  1. Moved the most vital parts of the discussion, scroll up to see, moving always makes a bit of a jumble out of posts because they are saved in order of time and can't be sorted afterwards.
  2. I'd like it lands could have alliances amongst each other. For example, while they are friendly with each other, your land loyalty from one land gives you an advantage when moving on that friendly land, and when hostile, the loyalty hinder your movements. Right now, there's no choice, all lands are always hostile, but the effect doesn't show for anybody over 100 EI... which is almost everyone, i tend to forget that all those lands actually hate me for being from golemus :)) And lands should help you upgrade creatures, too. Maybe while you're part of a land, the creatures found in that particular land have 10% less heat/wins/age required for upgrades or something like that (sorry dst, no goodies for you :P)
  3. I think i don't quite understand the question. Are we talking technical features, like a land chat? Or stat bonus revised? Or leadership decisions-wise, like throwing people to jail and stuff?
  4. It would also make all the payers stop paying, because it's pointless to have an advantage which can't be used. You get advantages over the non-payers through investing in the shop, if you can't execute this advantage anymore, why buy it at all?
  5. Age is not a valid restriction against the things this heat fix was implemented for.
  6. Make a proposal about all, then. Seen from a basic point of view, something about a creature needs to get better when it upgrades, otherwise you'd not have any purpose in upgrading it anyway. Most get more health, but that's just not enough. To get somebody hooked on combat, there needs to be an achievement when you go to the next level. And if all creatures just hit single targets, you don't need half as many creatures as we have, just keep the one with the best stats and there we go, diversity is dead. If not all creatures are single hits, we need multi hits. Multi goes for 2-4, so far so good, but with the drawback that it doesn't hit singles. Imo, that's a very valid concept that opens some nice options. But do you really want your best creeps to come with a drawback like that? No, the best guys should do something a little more special than that. Out of all my fancy creatures, i get this extremely awesome option only with 2 basics, and with the drachorns. I'd almost dare to say that all is an extremely rare option, with only 3 out of 21 (based on my inventory, might be a few more overall) available families getting it, and those on the highest levels. How do you remove all, but keep those selected few creatures a tad better than the rest, as they are intended?
  7. Freeze is a gamble in a setting where everybody runs 6 creatures, yes. But have you considered that freeze is also the reason why everybody uses 6 creatures? I still remember the days when i was a small little newbie-mp5 without access to any form of freeze. I could run whatever i wanted, there were people who destroyed me by simply putting all their weight behind a single heavy hitter. Granted, on the higher levels of competition you get angiens, massive walls of ve and crit-boosts and you can't rely on a single hitter anymore, but for the greater portion of the players, it is that simple: I have higher stats than you, so i'll just go ahead and throw them onto my best hitter, and with the init advantage i don't even lose health when i burn you down. That is why you desperately want freeze to exist, even if it opens up the game for some gambling in other directions.
  8. My outbox doesn't save messages that long, maybe you can still find the original message in the council inbox, it'd be around March 10th 2013. Basically, i suggested to reduce the creature limit of Drachorns to 2 and Archers to 3 to lower the crit-boosting to a more reasonable level. With less drachorn boosting, we could also do with just 2 Angiens per rit, because you don't need to have 3 to counter boosted drachs anymore. Additionally, we could give drachorns a boost that applies to winds and winds one that applies to drachorns, similar to how angiens and tainted angiens boost each other up. This way wind would get a higher spot in the foodchain, and you can make a meaningful choice when you use drachorns: either more damage with a wind, or more freeze and antifreeze with rust or rein. This might just shift the ultimate power spike from 3 drachs towards 2 drachs, 2 angiens and 2 morphs, but it would definitely reduce the amount of stackable freezes and antifreezes, and lower the upfront damage output of a drach rit by 50%.
  9. No, doesn't, because your crit boost only raises your damage skills. Meanwhile, i outstat you on init due to a 1333 init token on my severely boosted damage dealer, and whatever stats you might have stolen are meaningless as my now absolutely unfreezeable heavy hitter goes crazy on your pesky little vamps. Yes, you might have stolen about half my power, but my first hit still demolishes whatever you got easily. Don't get me wrong, your ideas all hold merit as long as there is an even playground, and combat has once been, and hopefully will again be, rock-paper-scissors... but it's a futile attempt as long as there is that One Ritual to Rule Them All. Imo, any attempt to readjust combat has to start at reducing the creature limit for drachorns and angiens to 2, and only after that is done you can tweak the numbers until things work out. I have once written a longer piece of text about that, but apparently my reasons weren't convincing enough to the council.

  14. The party is over, and thus the quest has ended, too! In the count i made last night, which i'll go with, the first 3 stand as following: papaver 13 Lania 8 Gljivoje 5 Each of them has a few negative votes as well, but i don't think we can call that a close race, either. :)) The winning strategy was rather unusual, i'd say, but it seems that this mini-quest has made some waves, i even got a mention in dst's infamous blog! :D The participation was a lot lower than i hoped for, and thus the price will be a little lower as well. Papaver shall win a BP Archer from my collection, with about 1200 days and quite some heat to its name. Lania will receive 6 Silver Coins, and Gljivoje (give or take a few letters, hard name to spell) wins 3 silver. To all others, thanks for your participation, and better luck next time. I've had some fun watching, at least :))

  17. Many people claim that quests degrade to popularity contests when it comes to votings, elections, or other kind of public opinions. Therefore, this birthday i will run an actual popularity contest to give away some freebies! :)) The game is very simple: You have until the end of the birthday celebrations to get as many PL entries saying 'I deserve a Drachorn Charm' [or similar, you get the idea] as possible! You can trade, bribe, beg, call in favors or make new friends who actually want you to get free stuff, whatever crosses your mind counts. However, it might backfire if you run around and mindlessly ask for pl entries, because people can reduce your score by giving you an entry saying 'I don't deserve a drachorn charm' [or similar] :D The best few will be rewarded depending on the number of entries they can present at the end of it all. If participation sucks, there'll just be coins and maybe some creatures, but if you get a nice, big number, there might easily be a creature from my collection in for you, or even something from the famous Drachorn's Lair! If you're under 360 active days, that is. This game is just too simple for a veteran to win a drach charm in. ;) I'll check the participants if there are too many votes from alt accounts on them and might kick them out of the rewards list if there are too many non-unique votes. I'll not be overly harsh on that, but i expect participants to play fair. So, get out there and socialize!

  19. To my impression, many people don't want to go public or share because they are too scared that their results are straight out wrong. Lots of people have interesting ideas, but they don't want to share them because they are in doubt about them, and are scared to be branded as dumb if they missed something that's pretty obvious once you know about it. Maybe some of you remember the little challenge Mur introduced about the scenes on the wall over the shelves in the Log Review Room. People had the wildest ideas about it, all of them more or less founded. But once you knew the solution, it was so incredibly obvious that you simply felt stupid for not seeing it. I figure that's how most people feel about sharing their researches. [if you're confused now, because you either forgot what that challenge was or because you weren't around at the time, go to the archives, find the log review room and ponder for a while before following this link]
