn't bothered to note them in more detail. When i started the book i had such a clear picture in mind of everything, then things happend and i lost a big part of my mind..added with stress and the shit i've been through past year...i can't make any sense out of this ...and it sucks If anyone is able to give an opinion..my question is simple: ARE THE TWO FRAGMENTS IN CONTRADICTION (of any sort) OR COMPLEMENTARY? as a note.. apparently..i lost my mind/sanity at the time i found a logical pattern that..lets say..discovered a potential breaking point / exit / gate, call it as you wish...a weak spot of reality. As our mind mirrors the universe we are in (or the opposite, its all the same actually), probably it happend inside my mind what would happen outside of it if such a thing would be reached. Lets say i have a "system error" and i can't fix it on my own, my only escape is to either shut-down and prevent further damage, or simply retrace the entire logic and ...and what? i have no idea where these leads to.. At some point i reached i thought that i managed to support with a logical structure to maintain its meaning in my head .. "nothing exists". The beauty is that "nothing exists" does not contradict with "everything is possible".. even the words mean something else if you are carefull how you read them. am i realy losing my mind? does any of this make any sense to any of you? i will reply ONCE to each person sharing their opinion about my initial question, that way everyone gets to reply to this initial post..whatever you discuss based on it feel free to do so, i will read, but i will try not to reply in order to avoid deviating from the initial question

Resource skills and how they effect collecting
Muratus del Mur replied to AmberRune's topic in Work in progress
that might be interesting too, if someone wishes to deplete a resource they could suffer a penalty ..something liek a percentage of that sort of resources is taken out of their inventory.. if you wish to sabotage something there should be some sort of risk -
Resource skills and how they effect collecting
Muratus del Mur replied to AmberRune's topic in Work in progress
Depleating of resources is a 'risk' that should remain as part of the gameplay. Accidental depletion of resources is however not something intended to happen often. Gathering more than there are is interesting, debating it further will lead to interesting changes. Consider however that as it is now you can get a clear view of the total amounts of resources in the realm, but if they will depend on how much you actually gather there will be no real overview on the total available resources of a sort. Think how this will affect the rarity of some resorces. It could go well if you plan it right, or it could mess up rarity/value. [A creative solution to the initial problem could be to allow same skill (or other skill/tool) to regenerate a resource in a place. For example you could water the herbs to increase the available resource. This should come at a strict cost, either you increase or you gather, one day cooldown. It will offer a 'fighting' chance to prevent total depletion but of course it will leave space for alt abuse.] -
suggestion if the new 'tutorial' will allow free roam in the beginning of the game, why not do it as a sort of activity to gather lets say 4 player groups to keep viscosity low on a certain path. that way new players do their first 'group' activity and learn a bit about viscosity. Jumping in directly into a communication based gameplay is dangerous, but is also very entertaining and could act also as a filter. Making it totally optional will keep it as an side filter and not a main one so it wont scare away new players. something else. what if lho get ability to give one sort of paper to someone, or ability to drag new players around, or give them ap and escort them to the papers, then bring them back. Its important to bring them back so they wont remain scatered across the map. It will also make this look as a favor they get from the lho, but if they try alone they need to pass AD , ap etc In the first days of md i was the one to escort each player step by step through the game, and some of those players are still around You need to think that even if each lho guides one player that stays because of this 'attention', md will grow a lot with quality players. The current copy pasted activity of lho is not what i had in mind for lho (but of course its something better than nothing).

i will reply just to a couple of things now. At the time that tutorial was planned, md had no community, i had no way to predict the way the actual gameplay will be. Now that tutorial is obsolete, the filters are good as concept but for an other era so to speak..obsolete. the changes that need to be done are massive..sadly. There is something in plan for a feature to allow multiple tags, that will lead to the possibility to have own as well as automated tags (an other feature, currently missing). automated tags mean that you can chose a path by the actions you do and it can be easily integrated with a new hierarchy system. the technical changes to achieve this are far more simple than any other change i can think of. With a social hierarchy given by automated tags, the player sees the possibilities ahead and this will act as an atractor to make him want to go deeper. The current story is an attractor, powerful one, but currently it points in a wrong direction because it ends suddenly and without any connection with how md is now. Moving storymode a few steps ahead as an optional side quest is in my opinion needed. Regarding the 'filters'... it is a market problem. players are now educated to find highly adictive attractors in games, such as "xp points to achieve next level" , "grinding", "distribution of skill points/upgrades" etc. You can't fight these concepts from the start, and i also don't want to follow them...so here is the main problem. i believe, in concept, md can start with a highly addictive gameplay, any move/click you do increases some points base, why not the current heat concept with a twist. these points will advance you on a branched system of tags, so you will see that if you do that you could reach there or there. Branched evolution of your character is within md concepts. Seeing these levels ahead, the new player will not think anymore that the game is just what he first sees and will want to go deeper. This eliminates the need of a mp2 stage to start with. The filters can and should be added at a later point. Lets say after the activity days reach 100 or 200. anyway, i could go on and on about this , but over the past years i tried to find a way to plan this in a way that won't require too many changes. thats why i think branched character evolution, multiple and automaded tags, moving story mode as an optional side quest, are the main targets.

