Burns got a reaction from Ivorak in Quest rework - Requirements to join a quest
Has current VE / VP - that allows you to make quests where people can actually help or hinder one another through combat features

Has achievement - specifically thinking about research depth here, but i could think of newbie quests to require burst burner or high end quests to require full glow

Has ally / specific ally - what ivorak said, but with allies. You could create nice little gang wars, for example

Link for when this becomes ancient history and nobody knows what I'm talking about
To be clear, I 100% agree with Chew's statement here. Fang added nothing (or very little) to the discussion in that topic. However:
I'll put all my cards on the table here (at least in one of my hands), so I can hopefully make my point more clear: I was 13 when I started playing this "game", and I'm 22 now. You have all watched me grow into an adult (whether you realized it or not) and not only watched me but sculpted me. So given that, here we go:
As a younger man, I found it much more easy than I do now to engage with my passion for justice in MD. That's what I believe Fang was doing in the topic in question, and I don't think that should be shamed or stopped, at least not from an administrative standpoint such as the one that Chewett represents (whether he likes it or not, I should say), because (to be quite blunt) doing stupid things is how one grows and learns, and if it's somehow seen as "against the rules" to be passionate in the way that Fang was, I think it would be to the detriment of MagicDuel as a whole, based on how much I grew by being allowed to spew my own brand of BS back in the day (and even right now, what you're reading will probably be BS to me in the future). Sure it clutters topic and bothers everybody to read, but that's what the reputation system is for, and it's not like we have a lot going on here right now anyways.
That being said, I'd love to learn your thoughts, and I'm making this a topic rather than a PM because it's ultimately up to you: Do you want a slightly censored and more convenient forum utopia where everybody has positive rep, or an open forum where things get stupid, annoying and messy?
NOTE: I'm not casting blame or anger at Chew. Just want to make that especially clear.

Hello People and Denizens of MagicDuel.
It has been an interesting three years as one of the two leaders of the MagicDuel Archive Land. A lot had happened since 2014 within the realm, and I am glad to have been a part of it all - the expansion of existing lands and introduction of the A2050 tools, the arrival of many brand new inhabitants as well as older ones returning to build new legends, and the many, many quests and festivals that we see each year.
While some periods in MagicDuel's history have been fraught with controversy, I have been happy to see the last few years lack such antics, although it is a shame that this may be due in a large part to the reduced number of new arrivals in the realm to bring fresh ideas, as well as the departure of some of our more... I shall say passionate players from being regularly active.
In the last few years I have worked hard with darkraptor and many others to try and revive aspects of the MagicDuel Archive's as well as the broader realm. Both Aethon and Chewett have worked to revive the external MD Archive website, and it has been good to see new content on there. I have worked with a small team to revive the MD Paper, which unfortunately while we have most of the raw content due to significant delays at the start none of us have been able to find the time to finish editing. With many of your assistance we even managed to increase the ranks of the Archivist Alliance itself and begin laying the groundwork to reintroduce the Legend Speakers alliance, although again unfortunately enthusiasm for this has waned as other projects have arisen.
Outside of our land, there has been much activity with exciting new resources and creatures being introduced, the total revamping of Necrovion, death, and other staples of the MD world, the attempts to revive the Torch Contest and create a new format for that contest, and even just today the opening of a brand new land! As excited as I am and have been by all these developments, I find myself now an observer, not a participant.
My time in MD has, after nine long years, finally come to it's end. I do not mean that I will not be in the realm, as I intend to visit, and visit often, but I will be an observer, not an active participant. While I may help those who come to me for assistance with projects like writing stories for quests, no longer will I be running, organizing, or participating in such quests and events. The other realm calls to me too loud and too often. I've just received a promotion at work, my wife and I are starting up a business of our own on top of my existing work, and we are expecting a baby in July. So I think you can all appreciate that the next few years - and hell, the rest of my life even once things do settle down - is going to be a lot less focused on this realm.
As such, and as discussed a few months ago with darkraptor and Chewett, I hearby abdicate from my position as Chancellor and MDA Land Leader. I wish you all the best of luck in the new year, and I look forward to having new and unexpected things to see each time I come to visit. Who knows - In a few years I may just return again to introduce a fresh mind to MD.

