Ivorak reacted to Fang Archbane in Seigheart's Auction
Personally, I'll start my statement off by admitting one thing. Although I am older than most fossils here, I'm not afraid to admit I'm a fool.

Now that that's out of the way, as a (VOLUNTARY) slave, and as asked by the Council, I feel I must post my opinion, so, here goes.

So Seigheart wasn't 100% specific about how things would be run. So Seig changed plans midway and didn't think twice about it.

SO. WHAT.

Seigheart has done more good than bad (IF hes done ANY bad) in the past, with this auction, and as I'm sure he'll do in the future.

I'm a slave, I volunteered for the role, Ledah has my leash and I'm happy as can be.

I DON'T MIND THAT SEIG KEPT HALF THE COIN CAUSE FRANKLY IM GLAD I GOT A FREE ITEM AND ANY COIN AT ALL.

Maybe if everyone stopped being so anal (pardon the language) about this and just enjoyed MD as it's meant to be, the world would be a better place. But that won't happen, so I'm here to put my foot down.

I totally support Seigheart in everything he's done, I don't doubt his credibility, I trust his word completely, and would never doubt him for a second.

I don't care if in the end he looses. I don't care if in the end he wins. I'm just here to say, that no matter what, I have Seighearts back in this all the way, and in general. Seigheart is a great player, and an even better friend. Why do you all feel the need to go out of your way and badger him over some small coin? He had the idea for the slave auction, NOT you. He felt the need to keep half, NOT you. So please, for the love of MUR tell me why ANY of you feel you have even the SMALLEST right to judge Seigheart, because last I checked only Mur could be irrational and the world would still be ok.

That being said I'm done ranting now. My opinion is stated and I stand by it. I won't be posting here anymore unless circumstances change and I feel I'm needed once more.

I've always hated the way the alliance system works and I don't agree with you Eon (see other main thread) - why should loyalty and fighting control alliances that have little if nothing to do with that? I've always thought its stupid. I do want to know what the different things are though because while I welcome a change to the system, I would be very against some sort of new loyalty based system or something where alliances are more like property to war over, which is kind of what that sounds like.

I don't think negative votes should matter, the border of getting people to vote is a much more involved one. After all, to be admitted you'd require over 50% of the land loyalty.
I think negative votes should matter, or perhaps there should be a way to leave a comment on a candidate for citizenship that would be displayed to other citizens before votes are made. There should be some sort of way to share knowledge of plots, infractions, foreign allegiances, etc., without having to contact each citizen individually.

Ivorak reacted to Isabella Finch in Development Focus Public Vote
I searched for alternate threads about this but found none. So if this is posted and not wanted, please feel free to move it or delete it.

I did read the entire box of text and I have to admit... I don't really get it. Especially the tags option. In my opinion, this should be the least focused on. If it is about personal tags then isn't it just something we can place on our personal pages? Maybe I just don't understand, but I don't see the full need for these, especially since people say wat they want others to know about them in their papers they go out of their way to get so people can read about their character. So what is adding tags going to do? I seen Necromancer Mortis had done this, I was thinking it was purely rp. Maybe it is. And even so, I still don't see what good it does...

As with the other two options. They were explained a tiny bit, but not enough for someone brand new to the game in comparison to people that have played for years. Could this maybe be "dumned" down a bit? I have seen the reasons for not joining an alliance, aka you get your rear handed to you on a silver platter by baddies too intimidating to even look at let alone fight against and actually hold your own. Pros however for joining an alliance have completely escaped me.

And citizenship, it seems is just for getting special items for gathering special items to make special items? Unless I am mistaken on that, but that is the gist I have gotten so far, which doesn't seem right. If I wanted Isabella to get any items she would have to join Marind Bell because she has a hard chance, if any at all, to go anywhere else. When, based on her character, it seems Necrovian or East lands would be much better suited. And I doubt land jumping just because you want to be a citizen to get ingrediants but then moving to another better one as you get the chance is even allowed. And if it is, it is probably frowned upon.

Also, they were slightly described, but you didn't say what the votes would do.. If Citizenship gets the most, for example, what will be changed about it compared to how it is now? I tried asking one person about this and he said he wasn't even voting because none of it even concerned him. So would I be wasting my time with this as well, since I am so new to th game or does this all affect anyone no matter how old or new?

1. I had given my leash to the winner of my auction. Ledah. Don't know wtf you're talking about Pip. Kindly explain.
2. Again, part of the auction, just like everyone elses.
3. I didn't decide anything about my leash. Still don't know wtf you're talking about. My leash went to Ledah. The highest bidder in my auction.
4. If you go back and look in the thread, you will see the terms of service part of the slave trade.

So, before you start throwing all these stupid accusations around, do your gdmf homework.

Oh, and here is the page in the thread where the conditions were allowed:

I had also discussed the conditions with Ledah before hand. So, again. Stop posting all this "evidence" without know wtf you're talking about.

Now that we've a simple mechanic to transfer spells by memory stones, perhaps those stones could transfer charges to items and clickables as well as other people. Once spells are stored in a clickable, their casting could be triggered by opening the clickable or completing an action within.

Possible use cases include:
- I could store a locate spell (complete with parameters) so that people could find me easily (perhaps require a passcode before the spell goes off).
- A prayer word entered into the clickable dialog box would provide healing, if enough charges were available
- A riddle answered incorrectly would lock a player in place using the movelock spell. (This would be improved if certain actions could also trigger a PM to the scripter's inbox).
- Etcetera

It turns out that Mur suggested this before. But now with the concept of memory stones in play (especially the notion of the transfer of limited casts) this is something that should be pushed forward.

It isn't that I don't want anybody to have baskets. It's that a resource gathering tool is ranked at the same level as a toy in another land. It seems off balanced to me.
Back when Mur asked people to submit herb suggestions, he stated that herbs were meant to be available to anybody (will attempt to find a link). Plus if baskets are given a Lorerootian loyalty restriction (I am assuming that is what you'd suggest, as they are located in Loreroot), then I would argue that tea cups, tea pots and tea recipe books should be given Tribunal loyalty restriction (I'm assuming that they do not have restrictions, but I have not actually checked), as they are located in the Tribunal. How useful does that make herbs if you don't have Tribunal citizenship/Tribunal friends? The common link between these items, and the reason they are unrestricted, is that they are meant to be available to anybody who shows up to grab them.

The fact that the dice are "toys" doesn't make them less useful than herb baskets, either: they are just used differently. Dice can be used for quests, decisions, games, and most likely some other things that I'm too unimaginative to think of.

Ivorak reacted to Pipstickz in Spells on Clickables
I knew what you meant by WP spells, but I do not see how it cheapens them. If anything, it adds value through giving spells more diverse applications.

I believe the point of Ivorak's suggestion is that you add spells to your own item, rather than taking stones from others, so I don't see how you would take stones from people, unless I am still misunderstanding you.

Heat could be dealt with in a similar way to the clickable mentioned here: http://magicduel.inv...post__p__104537, where heat can be raised through donations or your own efforts and stored in the clickable, or possibly through dedicated items such as a heat jar that can be linked to a clickable, and if there is not enough heat for a spell that is deemed necessary to the experience of a quest, the associated event can be changed to say "Insufficient heat, try again or donate to continue". I don't think it's unreasonable for quest creators to ask for heat donations, and I would personally be glad to help, if this is a feasible idea.

Obviously there could be people who do things simply to mess with others, or out of spite, or whatever, but that can be dealt with through public opinion and awareness, or possibly the court:
