  1. Of course it should be just as easy, I'm exceptionally lazy and impatient. Going to the GGG you find about 4 alliance members and 3 non allies. It's a pain in the butt that we get hit every 8 minutes and can only hit back every 40 minutes. And with the perma balance of alliance members, incoming attacks really shouldn't be a problem. Frankly having no targets for anyone is just annoying for everyone.
  2. There are very few people to hit around anymore. It's hard to get bursts or even train trees. If you don't want people using alts to hit for training, then there need to be other targets. Right now, there aren't.
  3. Regenerate as it now works simply gives negative exp equal to blah blah. I suppose to much of a spoiler exactly how it works, but it doesn't actually heal. So with this it would give exp without damaging? That'd be kinda useful really. Especially since theoretically it would be the difference between current and 0 instead... Awesomely useful critter.
  4. Hmmm... Probably you only read the first post Sparr? Or perhaps you disagree that not being able to be attacked often is a bad thing. Heck, if it's a benefit, I'd like to be able to opt out. As for the honor, you get honor equal to double the loyalty you receive from alliance battles.
  5. But- I- Look at the fa... And the eh... and the... Look at the bones.
  6. When you talk about the choices depending on stats do you mean max stats or current stats? Should I be bursting before certain choices? Taking bursts so I'm valuable enough?
  7. I'm not in an alliance due to the cursed downsides. However, the fact that the attack cooldown is 40 minutes doesn't help alliance members and hurt non-allies, it hurts everyone. That is the main reason that I don't want to be in an alliance, I WANT to be attacked every 8 minutes. And as I said, almost all MP5s are in an alliance. It may be that it's a privilege and not a right, but if that's the case it's a privilege everyone and their alt appear to have. (Though a lot of alts aren't in as that would defeat their purpose.) As for the honor deal. It serves no purpose other than to annoy people. Should alliances have advantages? Sure, better stats, people to work with, RP purposes. They have advantages. Oh, and one more thing. Alliance members can't attack each other. That makes alliance training rather difficult. But they can attack allied alliances. I understand that loyalty/honor issues would come up if members of an alliance are able to attack each other. It doesn't make sense for allies to get honor/loyalty for attacking each other. Unless you say that training with a fellow warrior is both honorable and loyal (which it kind of is). But lets face it, walking isn't terribly loyal. Neither is attacking allied alliance members, or atttacking non enemy alliance members for training. Heck, I'd call that dishonorable and unloyal from a realism standpoint, that's how wars start, and frankly, attacking a member of another alliance unprovoked. (Ok, clearly that's not the way things work here. But let's face it it's certainly not loyal or honorable either.)
  8. I don't recall having listed a single benefit. Just that they'll take anyone, and there's no obvious downside.
  9. Photons do not have a rest mass, but do have a mass. Relativistically mass is defined as m=(mass at speed=0)/((1-v^2/c^2)^.5) We'll note that photons are always moving the speed c. (C as defined as the speed of light, not necessarily constant through all mediums) Since it's always moving it doesn't really have a rest speed. The difficulty of this equation is that it clearly cannot be applied to something moving the speed C as m=0/0---->Undefined. Photons behave like both particles and waves. It acts like it has mass in other words. Light exhibits all known behaviors associated with mass. Now, one could exclude a photon of "pure energy" from being mass depending on the definition, however you'll get conflicting accounts from scientists. The mass-energy equivalence comes with the result that energy has mass. E=mc^2 is not so much that you can change mass into energy and vice versa, but that they are in fact the same thing except by human placed concepts. Edit: You can use other equations to imply that light has mass, but they all fall from the fact that you treat E=mc^2 as just that. Energy is equivalent to mass. It's not some sort of chemical reaction like E<---->mc^2.
  10. Call me necrothreader. I would like to see a bit more of a mission statement on the GotR alliance. Also, as this is the self titled GotR thread, perhaps an update for those who come here looking for what is going on in the alliance? Perhaps this thread should be removed and another created? Or perhaps a GotR: updated. Aught be created. That having been said, what is the purpose of GotR? Just protecting LR? What defines protecting LR? For example, say I came in and decided I wanted to take over LR, but you're all free to live there and continue about your business. Obviously there would be issue with this and I would either be killed or thrown in jail. (possibly just thrown out as I am no particular real threat). I guess I'm asking, who's interests, are you protecting? Or what group of people's interests. I hear a lot of lets protect LR, but what do you mean by that?
  11. Death Ray seems most reasonable here. Why would you join GotR in order to protect a bunch of trees? Or perhaps you want to protect access to the critters? The only reason to join an alliance is for their cause, and for the people in it. I want to join because I love the location, well, that's just silly. I find it odd that the only one with a reasonable cause to join is questioned. Of course some of the things he says are strange and a little questionable. Edit to be less off topic.