    My dear friends,
This post is not related to md, hence the category i post in. It is related just to myself, and is written just to those that, regardless when, could have said they were my friends at some point in time. I am not the 'popular' type of person, and md was my escape to be myself without people knowing all my faces, or that i was actually very very shy..and much more Writing this here, makes much more sense than writing it on facebook or other places..i had no facebook before md btw
Life keeps making jokes with me. Its true i cheated death enough times to deserve the worst revenge from it, and i enjoyed it, still do, so i can't complain. Probably the most painful joke life is doing to me is that the person i love most has issues that make my love pointless and powerless. Also, the things i love doing keep finding a way to exit my life one by one, one way or an other..thats why i adapt and find new things to enjoy. For example before becoming a coder, i was absolutely convinced that my way in life will be related to art, sculpting and such..but hey, i ended up sculpting code. Coding passion started to find its end too, so i shifted to sculpt minds. When it comes to minds, one of my "masterpiece" was my own...and that might be a story worth learning from, if i will ever be able to tell it to someone. Apparently, this thing that i enjoy doing, controlling my thoughts and the way they cooperate towards a purpose, is about to end too. Over the last years i had several memory issues that i ignored so far. I even thought they where gone at some point, or that they are just limited to certain subjects, and i missed to see the bigger picture and the evolution of these issues. However, at a closer look at what is going on behind this thick skull of mine, i noticed that my mind is compensating the lack of memory by using most ingenious techniques and trying desperately to make things seem normal in my daily life. Things are not ok sadly. When i stop compensating the incredible fast memory degradation, total disaster shows its true face. I started being a terrible coder, that just has sparks of genius from time to time, but overall nothing like i was a few years ago. I started forgetting people faces to the point i am sometimes unable to recognize people i already know. Speaking still works great,as long as i don't actually speak, but write. If i need to speak out loud, i am using a lot more thinking process than ever, nearly ten times more than when writing. Again, i manage to successfully hide all this so far, and except people that see  me constantly, nobody noticed it.
so why disclosing this secret? Many years ago i had drug issues, severe..drug..issues. i managed to become clean again and fully recover on my own, but in that period, except a select few, nobody  knew. Word went out fast later on, but only after i managed to fight this issue, not when i needed someone to help me. All this because i decided not to tell anyone. Now, my problem is that if i am not telling what is going on, i might forget to tell all this later on.
You noticed my behaviour over the last years in md, and very few understood it. I tried to narrow down what the problem is, and i discovered that i am fully able to do tasks that i can finish the same day, but i am totally incompetent to deal with things that can't be finished within the same work session. Again, this is related to damaged memory. Also, regarding md, i stopped being able to do "murish" decisions or rule, because i might have the right ideas at any given point in time, but they don't remember previous thoughts so i have to rethink each situation over and over again. I managed to hide this quite well, by thinking about each given situati on "fresh" without depending on memory but on thinking ptinciples...and yes it worked, its an awesome thing to do btw.
Its a cruel joke to have a lot of mental abilities that could have been able to help me solve any medical situation, but now the problem is the mind itself. Could have been worse..i could have been delusional or so, gladly i am not, i just head towards total oblivion...slowly..but too fast for my way of life.
The memory loss is not predictable...sometimes i have great memory, but forget random stuff, other times i just forget what i was saying or why i was about to say, like it happened right now (i am trying to write this for the past few hours btw)
Many times i remember what i forgot, quite clear and sudden, but most times i forget that i forgot lol:)
I think i will never be able to transcribe the notes for the second book sadly..at least thats the current reality.
My mind is declining faster than i am able to adapt.  Thinking based on general concepts and giving up details helped a lot, but adapting my way of living to reduce stress and getting much much more organized is something that i can't finish doing in useful time, or at least before i will forget what plans i have for fighting this.
Maybe this explains many things about me in the recent years.
I wish i manage to meet some of the people in md that i learned so much from, while i am still Mur, not when i will become mur's shadow... so my efforts in the following years will be towards a different life, one that might help me live and experience the things i didn't do so far.
i think there are a lot more to say but i am tired and i fear i start repeating myself. Btw, being tired or having too much work was generally an excuse to hide away from people when i knew my mind was unable to be strong enough to function when scrutinized by other minds..sorry about that lie.
Btw i am more open to talk about "secrets" , non md, than ever, because i know they will eventually vanish with my mind, so i need to find them a good host before this happens one day. No worries, i have several years at my disposal, maybe 10 or more i dont really know.
I just needed to tell someone all this, without that someone to get to personal or close to me, because at some point i would have ended up being distant with that person, like i did so many times with so many people in md
Thank you all for your time

Most of the pictures are broken, I think I saw just one work using biscuit dough to craft, as aparently clay was already used too much, biscuit  is a more rigid material with faster drying, so it is not easy to put many details, I still hope you can observe the details on the head and scales.

