    retrocausality
either you agree that events in the future are "stronger" (maybe more real) than events in their past, then it means that whatever you experience in the present is following a purpose in its future, and everything are just "roots".
    or
you consider events in the past "stronger" than whatever might follow them, meaning that everything in the future is totally meaningless and just a causal result of whatever happened before.
The second version is what people find easier to accept and the first is for some plain outrageous.
There are niche experiments that proved events in the future change events in the past (scientifically, look for "quantum eraser"), there is religion that talks about similar concepts (regardless of religion).
However, direct, simple, observation can only tell the story of causality, you do one thing then the next event is the effect of what you did, cause and effect.
My personal belief is that viewing things as causal, is dark ages level. I strongly believe that we observe reality (or our side of what we call reality), in a single, causal way, but it actually holds both sides. I think events happen at some point in "time" then spread their roots into the future AND the past, joining "threads" that will eventually confirm their existence and lead to it.

Hi I'm dead. Granos murdered me with a spoon.

He said I was too beeligerent and deserved some time in the comb.

Azull said my ap will wax with being in shade, but I don't see what all the buzz was about with being dead.

He said that the rewards will be as sweet as honey, though! : )))

Maybe other deadlings should wake up and smell the flowers for once.

In our lives there are plenty creations of the mind that make us suffer or heal us just as much as physical contact with the physical world. Now, in MD they are called creatures and are supposed to be mastered and used in 'duels' with other minds, and mastering them starts with the fundamental issue of obtaining/knowing the name of the creature. However, in this topic I want to bring into focus the possibility of change.
One creation that has divergent paths around MagicDuel is the angien, a dual creature which seems to represent different things. Now, I like giving this example found in Greek mythology, since it's quite easy to understand and works for many points to illustrate. The example follows two stories on love - that of a man losing his lover (she dies) and of a man losing the bee colony he was taking care of. The first man dies in bed, feverishly uttering the name of his beloved, the second receives advice from the gods and manages to 'revive' his bee hive the next spring. It is an example of love, but there are different circumstances to this love, that make the two cases unique. We can further ask - what if the first man had had a child from his relationship? Wouldn't the love for the child give him the strength to press on and live, despite the suffering? Such circumstances bring about change in the feeling, the creature we nurture throughout life, and even if we're talking about the same creation, it's not quite the same.
In the case of the angiens, something taints the 'pure' angien, and we can talk about what that taint is, but we can also consider it a 'circumstance'. This means for every creation we know the name of, there can be various circumstances that would make each creature different, depending on the patron. Of course, the differences might be negligible and not warrant different visible expressions of the creature, but they can also be striking. The angiens should have expressed their nature according to the user, but it's quite difficult to come up with a nice algorithm for it. However, of importance here is, I think, the fact that one creature can change unless fully 'evolved', at which point it can only be used as is or sealed into oblivion.
Creations of the mind are subject to change, and not forgetting that can give you the power to change, if you are determined and curious. There might be unacceptable situations in life, there might be tunnels seemingly with no end, but there's always a light at the end. That's because a feeling can grow, be changed, discarded, abused, enhanced, it's because we're not bound to it without any choice at all (the definition of 'choice' here is in conjecture with there being multiple possibilities or uses). The screen I'm looking right now may stay a screen forever, unless I decide to smash it, or sell it, the anger someone feels towards me might be unchangeable at the moment, but my anger, my creation of the mind, is moreso within my power. And certainly, the hills and meadows, the forest and mountains, the rivers and deserts of the immaterial world of the mind  is filled with such creations, born without my consent and with my absent participation, but! the landscape is not definitive - not for one moment. It keeps changing, and you keep walking - a traveler on a muddy road.

While my opinion might be considered somewhat biased. I try not to be.
I think keeping GWi as spawning point for new players is better than directly to the main land. As has been said. At least GWI offers some single player activity. And it slows a player down a bit, though not much, before seeing how empty MD currently is.
What it does need is an automated narrative/guide. Since there aren't enough active helpers to have a 24/7 presence. And follow up quests for the various exits.
For someone actually stuck. Or old player just popping in. Sure port them out. (easy enough to make a clicky that offers insta travel choice to anyone above a set ad minimum)

@ Ledah. The rope is not hard to get. It is easy to miss though. (It's just lying on the ground somewhere  ) The Heads option is one of the oldest possible ways out. But it was disabled because there was no point. As you pointed out. Not enough people... And riddles... well they are tricky, some you get instantly and others you just can't figure out. But I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway.

A game about stories. Stories that you choose not only what happens, but where it goes, how it impacts you, and even what that story is. I've learned that in MagicDuel one often has their character go and explore options, or routes, that they(or I) would never take as a person. My character might find fulfillment in doing something that I never would in my real life. Then the realization hits that my character and I are not so different after all. In that moment, the friends, the choices, the decisions, the stories become more than just part of a game and a character, they become real, they become part of you. All of those times when your character did something that forced you out of your comfort zone, you've realized that your comfort zone has now grown. I have been pushed, pulled, and gravitated to many things in MagicDuel, all of these have made me do two things: learn and grow.

At first I was hooked by the detailed hand-made artworks, the possibility to write your own story, and the all-pervading symbolism.
Then I discovered how easily (and selectively!) this "game" creates networks of kindred spirits.
I suppose this is its main feature.
I traded pieces of my true self with my character, with other characters and with the people behind them.
Most of the times, it was a valuable and teaching experience. So yeah, a game?

I'm not sure what makes me log in every day to play MagicDuel, but I have done so for more than 6 years now. I guess there are many hard-to-describe little things that make it enjoyable. However, the 'game' aspects of MD are somehow downplayed. For example, the combat system is excellent (and that's enough to make a game memorable, right?), but there is a sense of it being just something to be good at if you want to, but not imperative. It's not ''the way'' to progress, it's ''a way''. Well, maybe I can't explain my reasons, but I know this game is something that some of you will find to be ''perfect''. You may think you want the prettiest ring, the most expensive ring, the most sought-after ring, but that's not what you really want; what you want is a ring that fits you. Give MD some time, and time shall reveal if it fits you.

to me, MD is expression and growth, a catalysis for personal change. there were thing's in my life that i was struggling to deal with, and i used MD as a mask for them. my persona in MD i found ended up doing the same, using a persona to hide from herself. MD was there while i needed this escape, and when i had dealt with my problems my character dropped her persona too. MD allowed me to express a part of myself that i could never have done before, something that i really needed to , even if just for a short while. i took a part of myself, and gave it it's own life. she sleeps now, but i don't think i would have done certain thing's in my life had it not being for the ability to express differently here. i'm very grateful i was able to have that experience, the personal connection it's given me has made MD into the place that i've stuck around the longest. i tend to be a drifter, not staying in one place for more than a couple of years at most, but MD has kept me for 7 years, and while i don't have the same time available to devote to it, it's still something i don't plan on leaving
