1.
I think its just the last color in your stats that can fit in the text box that changes the color. So if the last one is affected by territory, then the text will be blue, alliance would be green, etc.
Doesn't appear that way to me, I have seen many colors that aren't in those stats.
2. Looks like we finally have something solid here... EDIT: I just had the most wonderful thought... I wonder what code we need to get Mur speech?
3.
Not all stats appear in chat, I just made another stat number end the line...
Would you be able to PM me the code that appears in the chat log plus the first character excluded, and the colour it produced for you? Also tell me which browser your using, please.
4.
I used other stats and was able to get at least 4 colors...
How did you vary the codes? (ie which part did the code terminate, where did it come from, and did it end in an open bracket situation? Anything else you can think of, as well)
5. I use Trend Micro, and it reports it.
6.
@ Kyphis... I managed to get 4 different colors, with different stats it worked for me Also, IE and FF dont show the same color always
I have been performing tests with the Pips, and have observed the change in color that different browsers present. The transition is instant, and you can have the screens next to each other and have different colors visible in the chat. I suspect this is due to the way the code is handled by the different browsers... Did you get different colors on the same account each time, and if not what did you change? Please tell me the colors, as well.
7. Testing performed: Multiple consecutive instances increase the duration of text mutation (ie two consecutive inputs of same persons stats results in the next two inputs being that persons "highlight". Have yet to test with other peoples stats, players weren't co-operative...) Duration only exists for as long as the stats are on screen, once the stat leaves the Chat log the result is removed (ie if you build up a full 14 entries, then begin counting from 1 up, when you type 7 all will be highlighted, but when you type 8 both seven and eight will be normal, then once you type 9, 6-9 will be normal, etc) It doesn't require 100% of your stats be posted, and the actual values appears to be irrelevant (but my coulor is an oddity that can be produced by other things, so that isn't conclusive) NOTE: This is different to the ( )( )( )( )( )( ) effect (reported to me as discovered by Fawe, credit to him), which only changes the next text to grey, and doesn't stack. However, different does not mean unrelated. EDIT: Further testing has shown that it IS related! UPDATE: I tested this with both Death Ring's.Marvolo.'s stats, and the output color was still my normal highlight. I suspect that the color is not linked to stats, but profile. UPDATE: The effect only occurs if the last value that the chat log accepts is an open bracket, and there is additional information put into the input bar that is not displayed. I have also observed that if the open bracket is at the beginning of the line in it's first post, the persons name goes on the same line, after the bracket and highlighted, and this effect continues for each subsequent post (ie only the first input needs the open bracket on the first position of a new line, in each consecutive post it just needs to be identical information)
8.
MP7 can be attacked by anyone, I think, and the only way MP6 can fight at all is alliance, so they can be hit too And also, Shadow probably has some nifty powers ^^
So MP7 don't have Sanctuaries?
9. I would like to remain on the Free to Attack list, and I suggest the list be re-organized into MP level for quick reference Also: I suggest that, because of the issue of MP4/5 alliance aggressions, the stance that if you are in an alliance you are excluded from protection in the SG. Otherwise it gets to unfair, and people in an alliance should be receiving tutelage from other members, or the alliance isn't fulfilling all its roles. Saves on silly complaints that plagued the old Dojo, or you will just be making another area for people to complain on.
10.
Punishment will be handled through public means..however be assured that we have means to reach EVERY MP. And that you won't like it.
*raises eyebrows in surprise* Even six and seven? *laughs* Seriously though, I will still remain around the SG with my crazy experiments, you have my support
11. Hmmm... After reading that, I have a few things to say. First, I'd just like to state that I do use the Dojo, and Have found it very usefull, and from my experience I have found that it does work. HOWEVER: I have also not seen very much indication of battle strategy being taught there. I would also like to say that I was the sort of person who didn't go outside Marind Bell until after exploring everywhere else, simply because of the AP cost to do so (Now I laugh at my behaviour back then, but that's what it's like when your new) Ok: 1. I agree with the idea of moving the Dojo to the Fenth's Press. It makes sense, because you can have a sparring pit populated by MP2 sitting right outside for rituals, is so close to the GoE, and doesn't prevent you from training if you want to. It would eliminate the need for idling rules, as anyone in the sparring pit should be fair game. In regards to the idea of people waiting there to slaughter anyone who came out, I don't think you would get to many people doing that as people using it would probably have very weak creatures, therefor giving very little EXP. 2. If having an MP2 horde is to unsightly, why not have an NPC that behaves like a character who has no creatures? Able to open the ritual setting window, but gives the response of no defending force, so can't be eliminated from the area. Make it a statue, or something. 3. I had myself removed from Dojo protection, but still spend most of my time there. My aim? I normally have a ritual set that is strong enough to beat most other MP3's, so I deter hit and runners from attacking the dojo. People ARE willing to defend the Dojo, You only need to ask. 4. Rather than spells, whenever I see someone complaining about being attacked in Dojo I tell the victim to leave a note in the players PL, and leave it there until the player demonstrates a changed attitude. Temporary Black Marks can do wonders... To sumarrise: Idealy, if the system is to broken, move it here and set up a non-combat NPC. You get safety of a sanctuary, ritual setting plus agreed fights, and access to the GoE, where Veterans are often online to offer advice, as well as LHO. This would also mean you wouldn't need as many Dojo staff, just the ones who were doing their job properly. (Wish I'd been able to go to the debate, but it was at 4am...)
