And the people who farm alts for wps are either stupid, or greedy.
Have you been in md? There are many like that, people just want to be the best, and will try and get it any way possible Its like when people were scamming people to get 10 principles, when they would just be reset. And what about all the alt abuse of angien eggs? The problem is, that people will find ways to abuse it, Anything todo with alts needs to be restricted, i agree with you fenrir, alts need major limitations on them, But where there are oppunitities to abuse, people will take it. The bonuses that people can gain from alt abuses far outweight the possible punishment, Since there are rarely alt punishment if you look at the overall amount of alt abuses out there. This is something i think needs to be fixed

It depends how you look at 10/3 If you look it from a purist maths view, then it can never be represented as a "real" number. But if you look at it from a real point of view, The more accuracy you have it will increase closeness to the number it should be (which is 10/3), You will reach point infinity that it doesn't matter if the number is 1 * 10^-infinity off or if it is correct, represented as a fraction. The degree of accuracy at point infinity is infinately small and therefore in bigger picture it is pointless. Some would argue 3.33 is accurate enough and correct, But when you get to an infinate amount of decimal places the difference between the fraction and the "real" number then the practical difference is nothing. The whole question is merely a matter of perception, How do you see this I have a list of numbers, One to infinity 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ... infinity This number "set" has an infinate amount of numbers Now what about 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ... infinity How many numbers has the second set got?
30 items = at least 30 raw materials not plausible
not nesscarily, there are a lot of raw materials, it still is an easy way to get things, i could for example use the wishpoints for other more nefarious things if you know what i mean
There's a good chance that people will farm several alts, some to make items for themselves, and then some more to sell.. xD
30 wishpoints on all accounts * 15 coins per item = 450 coins This is not just profitable, its viable, and will utterly break the MD system.
-
Wishpoints will be redialy availble, so then you will be able to get coins easily since you can make items that can be traded for coins, So the marketing system will fail since with all the new items they will become worthless and coins will have a lesser values as there are so many items around. Wishpoints on alts will make the problems 10 times worse, Wishpoints 2 times a year will make it problematic
I support this idea...... may be 1 WP / every 100 active days?
thats well to many wishpoints, it would make inflation massive!
if you still need help i am available.
Suddenly a reward is mentioned, and people want to help
wait we need a lowest stats award! because currently i have negative stats from having way to many losses, but spells, and equiptment shouldn't count.
when will the voting start? and who do we "vote" to? Generally who is organising this?
-
Its quite intresting how many people have just ticked 4 per year and allow alts just to get more wishpoints if i look at my accounts if my alts could get them i would have... 30+ wishpoints Now that would screw the system up slightly.
this looks like you wanted a neverending rewards source like spell-docs so you can give people a reward for all kinds of bs, like... 'oh, you wrote a nice ally-page, have a cook... eh... spell', 'you recruited 3 new members, here's your spell'...
Im going to be cynical and agree with Burns It seems like you just want more spells when you can get spells easily Mur gives Kings wishpoints Wishpoints get given out for rewards or to reward people they spend the wishpoints any way they like which can get them spells This works fine, so why should alliances be able to give out spells? to me this who idea sounds like you just want more spells and dont want to work for them The only flaw in the link is that you need to work for spells, Which is someone that if you were in an alliance who could give them, wouldnt necessarily be the case. My main question is, whats wrong with the current spell distrobution? you get what you work for, So some will work for it and get spells and some wont.
As you can see, they're striped out in grido's post aka: They're no longer there.
Damn, so you actually have to read posts? Iv been getting it wrong all this time!
Uh... wouldn't best Knight of the Bell/CoE/seeker of enlightenment be highly similar to that of best Guardian of Bob? And best Clown would be tailored to one person I think...
I think we need a "Best Chewett" award
How about best progressor, i.e. the person who has made the mos progress over the last year, it can be quite an open category as it's open to interpretation. Some people may see progression as combat progression others as RP, it doesn't matter. Either way I think it'd be a good category. Garg.
It seems a little too open for my liking, i dont think there will be enought definition to get a clear winner, and then people will just need to ask for people to vote for them, and they will win
I actually like the idea of this creature. It's not like its 4 wp's per creature, it would be 1 per unique creature and 3 to unlock upgrading tiers (One time use).
Actually he was proposing that the creature would cost 4 wishpoints. and not just one and have used 3.
If you want chewy, we can add a category "Best veteran (age 700+)"But I'm afraid mur would wipe the floor with you...
i just feel that most annoying player and worst alt whatever are awards specifically designed for them, which seems a little counter productive to the whole award process, but it seems no one else thinks that so ignore me
The creature is actually designed to be "stronger" when the enemy is strong, and weaker when facing weaker enemies. Just like how an elemental/water daimon is very strong against high VE enemies and weak otherwise. It's true though, that the problem is on setting the limit of the strength. Life steal has a 20% cap now (used to be 20 something IIRC), the strength adjustment I'm referring to is mostly similar to setting this % cap. - The creature will be untradable. (or at least, that's the plan. No CTC for the craeture) - 1 WP is required to recruit the creature, and 3 WP to upgrade it to the max. Subsequent creatures only need 1 WP to recruit, but upgrading it no longer takes a WP. The 3 Wp is just to unlock the upgrading option and is shared across all creatures of that player. - A large fraction of the creature's strength is based on the enemy's strength (%based just like lifesteal), and strength adjustments will mostly affect the %cap (although there are some non-% abilities as well).
So this is a creature you have made? If so perhaps you should tell us more about it before we decide, you are telling us pieces of infomation and to me it seems an overpowered creature already.

