Some suggestions on profile page - Chewie asked for discussion: 1) It has alway bothered me that the word "Weapon" is used given that it is mostly armor (& hypothetical future devices eg. enchanted jewelry). "Equipment" or "Gear" would be better terms both in the swirly compass menu and in the colored legend. And the title over the block on the right "Weapon Sets" - same issue. 2) I see that "burst" gives a bonus that is listed as a "magic" effect. No opinion on that, but it's curiously vague. 3) With so much space between names and numbers, it is hard to track across. Principles has the biggest gap, but shards is hardest to read because the list is long. 4) "Bonus by this house" shows up as "territory" in the legend. It is not otherwise obvious that house = territory. 5) I can only guess what "RPC group" means. 6) There is no MP level info on the page.
  3. When setting slider... "planned" => "plan" "fighers" => "fighters" Technically should have a period at the end before the end-paren.
  4. Besides the typo - "ammount", this doesn't make sense. If you don't have darkness it adjusts +A and -D by that amount (zero)? Why bother? This is NOT affected by slider.
  5. While her alt was a good friend and benefactor as well (I did not know it at the time), it was clearly in her character as Windy that I was most influenced in Magic Duel. She ran Windy’s Pub, an establishment inside Wind’s Sanctuary in Marind Bell. In this place people came to have fun. This was a sanctuary, so no combat, no silent grinding, but instead there was a great deal of verbal sparring. She kept in character as a barkeep, and games and brawls broke out in her establishment. Everyone seemed to come there and get more deeply into their character than anywhere else. She showed me what it was to role-play in the MD realm. Not just in the person of her character, but by developing the place, and ambiance and atmosphere that she created by her force of will. I like to think that I have followed in her footsteps, encouraging role-play at every turn. I dedicated my “Café by the Maple” to her, and to the memory of Windy’s Pub. I want to develop it into a gathering place for role-players and those of a literary bent. But even if that fails and the party moves to the Bug Gardens, or the Oak Fort, or the Gazebo of Equilibrium, or anywhere else, the thread that Windy started shall live on and I will champion the culture she nurtured at Windy’s Pub. I like to think she helped me win the 2012 Pre-eminent Role Player trophy.
  6. MDA East Corridor north end - exit door. Adjusted, now only a tiny shift. MDA West Corridor north end - both doors. Adjusted one but both remain with tiny shifts. MDA Public Bathroom - door. Adjusted - still a tiny shift MDA Personal Quarters - door at top of spiral stairs. Adjusted - still a tiny shift MDA Marind's Bedroom - both doors. Both adjusted, both still have tiny shifts MDA Log Review Room - stairs and right-hand bookcase. The bookcase seems to shift internally - probably does given the internal structure. Of course books really do move around - perhaps consider it a ghostly animation effect? (Ditto for the shelves in the index room of memories.) Not touching either bookshelf. Adjusted stairs and they are almost perfect. MDA East corridor - both doors. Adjusted one but both still have tiny shifts. Awiyya's Way - looking at trees that are split path. Adjusted but still tiny shift. MDA Basement door.
  7. I moved LR back entrance 3_-3x-4_1 to x228 y152 -- better but not perfect. Looks like x=228.3 would be perfect. Kinda like my problem with the arches in MDA Lobby. If I'm online, all I really need is the scene to do this much. {Later: went ahead and tried fractional positions. It saves the data, but in fact rounds to the nearest integer. Oh well.}
  8. Handy Pockets is having trouble with getting on the forum.... here are her suggestions: What about glass made from sand, and a very hot wood fired oven as in the clay making oven. Also Linen fabric from flax. very fine flax can make fancy material. and not so fine flax can make burlap. I think Burlap might be interesting.
  9. I have long been bugged by the shift in the Archives Main Lobby 4_1x2_3. I tried to fix it just now, and it's better but not perfect. I got the step heights to not shift, but the arch heights (both) still do. I'm beginning to wonder if the artwork is pouched. Lots of layering & intricate connectivity going on. p.s. definitely easier to edit coordinates in the clicky list than using a mouse (originally likened to drawing with a bar of soap).

If you think you are ABLE to create such a drawing, contact me and we can negotiate a fee for you to try, and the bonus if I use it. I have a second item that needs an image, and perhaps we can get the GM's to sponsor additional artworks, so it could become a continuing gig.

