1. Newbie point of view: I agree with dst, as being new to coding in general it has been hard to piece things together to get a quest to run without errors, even after learning the basics of php. I feel like doing a victory dance each time I get something to work. One of the most difficult things to piece together is the md storage system. By using someone else s code I am some what able to store and look at some information. But still have trouble understanding how to tweak it without errors. Beyond the php script I learned the basics, I have no background in coding, computer science, or anything like that. So there are times I do not understand how to phrase a question to get help or I do not understand the answer given. And knowing the basics of something does not mean I know how to use php script in different situations much less translate it into mdscrpt. Mdscript code section on the forums is incomplete and is not newbie friendly. It is assumed that there is some level of knowledge. For some of the code that is posted... My eyes glaze over as I try to understand what it does and some of it is in php script. For those that are in php script there are parts that I am not sure how to translate into mdscript. I am doing a bit better than I was in the beginning. But there are still a lot that I do not know or have no clue where to start the coding for a particular quest because it is not covered in the forums... or piece of it is but combining the pieces to get it to work is a long process.
2. I would like to meet people from MD :D But I live so far away from most people in MD.
3. I am not sure if I see the point in that limitation. If anything it is making it to where those with out the technology are at a disadvantage (edit) if they wish to add their own personal touches. And how are you to tell if it is done with an app? I have an ipad app that makes very realistic art work. I could understand if you were to limit it to where you can't copy and past md art to make a scene, but to have it where people can not draw their art and add it to a scene, does not make sense. If you are wanting it to be in MD style and that is why you can copy and past the scenes and avatars... then I can understand that. But paint would not be md style. MD style is based off of the artwork that people draw on paper and then adjust the brightness/contrast in a program.Though md style does have a certain look and feel to it. This is your quest/contest and your rules, you just may get fewer participants based on rules that others may not agree with or not understand why it is there to begin with. edit: Seeing as how you are willing to allow outside work to be posted in such scenes... it does not seem like md style is the objective...
4. Still looking to buy or trade for a mildrain spell stone
5. Will the presentations of art, poems, and other performances... happen before or after you let people enter night mode? At least that is what I think you meant by, "...then I will give a slightly "free" reign for praise to the Sky, Night and various celestial bodies."
6. I am looking to purchase weather stones. I mainly want mild rain at this moment, but that is most likely to change in the future. This will be a steady buy, so if I get a few stones in the near future this topic will still be open for those interested in selling me the stones.
7. I will put on a dance performance, if it is alright with you. But i will not post it here. I do not care if I get a reward and so on. Since i would not be following your rules. For me to post it here before a dance performance, goes against the point of a performance.Plus in my performances i have all the movements planned out but still tweak it during a performance. There have even been an occassion that i scrap a dance abd decide to improvise. But since this one is themed the chances of scrapping a performance is slim. I do not wish to make things more difficult, its just that dance performances are an in game element and to post it here publicly would ruin the performance
8.
The kingdom was invaded by an outside force. Heros rose and fell in the throws of battle giving rise to the remnants of our mind where history repeats it self in swords and sheath. The invaders arrived through what is now known as GG on the beach much like the empty aramors of our recent past. A piece of the puzzle lost to time, only to be revealed through magic. The invaders assimilated with the citizens and soon became citizens of the land. For it was a civil war that had the strength to shatter the kingdom into different parts. A civil war that took place in Necrovion, leading towards the internal fear, agony, betrayal, and torment reflected in the land. Now to look at why I think the lands were first invaded by an outside force. By looking at Siege Crest you can tell that battle was aimed towards the sea, not towards the mainlands. And the missing cube from Meeting of the Roads lies here. The light house is broken down an shattered, a boat and its weapons lie at the lighthouse's feet in ruins. Clash of Age's battle also points towards the beaches of GG, the direction of the arrows and the placement of the carts face the beach. Where long range battles took place first at Siege Crest but also at the Clash of Age's. The first hand to hand combat, took place at The Aramory. It is there where the building was placed in memory of the fallen. The assimilation can be seen in MB where on the surface things appear to be civil and calm. But the underground shows the darkness that connects to GG and the troubled path that leads back to the sea and the weaponsmith. That is not all of what lies in the depths of the Underground, it also has the Nymphs that tie back to the water, fateless doors, and Gazebo of Chaos directly under the Gazebo of Equilibrium. It is the duel nature of the Nymphs, the two doors, and the Gazebos that lead to the first signs of the civil war. The emotional and mental unrest of those in the past. Faces hidden, loss of hope, and chaos... with those imprisoned not far away. From MB, access into Necrovion is gleamed. A path to the heart of the civil war, with guardians acting as the last protectors of the secrets... the berserkers. Planes of Fear, Trial of Agony, Caves of Torment, Island of Seclusion, House of Tainted Times... represent the emotions of those caught in the civil war. Of pain... of times so toxic that it has wrapped the lands in reflection. Changing it from what it should have been... in the seclusion of their thoughts... battling themselves and comrades... it is a lonely path to walk from Necrovion and its hidden knowledge. Knowledge gleamed at the Archives and it's lost path. The way to Loreroot shows the wildness in the attempts to mourn the past and stand against the internal conflicts. Ash's Arch burning its incenses and raising the offering towards Necrovion. With the war hold rising out of the trees with its loyal citizens. The War Hold a testament to those who fell and stood in the civil war. A civil war who's foundation was built upon the invasion, and the citizens who reacted against the invaders. This complexity giving rise to the rivalry and loyalties of the lands and the actions of the shades.
