My magic is being diluted.... the strain of battle is great.... it is now necessary to use the incantation "LOOK" to see my image in the hut, or to see the visions in the Fountain of the Lost Path. Also this day, I have resolved to only provide personal magical augmentations (wp's) to those who have bettered the efforts of their predecessors in helping me to fight back and/or appease the spirits. Length is whatever it takes to cover the topic. An obvious fluff job will be rejected. But CONCISE is good. I'd rather see 20 concise articles than one encyclopedic ramble that puts people to sleep. ONE MORE PROVISO ON THE WISHPOINT -- I've not seen any submissions yet. I would look silly giving out a wp if there are only one or two submissions. Since I have 9 topics up already in "People in the News" I'm not going to award a wp unless there are at least 10 new submissions. OK? Go!

The main issue is finding how to set your "alpha" to zero. Can't do it in Paint. Need to find how to do that in whatever program you are using.

Look at "People in the News" section under Legend Speakers. http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/forum/224-people-in-the-news/ I need stories - on the topics listed or others. Ideally they should be informative and engaging articles about people that everybody needs to know more about. You'll see some bad starts I've made, and I won't accept anything objectionable, offensive, etc. Best you interview the subject to get their buy-in for the article. Yes, you may write about yourself. I am looking for non-fiction or even tall stories, but not pure fantasy. Individual stories will be paid as described in the editiorial policy thread. Now here's the CONTEST - whoever submits the LARGEST NUMBER of acceptable articles by the end of July (about 6 weeks from now) gets a wishpoint! In case of a tie, the deadline will be extended in 3-day increments until we have a winner. I will be the sole judge of what is acceptable, but I really do want to flesh this section out. I reserve the right to do copyedit on accepted works. You can PM me or post the submissions under topics that have been solicited. I will delete unacceptable posts - quickly if objectionable, slowly if there is a public outcry or it just doesn't measure up.

Amazing how the pendulum swings. How many recall the days when you couldn't sell an angien egg for 1sc, right after they were no longer worth saccing? Don't stand on the spot and study it - the pendulum will be returning - it's the Law (of Gravity).

So, to interject a different perspective.... I feel the loss of the clickie out on the island. Let's at least get the scene back and put the blocks at the recruitment or power-up steps. What did "partially" mean, anyway?

Okay, but we'll die of old age at this rate - me first probably because of my head start. Anyway, my anonymous bidder has gone up the 8sc -- bid now stands at 10gc, 9sc.

My Peasant signpost alts did not get the free $5 for signing up, but half of them did get the $6 anniversary gift. Same logic applies there, I suppose.

Because I said 72 hours to close the bid, and the last bid was less than a 1% increase in the last 6 hours - only serving to delay the closing - I am now adding the stipulation that I will no longer entertain bid increases of less than 5% of the existing bid. With current bid at 151 silver, the next increase needs to be at least 8 sc to be considered valid.

Sort of trivial questions, but the forum seems empty... Why is "soap" a reserve word in the code section? And for the first time ever, I've found a word that is not allowed in the CONTENT section -- "terror". Why is this one special? Code I would understand, but in the content section?

Also, in a true auction, there should be a reserve or minimum bid set, and there should be some mention of time of closing so a bid doesn't just hang in limbo forever with no action. There are other sorts of offers that can be used, we should not try to restrict it to these two, but the person offering something for sale NEEDS to explain the terms of their offer - whatever they might be.
