the recipes and cauldron devices can still use specifically named herbs and what is loaded in the device can be of generic form. For example recipe can require "Metrabalaportocala Spices" but it will actualy require the resource "Aromatic herbs" (general name) processed from "herbs" (even more general resource). The rarity of some specific herbs will not exist , but a "rare" type of herbs could be added to add to the mix. It all makes perfect sense for me. I still need type suggestions to continue the current "spices/aromatic herbs","tea leaves" series. Lets think, what other general categories are missing ...

I can bind it to player dna, that way each player will be determined to gather a type of herb,only that, forever. Seen from an individual perspective is stupid, because you are "doomed" to gather a single sort of herbs , but from a more global (*cough* cubical) point of view it makes perfect sense and stimulates herb exchange or trading (i hope exchange). At this point i am thinking to split the herbs (after collecting them as a general "herbs" resource) into fewer more usable types such as "tea leaves" "aromatic plants/spices" and so on (need ideas here) An other option would be to create from the start the tools with a randomly assigned purpose. A guild that manufactures baskets and once the basket is created it is labeled as a tea collecting basket or spices collecting basket and such. waiting for suggestions for herb types, name of the item that will build baskets out of ..branches?..or? herbs resource will be added starting now, these items will come on the way.

what? no voting poll? no, i will present a general idea i plan to announce next week and allow it some time for any/everyone to debate it. If anything usefull comes out of the ideas you will be sharing I will either implement them or postpone these "herbs" for when it will be possible. Herbs will be a general resource available mainly in Loreroot and Tribunal. Because a wide variety of herbs should be available, i will make it as one single resource type, in larger quantities than woon, named all the same "herbs". "Cauldron type devices" will be created to allow separation of this generally named resource into types of herbs. Depending on the instructions used and the device, herbs could be splitted/converted into any number of sortiments. This is acceptable at a tehnical level because its far better to manage a single resource type than to add and adjust 100 sorts of herbs..however i am not sure how much sense it makes for people to gather "general herbs" in baskets and only after that to go with them to whoever will have the tools to separate them into usable types of herbs. An other option would be to have still generally named herbs but a few more sorts and not to require any separation device to process them further. along the same idea i will experiment with tool creating devices. Branches could be used to create baskets to collect herbs. A herbs guild wont be needed/created, but it room for a "herb gatherers community" to preserve the resource at acceptable levels, or guilds to handle the separation tools (restricting from collecting their own raw herbs for processing) thats it

Its a mirror, everyone around you might be you , how can you understand yourself when your eyes can look only outside and you are unable to understand others? 2) Taking md to YM is something i was against and still am and will always be. If you take this beyond the virtuality border, md is no longer a training field or a learning experience , it becomes an extension of the reality you live in, so become the things that happen in it. I keep saying (with words or actions) that a character in md should not be bound by the person behind the keyboard. I use PLAYERNAMES with everyone, and i do mind when called "Manu" since you actually dont know manu at all. Same applies to each one of you. My advice..if you decide to go outside MD borders, keep being your character, or be ready to face whatever will come. Your character is NOT you , is ALSO you...big difference. 3) creation is perfectly possible, md is not only about understanding it..thats optional. In fact if you would look around, so many create rather that understand what i created. I don't mean roles, i mean ideas, discovering things, new things. See MD as a foundation that gives a start, a unwritten book. Its true you cant be as creative as you wish in md...just imagine the chaos. MD "goal" is not making you understand it..stop making assumptions to what md is. Anyway why do you believe "understanding" hinders "creativity" ? 4) true, a virtual world amplifies any traits , any character features or flaws. If assholes are 4 times more assholes as you claim, then you should think you should have been 4 times more resistant to assholes in this "virtual world". However you can't do that since you moved MD to messenger..your fault only. You think it give you the illusion of being different? well , in my opinion , if that illusion stands in front of others that judge it (in-realm) then its not an illusion. If you end up loved or important for some, its your merit, not an illusion. The fact you discover in RL that you fail badly at it its because the outer-world as influences you miss to consider. Lets assume you are a fat ugly pig with the most hideous face humanity ever saw (example), then you are a charming guy in a virtual world (ANY). Ofc this creates a gap between your daily reality and your virtual character, but also allows you to see things from an other perspective and learn about things you could have never knew existed. Me for example, i am a skinny littly guy, yet I once played the mighty Knator Commander, a strong beast (not so strong anymore at all but eh..). Being in a way in rl affects your judgement in a direction, making you miss things about yourself due to the way people see you. MD allows you to evaluate what might be if people would see you different. If you are a charming jonny bravo in RL, and everybody moks you in realm, you might think about why too... I should write a big waranty note at login: MD experience waranty lost if YM opened. Thanks again for your observations, very useful to know, the replies too. It incorporates the secret ingredient/clue to the SotIS symbols challenge ..its actualy highly related to that. The ends of the MT lines end in 8 points, placed strategically to for a square and its middle points. The eight point that was supposed to be on top is replaced by the tiny circle you compared with an 8. Its not 8 but its all about 8. For whoever knows about seals and such, the placement of those line speaks for itself. Not only this one is highly difficult to "break or "seal" but with the snake/dragon heads around it and the missing point above, makes it brag about this particularity in a very arogant way. The wings mean something else not flying, its a trait of a certain type of nobility, protective power, supremacy. The slight angle down and not perfectly horizontal is essential to the meaning i wanted. It takes out the "hope" part and gives the symbol more raw power. no. soubtle differences, a lot more power to the meaning, more elaborated and less clean than the "snake thing". notice the 8+1 (you see it?, what about blue and black? not colors, or the connection between 3&4), anyway a lot more i can say, this is a masterpiece at symbol level and i am not shy to brag about it. The problem is that the meaning of the M&T, even if they fit both with Tribunal and Mur and with my name initials, they are not letters. The lines have an other meaning, one that is so powerful that i am sure this symbol was used before, probably in religious context. Therefore, i will start a challange..offering a nice reward for whoever finds the MT combined in exactly this way somehwere else. Don't worry about the wings and such, the angles come from Egypt i think i will tattoo this one

