  1. That's quite a nice way to change newest newb to make it fairer and more open, previously it was pretty biased towards people who have been around the whole year and this means more people have a chance and not just the first year. I like it!
  2. Added the code tags, pmed you some suggestions.
  3. Thank you Grido :) Im not convinced even three are needed. The system literally lists out who has voted where, I could probably spend 5 minutes to make it autocount if that helps? Its just one query. I always open discussions on points :P, makes it more interesting. You need someone to start fighting a rule generally before others will question it. Its just we are innately set out to obey them (generally). I think you need a combination of categories and the actual numbers. Some categories are quite specific but quite important. Hence why asking for the categories above.
  4. Last year we had a week of very little comments with the rules then suddenly a load of discussion on categories and how the rules apply to them. It would probably make more sense to run them at the same time to not allow confusion and complaints later.
  5. This was originally hidden as it was potentially abusive however after looking at the code the understanding is incorrect and the tool is working fine. Please remember if you think your bug is abusive to not report it publicly :) Thank you no one for reporting this potential bug.
  6. Should all be rewritten now :)
  7. >>- The previous categories will be listed in a thread, and players can then argue for different ones to be added/removed - if players agree, then it will be so. Where? I seem to have missed them. >>- Certain categories have relevant restrictions on them, these can be changed/created/removed, but only prior to nominations opening. I assume this is in the other thread? >>- There will be 3 people counting votes and organising this. These people will not be able to be nominated, however they are able to vote. Three? >>- There will be a minimum of 3 players nominated for each category, no maximum. Why 3 minimum? Surely it should be decided on a case by case basis. E.g. if someone is really deserving then they should get it, or if its not that great of a category, remove it.
  8. MD has forgotten where it lives on the internet, The crons run fine but cant connect to MD to run some stuff. Im rewriting them to run them differently now :)
  9. Final scores and coins given: Score | Coin Gained | Actual coin Jubaris 111 82.8358209 83<br /> Aeoshattr 69 51.49253731 51<br /> Clock master 9 6.71641791 7<br /> dst 4 2.985074627 3<br /> Miq 2 1.492537313 1<br /> Chewett 2 1.492537313 1<br /> Neno Veliki 1 0.746268657 1<br /> Ignnus 1 0.746268657 1<br /> Aethon 1 0.746268657 1<br /> MaGoHi 1 0.746268657 1<br /><br /> Come to me to collect your coins! Congratulations to all participating. Jubba wins the highest points and therefore gets to choose between his silver share and a custom medium value reward, or something akin to a wishpoint, morph or similar by forgoing the silver. We will be running a second contest led by two leaders and will feature slightly different rules in a month or so. A major part of the scoring will be detailing how you gained high scores, how you we can reduce that and abusing these methods. The idea is to try and improve how the contest is run, and then run it with actual lands.
  10. We are back online. Only a small amount of daily progress is likely to have been lost.
  11. Upload still ongoing. Going well :)
  12. Im restoring the lost data. We shouldnt have lost any data :)
  13. Progress so far: Im restoring MD onto my machine and running some checks. So far its all looking good. I have a backup a couple hours ago and from what I can see the problem was a dodgey backup causing some issues to one of our tables. --- The backup has just been restored while I was typing this. Im going to do some investigation.
  14. Thanks all. Im working on trying to determine whats going on. I think we had a major database issue so im lookin at restoring some data but its slow going due to my slow upload speeds. We shouldnt lose too much data here.
  15. Im looking into this. If anyone who is having issues can post their playername, and account ID please.

  17. Current Progress: Jubaris, 69 Aeoshattr, 40 Clock Master, 8 dst, 4 Neno Veliki, 1 ignnus, 1 --- Plus all those scores posted above. Looks like Jubba is in the lead... for now.
  18. Chewett replied to MRAlyon's topic in Resolved Bugs
Yeah I noticed that too... Bah. I fixed _some_ of the errors, Need to work out precisely where this one is being thrown from :)
  19. There will also be a reward for the the highest single score, currently the winner is Jubba with 12 points :)
  20. Current scores: 1338, Chewett 33, Jubaris 27, Aeoshattr 4, dst 2, Clock Master 1, Neno Veliki
  21. dst wont be getting 150 silver! Also you lie! You dont have time (And more importantly have lost your touch for bug abusing :P)
  22. I only reran one missing cron hopeing that restarted them. I have now rebooted the server :)
  23. No you guys couldnt trigger it with your browser. it should be on acron if its not running by cron. Looking into it now :)
  24. Thanks all for telling me including miq and dst. I'm away at a careers fair telling people to join my company and will be back really late but will try and get to fix it around 22:00. If anyone has any idea why crons may start to stop feel free to guess :) I will add some more logging in this weekend so we can try and see what's up
