1. I'll join in. Sounds fun. Edit: Teamed with Jester.
2. Let me add to that a bit, more formally. A fourth problem (in my opinion the worst) is that guardianarmy uses a random set of the caster's creatures, regardless of the caster's rituals set. There was a time, long ago (years), in which it at least used the caster's def rit for the castee to attack with. In other words, when I first tested "attacking myself" at that time, I got the same ritual on top and on bottom. The change to random was unnanounced anywhere as far as I can tell, so it was surely something breaking. TL;DR: No, it is not meant to be a random rit. Example of current action:

As we can see here, one of the mp5's attacked me while I had cast GA on them. On top is my defense as the defender, on the bottom is the randomly-assigned GA that is attacking me. By the way, the logs I get from GA attacks are always counted as an OUT, and this particular one is a victory, if you're curious.
3. Volition: 1 Activity days: 36% (A total of 751 out of 2104 days) I almost never move from the place of highest population density. Lol.
4. I realize it's a bit late to be saying this, but late is better than never. I really, really like this idea, and I think the time of 24 hours is most appropriate (longer is kind of unnecessary, since you can usually log in once a day. Although me being lazy and inactive, I'd make use of idling for a solid week if I could xD). Honestly, I wanted to be able to idle for 24h way back in mp4, and I just got used to things as they are. If people can idle for the full time until their login the next day, it would allow a community sparring grounds with casual members who are literally always there. Also, people could make themselves permanently PM-able and poke-able by idling in a sanctuary. Let's look at things this way - as I see it, there are 3 main continual draws to MD: combat, RP, and community. This has always been so. I myself was drawn by the rather unique PvP-only combat system (as such, adding respawning NPCs would be a _VERY_ bad idea), and have been a bit enchanted by the community. Item crafting, etc, just make it more like every generic MMO out there, which MD can't (or better said, shouldn't) really compete with, IMHO. It would need to have a LOT of work to approach combat or RP as a major draw. Boosting idle timers will directly increase targets for combat, and it cannot hurt RP. Making ingame contact easier across timezones certainly is a good thing. It's not like the server's overloaded with people, and people who don't want to fight stay in sanctuaries anyway, so I see no reason not to implement this. Seriously, there are far more empty aramors than actual people in the realm.
5. The one with the 30-sec timer was the one recently removed, IIRC. What is needed are increased rewards per vote, or an extra reward if you vote on all the links in a day, or something like that.
6. That was waaay too fast; over and done with in less than 3 hours. If you could locally control time, with permanent effects, why not just turn it back to have the fetus not exist in the first place, and collect both rewards? I'm very surprised Dragual would give up so easily.

