I´m young too, not very active in the way of being someone in the realm, not interested (yet). I see the freedom wich comes with MD and the burden wich comes with this freedom. I think I understand Mur in nearly all his comments, posts and actions even if I don´t know him personally - being someone who tries not to judge too much even if he is "god of MD". For myself MD is a mirror of RL, maybe the brighter shade of reality, the other side of the coin, the picture behind the curtain. Some of the so called "bad" personalities might be the little ones out there, maybe, maybe not and some of the quiet ones are possible real "deep waters" with nothing to hide even if they play this role in MD, because they know what they are, they don´t need a playground to prove something to themselfs any longer. I think I can see this, read this out of word, I have a very deep intuition ... I´d like to change the real world, but guess what I realised it changes itself through time I just have to tune into "her" speed to see the changing. MD is no exception in this case, how could it, the principles are working everywhere. There is no good or bad, not in MD nor in RL, not for me. So I let the bad ones play their roles and the good ones too, knowing that they might need it for themselfs to learn something or the only reason why they exist in this realm is that others learn something from them, both ways are mostly active, as I understand it. I understand your point of view totally Curiose and on the other side I just see a principle as it works always so perfectly that nothing will change it. Everything changes always and nothing will change this. With this in mind I see that your post cannot change something like you would love to see, it´s not working like this - but it will work in another way, slower like a single puzzle one out of thousands. For me there is a feeling wich one could describe as joy while I observe these unchangable principles working all the time - but on the other side I feel totally human with all my feelings and mostly stupid thoughts. I`m still trying to accept those two sides inside of myself. MD is not important - important is what we learn from it, from ourselfs being in it, acting in it, being hurt in it, feeling good in it. Our experiences are the key to the "everything is possible" - MD is just a mirror not more not less. My 2 cents. All the best Menhir

I speak from my own experience. It´s now close to 1 year that MD found me and I have to admit it was a long and hard birth and still I´m not 100% sure if we are really fitting together. I can imagine alot new player feel the same way. There are so many different things you have to learn until you reach the point where you feel something we normaly call "fun", wich I doubt is the aim of Mur´s creation. But most of humanity is depending on this feeling. If you don´t enjoy doing something you will stop doing it, and you will start looking into a different direction. MD is not a game but I thought it was and I believe other people think in the same way. So if you put new player´s into this discussion it´s not about aged creatures any longer ... this comes much later. This whole topic is interesting for aged players, cause we are talking about aged crits. New Player are not interested in compete with the older ones, they have to find out what all this is about and there we have things like "sorry this would be a spoiler" or the "elite" - feeling you get easily as a noob if you meet some of the aged folks. The whole creation get more complex every day wich is on one side very good but on the other side of the coin harder to tune in ... but this turns into an offtopic direction now so I better stop here. There are alot MD player who are not able to play more than a fee hours per day, so why should anything be shifted to the side of "reward activity" more than it actually already is. I would say activity is already the most rewarded aspect in MD. So if you push MD more into the direction -> "who is sitting most of his time in front of his computer get most rewarded" MD would be a "game" like all the others out there. I played several MMORPGS over the last 9 years and without exception the activity was the most rewarded aspect ingame. Well there is nothing wrong with it, but if it´s possible to have a balance in this issue it would be much more efficient and satisfying for all the casual players too. Activity is the most important factor in MD but from my point of view it should no be push any more into this direction. Menhir

It has something to do with MD being a complete piece of art. If I would be able to compose music like this 34 minute long song I would do nothing different – It´s perfect. It´s not absolutely the same with MD for me - BUT MD is very close to what I would create if I could. You need a lot time to experience all the beauty in it (same as in my first speacial song). Same with MD. An here I am again confronted with something so amazing that I cannot stop listening to it. I have the same “problem” with Magic Duel – after nearly 300 days I come back everyday and find myself in the same situation as I left hours ago – amazed! I could continue as I said before, but I will not destroy the possibility of someones interest in exploring it by him/herself`s. Facing nearly no response to my first gathering of songs I started thinking if it makes any sense to post another one, but nearly at the same moment I realised that I don´t really depend on any response – it´s all for those who are into music, even if they don´t want to do the same and share their interests here. What a beautiful idea. I was waiting for something like this, a role in MD I could imagine to be a part of. I´m not really working with herbs like Phantom Orchid but I have a lot in my garden and I do self-made herb-tours in our nearby forests. So far I would not go to far with to many different sorts of herbs the named above are fine and good enough from my point of view. The only thing I would consider is the rarity of them, lets say you have 5 different types (classes) of herbs and in every type you have how many herbs - 2 or 3? In the end that´s a lot - I can imagine a market only for herbs full of names and usages. Maybe too much. But If you have 3 different rarities rare/uncommon/common then you still have the same amount of different names but less chaos in the market or the recipes. He are my thoughts sorted: 1. make 3-5 classes for herbs 2. not more that 3 herbs per class 3. give them a rarity - rare / uncommon / common 4. only 2 tools - one for gathering (you need to cut herbs nothing more) the other one for processing 5. processing - drying could be age/days - no tool needed - cutting - no tool at all I always use my hands - for the poisonous herbs create one rare special tool only a few in the realm - nothing more is need to implement them into the recipes 6. mode of action - as already mentioned this is connected with the type of concentration of every herb you are using, either healing/poisoning/ nourishing/strengthening/weakening 7. end products - I would suggest to keep an eye on the rarity and concentration (like in homeopathy) of the herbs and we will have interesting products who everyone will use and on the other side very rare poisons (I think of assassins huhu) and very strong but rare healing potions 8. I would not create effects coming from herbs wich are permanent Thats it for now. If there are more information needed when it come to names or special effects I am willing to use my knowledge and time to do enough research on the wanted subjects. Menhir