I am deeply sorry I had to see Eon resign from a role I considered was perfectly fit for him and somehow I feel responsible for the situation. I am also sorry that after such a long time, the council decisions are not respected as they should be. I would like to tell my view on this matter, please try learn from it something... try to be honest with yourselves while doing so. The way I see it, both sides (Eon & Council) are right, and wrong, at the same time. Eon invested a lot of passion in his role, and I believe he had no intention to cheat or abuse BHC in his favor. However, seen globally, the situation was not too good and demanded some sort of intervention, so Council did so. Eon, your fault is that you should have anticipated this and avoid it...instead you just went along with it, thinking probably nothing can happen. I gave Council the authority to override my decisions because I know they will do so only when its truly needed and on matters that I am not actively involved in. Because I am away from MD due to personal reasons (unrelated to md), the Council needs to step in on everything, and that includes to override things I set, if the situation demands it. I try to think what i would have done if i were 'active' ... I think i would have probably told Eon "hey, whats going on, things don't seem right, we need to talk about it". Council can't afford a dialogue so to speak...but as I said Eon himself should have avoided such a situation in the first place. I still believe Eon is the most suitable person for this role, but since he decided differently, what can i do.. Eon, your ego is as big as your stats..thats not so good. It would be nice to halt the bhc event till an other warrior will cause enough 'trouble' and will be powerfull enugh to deserve this role ... I will write in the next days something about council vs me situation, it is something i need t do, and this incident forces me in a way to xplain certain things.

