  1. Invie has managed to break the record, finding 28 of the 30 items tagged, so wins a wishpoint (has been delivered). As soon as I get another set tagged, you'll have to find at least 29 of them to get a wishpoint.
  2. Thanks Poppi and ungod
  3. Fyrd will be slipping off to another dimension to witness the wedding of his son, Oct 9 through 17. Communications during this time, across dimensions, will be tenuous at best. I wish you all well!
  4. So, Stavaroiu found 27 of the 30 items I had tagged. In order to get a wishpoint, anybody else will have to beat that score. BUT, you do get to keep the items you want. I will be tagging additional items stolen by the imps, but 30 is my limit. QUEST NOTES: If you just want the silver, and not the actual item, don't collect on the ITC - simply send it to me in a PM and I'll pay up and recover the item myself, and that will save us a lot of paper shuffling.... Don't worry about who was first, the little birdies will tell me who got there and in what order....
  5. Yep, I count 27. Let's negotiate a buy-back of what you don't want. The wish point will be on the way, as soon as I finish up on GWI tonight. Very impressive!
  6. With N rounds you must win N matches each with 1/2 probability, so (1/2)^N chance of winning the series. There will be 2^N contestants, only 1 of whom will win. Either way you approach it, your odds of winning (all else being equal) are 1 in 2^N. Yes as N goes to infinity, that's a big number worthy of astonishment, but 2^N is even bigger, and accordingly harder to fathom.
  7. Another way to put it is that your 50% chance of winning is not independent of your opponent's chances. If you fail, the other succeeds.
  8. It's not random coin flipping, it's sorting. After a battle there is 100% chance of a winner. With coin tossing, there is a 25% chance that both lose. With no random fluctuations, you get a totally flat distribution, which is only one of the many possible random outcomes.
  9. So, assuming Else's inventory checks out (which I will do in person), that's a wishpoint. If you combined our two inventories, we'd make 23. Anybody {beside Else} want to try for 24? Worth another wishpoint if you can. {Per the usual wp rules, Else can't win this quest twice.}
  10. Fyrd has 21 of the 26 letters of the alphabet covered. Anybody who can at least match that deserves a wishpoint. 21 inventory items with different starting letters, ignoring punctuation. It is quite legal to "borrow" items under whatever side arrangements you want to make.
  11. Okay, a wishpoint to at least the first to give instructions and photo here for an oragami MD creature and then gets one other player to post a photo of a creature made following those direction. MD in the photo of course, no alts, etc.
  12. There are currently 29 lost items listed in the trunk. Anybody who can find 15 of them (and I will know if you try to palm off a substitute for the original) gets a wishpoint!
  13. Month up - closed. Contact me if you want to try and cut a deal.
  14. Oh no! What was meant to be a prop box for developing actors refining their roles, located at the Cafe by the Maple, north of Wind's Sanctuary, has been broken into. Unfortunately, Imps got in and stole everything – items, resources, spell stones, loose change, the works! They were last seen running north from there, before Fyrd banished them to chaos, but the stuff is scattered everywhere! Fortunately, Fyrd is sending location spells after them, so all you have to do is go to the right spot and call them by name. You can keep any item, or return it to Fyrd for a silver coin. In fact, he’ll buy any RP item for 1 sc to restock. The list of items that are missing and have been tagged is posted on the prop box (password LOOK). Quest notes: Everything is north of the Cafe, in NML and MDA, not in LR. MP3's can find it all. This is an MDScript quest - the item name is the password at each possible hiding spot. The Cafe by the Maple is an item transfer spot - you can collect the item via its ITC there. The more you find, the more Fyrd can put on the "tagged" list.
  15. I'm personally stumped by "The larger it grows the lighter it becomes. What is it?" but that's the only one I'm not getting. Don't spoil it, but has anybody else gotten that one? Yes/No. I thank you Chewett, and future generations will thank you.
  16. How about a circle, with a lens shape in it (like an eye) with a circle in that (like the pupil) with a lens in that, ad infinitum. The series represents harmonics, the eyes represent observation -- and the observed.
  17. a) The clickies will be very hard to find, as clickies go. And new ones will be appearing so you have to repeat searching. b) It's more about teams and negotiation than about the hunting.
  18. Revision: Winners will be assigned random team names for the next round, so that others can't leech off them by joining without permission. Team names should only be shared willingly. Also, of course, one player/alt per real person.
  19. Semi-Competitive/Cooperative Alliance Manipulation Pastime (SCCAMP) Rules This is a game combining clicky searching with team building, negotiation, spying, and poaching from other teams. 1. Physical boundaries will be set. A large number of very small, hard to find clickies will be used in these boundaries, and the number of clickies may be increasing during the game, with new clickies possibly being created over time. A single password for all the clickies will be given when the game begins 2. Each player will initially declare a team name, and hunt for these clickies. Players are encouraged to recruit more members for their team, and to negotiate with the other teams and players to maximize total prizes. 3. “Goals” will be achieved each time a new record team score is made. Team score is the number of players on the team TIMES the number of clickies found by the least successful player on that team. So if 3 team members each found at least 10 clickies, the team score is 30. 4. Each time a new Goal is reached, each member of the winning team gets an individual reward point (provided that there were at least 2 on the team). All players get their “found clickies” record wiped clean, and must revisit them. All players get their team name reset, but those of the winning team have their team name set to their player name, so they can’t be on the same team next round. All other players are free to form up new teams, or join those winners as they see fit. 5. Note that because the teams are constantly changing, it is NOT to your personal advantage to reveal the locations of clickies you have found. A large personal total gives you leverage in negotiations to recruit good teams. 6. When a long period of time has passed without new goals being reached, the referee will signal a countdown then declare the game over. 7. Players with the highest personal reward scores will get wishpoints, up to square root of the number of players in the game. So with 9 players, the top 3 will get wishpoints. If there are more than 1 wishpoint given out, there will be a bonus for the very top player, and for the highest scoring player that did not get a wishpoint.
  20. P.S. This has nothing to do with formal alliances, but it is an opportunity to "do something together".
  21. I have devised a team sport. Rules below. Let me know if there are enough people interested. I'm not going to code all this unless there are.
  22. So, here is an elaboration on how the quest works, following another request for clarification. There are about 30 "characters" to interact with, that will give you lots of backstory etc., but they won't divulge their critical clue/piece of the puzzle unless you have followed the logical sequence that lets you raise the right subject with them. For instance, until you have a REASON to go to GG, nobody there is going to tell you anything important. You start by reading the Red Flyer at Ash Arch (step 1). This opens up a new dialog option on the second character in sequence. You must then find that person (or whatever) and ask about the right/new available topic. And so on through the sequence. If people enjoy this format, this cast of characters can be used over and over with additional episodes of mystery. Plot suggestions from people who have finished the quest are welcome. Good Luck, and enjoy!
  23. Tokens NOT tested so far are: PurpurMoon Jewel Shards Gold Tear Black Tear and Black Diamonds on the right day of the month.
  24. Here is Emerald Glare, with identical opponents opposite, showing proper 75% ratio in regen and defense bonuses between 0% and 25% slider. It does show zero at 100% slider (see above).