Entries need to keep same format. Limiting your device to existing resoruces and situations will give it a much better chance to be implemented than if you make up new resources. For a device with new resources to be implemented (and maybe awarded to you directly), the needed resources need to be implemented too, and assigned to a guild to collect , or to individuals (like the stones). If they make perfect sense i will do this fast but still not as fast as using what is already there. Devices that support long time estabished roles will have priority. There is no limit how many items i will accept, but there is a time limit when i will say stop-enough and start adding only my items for guilds and such..so there is no time to waste. More info: Potential resources that will be acceptable (because i am planning to add them for some time): bilogical materials like leather, horns, hair, etc, from existing creatures only metals or metal as a general resource herbs, in detail or in general unusual but very md style things like color in a bottle, or get inspired from things like the memory stone and current resources Understanding what i mean by md spirit/style is obviously essential to create a suitable item. You probably know already that i've been playing for the last few days with a new "toy", the Cauldron. Today I made it public, and I will post here the sameple recipe that is currently using. The device is not yet ready, and when it will be ready it will have so many uses that it will totally change gameplay You can see it in work at Tranquil Plains, someone will be there to use it so you can see what it does, compared to the recipe loaded here. This sample recipe is for cooking a random thing, but you could design recipes for a lot of things, from building machines to processing basic resources into advanced resources. Currently the sample cauldron consumes no resources or items and you can load anything in it (that it requires) even if you don't have that item. In a few days this test is OVER and it will actualy cost those items to be functional The recipe is easy to follow if you have a bit of imagination, the phrases used to trigger the events and the steps to finish a described process need to be explained in the main description. You dont need to use the exact same words as this is not funcioning based on copy paste. The device will actualy listen to what you say and approximate what you might mean based on the phrases defined in the recipe file. Try variations you will be amazed. Build your own recipe, with things existing in MD already plus some resources you can invent yourself but they need to make sense as a resource in the context of the realm. The phrases that trigger a step need all to be first person. YOU are TELLING the one holding the device what to do. you are not "role-playing" it as if you were doing it yourself. There are so many questions yet all answers are in the file below or in the actions you will see the Cauldron can perform (tranquil plains). This will end in a few days, maybe monday, so you don't have much time to figure it out. Cooking recipes are the easiest to do because the example is like that, but the device could also support a lot a lot more. You have freedom to name the device, it doesnt need to be a "Cauldron" , it could be anything else (in md spirit and suitable). (example, joker de-painting factory, to make color flasks out of colored jokers and turn them into b/w jokers...just an example that could work too) The device uses HEAT plus several other materials to start working. The cauldron for example is set to use water and branches, of course. Other things like lets say a "factory", could use iron ore and coal, or whatever. These materials are needed to operate the device and should not be confused with the materials defined by the recipe/instructions set to use for creating a result product. Be creative, use the chat to discuss this if you have questions, i wont have much time to tell you more. I am building this sort of devices to finally create some things i always wanted like guilds that will be able to further process resources, items that will allow you to achieve/create things impossible till now, to support a new sort of resources and consumable items , etc. I am open to implement any recipe and device that makes PERFECT sense , that is not godmoded and has a fair balance of values, requirements vs output. Most important is they are suited to md. For example a cocktail mixer that will have as a recipe several creature related drinks, made with materials talked about or found in md at this moment, will have a huge success chance. But..if you start inventing things not backed up by current md style, if you dont care where the resources might come from, and so on, and you just go wild inventing stuff not fit got md..you will be just wasting your(and my) time. If you are uncertain if a device is acceptable or not, ask me here on this topic and i will tell you if you should go on with it and prepare all those phrases and texts, or not. It would be best to create things suitable to your role, then you have a higher chance to get it! THIS IS A CONTEST. I WILL PROBABLY IMPLEMENT THE THINGS YOU CREATE IF THEY ARE AWESOME, OR AT LEAST REWARD YOU FOR CREATING THEM IF THEY ARE GREAT BUT YOU ARE NOT SUITED TO MASTER THEM YOURSELF. This is a public reply to the concern of more people that think viscosity is destroying MD viscosity won't change. it is a change that cant be fully understood by old players that knew things one way, but its inteded to change the way md is perceived. The viscosity increases basically distances in the realm, traveling from one place to an other is equivalent to a larger distance, the feeling of "discovery" is strengthen when you adventure in a place harder to access. You complain this is destroying the game...lets be honest, how much have you traveled till now , when there was no viscosity? You notice its hard to reach certain places only now that you got scared they might become inaccessible but while they were accessible nobody visited them. Traveling to get heat is not what i intended traveling for. Quest makers that find it difficult to sustain their clickables will receive a new way to do that much much easier, hopefully within a month, depending on how well my other work (new items and such) goes. Keeping clickables active won't depend on viscosity or far away inaccessible locations. Pickles are not the solution to viscosity, Fyrd is just one man, his items are more intended for special occasions not for "solving" a realm wide "issue". Visc is not a problem/issue that needs solved, it is a concept change that you will have to deal with. There are countless reasons and _side effects_ i am counting on, many of them are not the obvious ones, and i will not detail them. The settings for viscosity might change over time, such as the speed it increases at, but the changes are not inteded to keep ENTIRE md fluid. Those that hope to achieve that have very noble intentions but i advise them to focus their efforts in keeping certain paths open rather than entire areas. Under these updates everything will change, especially things like head contest, quests but also, very important for me, i will be able to keep certain places theoretically open while practically closed at the same time. This means the potential will be there, for who cares. I am sorry I can't tell you more of my reasons, but i am even more sorry you didn't get used already to the fact i actualy think ahead when throwing apparent wild random changes into play like this.

