  1. What about female mythological beings? Like say, female satyrs, griffins, centuars, dyrads, sirens, hags, Skylla, ect. I think they'd fit in well with magicduel's theme and they'd appeal to males, too (or at least to me). Well, I suppose we could do the fairies and flowers, but it'd probably be better if they had a whimsical or dark flair. Magicduel isn't really cute.
  2. This one should be easy, because we all know and like them. We dwell in the dark and dank We are borne in neither womb nor fruit We are neither animal nor plant Yet we have gills and spring from the earth Sometimes we kill and are avoided by beasts But sometimes man treasures and trades us as gold. Quienes somos?
  3. Well, it'd be useful, but it'd be work. For myself, I usually name the ritual its nature, i.e.: multiple/tree+daimon, chigrasan, grasan, CA, treetest, treedef, heal ele, singleatk. Mostly I use the name of creatures, what purpose it will serve or the targeting of most creatures in it. Although it doesn't include all the information what you suggested would, it helps me differentiate and I can usually remember the specifics if I've been using them lately.
  4. @Pi, lol.. I guess (: Though usually when a new mecha series comes out I'm more interested and am more likely to check it out rather than another release. Ehe. Those "REAL drills" could be considered roughly cone-shaped, but we can forget about that.. for now. Anyway, drills can be used to create like in woodwork, although I was talking about the unique design which is able to serve the function of destruction. And I'm pretty sure Lulu just posted about Summon Night, since she asked me the name of it >_>; But playing with drills as my choice of weapon was pretty sweet. I would use a drill weapon in an MMORPG, assuming it wouldn't be made a lot weaker than other weapons for some reason. They'd probably be pretty hard to control if it's a game where you can do combos or something, but fast and relatively powerful. What were you getting at? I'm not sure what you mean about imbalance, unless you're thinking about all the people who would pick drills over something archaic in comparison like blades, blunt weapons and firearms.
  5. Ahh, I want to reply. *wrings hands* Mecha is common, but that's because it's awesome. Ignore the cliche and thoughts of unsavory series which undermine the genre. And drills! :/.. Can't you sense the power and beauty expressed in the curves of the metal shape and speed of its rotations, the creativity in the destruction it can make? I can't really convey it, but you should understand innately. One day you should get yourself a drill and feel it thrum in your hands.. maybe then. Alright, since I feel so guilty about writing that when the topic is entirely something else, I think it would be pretty interesting to have diametric principles: entropy, syntropy, darkness, light.. dunno what for the lonely fifth X) Maybe balance?
  6. But the drill symbolizes that and more! Okay, let's not get too off-track here.
  7. And here I was thinking you were someone who didn't watch anime. Mecha + drill = ultimate appeal to the heart of any man who had a proper boyhood. I chose Darkness, Imagination, Time and Transposition because they were linked to each other in the descriptions n_n; I think a lot of others did, too. I think Entropy would be really powerful, though, just because of what it represents. *wants entropy*
  8. Nonetheless, I see their very nature can carry out my intentions, although they aren't recognized consciously. What are you saying?! That aphid is so cute.. don't change it; it reflects you very well. In fact, I might start searching for a picture of a dung beetle. Of course I would get permission before using it!
  9. Southpark. Never really watched it, doubt I will. Classmates talk about it a lot. Hehe.. are all those 'glaistigs' staring at and unnerving you? Mabe it would be fitting if it blinded you
  10. I like my avatar. I drew it with my love.
  11. Yes, you can. We should really add this one to the FAQ, because it provokes so many bewildered responses. Various choices in the story will give you negative bonuses, which can be multiplied by the meditation period. It's not really meant as a punishment or to deter taking a specific route, as most routes will at one point or the other give negative stats. Generally, at the end of any one route, you will have gained more than you've lost.
  12. Where does it say you're supposed to choose three principles? o_o You don't have only 1 mindpower.. you have 3 in mp3, 4 in mp4, ect. The only thing that's different is that you've chosen only one principle and use up one mindpower, so it shows up as 1/n mindpower in the bar. I suppose the mindpower bar is supposed to show you how many different principles you can pick, and how many you already have. I think it's your choice to decide whether or not you want to focus on one or a number of principles less than what you can, to the point of not ever learning any other principles. I don't know if it'd be beneficial in the game later on when magic is implemented.. personally, I think variety is good, but who knows? Also.. there is a cap for principles Many can no longer build a principle they picked anymore because they already reached the max value through sacrificing.
  13. I'm not sure why it'd be called a loophole I mean, normally even when you pick 3, you can pick the same one afterwards continuously.. right? Just that you have to pick out of the three. I thought I already said what would happen if you never picked a third principle in my previous post, too.
  14. lol.. this person can't get into Willow's Shop, remember?
