personally, i think that the history of alts shouldn't go into the book of ancients... the player KC is still around, 'his spirit hasn't left the realm', if you want to put it that way, so i don't think he's amongst the characters who left... once the Archies are starting on important people who are still here, KC would be amongst the first imo, but the way it is he isn't truely gone... i guess, such alt businesses always confuse me XD

maybe becasue we like new players to get lost? nah, seriously, this game is not about rushing from a to b, so you can really afford to have some backsteps... and sooner or later, you'll know all the way and places blindfolded

first of all, 300 is rather high, that's a 300% bonus for a grasan and even more for an archer... did you even consider that? or is it 'normal' for you to have crits with over 2000 atk? and the token limit is no trouble at all, we also got the losses limit while some people were way under the max losses... those with heavy-tokend crits would have something really valueable for trading/fighting, whatever they like better, i guess apart from that, it would at least be somehow manageable to win against a grasan with 1200 atk and 600 def, while it's pretty impossible to win against one with 50k atk and def

if that's your point, we can stop MD right now, cause people are capable of working around every rule and mechanic in all of MD if they want to... remember hardcore-grinding? that's avoiding the usual stat-gains, so should we fight without stats from now on? rare creatures? people can get tons of them when they want to do it, should we take them out of the game? MD Shop? people with patience/dedication can avoid buying creds, so should the shop be closed? i guess this must be pretty hard for an abrasive young man like yourself, but you can't have both... you are either amongst the strong players OR amongst the 'good' players, if you want to call the creative ways of being faster bad at all, or you'll need lots of patience...

how about closing this due to off-topicness? not forever, of course... just til someone has something to say on the issue...

you consider this work? i think you should throughly think about your attitude towards MD... if you think grinding is work, you are surely doing it wrong LOL and really, how much time do you wnat people to invest? being a GM IS a job, same with being an RPC, they are doing a goddamn hard job every day to make the game a bit more worthwhile for the rest of the players who are here for FUN if you want a bunch of GMs out there again, you'll need to replace them every 2 weeks, MD will burn them out within days if they have to deal with such bs as minor alt-abuse, player-squabbles, 'checking honesty of people' and whatever else you are thinking about... in all the time people are dealing with such things, they can't play and are most likely not having any fun, and unlike RPCs, who can take break from questing and such, a GM would have to be there 24/7 for all the crap happening in MD... Shoeps was a great and active player before he was made GM, and look at him now... he's sick of MD!

see, i agree with you on the fact that alts with the single purpose of storing creatures there are not 'right', but most alts do a lot more than that... most of them have a role of some kind, else people wouldn't bother to play them, and filtering the few which don't have any purpose is just too much work for the little damage they can actually do if you personally don't want to use alts for tokens, VE and so on, fine, don't do it and have the feeling that you are morally superior to others, but if others want to do it, let them and think of them what you like...

seems i popped in too late for this topic, it's already flamed enough the way it is... just one more question: why do you care if players boost their VE a tiny bit faster than normally? alts in HC are being punished anyway... and people rping with themselves is pityable, but why should it be banned? who cares? don't read the crap if you don't like it, and sometimes something good comes off it...

darksky and claws are WAY overpowered, the rest is quite okay imo... tokens could be nice2have-features, but currently, they are grotesquely throwing any strategy over board and encourage brute force and alt-abuse... specially the atk and def boni of claw and darksky need limits, or at least another calculation, i'll just be pointing over to [url="http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/4647-tokens/page__view__findpost__p__37134"]this topic[/url] for ideas people already had... [i guess that's the one Tarquinus was talking about, too] unlike Tarquinus, i don't mind the init at all, since any boost of init will almost surely give your creature the first strike, and that's a nice strategic effect to use, it's more the lethal more-than-10k-attacks that bother me with the tokens... other tokens, specially blooddrop, show a superb approach with their % increases, but don't work unless you have exactly those principles, which is quite annoying for people who miss one of those principles the Ve tokens are quite easily countered, no objections to those, even though doubled Vit on rusty is quite a lot, too XD

more general '[u]combat issues[/u]', which include balancing tokens and fixing auras as most pressing matters, and factions, protectors and torch-comp as side-notes

as htey all seem to cling to the children business, i may as well add my thought on that too... i dislike the kids that are played by their parents, like... well, almost all those carpet-rats out there... for me it's not about them being kids, that's fine, it's about them being alts and people interacting with themselves day after day and even calling that roleplaying -.- b2t: i hardly ever feel insulted about things in games, so your page just made me smile, even though it concerns me in some parts xD nonetheless, it's quite offensive all along, and some people might feel insulted by it, specially those you are aiming at... when you put such things on a public place, you can be sure to get some hate mails, small wonder you got some XD so, i could summarize: no, i don't feel insulted myself, but i think it's offensive enough to be insulting to some, and i think that's the reason why people would be bothered, as some of those ever-happy-smiling-guys-and-girls out there make it their mission to make this place joyfull for all or something the like... i never quite understood that concept :/ apart from that, maybe lots of people who are sending you some trash-mail have another acc that is concerned by the things there, maybe they play their own child, maybe they have a firebending knight...
