Hello all, I'm doing something I should have done a long time ago and placing an important restriction on my internet use...In the medium term (probably at least 6 months) I will probably be online much less often than usual, and probably not every day. It is up to MD whether this is enough for me to fill my role as tool guardian at passage of war...due to the nature of the items there I think my minimal presence will probably be enough to fill my role (the only thing that seems to offer a real incentive for sabotage are the Needles, so if you want to use those please send me a forum PM) but please prove me wrong. If you want, I can give someone else the tool. Best wishes klatdees

Honestly it does get kinda boring in MD sometimes, ya gotta do SOMETHING...I've considered doing some testing with one of the other guardians but the mechanics are too straightforward (though it did take a few tests to understand them)...nowadays I keep track of pretty much every single person who takes something from the passage of war in my k doc (notebook still messed up probably) just because I can xD that and I post here xD So don't make it out as some huge unacceptable vice to be bored (and as I've said, land loyalty could well be called "land ennui"...it makes you more uncomfortable in a scene, more likely to escape...ergo MD "rewards" boredom, or at least expects us to utilize it to break out of our shells). that said, it's not like boredom justifies abuse

To dark raptor: that seems like clear abuse (from the announcement, don't have multiple of one tool) and gets into the "who watches the watchers" question... I think technically I can grab ban Ungod or nad and they won't be able to take MB buckets (though the ones they have won't be returned) but that might be overstepping my role. I should know this, but...Who is the king of MB? They would decide if the depletion in MB is an issue and if so when...maybe they could even be "unfair" (Lintara has explicitly told me that water depletion in her land isn't an issue, though.)

Rereading mallos's cited announcement (and see also the tool guardian tag description) I think depletion is quite clearly "sabotaging the use of the tools" for the straightforward reason: if there are few/no resources, what is the point of grabbing the tool? Besides which, if we know the Monarchs can specify tool use limitations, and they have specified depletion limits, how else could you categorize those limits except as limits on tool use?

I've been told that with depletion, water's a special case since the rain can refill it...but that was by a monarch (lintara), not by the tool guardian (nad <3)

If you want to change the nature of death, I'm still for uprooting the GoE and knocking down what's beneath...(Hurry, before the gates close!) I disagree, at least the upper part of the tree is super duper excited in the earlier stages xD Why are there two parts, with two faces, to a creature representing a single spirit? Same question with the tormented soul. Or maybe the oddity is when there's just one (barren)..? Going with the idea that a soul splits in two bodies to exist ("soulmate hypothesis") it's really a tragedy that the barren never becomes two...certainly the remains is more "bodily" and so maybe that means it makes sense that it's a twoface, but if so what can we say about the Tormenteds?

Isolating things: Only if you accept the consequences of using the darkness principle Not all do, but the ones who don't, must want to live in another world I find it interesting that so many creatures rely on the dead, like they were there before, we just happened to ask them to bond to us. Unlike the barren, there's a certain enthusiasm in the tree...All creatures are committed to your cause, but they don't all commit using emotion. I've only seen enthusiasm or playfulness in the pimped Grasans, the young trees, and the Drachorn hatchlings, but it's a valuable thing and indicates some sort of awareness of fulfillment.

Bump. Checked my "ideas" tab today and 80-90% of my poetry is gone, just like that. Tried adding something new, and when I saved only five lines of it remained. Saved again and it was all gone.

Every time I put something in the "other" or "reward codes" section of the notebook then hit save, it disappears I am nervous to try on one of the non-empty tabs since I use those for stuff xD

I think a common answer would be "I have never tried, here let me try and see what the results will be"...? You just drastically altered the whole resource system, the old demand (pure competition) is lost, and the new demand (practical use, rewarded competition) enters existence...of course people will test it themselves. Rainwater per week: about 3, when I bother....guess this one at least shouldn't depend on demand (Based on a discussion with Assira last night)