Hmm... I may have jumped around a bit. --Assira the Black
9. Hmm... if these things are posted before the event... I think it would take away from what the event could be... If afterwards people then posted what they did or if someone else posted it if they are unable too for some reason... Then people could vote on that presentation or art. And what time on September 11th?
10.
One reality shattered, pieces revealed as sides of the cube. Only coming into existence as time flows by to show a new piece or remove the dust from a piece in view. The shattering is shown through the paths and sights of old battles that tore apart the reality of what had been a complete cube. In this example of the Aramory and War Hold, the paths leading up to them show a stronger connection. It is a mostly solid stone path that breaks away as it gets further from those two locations. Stones becoming buried in the soil, cracked, and broken. The paths lie broken and disconnected... this is not only seen in the stones on the path but also a break in the bridge from Fortune's Well to Oak Fort. As if everything once was connected or was one. That is not the only connection that the Aramory has to Loreroot. One of the creatures Grasan has its roots in the Hollow Den. But the Aramory also is connected to other lands like Necrovion and GG but connections between all the lands is a bit bigger puzzle to try to solve. On the paths from the Aramory and to Hollow Den more connections can be made between these two lands. Clash of ages and Siege Crest, Fields of Abandonment and Golems' Mill, House of Liquid Dust and Defensive Quarters, Hollow's den and Fenths Beach... Not all are a direct reflection of each other in location... but in the details of what is there. Clues can also be seen at Meeting of the Roads... paths connect but three cubes lay broken or buried... hinting to what once a single, complete cube that is shattered into incomplete sides. It seems one cube is missing at the Meeting of the Roads making it difficult to make a single complete cube. (not talking about the clickie cubes) One reality, one original land... torn apart and scattered. Buildings, architecture, trees, and other land marks reflect clues in each other like ripples in the water... slightly skewing what was once there.
If I need to expand upon a point or was confusing, do not hesitate to ask for clarification. --Assira the Black
11. During the first round of the slave auction MD would not load at all for numerous people. For some it may flicker the background but not load the chat or scene. Towards the end of the occurrence of the first wave, some where able to post in chat with a variance in lag time from 30seconds to about 2 minutes. It was not a set lag rate. It lasted for about two hours total and the lag would go in and out. I had to leave and do not know if Major Lag Monster or the Loading Time of H*ll returned afterwards for anyone. Loading problems would not bring up an error or anything like that for me, it would be a blank white screen where the loading circle for my browser would be constantly moving. It could sit like that for 10 -20 minutes and nothing would happen. Reloading and closing out of the browser would not change anything, the browser would still be working at attempting to load it. I even heard someone mention that the same thing was happening on their mobile device. At one point I was able to see the background color, side navigation bar, and part of the right side bar. Things that did not load when that happened were the following: the right side bar had no words, did not allow for the 'see more' tabs to separate, have chat, no people list, it was lacking the scene image or the download symbol when the scene image is trying to load, and clicking on the side left panel did nothing to change page. Refreshing at that point led back to the white screen where my browser was trying to load it. edit: added to and reworded a few things
