As the major holidays fast approach, let's get the realm into the season. Choose one scene from Magic Duel and decorate it for whichever December holiday you celebrate. You can stick to the neutral colors of the scene or color it; however, the coloring should appear as things in MD are colored (look at shop creatures for reference). Also consider what sort of decorations would be appropriate for the scene.

Temple doors are the worst barrier (Gates of Bored excepted). It might not be the worst idea to vote some random players into LotE citizenship so that we can build a bigger group able to cut viscosity over there.

Kaya got a reaction from (Zl-eye-f)-nea in Voting Decision by Council
MD elections aren't all that complicated. You havea person or group of persons (Mur/council) who have the power to make the decisions. That group has an opinion, but keeps that oppinion to themselfes until all votes have been casted. Then they look if there are any arguments strong enough to change their opinion. If not they'll stick to it.
This time public oppinion seemed to slightly favor Zen, but not enough to change their mind. Like I said in my eyes both are able to do the job well (although I was slightly disappointed to see the age limit for new TKs disappear) so the differences were purely circumstantial and therefore not enough to change their oppinion.

How about you log in in the game and actually LOOK for the new people rather than making a forum post.
The game is here:

not here:

For my own purposes, I would like a list of new players. age is irrelevent. if you consider yourself new, or someone else new, write here.
I wish to get to know these new people. I want to know -you- not your md persona. it will not confuse me that way.
Thank you!

bring back spark of md, wheres inner magic and other elements of game that kept ppl intrigued and really pinned to the game, that somethin which was beyond the game itself, md was always for me more than a game, now... now its just a game, when it comes to combat its just another click-to-grind game, when it comes to rp its awesome sandbox, althout i like chews idea of new coders, burns idea of remake of combat, seighs idea of major changes, it all falls towards improving md into better game, but at cost of its soul, i am personally not here for game, i am for somethin of higher value that stretches beyond game itself, if it were about combat no matter how good or even if i was the best, i wouldnt be playin this game more than 2 months, if it were about rp, no matter if i could become anythin my imagination ever desired, i wouldnt be playin more than 3 months, if it were about quality of player base and relationships, i wouldnt be playin more than 4 months, truely by end 08 i would quit the game, only thing that made me stay and return is the endless potential to awe and explore new things which are unseen to me ever before, finding connections about things that have never been found before by anybody and attempt to figure out how to do the "impossible", becoz exploring magic concepts made you feel that way, all of this were ideas md was based on, seein game move away from that special base spice is very hard for me to accept
and i dont expect any player who havent played before start of 10 to understand the above

Kaya reacted to Seigheart in What would you do?
Turn MD on it's ass like Mur used to do.
Every few months, there would be such a major update, or something realm changing that everyone would complain and complain. That is what I enjoyed the most about MD, having to rethink MD because of things like Tokens, Items, trading creatures, etc.

Kaya reacted to Burns in What would you do?
Re-do the stats and tokens system from scratch and set tight limits on stats.
Because i feel that we've gone too far from 'good strategy beats high stats', and i want that back.

Remove killing items.
Why? Because killing is the easiest thing, reviving is not. It takes one person and 5 seconds to kill someone, it requires much more poeple and much more time to revive them. And people do not kill for good reasons (roleplay references), only because they do not like someone or because they are irritated for said person.

Change skill damage to be effective only on defence.
Why? Would be a huge plus for fighters.

After the merging, the world will come into a new phase, they will call it the "Magic Duearth" in which Mur, along with the Illuminati's and the tribes from Apocalypto will take control over the world, resurrecting corpse after corpse and enslaving mankind using Adolf Hitler's toothbrush. The Chickens won't cross the road anymore, everyone will be able to speak in Braille and Hieroglyphs, the Mayans will summon King Kong to end the Alien colonization of the moon using tampons.