just to mention this, i have absolutely nothing to do with these death. So really dont look for answers or reasons with me as i have no answers to that nor time to investigate. My top priority at this moment (and i mean TOP priority) is to finish the cauldron.

i think a remote item picture upload feature is needed so that artists can enhance items not in their inventory. Uploading art that is not yours is something i won't agree to so for now either transfer the item temporary to the artist or wait for this new feature. . For security reasons the artist should know a portion of the ITC but that will also allow him to remotely alter item image at a later time.just so you know. -

I wish to have no involvement with the progress of this quest or any decision regarding the winning item, thats Granos business. If I consider the item to be "not worthy" i will stil sponsor, the quest, as i said. I need to make all these empty specifications because some tend to think that if i sponsor it means it will be functional or that they get in my grace somehow, or that its involved to inner magic or whatever... "for the record", i have no clue what this quest is about but i appreciate that part where it sais "item be functional in md"..something so many forget when roleplaying nonsense.

A little spoiler from the upcomming future... Stage11 that will be announced this year, maybe after i finish my dev rampage, will bring a new, perfectly integrated way for people regardless of mp, role or citizenship, etc, to unlock the spelldocs. if requested i can look that up and tell you what the lowest id coin is...unless this is a quest of some sort..i don.t want o spoil anything if someone doesn.t want me to. a bit of history: the markings on the coins were supposed to serve for a future role/item/ability that would allow someone to identify collectable coins among common coins, and convert or mark them to show that somehow. That role/ability/item was never done but coins are still marked differently and one day that info will serve for such purposes (coin marking, authenticating, dating, etc - role based) (i am currently away with no way to check that id from here but i can do that monday)

I am looking to buy any regenerable materials that I don't already have in my inventory. Buying only from TB citizens, i can't risk to have some non-citizen pass me some timeless dust pretending its simple sand and such, might affect my demonic eternity you know. No need to post here, i will not hold an auction and I will only buy it while in realm. I need the resources for testing so even if i already have them now, it might happen that i will run out of them. I am looking for resources, byproducts but also heat stones (no other stones for now). I will not be considering real market price when purchasing these, this is a limited time need for my demonic purposes and i will not be needing a constant supply over time. citizens only

@Menhir, ..why i ask..well because in a vast complexity of questions and answers that sometimes looks like a dark impenetrable "forest", some questions aim to the end of the road in a straight line. While some questions find their answer fast or get lost in a pool of randomness, other questions take you further and reveal much more. I find this particular one (Why the sun?) to be aiming further away than my current borders. Isn't it then just normal to target outside the borders to see what is out there? For me that's a way of life.