Burns got a reaction from Pipstickz in Contract Form
Chewie brought up an interesting thought about a contract form and the option for people to call onto admin powers to get their stuff back, to promote the lease of items. So, after some internal discussion and tweaking, here's the form
How to: Just fill in names, dates and terms at the points where you see [ and ]. Points that say 'optional' should be deleted if you don't need them, it gets confusing if you leave them blank. Read carefully before use, specially point VIII!

    Lease Agreement
between [Owner of the Item] (referred to as 'Owner')
and [Leaseholder] (referred to as 'Leaseholder')
on the day [] of year []
    I.
The object of the following agreement is the item
    [Name]
    with the unique ID
    [ID]
    and the ability to
    []
    (referred to as 'Item').

    II.
The parties agree on a rental fee of [silver, gold, creatures, whatever].
    II. a. (optional)
The parties agree upon a security deposit of [whatever].

    III.
    The lease expires
(optional): after [x] uses of the item, but at latest
    on [day, year].

    IV.
The Owner agrees to transfer the Item to the Leaseholder once the agreement is finalized
(optional: before the end of [day, year]).
    V.
The Leaseholder agrees to transfer the rental fee (optional: and the deposit) once the agreement is finalized
(optional: before the end of [day, year])
and to provide the current ITC to the Owner.

    VI.
The Leaseholder agrees to transfer the Item to the Owner before the end of the expiration date [day, year]
    (optional: or after [x] uses)
and the Owner agrees to not use the ITC before this time.

    VI. a. (optional)
The Owner agrees to return the security deposit to the Leaseholder within [x] days after receiving the Item.

    VII.
The Leaseholder agrees to have the Item taken from him by a Game Admin upon official request of the Owner after the expiration date.

    VIII.
To request Admin assitance for the return of an item, the Owner needs to provide a screenshot of the Leaseholder stating the item name and expiration date in chat as well as the last known ITC.

    IX. (optional)
The Leaseholder agrees to pay a penalty of 1 Silver Coin to the Owner for each full day after the expiration date until the Owner receives the Item / for each use exceeding the agreed number of uses.

General rules is not exactly what judges are for, it's more of a case-by-case thing... What you're looking for is a parliament's job
I'll happily give some input and lay out what i'd definitely rule as abuse (if proven), but i'm not going to bind all future rulings to this discussion. So, if you want a post from me, it'll be all the things you definitely can't do as far as i'm concerned, but that doesn't mean that the things that are not on the list are okay in all cases.
If you find something like that helpful, i'll try my best to provide a useful list... But i don't consider this the job of judges.

Burns reacted to dst in Order items in inventory
At the moment, the inventory items are ordered based on the "creation date" which for common items (for example) is the date when they were bought from the MD Shop.
Searching for a specific item is horrible (especially if you have more items). Could it be possible to have them ordered alphabetically?

    The MD community.
For a community based game...it's very small, ridiculously so.
Maybe you're quite content with the little crowd you have at the moment, and want to make more and more things to do for a tiny population...but to me that seems kind of silly.
From what I've read MD has been getting smaller and smaller for years now, work is constantly being done, yet...for what? A new "tutorial" was made yet there's barely anyone to use it... There are more active alts/returned players than actual new ones...
Maybe it's time to start advertising before it becomes too late? Lets be honest; would you want to stay in a game that seemingly only has 10 people on at any one time? Especially when MP3 is hard enough as it is...