  15. lol.. I was killed once in story. The only thing that happens is that the story ends. In the route I was killed in, it was like any other route except that it ended pretty quickly, relative to the beginning of the story. I even got a pretty big principle bonus that time, although if you consider how long the story could've gone on if I hadn't taken that route, it was just consolation. If you're really saddened by the loss of whatever bonuses you could've gained if you didn't that that route, you can reset your account if you want. I didn't, because I felt like I had done too much work with this account and I would know to avoid it the next time. I'm sure there will be others, if there aren't a lot already, that also get killed and decide not to reset.
  16. That's pretty interesting, as I remember differently in terms of being able to pick the same principle for the first three times. But I do remember that some principles gave larger values than the other. What you're talking about could be a bug, but it could also not be; the bonus for different principles vary each turn in the story. I'm not sure what it depends on, but it's probably related to what choices you make in the story in part. I guess what I want to ask is, do the bonuses continue to increase in value if you pick the same ones, or do they fluctuate? I'm pretty sure that if you didn't pick the third principle, you would be able to pick two principles at the mp4. Same thing with only picking one: the player would be able to pick from different principles at any point in the story and in any mindpower level until the mindpower bar shows n/n, in which case the player has picked as many different principles as his mindpower capability. I'm basing this on the response of Manu and some other people when my brother's account got moved to the next mindpower due to some requirement changing; in the end, he missed the chance to go through the story in mp4. Manu and chewett said he would be able to pick two principles in mp5, and tyran confirmed it (apparently he was moved down a mp level in the middle of storymode or something). Probably the only thing that would make this some sort of loophole or bug is if the principle reward when picking the same two each time is abnormally high. Otherwise, it's just like playing as any other player, with the exception that you decide to focus on two instead of three princples for a period of time.
  17. I have to confess now that Pi's written that ._. Back when I was in mp3, Loreroot was open and didn't have those guards. I waltzed in and got all the creatures there the first time I came out into free roam. So when the guards were implemented while I was in mp4, I didn't think about strategy at all. In fact, I never saw the need to go into Loreroot, and I waited quite a while to defeat them; by the time I got myself up to Maple Road, all of my creatures, including those I got from Loreroot, were maxed. I beat the guards with brute force and thought nothing more of it. Back then, I never used strategy of any kind to defeat a ritual Most of the people who got the Loreroot creatures before the guards were implemented moved on up to the next mp level and I was left with pitiables who hadn't even maxed their Wind Crossing creatures. No wonder I had around 200 more wins than losses by the time I went to mp5, even with my puny stats.. I could see myself having a worse time than Pi with the guards in mp3. Imagine myself when some newbies start asking me questions about the Loreroot guards. Even now, I like to shy away from them because I don't want to say anything wrong and be the cause of lost vitality and time. I think that's been the case a few times.. n_n; But I did overhear how others beat the guards a few times, so I've been in fair luck. I've also secondhandly experimented with different strategies against them (through the same newbies who failed with my advice) so I like to think the next newbie who asks me will have a better time. -end long, reminiscing rant- That probably had very little relevance I just wanted to talk about it. I think there is a fair share of others like Pi who wouldn't even have the creatures (or like me who wouldn't have the brainpower) to apply the hints the game gives to their own rituals by the end of mp3. But at the same time, mp3 is a time of trials, mistakes and learning, so it's fine if only a few can get into Loreroot during that stage.. it'd be a reward for those who do especially well, or are just lucky.
  18. I think Morgana means allowing gettings wins only to the count of 100, which is the cap for those who don't reach the exp cap before the won fights one. That way, people would advance with an equal value for both exp and won fights for their creatures. And yes, people are always asking questions about how to advance to mp4. The story page shows it once it is finished, but perhaps newbies should be able to know beforehand without having to ask others.
  19. There is a count of exp in the MD Shop; I thought it measures all the exp won from fights before. However, I am a bit confused, because I think in another topic I might've read something that it was the creature exp and something combined.. which would make a loophole, as sacrificing creatures would lower that amount. The one you see when you click your name is (I think) your creature exp.
  20. Is it just me or everyone else, too? The Live Help button is missing.. EDIT: nvm, Wodin says that it's because there was no live help mods on at the time.
  21. A lot of mp3s have been complaining lately, if it means anything. I don't recall such frequency in the past.
  22. It's fine for me.. although personally as a newbie I would not understand, that'd be because I'm not exactly the most discerning mind. I thought that it was a good hint and could help others. How would you change it? Assuming that you don't want to get rid of a hint concerning Loreroot altogether.
  23. O_O I'm pretty sure that's falsely. n_n;
  24. Bit confused on this one. In my memory, you have to choose three.. once you pick one, that one disappears from the panel of choices, so you must pick a different one. This continues until you pick three, and from then on you can only pick one of the first three principles you chose in the beginning to boost. Maybe I'm wrong, or your case is unique. So just to clarify, you picked two principles only and you were able to continue increasing them before you picked a third? And this was in the very beginning of the story, right? If it was over a time span and several decisions in the story, it actually wouldn't be a loophole (or maybe it's normal) with a great advantage, because people normally increase the same principles (out of three).. the only difference would be that you only continuously picked only two to increase.

Heh, I don't want anyone to take this literally.. he means 100 wins.