Dominion Journey - your opinion
Muratus del Mur replied to Muratus del Mur's topic in Previous Years MD Birthday threads
Thank you for your feedback. What do you say we do it again just for fun and this time with two guards per location, offset timezones better organized because now you know what this is all about... or now that you visited the dominion this won't have the same flavor ? I forgot to mention something in the first post. using more people in the organizing team makes this sort of event abuse proof, in a sense that you might be friend with one or two but you can't possibly cheat by convinsing ALL of the tema members to let you pass just for friendship reasons..or if you can then its your merit. I am willing to do a similar competition again, this time with smaller rewards (otherwise it wouldnt be fair for the current winners), ..by that i mean lets say first 5 to win get a _nice_ reward, everyone else gets nothing once five reach the end. ..or we can make it again on the next major event whatever it will be then, with 'more than decent' rewards.. I am open to suggestions -
Dominion Journey - your opinion
Muratus del Mur posted a topic in Previous Years MD Birthday threads
As i am not very much online lately, i might be somewhat disconnected from the MD-reality of the events I organize. Therefore i created this topic to hear a honest opinion about the "Dominion Journey" event and maybe learn something from your remarks and use that for the next events. I will also share a bit of the concept behind this event. A short dissection of this quest might help some of you to better organize their own quests on other occasions. ---- long read ahead, you can skip --- The concept behind the event is simple. Here are the 'ingredients': 1) The Moment A quest can't start just so or it won't get enough attention. The birthday event was a perfect moment to put in motion something i wanted for a long time 2) The Attractors To put things in motion you need a powerful 'attractor'. My name guarantees the rewards will be 'awesome' and I realize not many quest makers afford such 'attractors', but on various occasions the rewards can and were officially sponsored. The attractor in this case was both powerful and unknown, mystery adds up to the value of an awesome reward, but careful not to disappoint. Attractors are the magnet, the motif that gives energy to an event. In this event there were three attractors: The dominion visit, the rewards in case of success and the event in itself. This last attractor is an advantage of any good quest maker, people learn their quests are entertaining and will participate also just for the fun, that is very important. 3) The Breaks Leaving the attractors out in the open means everybody will storm in to get whatever they can grab ad there is no quest for that. You need some sort of breaks so to speak to slow down the rewards gaining. A single task/riddle would qualify this setup as a quest, but not as a full size event.. big difference! The breaks need to be suitable for the power of the attractors. If the attractors are not so powerful the breaks need to be fewer and less 'breaking'. If the attractor is powerful, you need progressive breaks, not just a big one, because its not a lottery. In this event the breaks were the 8 people in the organizing team. 4) The Flavor This is where i experimented something new, from my point of view. As you know, the riddles and quests were not planned by me but by the organizing team, the 5 challengers and the 3 gate keepers. This means that each one will add to the event his own style and flavor. The overall setup (the deathwhisper tunnel) and the advancing system (fail you start over, win you move on - russian roulette style) were the glue to bring these challengers in a coherent form. This chain of questmakers, both experienced and totally unexperienced provided the variety needed to balance the boredom of the tunnel, in a way. There is a part of the flavor that i will not detail and that one will happen for the 10 that managed to pass the last gate keeper Possible Mistakes: 1) One unavoidable issue is related to the timezones of the people in the organizing team. However i never intend to make things easy, so the only thing you could see as a real issue is if ALL challangers were on same timezone... but as long as they were not, it means all the participants were facing same timezone issue so the odds were equal.. or am i wrong? 2) I gave free hand to all challangers to do whatever riddles they could think of. I think things could have been better if the riddles were entirely non md related and even 'google-able' so to speak. md-related riddles could have been reserved for the gate keepers only. Back doors You might have noticed there was a ap requirement for the scenes. I said you should not jump over a gate keeper, but you could have walked by him if you could 'afford' the action points cost. I could have given the challangers a picke stoc to give to those that fail (or make it automated), ..that could have been very very interesting.. but i thought of it only too late. Joining forces to solve a riddle is not cheating. The purpose of such an event is to entertain, to put things in motion, and doing _everything_ to solve the riddle is in general ok. In my opinion. Trading the gatekeeper items is also ok, someone very skilled, able to pass a gatekeeper riddles repeatedly , could have 'earned' lots of silver for letting others in with the items he aquired. All this might look as cheating for some, but remember md is a realm for both the "good" and the "bad". Thats about it. ----- Feedback is welcome -
i have a secret life you know , its the one OUTSIDE MD..oh yeah..outside MD if you can imagine that. I need a protection suit to survive the outside world and to breath its air but i learned to handle it over time. The problem is my view is disturbed and i can't figure out well who is me and who, or what, is not. Here are some pictures seen through my protective suit/lenses of parts of me.

There is a very simple thing called life. Life its not complicated, its very simple. The things that cause it, are too complex to fully understand. It might be the counter balance of an infinite, and dead, universe. It might be a coincidence, or whatever.. Its results are also complex...but can be described by one word .."consciousness". Of course life means much more, but "consciousness" is "everything" ..and i am to tired to detail what i mean. I was contemplating something recently, and i realized that a very simple and obvious thing came as a conclusion to a series of unsolvable issues and troubles. I want to share with you this simple finding. All of you probably realize it, but maybe if I am the one to say it allover again, you will put more value on it. How do you define a good life? Is it by its length? By its intensity? By how happy you are? by what you accomplish during it? hmm.. the natural answer is that the value of life is a sum of all that. Its pointless to live a long and "stable" life where nothing happens. It is like "surviving" life, preserving yourself for when death comes. Its also pointless to live a dangerous life and die young, you will miss a lot of thing you could have experienced otherwise. There are some cue points in life, like "love" and "achievements". I will skip the details because you all know what i mean. I truly believe that the value of life is defined by how you find that balance of how to live "fully" and at the same time not to shorten your life too much while doing so. I also believe that "life" is a shared thing. my life is your life and your life is my life sort of thing. We are all "one". In this sense, the value of life is shared with those we get in contact with. We are defiend also by how the others see us, not only by how we actually are. Thats why "achievements" are important, they are landmarks for others to remember. We all die. Even the universe dies. It matters how powerful, in feelings, we lived our life. The 'moment' beats eternity.

Happy Birthday Mur!

Thank you!! wow so many wishes