  12. Bongo had fully developed a set of quest keys as laid out in the A25 documentation of the Bug Gardens, including a plant and status 5 or 6 on all 12 plots (status ranges 0-6). They were all "reset" on level up, so didn't even have the 0 status set anymore, which is set to 0 for each plot prior to the checkpoint. This is "fixed" by the First Aid call from the tool shed, which clears all keys for a given plot but DOES set 0 status. Any NPCtalk coding using keys and checkpoints that did not anticipate a reset with MP level could be similarly flawed. This would be any topic that wants to "initialize" information on the first visit. Also reset are the LR & Willow guardians, the slime at the community gardens, and the cartography obelisks. CODE: giveskill#skill=cartography;points=1;msg= %s increased by %s point. NOT reset are the RP-item giving obelisks. CODE: giverandomrpitem#max=1;expire=10;msg=You found a roleplay item: %s. Nothing more to be found here. The mechanism of wishpoints and pickable items may each be coded like either sort of obelisk, as far as I know in my ignorance, so my musing was a suggestion that this might be worth verifying. If you want, I could have Bongo go back and run the BP puzzle again to verify the wishpoint issue.
  13. I'm not sure this is the fault of a browser. It may have to do with how the original scene was composed or something, like it's not using the same origin in the scene as in the edit screen. (I'm using Chrome on a Mac)
  14. Bongo went from MP3 to MP4 and all the garden keys disappeared, but the npctalk checkpoints did not. As a result, all the plots are empty and need the "first aid" fix, and all that garden work is lost. (Oh well). I imagine lots of other adventures would be similarly affected. NPC monsters reset, yes, but even the cartography obelisks reset too.... quite significant! On the other hand, the RP-item-granting obelisks did not. I would expect if all keys are wiped and you're "reliving the entire story from scratch" the checkpoints would all be reset too. Or maybe the keys should not be blanket reset? Now I'm wondering what the policy is on repeating wishpoint gains from such a quest if you've gone up an MP level.....? Are those sorts of things reset too...?

  16. CONTEST/SOLICITATION I need an image for a special inventory item - my Underwater Bagpipes. Description: "Made from the lovingly preserved bones and skin of a Water Being, they make an amazingly piercing sound. Sounds much better when played underwater." The image should have fish-scale on the bag portion, the tubes should be recognizably bones, and there should be stylizations suggestive of life underwater. I will reward your contributions as follows (you could get all 3): 1. 1 silver for any properly composed image (pixels, alpha, etc.) as long as the contest remains open. Alts are okay, but such images must be distinctly different in composition and style. If you wish to submit improved versions later, that's okay, but won't get a second silver. 2. 5 credit package to the artist if I actually upload and use the image. 3. If there are enough submissions to make this a competitive contest, I will reward those that place in the top 50%, maximum of 5. If 10 submissions top artist gets 5 gold, next 4 gold, and so forth - top prize will be gold equal to the number of artists being awarded in this way. Upload your image files here - I am interested in feedback from all, but I will be the ultimate judge here - I am the patron, you the artist. I will call the contest whenever I choose, with 24 hours notice.
  17. You can get 1 credit for donating an approved Ayv image. How about extending that to inventory items that don't have an image? Approved images could then be loaded as the default.
  18. In the inventory panel on the right, we are given [Favorite] and [Unfavorite] buttons with each item, that don't work. I would expect these would determine what shows in the "Favorites" category, but what is there seems to be fixed (but random).
  19. Got it! Froze the cycle with the browser X, then went into A25 edit screen -- which uncharacteristically opened in a new window with mangled menus, also refreshing cyclically. I closed that tab and went back to the first window, opened a migrate clicky window and jumped to a new site, opened a new edit screen there, this time it had a new window but the menus loaded (I froze it without giving it a chance to cycle resets), and I was able to exit back from there to a STABLE SCENE. I closed the first window, and all seems fine now. So does the problem have something to do with improper handling of the A25 screens? Moved too fast for the system to keep up? Whew! What a relief! p.s. Ledah - you're welcome to try to duplicate this. Too risky for me!

  21. Closed the tab and immediately tried to open another tab. It said I couldn't, that I had another window open, which I didn't actually have. It gave me the option to log out from there, so I did. 15 minutes.....
  22. 4 hours later.... was still doing it when I reconnect to the web. Froze it by hitting the browser's X and was able to get it to log out. Waited 15 min, logged on as Bongo, all was fine. Logged out and back as Fyrd - it's still doing it. Scene keeps refreshing endlessly. It might have originally started in a coordinate jump with A25 tools - not sure though. I definitely tried to fix it by jumping to a new scene (which worked) but that didn't fix it. The loop continued. Caught it again and was able to check things like announcements, but when I went to scene loading, it again looped. Stopped it and turned off the A25 tool panel -- no change.
  23. My scene keeps loading repeatedly in an endless loop. Did I splinch myself, or is it the realm?
