okay, disregarding everything mentioned before, I'd actually like to get this up and going, as far as I know, about 7 of those in the group (dunno if I updated this) are still here (after 1-2 months!) some even have their first wp!
it might not be the group, it might not be our efforts (me and the group members, ALL OF US), it might just be luck... but if we can help new MP3s, well, we should help them =)... but we need a new thread, this is 'polluted'...

Books store memories of the past, the brain stores memories, both true and imaginary, both sources are reliable, nearly never fading... however, a new 'memory-holder' has appeared, and it in the form of ... a stone???

Memory stones are now spread throught magic duel, and are being regarded as a recource. The can only be gathered in the precense of a Memory stone detector, that Mur has granted to two people (so far), they are : Aranna, and Lone Wolf. These memory stones do not hold regular memories, but rather, they hold memories of spells, accordint to Mur, the operation is described as such : "They work in the following way: If you have a memory stone, and a spell, you can use all the casts of that spell at once to "memorize" that spell into the stone, enchanting it. The memory stone will then transform into an enchanted stone, named after the stored spell. This is a usable, tradeable item. When someone uses it, it will grant that person a limited number of casts from the stored spell, till the casts get consumed or for a period of 6 month. When casts run out or 6 month pass, the spell will vanish from that persons spells. Memory stones are a resource type of item."

so basically, memory stones hold spells, but since they are stones with no actual brains, they will forget this spell (in 6 months, so use it quickly) and since this stone is 'sharing' with you memories of another, there is no way you can 'keep' that memory with you, and thus, once you've used up all the memory there is on that stone (all the spells) the stone stops being enchanted, and you can not do that spell anymore, so you throw it out =)
Also, the memory stone value you find depends on what memory the caster has chosen to put, and how much of the memory he/she will put, so depending on what spell they decide to 'enfuse' and how much casts they decide to enfuse it with, the stones would be of different value.

Now, and as we speak, memory stones are being integrated into the MD market, the two lucky barrers of the detectors are making a fortune off selling these stones, and there might be a guild for them soon to follow (eventhough whether or not that is a good idea is being highly debated).

This is one of the many new 'resources' that have appeared in MD, along with the fresh water resource, and mineral water resources, and also the 'memory stone guild' will be one of the many that will soon rise (Water Dowsers guild, and Fusioneers guild will be following shortly) this might be a lot to take in, but it shows that MD is advancing and improving, and thus, I wish it the best in these new ideas, and hope they succeed.

*gulp* well... I do like mushrooms, but I like to eat them =S not worship them...

68) The RPCs didn't quit, and it didn't stop cz it was ruining MD, Mur banned them so that they wouldn't get more attention than him...

Synex, I know the UN is unfair (I participated in MUN (model united nations) and was in the security council, so my trainers told me everything about how unfair it is and use it for myself) but what they do have is some type of balance, take it this way, if, in the security council, a small country which had 0.002% of the world's population, but was contributing to 5% of it's pollution (+ other factors...), they would all agree that this is too much.
it's almost the same here, you won't have that 'arguing' you want have all of the negatives in the UN...
also, I never wanted MD to turn into UN, I wanted it to just DO SOMETHING, and I used the UN to show what I mean, and as for the 'treated accordingly', well that's the hard part, what can we actually do? I can attack lock and mirror ritual him/her, someone might movelock him, other will silence him, heck, if we're lucky (and they are MP5) we might get the chance to trap him/her with Eon...
since it will be community effort, it can not and will not be something like 'go to Mur' or 'report him/her' it's whatever we can do to teach them a lesson...


as for LWP, fight cause can not be used for a lower level, and there might not be enough ppl online at the same place and time to actually have an effect...
and as for the flaw you mentioned, well you should remember that to harvest, you'll need items, which also depend on time zones, so if ppl act well, ppl from all time zones will get a chance to harvest, week-in, week-out maybe, but still.
and if you're still not convinced, then tell me this : would you rather a person harvest 28 in 4 days, then go around selling, I dunno, 5 for 1 silver, than you get in these 4 days, only 1?
resources can be sold, and if a lot of quantity is present, the price will drop, simple economics.

Basically, you can allow an alt to make an item for the main once...

The Golden Globe Gazebo, usually referred to as the GGG, was one of the many legendary fighting locations in all of Magic Duel. Basically it was usually referred to as a place where any person could get "infinite wins". It is one of the 4 Gazeboes of the MD Archives Gardens.

The Golden Globe Gazebo had some rules for those who chose to fight in it, back in the day, they could be seen by clicking the support the Giant Golden Globe sat on, and they were, mainly :
1. All defensive rituals should be of ONE character that has a non-offensive ability
2. All Offensive rituals were those that could not harm the defensive rituals, so they could be, for example, an elemental on weaken defense, or three grassans, since their chaotic strikes can't harm a single creature.
3. If a ritual was 'accidentally' broken, that should be announced in the chat, so that others don't just lose vitality.
4. If these rules were broken, some of the older vets who had established that place would kick you out of the GGG and you would never be able to train in it again.

so basically, the defense was put so that when a non-offensive ritual was used against it, the players could get heat-free wins, and grind stats

The GGG was mainly a place for those low on vitality, but needing wins (or losses) to upgrade creatures (or for balance issues), so when a person gets a burst, it is usually announced, and players would attack that 'person-with-a-burst' with steal life rituals, and they would gain vitality for themselves...

Many had opposed the GGG, saying that this 'place' even though protecting the 'weaklings' from the power of the vets, was not helping them actually learn about combat rituals, since they were not learning what to put with what to give extreme damage, since they were never doing any damage at all! Also, there were also complaints about people becoming TOO strong (stat-wise) by using a community-run-project for their own benefit, so even those who were NOT weaklings went there just to grind stats, which is not what the GGG was for. A lot of people objected and finally, the decision was to close it down... Apart from the actual Golden Globe, little but memories remain of the once overcrowded GGG, the rules, along with the offenders list (those who have broken GGG rules intentionally) are now also gone, however, at the base of the Golden Globe (below the stand it is on) by 'speaking the word' look, you will find a Ballad by Fyrd Argentus, about the rise and fall of the GGG...

This might be a bit ranty but...

I hate this attitude. On a personal level I find that I am active in MD when MD is mainly dead. Now, that is my tough luck and that is just the way it is, nobody is to blame for that.
Like a lot of people I have a full-time job that involves travelling to work and back. Some people in MD work from home, don't work or are students of some kind. If you work in an office for 8 hrs a day you probably spend another 1 hr (up to 2hrs total) either side of that travelling. Then when you get home there is the issue of food. Food does not magically appear in-front of me when I am at home. I have to purchase said food and then cook it. Both activities take time. So lets call that an hour a day for cooking and eating of said food. That's about 11hrs of the day gone.
Given that I work and have to get up in the morning to be in at a particular time and then do said work, that means I cannot stay up all night long on MD. Sad to say it is a given that I must strive to allocate 8hrs for sleeping (even if I don't actually sleep for the 8hrs or at all).
So that puts me up to 19 hours of my day gone.
So, yeah, that gives me 5 full hours out of 24hrs to play MD! Err.. no. I have this thing that I like to call a life. A life involves many strange and wonderful things like, talking to friends and family, reading, watching TV and other interests, dealing with some kind of unforseen drama or crisis, or doing further education (which I am doing). Then there are holidays. Yes, if I happen to book my hols months in advance and don't turn up to a set time and location in MD that is maybe even only announced while I am away on hols then I obviously don't care. Shame on you Firs for daring to go on a holiday.
I was away this year for the festival around Easter. Because I was away that meant that I could not receive any medals etc.
I would say that you could be online for hours on end in MD almost 365 days of the year, but if you happen to be unavailable at just a particular time and place in MD you get nada, or even worse, you are seen to be not bothered?
I am pretty sure that there are many people in MD that can say the same for themselves and feel as I do.