I find it hilarously funny that everyone agreeing is on the border of the award so they can get a prize and i have issues with the worst alt and most annoying player, as its too specific i believe... But if everyone else is ok, meh
I have 3 with little over 100 active days, and I haven't completed the Broken Pattern Puzzle.

@Malaikat Maut: and I have 24 with almost 600 active days. So my ratio is better. But that is not the point. If I am not mistaken you got the WPs by solving essay related quests. Few people actually do that. Cause imo they suck big time. So you are one of the lucky ones that do what they love: writing essays. But for others, to get just 1 WP is really tough. So 4 WPs for a crit is really too much. Sometimes you need to work maybe 1 or 2 months to get just 1. And there is the other issue:if the stakes are high enough WPs might be trade/sold/etc. I don't want to see that.
1 wish point with 700+ active days! i win!

Iv just sent the list of anything i think should be removed based on the criteria he gave he can then decide and add them up

To be fair Garg, you are pretty busy and i dont think you will have time to run the archivests, What are you doing for the archivists at the moment? The newspaper is behind most months, and Grido is doing a lot of work on that, So im not entirely sure where you will find the time to run the archivests and the paper. I think one of the younger members of the archivests should have a chance.
For consideration, we already have a creature that costs somewhere near 4 WP, the wind dragon. Obtaining one requires the sacrifice of a GG drachorn, which some people will gladly trade one or two WP for one egg, plus doing some quests that could be viewed as a 1 WP quest. So we already have a creature theoretically near that cost, but in reality getting winds doesn't involve any WP at all. What would you think of a creature that does cost 4 WP to obtain and max?
Windy is theoritcally near that cost, but its not really, since it can be obtained with none. so really although its the most expensive creature, its not worth 4 WP, you just need to trade around for a GG then do a quest
Wait... Wouldn't all those that are marked spam etc. just be removed? So what exactly is the point in checking again? Mur'll have final say on rather it really is unapproved of anyway.
well if you have approved, unapproved, flagged then mur can check the ones that have been flagged. That will allow mur to check what is being flagged also an optional extra could be "approved by x" so that he can then pm the respective person if he needs to tell them something
-
Wouldnt it be easier to generate a page from the database, add a field as "approved" and just limit it by 10, then unapprove it when someone changes it, it would make it easier if you wanted to check it again
