Hello, musicians and wanna-be stars! We have a contest with guaranteed wins (if you're not terrible, that is). Play a rl instrument and the TKs are going to make sure you get your instrument as an in-game item! Just post you vids here - or the link to where you posted it - and make sure we can see your playername and MD in the video. If you also combine it with an MD themed text, you could get a WP (if you're not terrible, that is). So get your harmonica, trumpet, guitar, cello, ukulele, drum, harp or WHATEVER and play it so we can all see...I mean, hear...Deadline : end of this month Good luck!

Re-applying for Wind Sanctuary Tool Legislator. If I see someone hoarding the buckets, I will let them carry the extra ones on their heads! (little chance of using the tool atm, but I prefer to have it ready when abuse happens) Using this chance to say that if people want water, they can get it from dowsers. When I used to do trades with Loreroot, a bunch of lorerootians also stacked some dozins or more, so if lands wish for water, we could set up a trade route. (contact me) Also, some people can also ask for the special buckets, we might just lend them for free
-
(nobody can become mp6 atm anyway, but) weren't you an mp7, fang? why 'step down'?

this looks like a topic pertaining to the trade forum, no? as long as it's in the general forum, people can reply and give opinions on it also, why shouldn't people post their desire to buy these vouchers in the topic?

colored crits turned into fine pigment + heat = dye + paper = colored paper (the current way of getting colored paper might be better, it's just an idea)

I thought research is like that...besides, to get magnificence you need a magnifying glass, right?

I don't think I have the concept of 'creatures in MD' clear. Story mode would tell you those creatures are alive, need to be bound to your spirit and then you can use them in combat. Thus, they are not summoned, but persuaded through economical means. Then, I guess something changed, as recruiting places were described places where it would be easier for the summoner to get his creatures (that implies creatures are summoned). Those creatures are called out/back and used, either as they are or refined/cultivated; they can also be sacrificed. Now, we are at the point where you actually build/produce/create/shape creatures. Now, I forgot everything about Molima, but as for the shmsh, it's a cool build-up. I have seen only the first level (in a guide), but there are such lifeforms irl that go into hibernation and awake when the environment allows life to thrive. That larva makes me think of tardigraves, really, and the rainwater being used to open the fenth makes sense (as rainwater can only exist in a viable environment). Aramor fenths use resources and a reality shard, which is the substitute for something resources cannot ever replace. The resources used can give you an idea about the character of the creature, but in themselves do not grant that spark of life/reality. What does this transition mean for the concept of creatures? I don't see we shape life as some kind of god, instead we get a spark of life into our possession that we use, so it's not such a big difference in the end? What do you think?

I remember Mallos gave me a silver coin while I was at the PC, but I had no idea if it was valuable or not. Also, I got a message from Mya Celestia saying I can always ask for help from her, so I thought 'Oh, so there are people playing this game' (because when I got out of story mode and moved around nobody talked, people were idle). Then I met two people training at MDP, Asthir and Justin Case and attacked someone and got 'please don't destroy our non-dmg rituals'. What the heck are non damage rituals??

I'm hijacking this topic, everybody freeze! This idea is kinda just a waste of time, but it sounds fun, so I'm sharing it (in spoilers, for those who don't want to bother):
-
maybe only creature fenths. aramor fenths especially (though it's hard to get those)

dst is like Maiev Shadowstrong (or whatever the name) from war3 wait, does that make Nava Illidan? Neah, it's too little of an offense for that. as for aiding the (voice of) dead, instead of awarding WPs, you can get yourself killed and roleplay your inner zombie. which i never knew how to do, I wonder is just dying will do the trick

