Would you folks please give me a rough idea if this is interesting and if it will take place? My first 2 events both had a bunch of entries in the first day, are you not planning to take part in this one, or just secretly preparing two teams behind my back? <.<

Positive, i'm unable to pass through the gates. And if i'm not mistaken, it stays in the trigger box until the no armor effect wears off, too.

Yes, indeed you miss something: You made the gatherers monopolists. They control the supply, if they choose to not gather any stones to keep the supply low, they can ask for horrendous prices. And that they will. So the sorcerers who wish to enchant a stone don't just pay in regenerating spells, but in silver and other things, which are not regenerating for the magician. You think that the magicians will buy the first two stones in silver, and then by able to get new stones in exchange for one enchanted stone? Really? Am i missing something or are you that unfamiliar with how people work when they get a power? PS: I doubt not that it all makes sense in your head, but you often tend to forget that most people value their personal gain higher than the good of the game. This isn't a personal attack on you, i'm just trying to point out the flaw in your plan.

But right now, viscosity increases so fast that one person alone can't even stop it, let alone decrease it. I've been at Storm Docks at the time i posted, with viscosity +20, now i returned, 90 minutes later, to find visc +22. In generally locked places, this means visc will always be on +40, even when you take a walk there every single hour. That's just too much.
-
Currently, viscosity increases way too fast imo. Specially in places that are not accessible to everybody, the AP-cost goes up like mad. It's quite hard to keep routes open singlehandedly when you have to walk them every 6 hours to stop visc from eating you alive -.- I'm thinking about places like Oak-Tower, GG laboratory, Fenth's Wielder, Tunnel of War etc.

I've used my pass papers this morning because i was asked by Mya, and they worked fine, now, about 6 hours later, i can't travel through the Gates of Ages anymore. Not sure if this really goes under bugs or is just me misunderstanding, i thought the pass papers were meant to open the way until midnight of the same day, not just for a few hours.

Memory Stones are all cool, but i can't find the logic in having them on the market as such. As empty shells, they are practically worthless to anybody but 'the magician', who is solely able to store a valuable thought in them. Still, even the empty stones will be worth a lot because you gave 2 people the opportunity to create them, and the rest of us are dependent on their quasi-monopole. To the magician, the memory stones are worthless, he can only charge them with something he already has. The only reason a magician would want to do that is to give the enchanted stone to somebody else, either in trade for a fee, or, and here i see the actual purpose of limited spells, as quest rewards for newbies. For that purpose they can't be used now, though, because we just can't afford to pay for empty stones, charge them and then give them away for free in the long run. And what's even worse, the reward for this doesn't reach the people who invested time and effort into getting spells, setting quests, and creating enchanted stones to give the newbies a little flair of magic, the end of the food chain are 2 people who happen to have the tools to gather stones. I don't see that as right approach. I'd rather have magicians be able to find and collect these stones on their own, with their superior senses for magical things they got from working with spells for a long time if you will. That way we could have actual competition for strong spells, and we'd have a lot more enchanted stones given out to newbies for doing certain kinds of quests. I DO see the purpose of having the stones limited by 2 gatherers, but that limit doesn't help anybody but the appointed gatherers, and specially not the newbies. I never complained about woodcutters, because lumber is definitely not something aimed for newbies, and the people who want wood for creating an item are not that plentiful. But this thing is definitely meant to help newbies see some magic in MAGICduel, and that purpose is currently only badly served, if at all. Seriously, you can't ask us, the long lasting members who did some work to acquire spells, to PAY in order to spread some magic to the newbies. Also, i'd like to be able to charge stones with a number of casts decided by me, not just 'all casts of that spell at once' as the announcement said. Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam.

In this competition, anything is allowed. Spells, tokens, stats, whatever, you name it, you can use it. You just have to fight, stopping each other from doing that is not allowed. The specialty in this event is that it will be a team competition. All participants will have to split in two teams. Also, a captain for each team has to be appointed. The point is NOT to defeat the whole other team, though. I'll use a randomizer to create pairs of people and the desired outcome, win or loss. Team A will be asked to produce exactly that pattern, while team B's objective will be to prevent that. The attacking team doesn't have to stick to any schedules for their attacks, they can immidiately do them all, or postpone them for a bit. In the case of uneven teams, one player might have to attack more than one opponent, or defend against more than one opponent, so you'll want to get even teams to prevent that, for example, one defender has to lose and win in the same pattern. The attackers are not obliged to announce which attack they'll do when, and they are not limited to just one attack. Only the first fight between the two opponents matched for that pattern counts, though. For example, you can send somebody else from your team to test the defence, but you can't call it a test if you tried it yourself. Example: My randomizer says that eon has to lose against dst in his teams attack. So, Eon will attack to lose, and dst will defend to lose. If Eon manages to lose, his team scores, is dst makes him win, her team scores. The team with the higher score after 3 such rounds, each consisting of 2 patterns, one with team a attacking, one with team b attacking, and each taking place on a saturday evening in the marble dale park, wins, and the captain will get a bunch of prices to give out to his or her comrades. You will want to have a nicely mixed team of all MP-levels. If you have too little players from a level, the few unlucky ones will have to do more fights, and probably get into the situation of wanting to win and lose an incoming fight in the same round. You can guess that this won't go too well. You have 1 week for the registration. I suggest you start as soon as possible, and keep the list or participants from your team up to date, including their MP-level, so the other team can recruit some matches in time. Having too little players of a level is a slight advantage in offence, but a big disadvantage in defence. The times will be set in accordance with the team captains. I plan to give you half an hour per pattern, so this event will take 3 sessions á ~65 minutes. Yes, it sounds all complicated, but it really isn't. We'll run a trial edition a few days before starting with the first real contest, so don't worry.