Well i know this year i will miss out on things coming up to xmas
as i am going to be away from December 17th and wont be back till the new year
I most likely wont have internet access for that time. so all xmas stuff i will miss out on.

but i dont see why a vet or even a player that has done well should miss out on something because they could not make an
event on the one day they may not gain access or loose internet connection or are ill and get get to the system.

Personally I don't like the fact you need to be online to know the time and location. Maybe location can be kept secret in order for things like items etc... but telling the time would help people a great deal in scheduling their RL stuff.

I'm usually not available after about 1800Hrs up until about 0600Hrs server time since I need to sleep and I don't have access to a PC at the place I'm currently based. Other times I can manage with some adjustment so since this is happening at the latter end of day 292 I think I might miss the event as well.

This does not mean I do not care. I care about things in MD as much as all of its players do but there are things in RL which one cannot avoid.

But I really love the fact this is spoken in an event as Pip pointed out.

Personally, I most likely won't be at the 'meeting', because the second half of the day (12:00-0:00) in server time is the time I happen to take to sleep and go to school (3:00-15:00), and I'm not going to stay up all night and take the day off just so I can be there for the one day where we get to do forum in-game. Not to mention, of course, people like Awiiya and Zleip who have roles dependent on the locations they are in.

But then, from what I can tell, this will be Mur letting off a bunch of steam by taking it out on us, which I honestly don't have a problem with; if he needs to send 20 people to jail to feel better and get people off of his back, so that he can continue work on items or whatever, then it's going to happen whether there's a gathering to talk about it or not. So sure, this could be handled better, but we should probably be glad it's being handled at all. He could just take the fast track and punish people on his gut feeling, and what would we be able to do about it?

All in all, yes, I'm a bit bothered by the word choice in the announcement and it was perhaps wrong of Mur to say that, but it doesn't particularly matter; at the end of the day, YOU know if you care or not, and there are more ways to prove it than attending a witch hunt.

Edit: Worth keeping in mind is that I'll probably by shouting about unfairness afterwards, regardless of what I'm saying now, so yeah.

I'm not overly fond of the poll choices you provided... I picked No, I don't like the fact you need to be online, whereas what I actually mean is that I like you have to be online to attend, I don't like that you have to already be online to know when you need to be online to attend.

I am a very busy person, as are a lot of other people who play MD. I don't really like having to take a whole day out of my scheduled just for a one hour event.

It kind of pisses me off, not to mention my wifes opinion of it.

Over the past few years, Events organised by mur have tended to have moved towards a format where the location is not announced until hours or minutes before the event.

This is all perfectly fine for events where you need to be online and talking, but this has also applied to vet of the year medal celebrations among other important events whereby you only get your "reward" if you can log on at a specific time and get to a specific location before mur leaves.

With MD spread across every timezone, there will always be times when an event location is announced, organized and held all before someone wakes up, and they miss it.

In my personal opinion keeping a location secret until the last moment, then revealing it and expecting people to be there, even just logging in to go to said location and idle, is pretty mean when they lose the chance of getting some reward they worked for.

Add to it the comments that have been made before about these events, and to quote the most recent announcement "Either be there in person or it means you don't care that much." Which quite frankly I'm sick of such an attitude.

When i have raised such a point directly to mur he seemed not to understand the fact that not everyone can play MD 24/7 or even have access to a computer to just login and move somewhere. There are times when people work and therefore cannot access it. Its not that they dont care about X or Y, but that they cant log in. Holding such events announcing location an hour before the event just means you selectively pick certain timezones to participate, Nothing at all to do with if people care. If you really wanted to see who cared about something it would be announced days before, to see who would take the "hit" of idleing in the location (attaining losses for most) waiting for the event. Wheras now you count how many people were on MD to see the announcement...

I doubt mur will change his mind in regards to this style of events, Given that his attuide at the moment seems to favor whatever timezone he picks, But i wondered what the community felt in regards to these type of events.

I ONLY opened it up cz it sounded funny in my head as you can plainly see, yes I am truly 'head over heels' for Eva, heck you can ask anyone that! they all know her cz of me...