  12. I believe the purpose is to be off topic.
  13. *laughs evily* Watch as my alt army turns the poll in my favor! But seriously. I really want to know specifics here, and why is there no court case? What would be a better situation for a case? Yeah, I understand Mur would be the judge anyway, and there's no jury so to speak, but there have not been any specifics made public here. Seems silly to have a poll based on our ignorance... Wait, so at the court, Mur is judge, there's no jury, and being the programmer... COMING NEXT FALL-----JUDGE MUR. He's judge, jury and... EXECUTIONER! (Sorry, I'm bored...)
  14. The king is the obnoxious worthless piece that can't do anything worthwhile and as such needs to be protected by everyone else.
  15. I think the fact that there's only one sisterhood, the fact that anyone and there mother is welcome, the fact that it has no penalties for being in it, and the fact that being in the sisterhood does not exclude your from being in a group that actually does something all have a great deal to do with the high membership. No offense.
  16. http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/4575-alliance-situation/ Some stuff about alliances.
  17. The majority of MP5s are alliance members, and there really aren't that many people on anymore. Now, I checked through the new ideas and didn't really find anything, except for perhaps treehill's (the link was broken though). For those of us not in alliances, there are a great many pains, and for them as well. Firstly (and I find this incredibly strange) I can't become permabalanced as I am not in an alliance. That's a royal pain in the butt really, but isn't too helpful with the second issue. Honor. If you're not in an alliance and you're balanced, you're screwed on honor. The whole concept of honor is supposed to be me getting honor for attacking stronger players and losing it for attacking weaker players. There are a lot of MP4s who come up to MP5 and give a lot of honor that are pushovers in the MP5 world. I'm not the strongest MP5 by far, but I can only get honor off of a couple of people. The honor system does not work as intended and makes no sense. Something needs to be done about it. Honor was the original cause of problems. What does that have to do with alliances? Alliance members can gain honor for attacking other alliance members (even allied ones). Us non-allied people are just screwed. Finally. Cooldown. There are not a lot of MP5s, almost all of them are alliance, especially now with these new alliances. I understand that MP4s can have serious issues with being pounded by stronger people, but MP5s should not have problems with MP4s and MP3s. If they do they are likely not a person who cares overmuch about fighting. Why do MP5s need a 40 minute cool down on being attacked? It's unreasonable. EDIT: I forgot to mention the unreasonably short battles. I think the adjective says it all...
  18. E=MC^2. Einstein was showing that mass and energy are indeed convertible, as you've said. However, though I've never heard this mentioned in any class, I don't believe it's possible to have energy without mass. Those particles you mentioned have kinetic energy because it is mass moving. Also, chaos (entropy if you will) is defined as usable energy being lost to chaos. If it were total chaos, there would be know energy capable of doing work. @I'm really confused. Are you saying that something can come from nothing? Or that order can come from disorder? I would argue that waves (or anything with energy, even if it is "pure energy" [which to my knowledge does not exist]) is not nothing, it is something, therefor even assuming it could create mass it would not be something from nothing.
  19. One could also argue that everything is simply EVERY THING. If that's the case then in the middle is every thing, which makes sense. Every thing is simply all things in existence. So, if at first there is nothing, then at the end (We'll assume there's an end, why not) there is also nothing, then in between those to must have been everything in existence at any point. Of course Grido makes a good point that something can't come from nothing. Is that really the case? Seems logical because we haven't experienced it, and we have all these physical laws. Of course if we are going by experience and physical laws we will also arrive at the conclusion that chaos was not the beginning, because order can not come from total chaos. To our knowledge it never has, and the second law of thermodynamics says that chaos can not be made ordered without causing even more chaos. Pi is not random, it is the relation between the diameter and circumference of a circle, or radii and volume of a sphere, whatever. Of course it can be predicted.
  20. Could there perhaps be a more detailed explanation of the crime? Otherwise it is difficult to make an educated decision. Preferably a case from both sides. Ideally a CASE from both sides. (For those of you not so big on subtlety I am suggesting that there be a court case on the matter.)
  21. I thought the directions were quite clear. Key words that YOU used. Some of you had lists about have a page long. If you actually used all of those you'd get a hit on everything ever been posted on the web. Also, Metal Bunny already hit on Unique. I believe I used Free browser based game, or free browser based rpg. This brought me to a game list, Magic Duel was around number 4 and the one's above it were not particularly interesting.
  22. No Fenrir, it would be a plane viewed from a 3d perspective. Any two dimensional point exists inside it. (I suppose I should add real).
  23. The current system of upgrading is certainly not perfect. No system is ever perfect, there is always room for improvement.
  24. Strange, what on earth kind of game is this that people might want to RP people with special powers? Sorry if people join Magic Duel thinking that they might be able to use magic in under 7 months. As it is 10% of the population have something in the MD system.
  25. If you don't know why twin strikes could be increadibly handy, I won't mention it. The Sluggish Slam does not have the chance to miss the original did, but hits at round 1. (In other words it's like sluggish strike, but 200% instead of the 150%) Something you may not be considering is that damage=attack-defense. This means twin strikes is .2*attack-2*defense each round. Sluggish averages to attack-.5defense each round. I suppose I'll follow suit and ask that this topic be closed so I can throw one in with a poll in it.
