What Magic Duel means to me....
Where do I even start?  I am older than many in this game, and grew up on D&D and MUD games.  I started the game in February of 2009 as Phantasm.  Khalazdad was still in his tent outside Necrovion, Peace was just starting to really bloom, Kragel was still smithing, Grido was just another live help operator (though the best), and Sagewoman was running the Loreroot Inn.  DST didn't hate me then, and Zeiphneir was as strange as they came.  How I loved to sit around at the different locations and listen to the stories they would tell.  I loved the crazy fights with Sagewoman, who i eventually married, who I eventually laid to rest at the Inn.  I thought as a newer player, oh man I can't wait to be like these heroes of mine of MD.  It was always so sad when a player would stop playing.  Some stopped forever, some stopped for short intervals, and some were taken over.
As my life started moving fast with the introduction of grandchildren I grew apart from MD.  I tried to hold on, but life outside grows faster by the day.  I stopped playing video games once I realized how precious the time was that I had, and try to use every minute of it to its fullest.  Being a part of MD is also a part of who I am today.  I think back fondly about everyone in the game, even those who were my sworn enemies on the game.  In real life they are all together in a place in my heart and mind.  They helped me grow and learn.  We grew as true of friendships as any life could hope for.  We learned the pain in our hearts when we saw one of our dear friends stop playing.  We experienced life as real as any other due to because that is how this game was designed, and the dedicated players who kept it that way.

I do not wish to clutter the forums at all.  Taking that is the way you feel about it, the Day and Al are sold.  The rest will continue until bidding is over.
*edit* actually noticed most creatures bids are 2 days old or more minus Timmy and Elrond.

Bidding will be considered over about 13:00 day 318 year 9.

I agree with the RPCs.  They used to keep people *cough* who abused other players in check with their powers.  You never saw flat out harassment of players when Z and others had the powers stop them.  Not only did RPCs keep a good balance of play, but they also were able to change the game with their unique outlook on the game.  When you have 6 people, who are worthy of such a role, there are 6 directions that are taken.  While each direction may not be the 'right' one, they are directions that make MD more unique.

I LOVED when Kragel used to have his quests for making items.  There was a journey, and often support of the other players to finish the item.  The Crafter's Guild pretty much did nothing, then became extinct.  I LOVED that Z used to cause whole groups of people to flock to see Tree.  Those people impacted the game in huge ways that HELPED MD.  Now all we have is power hungry, overpowered people who wish nothing more then to run off anyone who "doesn't see MD their way".  RPCs didn't do that, and in fact often encouraged players to be their own person in the game.  To me, the game became very one sided  about who had the most items, and the most power, and could abuse the most players.  It USED to be about how can we help players become their own role, no matter how ridiculous they seem.

We hear DST whine about "unrealisic RP, and RP not done "her" way".  MD was built upon unrealisitc fantasies.  Actually when I first started, it was claimed you can to ANYTHING in MD as long as you put enough effort into it.  Now most people that join MD (the ones I have had a chance to speak with) see the game as most other web based games.  Gain as much as you can, spend what money you have to to be powerful enough to compete, and then leave when people who have nothing better to do with their life then spend it power grinding beat them into stat damage.  Any time they try and do some sort of RP event, unless it falls under DST's distinct flavor for RP, it get disrupted and the players get harassed.

Definitely Kragel and the sleeping goat. I couldn't figure out how to beat the bull, so went the other way as far as I could and found Kragel.  He said he was too busy at the smith, but find the one under the tree.  Of course I found Z who was much more alert in those days.  Though that was the first time someone helped me, it has yet to be the last.  From days spent lounging under the trees in Loreroot, to the long evenings spent outside the tent listening to stories told about scary things hidden down in the secretive Necrovion.  Too many helped to ever try and list in full.

    Bored and curious.
The first person that spoke to and offered me advice was some person named Yoshi back in 2008. I was around 15 or 16, first online game and had no clue what I was doing. I was looking at the Berserker Way puzzle and he told me to go to the PC. I don't think I was ever contacted by an LHO on my main account back then, only on alts years later when I returned.
LHO's are probably a given so LHO and the first normal person would be interesting to know.

Sorry for the long wait for an update.  With the birthday party and all the new changes its been a very busy time for everyone.  We have come up with a quest and as soon as we have the tools to start, it will be announced and we will start getting people back to the world of the living.  If anything I hope that death teaches us patience.  It will be a permanent quest that requires patience and foot work.

In order for us to bring loved ones back from the dead, we must fist create a funeral crown.  In order to do that we must first know what one looks like.  So this quest is to draw what you think a funeral crown would look like.  It is mainly made from flowers.  This quest will run from 6/11 to 6/24.

The rewards to start with will be 2 gold coins and your drawing will be turned into the item picture.  If there are lots of drawings send in, more rewards will be added.

added amendment to quest.  You can make a real life funeral crown and submit the picture as well.  As always it must have an MD signature in the picture to prove its yours and done currently for the quest.  A way to take part of the quest even if you can't draw, like me.

    Hey guys!
I didn't want to offend nobody with the 'fake till you make it' actually I do appreciate his proposal and his move, since this is the move of a leader and one that is unafraid of taking the first step. And if you are unafraid of facing some resistance do more.
Actually if the "fake it till you make it" is something offensive my deep apologizes to Eon.
PS. Phantasm the title of the post has the "my citizens" term.