I never saw the solution in making honor depend on actual skill, it's too simply to betray any system that we could come up with. The key lies in having balance be so attractive that people like Eon would kill to be in perfect balance times, because as it is, balance is the mortal enemy of grinding. If that finally works out, grinders are limited by honor, and weaklings can try their luck as often as they wish. And of course Eon would still need to keep his trees set, because even with such stats it's pretty hard to constantly not get victories, especially on the people who are in the same or higher range of balance as himself.

1 is the minimum for moving. 24-40 is under 0, so you just need 1 AP to move. All working as intended.

Happy birthday, o captain, my captain!

And since we're on a roll here, 7th round starts on Friday, July 8th, at 23:30. Passant wins again, just a few points off this time! Passant the weak 4869 00:29:29 (Target was 4814) With that, Passant wins the Honor competition and receives a brand new shiny WishPoint! Hooray!

If the thought of 'using up memory' annoys you, you could create artifacts together with giving the temporary spellcasting power. A simple item, no transfer, that comes into being automatically when the power is granted, and leaves the world again when the power is used up. Metaphysically, it could serve as catalyst for thoughts to achieve the spell, but not stable enough to last for long. Like, say, a seal ring in a machine working with high pressures. Goes well for a while, then it stops working and you need to replace it. The greater the artifact, the longer it could last. Technically, it also serves the purpose of showing what somebody already has in stock, because undoubtedly you'll not handle all those not rechargeable spells yourself, and if the people with that power don't keep each other updated about every single spell they grant, which they probably won't due to the high distribution, people might stack a pretty high number of casts, defeating the purpose of them being limited to some extent.

6th roun, Wednesday, July 6th, 09:00 goes to Passant the Weak with over 2000 off. That's how easy it gets when nobody participates! Passant the weak 2454 09:59:13 Which means Passant is in the lead with 2, followed by dst and Ravenstrider with 1 each. Passant has a matchball! Get him!

Happy Birthday, ladies

First thing i noticed: Announcement said visc would increase by 2 every 6 hours. That seems acceptable. Now, 5 hours after implementation, i'm facing +12 already, which goes way too fast for my humble opinion. Checking up on lost souls in remoter lands regularly to get them out will be impossible with that pace. PS: Sorry to not give it a whole day, but 4 per hour is just very unlike 2 per 6 hours. I'm considering that a bug, and i don't think playing with a bugged feature gets us useful feedback.

Trying to be funny? This is exactly what AdBlock was designed for, stop shiny banners from loading so they don't spoil your screen, and in case of lame connections, speed. Of course it stops MD Banners just as much as any other banners on the market Other than that, the Loreroot banner starts a sentence with a lower case letter, that's not nice. It doesn't matter much if there are typos like tat in the game poems, but ads have to look awesome, and looking awesome excludes such stuff.

Also, due to the change in the general gathering spot: You can NOT enter late anymore. Only participants who were in the park at the time the competition starts AND don't leave at any time during the contest can win.

Our alts have some more valueable things than old creatures Pip already indicated it, nobody is going to crucify you if you use the aged creatures yourself, but since you asked for the legality, i thought i'd use the topic to make that clear on the go. Just shouldn't turn into regular practice.

Even if it's really two players, it's borderline. When you take the account of somebody else and access it yourself, it's most definitely not (completely) somebody else's account anymore, but yours as well. If the other person has no intention of returning to his account, either, it turns completely into yours. And therefor your alt. Imagine how that'd go otherwise... I take the alts of my brother, and he takes mine, we sell each others belongings and rightfully keep the benefit... We'd both turn into millionaires in the next two weeks xD
-
Whatever way you go, it's alt abuse. You can neither take the creatures, nor take the benefits of selling them within the rules.

Hooray for finally being done with exams! The next event is scheduled for Monday, June 27th, at 12:00. Fifth round goes to Passant the Weak with a little over 200 off: Passant the weak 4842 12:59:37 Current standing: Ravenstrider 1 dst 1 Passant the weak 1