Burns got a reaction from Sunfire in Guardian of Tools Should Grabban based on depletion?
At a glance, my first draft would be like this:
Both parties are acting within the rules of the game, so we're not talking punishments.
Nadrolski is using a Mur-spell accessible to several players, which is limited to being used on people who abuse shared items in any way. Mur claimed that he'd specify abuse cases, but didn't, so we'll have to work off what we have.
Abuse cases laid out by Mur so far are a) having more than one of the same type, b) hoarding on an alt. Starting from there, his intentions seem to go towards using legislatior items to make sure that the items remain accessible to a number of people, where the 'number of people' is defined by the number of items he's providing for each type. I'd think that the factor 'availabilty of the items' needs to be differentiated from the factor 'availabilty of resources', as Mur has stated several times that depletion of resources is something he wants to have in game.
Thus, taking several items of one type out of the game on one account is definitely an abuse. I'd even argue that having more than one of a type on one person is an abuse, since Mur made it clear that he doesn't want hoarding on alts, and neither having more than one on an account. Taking that to a stretch, we could argue whether it's hoarding to have one item on one account, and another of the same type on an alt (which i'd agree to if i had to), but one item per person per rotation is definitely not an abuse case Mur had in mind.
The argument of Nad has merit as well, since depletion of a resource means that other people can't use their items while they have it. It makes no difference to a player whether he has no bucket, or whether he has a bucket, but no options to use it, the result is the same: no water dowsed. However, there are several instances when Mur has laid out that he doesn't intend for people to be able to use their stuff too easily, specifically in relation to resources. For example, he's made cauldrons team-based, and set up big stacks of resources in remote locations, both making it harder to use your resources. So, i think we can safely say that Mur didn't mean for depletion of resources to be a case of abuse by default. On the other hand, since the interpretation of Mur's rules leads to making items available to people, and having an item available, but un-usable would be pointless, we can also safely say that depleting all places at all times is an abusive practice.
That leaves the grey zone of abuse between those two: Depleting one location is acceptable, depleting them all is not. So, from my point of view, it boils down to the question how badly darkraptor depleted Marind Bell, and that's something i don't know as of yet, and it might be that his first use of the legislator item was justified. However, it seems that nad banned darkraptor from the buckets for 2 consecutive weeks, and it's simply not possible for dark to do something abusive with a shared item while he's locked out of said shared item. Granted, Mur talks about guarding the items from abuse, but if each case of abuse was enough to preventively lock out people for a prolonged period of time, there would be no way for them to rehabilitate, so that seems to be taking it too far.
So, without judgement on the lockout dark posted about on july 21, the lockout he posted about on july 29 seems unreasonable, and unless there's proof of dark doing something abusive with MB's water resources between july 21 and july 29, i'd be highly inclined to rule in favor of darkraptor for that one.

Again, that's draft version, without looking for specific MB rules (i actually don't even know if such exist) and without getting evidence from either side. If you want a case specific, 'final' ruling, it'd take some evidence, and i'd need to check for all the specific rules.
[Also, in case you didn't notice: If nad depletes resources or not might be a psychological factor, but it doesn't make a difference to how he uses his legislator stuff.]

Burns reacted to Eon in Humbly Stepping Down
After three or so wonderful years as Ruler of the East I am stepping down effective immediately. Sunfire will be taking my place, and I expect everyone to give him the respect that you had given me during these years. I will still be aligned with the East. Now I know you're a loyal bunch, and I can't stop you from calling me your Empress, but please don't do that in front of Sunfire. It would be very disrespectful.
    Your former ruler,
    Eon.

Burns got a reaction from Jubaris in New creature ability/aura idea - last chance
It's been a while, but an angien with just 1 VE would do nothing in the next round, wouldn't it?

It'd give a nice twist to ritual creation to purposely use suicide angiens to take out the strongest enemy, and have it still standing afterwards, resulting in a 99-100 win... i'd probably give up a slot for that in some cases, sounds like a nice idea to me

This aura or ability would target one or some of your creatures and give it 'last chance' effect (perhaps lasting only one or two rounds).
Last chance is a trigger which happens if a creature is about to die in combat - instead, it survives the hit of the enemy and stays alive on 1 VE point (losing the last chance buff and dying in case someone else attacks soon after)

Like you said you didn't take part. So **** off. I had already spoken to chewett about this and came to a conclusion. And as far as calling my quests a piss poor example I would like you to know they weren't made for you. And I don't care if you like them. I think all your quests are piss poor as well that's why I didn't play them. Plain and simple you didn't play the quest or make the quest so move on Z.

Interesting thoughts about the 'reality' of creatures and them being memory, though that should probably go to a split if it goes on.
Concerning drachorns in particular, i'll have to add from a mechanical point here. You don't recruit drachorns in the lair (currently), so i think the concept Aeo laid out doesn't apply to them. You might be right about the recruiting places and processes (also consider how elementals can be recruited at 2 separate places), however, the lair works differently. You can't recruit a drachorn there (from a mechanics point of view), but only 'take' things from the lair, if that makes sense to you all. You don't enter the place and pay VE, VP and AP to get a 'copy' of a creature, like you do at recruiting places. What you do is using the Melodic Charm to put the big drachorn to sleep, and then you're able to sneak one of his treasures, or one of his babies, away from him. Mind you, that doesn't give you a 'copy' of anything. The lair is stocked with several items and a bunch of baby drachorns (most of them in hatchling state as of now, some are still eggs), which all have a unique ID already, unlike the creatures you recruit normally, which don't 'exist' until you make your copy of them, hence getting a 'fresh' ID. So, while thoughts on recruitment might be good, i think they don't apply to the lair.