12. I like the idea in principle, however I will personally only use it if I have the ability to manually enter emails (no connecty from me!)
13.
I must have my say here. Too many avatars are dying, yes. But, my nature is to drop things for a couple of months and come back to them. I am sure I am not alone. My account is over a year old, but I have less than half of that as active days. So, "no" to 1 cred per month and "no" to 15 days per month. I am totally behind Chewett's suggestion, though. My edit on that: 3 active days for each 3 month period. And I like the idea of giving someone their credit back when they lose their avvy.
Although I have only missed a few days since I became properly active in the game, I have to say that the idea of losing my avatar just because I can't log in (which does occasionaly happen) is quite upsetting. I like apophys' suggestion best so far, however I would also suggest that, as Woodsman suggested, there be an additional option in the avatar section. However, I don't suggest that that option be for older players to have exclusive access to pre-owned avatars, but that the previous owner have the exclusive option of re-purchasing their avatar for one month after it is stripped from their account. This would be fairer to those who have trouble with regular loggins, but also penalize those who purchase an avatar without a proper commitment to the game, and end up preventing others in the community getting something they would actually put to use. I do not agree with the idea of a refund from having your avatars stripped. This is because of the free credits system, as well as the ability to transfer avatars. If you get a refund, then you will get people purchasing avatars on their alts, transferring them to their main, and letting them return to the shop for the refund and re-purchasing them on their other accounts. While in the first time frame you would make a lose of credits, once the first lot of refunds hit you would have a constant stream of extra credits passing through. Anything which makes it easier to cheat like that, and abuse the privileges we have be granted, should be examined carefully... However, for those who are unable to loggin to their accounts for some reason, rather than trust someone with their account, they would be able to transfer their avatar to another person (who they trust, obviously) to avoid losing it and having to re-purchase it. This would be safer, and allows people to hold onto an avatar they really wish to keep if they have no option but to be away for a period beyond the time frame. To avoid having people abuse this idea, I suggest having a cool down period before an avatar can be transferred each time, but the recipient should also have the option of paying a fine in credits to transfer it sooner.
14. I have this same bug, and these are the conditions that it occured under: Adept was added during MP2 stage, not signup stage Adept left during MP3 stage I'm looking for an MP2 to test this theory with, so if anyone has an Alt at MP2 that hasn't been adepted yet (ever), get in touch in game (I'm Kyphis in game)
15. I found it by a banner ad that said "unlike anything you have seen befor" (after my neopet account dissappeared, grr....) Checked it out for a little, but didn't even get my first creature befor my brother used up all our bandwidth, and I forgot about it. Then, Mur sent out those 5 free credits, and I came back and have been hooked ever since! I (obviously) didn't find it by anything related to a google search, but I google the game quite often to look up things, and I find the easiest thing to use is player names (my own especialy, for some reason. Which is odd, since I use the name most places I go...)
16. It's interesting to me that I no longer see this sign on the gate... Anyone know why? I have been asking around, but I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone... Edit: Got my answer, thank-you King Manu!
17.
Most Balanced/Integrated into MD
Kyphis the Bard
Rewards: The category winners get two silver coins and a PS trophy each.

Hehe, this is what I get for not being able to check these results for so long... I got my trophy, but I don't seem to have those coins... Also: Congratulations Brightshield!
18. Why is this topic so quiet? This place should be jumping by now!
19. Count me in

21. Willows bend but never break In the end your heart we'll take Faces to the hidden wall With hunter's eyes we sound the call Fire and Ice shall make our war Frozen thunder, burning thaw I wrote that while waiting for the lights to change, and only just noticed that each second line has a single point of punctuation (other than the capitals and spaces) while the others have none... Edit: Don't really have a doc in mind
22. The deciding factor in whether I participate will be the payment the slave is given... Suggestion: have the payment recieved by the slave relative to the amount of time for indenture, and have the slave set the time for indenture when they are put up for auction (that way the person knows what they're actualy getting) You could also have various pricing models, for instance "slave x for 5 days starts at 5 silver, or for 4 weeks at 35 silver" (or whatever values you end up using since those values are huge)(for whatever time frames the slave agrees to when put up initialy)
23. Doesn't that actualy mean two pyramids equals two cubes? Or is it a single voided cube? --- Forgeting the geometric nature of the cube: Wouldn't of anyone who was able to understand this puzzle, the first cube they saw be a reflection on the person themselves? Whether it was the internal cube you saw first or the external... I would say that a persons inability to solve the puzzle also says something about them, but since almost no one got it that would be pretty hard to define...
24. I'm working hard to become a bard, and I do a lot of story and poetry telling, singing, dancing, and general merrymaking. I would love to see this fair get off the ground as a place where I can practice my entertainers trade. Question: The wepon shops in MD... they all mention "stock", and it is (as far as I have seen) always unlimited... if a limit was placed on the stock of each item, say a certain amount each season, and not all items available every season, it would create a similar market environment as with creatures. Also: It would be cool to actualy get a specific map location for the fair, perhaps with several screens to avoid an overload of haukers (for instance one quarter for Common items, one for specialised items, one for creatures, and maybe one for weapons, with a central location for entertainers and food sellers (food sellers=VE regenerative item sellers). Doing something like this would also allow for things like, say, a creature pen to be put in the creature area, or a forge in the weapon section, where people could go for the most common things, that a begginer would need.
25. Befor I get stuck into this one, anyone know if there is still any reward to be gained?
