  1. I've always liked the teamwork aspect of the cauldron, even if it is a little inconvenient. A good excuse to get together with someone.
  2. I made a new alt to see what the MP3 experience is like at the moment, and while in some ways it has improved since my last attempt... 5 or so years ago, in some ways it has gotten worse. Here are a few points I think could use some improvements: This sign always just makes me feel bad. While encouraging people to read stuff is great, this kinda punishes them without warning and forces people to play the game in a certain way. You can also reach the scene this sign is in before even starting to make the map, which means you'll be forced to look at the shovel for 20 some minutes. Allow people their own form of creativity. 15 minutes is a long time to make someone wait. Especially because the first fight immediately shows the "you lost your first fight" screen if you don't have an aramor (or other offensive creature) without showing the actual fight, so it might take a while for a player to realize what's going on. Another point is viscosity, which can drain a new player's AP pretty quickly, leaving them stranded. There used to be people on GWI that helped new players find their bearings. I'm sure there still are, but during my time there I only saw Chewett's bug testing alt. Which makes the flight escape impossible and makes the 3/5 days until you're able to go to the mainland kinda lonely. You can gather resources and explore the island, but other than that there isn't a whole lot to do unless you know what to look for. While I think it's good to encourage new players to explore the island as much as possible, the wait times feel unnecessarily long. In my opinion we should allow players to make their way to the mainland whenever they feel ready, because we can't make them wait when they don't really have a reason to come back yet. Finally when you come to the mainland you'll have all of MD to explore... And maybe 2 alts to fight against, if people remember to pull them out. The Splintered Apparition isn't really feasible for a fresh MP3 and (at least at this point) the card fights are a lot more complicated than normal fights. I think it would be good if there were a similar opponent to the Splinters that is leveled to MP3 players.
  3. I've personally always enjoyed the teamwork aspect of it. Even for something relatively small like cake or tea it's a nice way to get to know someone. It's also a fun trust exercise, as the person sacrificing the resources is not the same as the person who gets the reward. I've never seen anyone abuse this, but just that fact that you could helps build some trust. For some things it does feel a little silly, and there a normal combiner would probably suffice. There are however a couple items that would work great for teamwork. Most notable toxic extract and poison. The added difficulty would justify a far stronger poison effect, but also leaves a small risk of betrayal.

  6. Solo recipes seem boring to me, what fun is brewing poison if you're not forced to share the moment with a friend.
  7. What browser do you use? I noticed Chrome on android being a little difficult for me sometimes, seemingly disconnecting new when I tab away without telling.
  8. I wonder why my alt ball looks so messy. Maybe because I haven't logged into my other alts since I made my new MP3 training dummy alt? Also I feel a little called out xD
  9. I feel like the game could use a reduction in rounds for one, 8 is probably enough. After that it feels like the battle is kind of already decided, so you're just playing cards for it to be over with. Meanwhile 8 should give you plenty of time to play a chain or 2 if you have a proper setup.
  10. This, uhm... Looks very interesting
  11. Passage has been paid for all those that wish to visit the outpost. Anyone who treats the land with respect is welcome to come visit us and does not need to fear the Death Patrol. - Samon
  12. I have a few wishes. In addition to Syrian's request I would like to be able to set a default defence ritual. One that doesn't disband when destroyed, as a last resort before going random. I would also like the Cartography Obelisks to become invisible once collected. They feel like a big distraction in many scenes. Finally it would be nice to be able to access your friends list from your inbox. It feels logical to be able to access your contacts from there.
  13. If you click unpin in the boxes on the right, they become smaller. You can then open them again by mousing over them.
  14. Berserkers way and Champion's challenge at least work again :D
  15. Seems like a lot of puzzles are broken at the moment. Same goes for Champion's Challenge and Berserker's Way.
  16. That's the one, been hanging out there for a bit, but if it takes a week I'll have to do it another time.
  17. Has anyone tried using the sewers below the archives? They're manually activated, which is a little inconvenient, but they should be able to help.
  18. Small side note that this only works at MP5 and does not work at MP3/4. At MP4 the only renewable way to lower heat is sacrificing heated creatures.
  19. So I've been experimenting with the card system a little bit, trying to build a chain, and noticed the chain cards work a little weird. You seem to need to play salt twice in a row before you can add sulfur, and mercury cards only target your own creatures, even if you have a chain going, so you can never finish your own chains. Not sure if this is intentional, but if so it is very confusing.
  20. I'm proud to announce that some of my creatures are now old enough to vote.
  21. Nope, your first consecutive day is your second day, I can't go past there right now.
  22. Moving down from the Undermined Foundation requires 1 consecutive day, but going there does not, allowing people to get stuck. In general requiring people to get consecutive days to get out of somewhere seems like a bad idea, but this one especially as you don't need them to get here.
  23. I really don't like these kinds of popularity contest kind of things, especially if they're forced upon you without any clear goal. The results so far have been rather predictable. There's maybe 2 dozen people in MD at the moment, most of whom aren't very active in the first place, so it really isn't hard to predict them. There is a major flaw in the questionnaire though, and that is the inability to skip it. By forcing people to vote you amplify the noise in your data. My voting strategy so far has been, for example: I voted in 3 rounds so far: Round 1 and 2: Vote on the bottom names, just because they're closest to the submit button. Round 3: Use a random number generator. (Sorry Chewett, the dice decided. Still love you though).
  24. Document IDs (among other things) are changed every hour, so you'll have to make sure to save often, and when you did pass into the new hour, copy the html into a text file so you can put it back later. It is annoying though.

I think that is because you're already a citizen. If someone who isn't a citizen goes there they should be able to start a vote to join.
