Ann. 1896 - [2011-07-09 03:33:48 - Stage 10] Memory stones functionality is done. They work in the following way: If you have a memory stone, and a spell, you can use all the casts of that spell at once to "memorize" that spell into the stone, enchanting it. The memory stone will then transform into an enchanted stone, named after the stored spell. This is a usable, tradeable item. When someone uses it, it will grant that person a limited number of casts from the stored spell, till the casts get consumed or for a period of 6 month. When casts run out or 6 month pass, the spell will vanish from that persons spells. Memory stones are a resource type of item and its gathering will be possible soon.

Ann. 1899 - [2011-07-09 07:38:06 - Stage 10] Acquiring memory stones Aranna and Lone Wolf were granted the stone detector item to be able to gather the memory stone resource and make it avaiable on the market (at prices or requirements they decide). This is not a guild, it is a freelance activity and a temporary way to make memory stones available and analyse market evolution and use. The tools can be taken away from them at any time but their trade benefits and/or gathered stones will remain as their reward. Aranna and Lone Wolf are supposed to be competing traders of the Memory stone resource so be sure you check both their offers when you wish to aquire a memory stone from them. This is experimental, discuss it on forum.
Firstly, I would like to point out that at current there is not a Guild for the gathering of Memory Stones. This post is just about discussing which land it should be allied with should a formal guild ever be established for this purpose. To this end, I would like people to respond to the above poll. I think it would be a good idea if a representative from each interested land would post an argument for why it should be in their land. Remember of course that this is just getting your opinion, Mur as always has the final say and may have already decided a land for this guild, should he ever make it a guild. I believe this guild would be most suited to the Archives. The Archives are a neutral land, and we already have a treasury for supporting our projects. Most of our members are also adept spell casters, allowing for spells to be added to memory stones in the same place they are purchased. As we are required to remain Neutral, wars and other political developments should not impact our probability of selling wares to any person, nor should we have much difficulty harvesting the memory stones when required. I would also like to see this guild located in the Archives, as I believe that it will help to promote interest in the MDA. Because a lot of the duties that the Archivists and Legend Speakers perform are not widely publicized, a lot of people ignore the Archives. [The following is purely my own reasons, and not representative of the archives in any way beyond myself] I do not believe that the Guild, if created, should be associated with Marind Bell, as they now have the Water Gatherers. As a main land, it would also make situations complex in the event of war, even if the guild is itself neutral. I do not believe that the Guild, if created, should be associated with Loreroot, as they already have the Woodcutters. Again, they also have complications in the event of war, however in the past we have seen that Lorerootian Alliances tend to be more liberal, so this is less of a concern. I do not believe that the Guild, if created, should be associated with Necrovion, because their land already contains many, many secrets and natural resources. I also believe they would be the most likely to close borders in the event of war or other political instability. Note to the Mods: If the King/Queen of one of the four lands requests that one of their subjects posts be removed from this topic, I'm not going to mind (ie, you have free reign to edit this topic without discussing/notifying me). Primarily this is in relation to the idea it be a leader chosen representative who presents the argument for that land.

Happy Birthday, Grido!

Woot! Happy Birthday, Grido! -
What happens if you have two different spells, and the trigger for one is the first part for another? ie: Spell One: Along came a spider Spell Two: Along
-
No, they where just supposed to. Mur eventually made it so it was the Gazebo that activated, instead.

Happy Birthday, Handy Pockets!

Happy Birthday -
The only reason you wouldn't get people entering this is because of the lack of prizes. While you yourself might not have much to give, if you ask around I think you will find the older players to be surprisingly generous. The other thing to keep in mind is that some players have been at MP3 for years, so it may be a good idea to limit it to those who have less than 365 active days (if you click a person and where there are normally colored arrows below their name there is a little blue/purple/green diamond, they have 365 active days or more)

Services I can provide: Training, research, literary works, and spells. More specific details will be released upon inquiry to whoever is successful of my purchase. Note: I will not give spoilers. If spoilers are asked for, I will help and lead you to the solution, but I won't give you it. As a time frame has not been stated for how long this tenure is to be for, I will allow the bidders to choose themselves. However, I will not accept a tenure of longer than 14 days. Obviously, if two people bid the same amount, whoever is asking for the lesser amount of time is in fact bidding more per day.