Dead Again

What, it wasn't a suicide?
8. I'm willing to try this out. I generally prefer moist areas with partial shade. Don't know what's available, though.
9. My favorite quest was the puzzle gauntlet that Bootes did, where there were 5 puzzles. Solving one awarded his spell doc; solving all 5 awarded a wishpoint. One of these was a puzzle of Chinese chess to mate in 3 moves - I solved it in 2 moves. He then made a harder version, for 5 moves, which I solved in 4. The other puzzles included one that required a logic truth table to solve, and one that required visualizing the faces of a cube in space. Don't remember the other 2 puzzles anymore.
10.
Strange that I am being neg-repped just because I believe in something.
Don't worry, neg rep on a post like that one won't last very long.
11.
Maintain button when clicked (and a box ticked) produces a "Document not found" still.
I can confirm this as well.
12. Given to Dragual. Thread can be closed. Seems there isn't that much interest in TSs nowadays.
13. Is there a limit to the size of the underworld? I find myself 30 floors down, with no end in sight.
14. Maybe we need a forensics team, with an item that will test a corpse to find the killer.
15.
Hm... If it is artificial, then it is not real, correct? It would not truly be alive and therefore would simply be an everlasting presence with no real life.
Then where does the limit between real and artificial exist? For example, if you grew a fetus in a completely artificial environment, starting with a genetically modified egg, would it be alive to you? Or a brain removed from a body and kept permanently functioning, with an electronic input & output? What about a biological-based consciousness perfectly copied into an electronic medium? Or an artificially created electronic consciousness? (I assume that these will eventually be feasible, in a couple hundred years.) Is a different base material and process of creation really that important, if both express intelligence, emotion, and self-awareness? I personally would consider all of the above alive, and would consider them to have a right to basic human rights. Now then, to totally screw with your mind - which of the above, in your opinion, would have a "spirit" and a "soul", and why?
16. I have a Tormented Soul that is taking up space. Age 72, ID 775353 But I'd rather not just post the CTC around and wait for it to disappear; I want to see if I can do something interesting with it, as a little experiment. I want you to offer one reason why you should have it. A quest reward, a gift for a newbie, a bloody sacrifice, anything. Of course, if you offer a material good, like silver, flowers, or wiiya, that is fine too. I'll keep a notice of whose bid I consider "higher" edited into this post. Note: I will generally value nonmaterial things higher, for the purpose of this experiment. Bidding will close if there are no new bids for 24 hours. Current best: Dragual
17. This shouldn't have the word "theory" in it. It's an interpretation if you look at it figuratively, or a hypothesis if you look at it literally. As for the content, please describe spirit and soul, as you understand them. These words can mean different things to different people. For example, I may consider them to exist entirely within the Mind, as a figment of Imagination. I wonder how the concept of a purgatory realm fits into your picture. And finally regarding immortality, how would you regard a consciousness within an artificial brain that can be safely replaced if it degrades?
18.
PS: 0 SC is acceptable for those without Min Bid
In that case, I bid 0 silver coins each for the #8 UP and for the #14 joker.
19. I strongly recommend that a byproduct resource, the most appropriate of which is Syntropic Dust, is used in the recipe, because it requires at least 2 people cooperating to harvest any sizable amounts of it. Also, I like the idea of golden apples being used to revive. (and no, this is not a link to the Minecraft golden apple. ) I have found a poem that seems like it can get your creative juices flowing here: “ Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun. " —W. B. Yeats, The Wind Among the Reeds I propose that an ultimate revival consumable (ambrosia?) require as two of its ingredients an apple harvested during a Day of Tranquility on a 12th of a month and an apple harvested on a 24th of a month. The resulting consumable should be usable at any time, and should give an effect to someone not dead using it - 45 minute meditation on life, maybe? Giving the tree X water could cause it to grow X/10 apples the next day. A basic apple should be edible with minor effects.
20. In my opinion, revival should not require any silver/gold cost to the dead player. Because he/she didn't choose to die, and could not protect against it. The cost of revival should be solely a cost of time and effort, and should be guaranteed to work if that time and effort is expended. A community effort to revive someone should be available as a shortcut, but there should be some way to guarantee a revive without anyone's help, for example, a dead person can automatically revive and respawn at the paper cabin after a month, with all creatures drained of vitality. Or it could be done via illusions. Of course, a person may choose to get a quick fix and buy the use of a revival item, but this should not be a strict requirement to revive.
21. Note that Mur being away might be partly an experiment to see how MD handles itself for the most part; to see whether his brainchild has grown independent enough yet. I suspect that Mur may be trying to make MD self-sustaining and, more importantly, self-evolving without his input being necessary. Replacing the council with anything without knowing the full extent of their duties is a very bad idea. They are doing their job, slow and unpopular as it may be, it gets done. Anything new may not do it at all. However, something must be done to fix the issues at hand. As a first step, we need to get the council to sit down and talk. A discussion, in game or on the forum, is absolutely necessary to gather information about the situation at hand. For this, the council needs a permanent representative, even if this representative remains anonymous and is unable to make any promises or decisions. Master of Ceremonies would do for now, but probably not permanently. I suggest that we also elect a representative for the talks, so that the council representative is not swamped with questions from all sides. And we need to make a list of topics that our representative would bring up in talks.

23. This council decision is absolutely absurd. Particularly the part about the Council overriding Mur; that I find simply laughable. Regarding BHC, the only reason I don't enter is that the entry fee is quite steep, with not much chance of a return on your investment (particularly for me, having only 1500 attack and pretty much tokenless). If it was free like the regular HC, or cost a renewable resource (like fenths), I'd be participating in every single one. I find it very sad for Eon to be resigning, because in my humble opinion he managed it well. Most importantly, he won his contests fairly, without abusing his powers, and I respect that.
24. Does it have to be a picture IRL? Can it be a picture of a replica built in Minecraft, for example?
25. I propose that this revival item could cost resources to use. Possible resource cost per use: 20 Fenths (raw material) 8 Wiiya (the identity to be returned) 8 Syntropic Dust (to breathe life into the identity) 1 Timeless Dust With this recipe, it is impossible to gather the required materials alone (Syntropic Dust is a byproduct), so cooperation would be required. If something with a recipe like this is established, I will donate my Fenths to the revival effort.