I love music, all kinds of it, so mostly I listen to music even while playing games. I love to write (work) on my book series, since years I do that but not everyday. I like to preapare food for others (cooking or making raw food stuff). I do martial arts since my age 6, so I would say that´s more than a hobby. I do travel alot nearly every year for the last 7 years, but not traveling with alot money ... the other way ;) . I like our garden, creating and forming it. I like to play games but 9 years ago it changed from single player games to MMORPG`s (started with Dark Age Of Camelot). there is much more but I will not list everything I do. I think you thought about that before and came to a conclusion wich keeps you on this “pathway”. So in at least one point you are in the same situation. There is no rest! There is a force inside ourselfs, whatever you call it, in wich way you think of it dosen´t matter at all, it´s there and forces us forward (is it really a movement?). So we are all insane in the eyes of someone who is not at out level. There are many so called "normal" humans out there who, if you compare them, are totally insane for each other. So what is the truth? I still remember a part of an interview made with the indian Advaita – Teacher Ramesh Balsekar (I translate as best as I´m able too): Question: Sometimes you say “It is only a concept, it is not true!” What is the difference between a concept and the Truth? Ramesh Baleskar: “My concept says, whatever anyone said, ever Jesus, Buddha or Ramana Maharshi – is a concept. A concept is something that some peaple will doubt and some will agree with. The Truth from my point of understanding, is something that NONE can deny. Because of this the concepts of one religion are not accepted by another religion. The reason why we have religious wars. Is it possible that there is a ONE TRUTH in the world of appearances? The only undeniable truth for everyone is the impersonal consiousness of being. I am. As far as I understood TTL, it´s not a matter of "having no free time" why he left MD. There is one principle wich works mostly perfect - "Love it or Leave it" wich means (for me) that everyone is free in his/her decision to choose his/her very own way! TTL did it. To put it into other words: to leave my own comfort zone and explore the "New", the "Unknown" or I could say to remember the "Forgotten" knowledge wich is hidden deep inside of us, I often need pain and suffering, the so called "bad" experiences to discover what or who I am too! I am a little bit late (travelled through india for the sixth time when Mur startetd this topic) and people might have forgotten his question already, nevertheless I will write something wich crossed my mind when I was reading some of the given answers. The first thing was: "As above So below". Endless people are talking about a light inside ourselfs but you can believe it or find out by yourselfs. I do not believe things - I have to prove them by myself instead. So I started looking and after awhile I saw the Sun inside myself - I saw much more than this mighty pure light but there were so many more things that I had to stop in this particular moment. So I KNOW there is a Sun inside myself, attending the “rest” of the universe. Then I saw the Sun in someone else, well I was not surprised but amazed . “As above So below” – If there is a Sun wich we can see, there must be one inside ourselfs. If there are shades outside ourselfs, there are shades inside ourselfs for sure. Everything wich exist “outside” is automaticly “inside” and there is a point where one can understand (means KNOW) that there is neither an outside nor an inside. Everything is existing and at the same time there is nothing. <- these are just words but it´s possible to have the experience to see/feel/understand, finnaly KNOW that it´s like I try to put into weak words. Why it´s called "Soldiers of the Inner Sun" (if Mur´s questions was referring to the title) I don´t know yet clearly. A soldier from my point of view stands for "fighting" and "war" and there was nothing like "fighting" or "war" combined with my inner sun, but there might be another interpretation of the word "soldier". So the second thing was crawling towards me hiding behind a curtain of mist: If you see something like the Sun and in this case you don´t need to make a difference between inner or outer Sun, if you see it with you own eyes/mind/awareness you are so sure about what you see/experience because that is what you think you are - consciousness/awareness. Are you? Were do you know it from? From the same consciousness? Well ... there is much more beyond this and again I touch it only with words and nothing will help me to explain it with agglutinated letters, but to realise this through real knowing is the most suffusing experience I had so far. So why the Sun? Why <- the most powerful word in the whole universe brings us to neverending questions (I quote Mur here)! If we are trying to explain things with seperated minds you end up with open ends. To answer every question until the end we need to put all ourselfs into it and I mean it word by word. We need our material way of forced living, I use the terms “needs and fears” for this. We need also our so called “spiritual” way of being, that could be everything outside ourself wich we are not really aware of in our daily lifetime, call it soul or whatever you may like to call it. And finally we need our philosophically thinking (understanding) - lets use the words “manly logic”. Each of those three separated from each other will not get anyone to any real conclusion but if one can succeed to put all three together, combine them to a “big one pot”, to a universal understanding and make it useful and possible to evolve to that kind of “new knowledge” (in the end everything is old and at the same time ageless) – if one can do that he/she/it will really KNOW. Well what´s this blubbering all about and why do I write it here and now – I´m nearly always honest – I don´t know! It crossed “my” mind and I put it into those clumsy words above. Why the Sun? Why is Mur asking this question? This is my most sensible question I can ask back and I got many answers for it at the same time . Menhir