Try thinking of the principles as ideas to be understood; things that require largely no interaction with to be observed. The Ki/Chi "principle" is more a philosophy, and from certain perspectives, a resources.

Petition for closing the Angiens Shrine

I have to say that I agree with your reasoning, and agree that it would be better to have a situation like the Drachorn Cave, rather than like the Necrovion Graveyard. -
Fenth's Press 0 AP requirement when you have 0
Kyphis the Bard replied to ChildOfTheSoul's topic in Resolved Bugs
It does consume 20 AP each time you sac a creature, until the reduction would take you to a negative AP value, at which point it just sets it to 0. I don't know if that is how it is supposed to work, however. -
With them not being online, i guess it only checks on location, so thats a bug. As for transfering to alts, Mur has stated that its allowed and isnt a bug, But most will frown on transferring items and coins across from alt to main.
I recall from the announcement of when this change occurred that you just needed the location, too facilitate different time zones? So this would actually be working as intended >.> (not a 100% sure on this, just stating my perspective and suggesting someone look into it, if Chewett has reached that point in his project should be easiest for him. I'd look myself, but its 1am here) And as far as transferring between accounts, I recall Mur stated it was okay (but frowned upon) ONLY if the items where not gained for free. Hence Ledah's imprisonment for abusing the "free credits on signup" deal while certain items early in the permanent boosters branch gave coins (ie, since the credits where a gift, the coins counted as "free" and hence not permissible for transfer, unlike coins obtained later in the shop which require some kind of effort, either through voting, questing, trading, or cash to obtain)

Types of sale threads, Auctions vs Offers
Kyphis the Bard replied to Rumi's topic in Market debate and related topics
However, I would argue that in certain cases it is better to withdraw the bid. Myself, I have withdrawn from bidding (not withdrawing a bid) because I had made a deal with one of the other bidders, and we where bidding as a group. Another instance would be if the environment changes (for example BHC getting announced, or its price increasing), thus changing the way that your funds are allocated. In this instance, it would be far ruder to let your bid stand if you can't actually pay, and is actually a sign of good trading to let the seller know asap. A further instance is when the, purchase is for a specific cause (ie, the two examples you cited) and you are requested to stop bidding, due to either group consensus changing or development of a new plan, or some other change that results in your bid being a bad move instead. Again, leaving a bid in place that you no longer intend to fulfill, regardless of whether you intended to initially or not, would be quite rude and bad trading practice. It is much more polite to let the seller know asap that the situation has changed. And there are even further extensions of these instances that I won't go into right now... Also, eBay does have policies that allow for backing out of bids. Just generally not before the bidding ends (except in special cases). -
Jason Vorhees (Golemian): 6gc 13sc
-
Aye, this is all true. I was not aware Jason, who held the highest bid, was a member of the Guerillas when I was requested to raise the bid, so I raised it. However, Jason and I have been in contact and since sorted it out, so unless someone outbids what he is willing to bid, he is aware of my reserve, and if either of our reserves are met we will discuss to what extent we can work together to increase that.

6gc to see it in Golemus
-
I should probably point out that for an alpha test to occur it would only really need One king to agree to it >.> And that the point of idea threads is to get feedback to see if the idea can be worked into a form that fits the current incarnation of MD, not to hear peoples opinion on whether its a good idea or not (although those are valuable replies as well). Very few ideas will ever be presented in a way that already fits MD, but just because one part of it doesn't fit doesn't mean that the whole thing has to be discarded. Babies and Bathwater....
-
I like this idea, and am glad that something similar to this has been instated already with how approachable all the kings and queens have always worked to make themselves for those they deem appropriate to be available to.

There is absolutely no need or benefit for further attackable NPCs in this game. Combat is another form of social interaction, as it should be. The NPCs that are in the game serve to teach specific things and hide many hidden secrets. Adding more NPC's would serve no purpose because a) they are not able to be interacted with other than combat b) you can fight hundreds of different people at each MP level c) they would detract from the messages of all the other NPC's (Such as the Land Guardian). This is an idea that has come up many times before, however due to the nature of MD new NPCs are only possible when major changes occur to the game in terms of the world itself, not how that world works.

And I'm willing to pay 4 gold to see it in the hands of a Golemian (Such as Burns )