Earth XII to be exactly, assuming the merging with the 'real' world is enough of a change to start the next stage

Kaya got a reaction from ignnus in Explanation for Fang's jailing
[cquote]
Fang Archbane's punishment comes as a result of multiple infractions
whilst he was the TK leader. When he was initially promoted, he stated
that he knew the rules Mur had installed for the TKs, which we
reissued to him anyway so that they were clear. He was told several
times not to do certain things, but he disregarded the rules we laid
out and did them anyway.
He was told NEVER to use the treasury for personal items, and we even
warned him that if he put any of his belongings (creatures, items
etc.) inside, those would then be considered TK stock. He used the
treasury to store 13 creatures, once they were stored he unlocked the
Full Glow achievement and then took the creatures back out. For this
we have decided to null his achievement and we have taken 3 creatures
from him - those creatures have been stored where they belong: in the
treasury. It should be noted that after the event, when questioned
regarding this, he claimed he was testing whether or not he could get
the Full Glow achievement if he deposited all of his non-maxed
creatures into the treasury, we considered this an invalid reasoning
for his actions.
He awarded 1 WP directly to Seigheart for the Pumpkin Carving Contest
although it was never announced that the TKs would sponsor the quest
with the WP. When asked, he said he awarded the WP because ZenTao
asked him. ZenTao's reason was that the anonymous sponsor was unable
to award the WP so he turned to TKs.
Fang Archbane also awarded ZenTao a WP for the Colourful Skulls
contest although samon and phantasm (Caretakers alliance) announced
that they would be sponsoring the quest with the WP. The stated reason
for this action was that ZenTao wanted to use the WP to get out of
skill damage and couldn't wait for samon. This last action took place
after Fang had resigned as TK Leader.
As per the rules, a TK should never (except when asked by Mur/Council
or for forum posts/threads) directly award a WP but rather codes for
them. Fang ignored this rule and has recently activated all the codes
we have provided him. Except for the 2 used codes, we have now
invalidated them.
For this we have chosen to jail him for 1 week.
There have been additional mistakes we have dealt with whilst working
with Fang, but we have chosen to disregard them for now.

Miq, if you did not wish to vote for yourself, how does that encourage anyone else to? Indeed everyone should vote, and it makes sense (to me, at least) if you're going for a position that you would vote for yourself.

In some cultures it's common courtesy not to vote for yourself (unless you're something like running for president).

Kaya reacted to Ivorak in Vote for the new head of Treasure Keepers
I vote ZenTao.
I think all of the candidates discussed would be capable, but ZenTao has put in the time, has proven reliable and levelheaded, and is knowledgeable about all relevant matters. I see no need for someone from outside the organization to take over (Fang's poor leadership should not reflect upon his underlings.), but I do feel that having someone newer to the realm (but old enough to be well experienced) in a position of power as a good thing. And I think ZenTao is due credit for sticking it out through the tough times.

Zentao
When she contacted me in the past over rewards I never had anything to complain about. She delivered things fast and seemed happy to do her job as a TK member. I think she can handle it
-
Kaya reacted to Pipstickz in Vote for the new head of Treasure Keepers
Honestly, I expect little change either way it goes, as there is little reason to change an operational system. Whether Zentao or Lightsage (as we seem to have developed a two-party system, sorry other candidates) wins, the TKs will still sponsor quests and do everything they're supposed to. Zentao didn't put herself forward until she was poked and prodded, perhaps this could foreshadow similar indecision in the future, but it's a problem to work through if she does win. Lightsage looks like change and that's great and all, but change isn't what the TKs need, it's stability with a calm head who actually listens. Technical knowledge, market knowledge, personally knowing people, these all sound good on paper, but have little to do with TKs in practice. A month old player could run the TKs with a little guidance and would probably do a better job of it than anybody has in the past.
So, to sum it up, I actually had to think about it for about an hour while editing and re-writing this post, and I actually managed to convince myself to change my vote. I vote Zentao because the reasons for voting Lightsage don't make sense to me unless I ignore my brain, while the possibility of a leader who won't say "I'm not changing my mind unless Mur/Council tells me to", and one who already knows how TKs works, is too good to pass up.
-
Kaya reacted to phantasm in Vote for the new head of Treasure Keepers
I vote for Zen as well.
Lightsage definitely has more experience with MD itself. Zen however has stuck with the TKs through a lot of rough times so far and still managed to produce a respectable character in the alliance. I believe it is best to let one who has already put alot of time in the TK's in before letting someone outside of it take over.

Kaya reacted to biermann in Quest: Draw your perception of Tom Pouce
Ok, so for me, Tom Pouce instantly reminds me of a dutch pastry. It's delicious. ANd your face tends to end up covered in whipped cream.
It also reminded me of Tom Poes (Tom Cat) whom is a comic book character from my youth. He and a bear, Olivier O Bommel find a little dragon. But then things go bad and the sweet dragon turns into a vicious beast! But fear not, in the end it all ends well.
Anyways, from there on I just scribbled, followed instincts.
