Fyrd Argentus

Two contestants alternate sentences in a growing story in an attempt to make themselves out as the hero, their antagonist the villain. A bracket-elimination challenge.

Tall Tales, Weird Truth, Shaggy Dog stories, anything to make the audience laugh, and vote you the best!

These can be on an announced theme, or face-to-face timed challenges.

These can either be to an announced topic, or face-to-face in a challenge setting. Both were done at the 16th Anni event.

"Hot Potato", really, MD style. When the Master of Ceremonies says to start, they pass a stinky RP object to someone, and starts a timer. This is passed around until time is called. Whoever holds the object when time is called is out. Person who was "out" throws it back in the ring for the next round. Play continues until only the winner remains Now, if anybody has duplicates of the items, it gets more fun. Throw them into the mix and multiple people can be out. Of course the stinky objects should be returned to the original owners after the match. Things would get really weird if the stinky objects were resources that stuck together in stacks.

As seen in the 16th Anni celebration. Players are shown a collection of elements that they must use, then are given a fixed time to write a story that includes them all. Results are judged by vote of all present.

As seen at the 16th anni celebration. MC chooses a theme, and you take turns making puns. It's a round-robin elimination if you pass or repeat. Last person standing gets a point. Play multiple rounds.

The idea is to try to get the other players to guess your topic - while under the influence of your favorite speech-altering beverage. We need a group of people, and a beer cask or a lot of bottles. Everybody PM's their topics (title of book, movie, song, etc.) to the MC, takes a swig, and away we go -- all at once. You may not use any word, or derivative thereof, from the title. One point each to the first person guessed, and the player who guessed it. Play multiple rounds to find final winner.

Each topic in this sub-forum will relate to a possible event or game. If you are interested, sign up and possibly indicate times you might be available, as repllies to that topic. When enough people show interest, all will be contacted to find a mutually agreeable time to be chosen. If you wish to add a potential event or game, feel free to post. If the event has happened, you can post acoustic remains, scores, etc. and ask for the obsolete planning stuff be erased to make ready for another round. Contact Fyrd or any moderator.

Possibly call these new buildings "Vaults" to avoid this confusion?

None of Fyrd's gold has apostrophe-backslash. All Fyrd's silver after a 2010-2011 transition has such, but the older coins do not (see ID's on screenshot). May I suggest that coins with typos on them become collector's editions. You might simply allow a trade-in at Willow's shop for those that are OCD. Might save you a lot of work, and add something to do in the realm.

Observation: on first entry the the arena, the knight is painted in before the backdrop (whether it's supposed to be there or not). On subsequent entry, the backdrop is painted first. This correlates with the appearance or not of the error message etc. and may help debug this issue.

I think this was minted about 0500 this morning, Fetch's 30-day anniversary. Looks okay to me, but I don't know what I'm looking for. p.s. He has 4 silver that all have the backslash problem, I see now. pps. All my alts have backslash silver, the gold doesn't have the backslash-apostrophe.

Nice, but should random people (such as myself) be prohibited from donating to MB Treasury {Buildings}? Withdrawals I understand.... Well, so NOBODY can yet, but when the time comes... perhaps allow money donations but not items, or people might use it as a garbage dump, and fill capacity...

I think people already understand and expect "combat" -- they need to be introduced to the free-form role-play elements.

Regarding the menu strip along the bottom of the page, two things "bug" me. 1) Why does it suddenly pop up 3x size after you use the text box in the right panel to do a "give" operation? Using it then is the last thing you want to do, but is the first thing you HAVE to do because it obscures the scene. 2) It would be so much more useful if on the first line it showed all the usable objects with pictures, a line feed, then everything else with pictures. 3) Not a bug - it would enhance the value of this menu if you could click on a non-usable item and trigger the "give to..." box.

I don't think so, but if I did, I couldn't find either one of them. It is possible I closed the window, did not refresh, and it thinks I still had it open...

At least twice today I've cast Acoustic Remains spells that didn't "take". It took heat, made the sound, showed orange in chat -- but no window. Refresh the page and try again, it works as expected. I have plenty of casts, but if this is happening with other spells, it's a worry.