Well, there's nothing like a player with a will and purpose to make combat easier (and so much harderat the same time). I guess bashing puppets who lost that will is not ok...after all, combat is a clash of wills, and a learning experience (opposed to learning from looking at yourself). Maybe that's the whole purpose of them - to see that there's judt this much to learn from a shell. Been bothered by something, though: i heard there' some connection between empty aramors and shades...just like shades in NC maintaon the balance, so do aramors. But, i think tiny men were brought out to balance a reality which the empty aramors created in GG. So, empty aramors _can_ be 'freed'. Or not?
-
I'm not the one to start such topics, but maybe this way I can send mindwaves to those two.. Happy birthday, good health and strength to you! and come back to MB

sounds like a lot of crazy stuff can happen i guess i underestimate pranksters in MD. i thought creating a totem is hard enough, not to mention the aramor's crits would need constant renewal. hmm, ok, point taken
-
(It's not fun being told its not possible) But, there's a question - were the empty aramors born with the crits, did they acquire them or did they receive them? Because if its the last, then there is a possibility edit: although devoid of will and purpose, they still seem to manifest a desire to advance (I'm saying it because they flock to MP3s, who are next in line after mp2); they also feel some sort of fear and have maybe some memory (since they run away from people who beat them up). Their use of creatures must be instinctive, so maybe giving them a totem might work...
-
Well, here's what I learned from reading two huge posts: Empty aramors seem to clut around mp3s, the next stage of growth...like they're attracted to that. Thay also lose the creatures that are killed in battle, which makes one think they can't control them at all. Abra said it doesn't understand the nature of aramors (the creatures), so I assume...empty aramors can be given creatures, without being awakened!! I read that some people wanted to help them get out of GG, awaken them etc...What I want is to give them creatures once they are empty. The reason is simple: to make them continue being the useful training dummys they are. I realize that sounds like an offense to the people with noble goals, but until you get a solution to 'free' the aramors...shove it. Besides, I just want to use them, I'm not harming anything. So...anyone have an idea as to how such a feat can be accomplished? I was never interested in this, so I don't have much knowledge about it, which means I'm willing to listen to ANY idea. Besides, with GG being empty and all, all experiments are not going to cause damage to anyone (except if you actually awaken the aramors and they develop hate towards us...but they'd have to learn hate, and then have their hate aimed at us - little chance of that).

tags aren't temporary, to be applied only to this time. i still believe it should be something only warriors should go for, with some sacrifices in mind. for example, although it's easy at beginning, I didn't get the Full glow achievement when I started, and that meant that one year later, I had to sacc most of my crits and max some to get it. This is the kind of thing I was thinking of, not just grinding. i'm not against X battles in a period of time, X stats in a period of time. It IS a tag I would like, but it is also a tag I *could* get. Which makes it less valuable, since I am not one of those people who play MD for the duels. I suck at combat, and I think real brawlers should get tags they can be proud of. that having been said, there's no problem in a light(er) version of battle tags. It's a good motive to start some trouble (i mean fighting), since the grinding has created some monsters already and some of the thrill disappeared.
-
i was thinking of more radical challenges, though, but I think only the people who are good with battles can come up with (and it would also be hard to code, if not impossible)...quick examples of no-so-good-ideas: getting 1000 victories with a ritual containing 3 anivv creatures getting 1000 wins with a ritual containing 1 ts and 1 up against rituals wtih freeze x battles won in a period of time works well, but it's not a tag only brawlers can achieve...but acquiring it might mean you're so-so in battle, so it's cool too
-
Heat jars are cool, but how about this (attachement) ? The pattern is nice (the golden angle is there, among other stuff). I can think of a number of ways to use something so interesting. do you like it? what do you think it can be used for?
-
(catchy title, huh) Hey, I was thinking that in MD there are those who simply fight. They did, do and will brawl, because this is what they like doing in MD; since it does require a decent amount of intellectual effort, they can be proud of being brawlers. There are the stats, there are the achievements (combo fighter, above money..), but how about a tag dispatcher with a couple fighting tags/titles? I think these don't even need further plans, as is the case with the tags obtainable in LR, since they are titles for those who want and like to brawl. Those tags shouldn't be easy to obtain by someone, instead, they should require results that only a battlehead would go for. I don't know what those might be, I could think of something if you like the idea, more or less. how about it?

(I don't bash perma MP3s. Actually, I like the fact that you have the possibility to be just that.) I'm not backing my idea 100%, that's why I wanted to hear some opinions. And it seems that (since my idea is a minor fix) you folks want a solution, not a fix
-
Well, the general idea is that if one finds a sparring partner, it's more or less fine, in that it can get enough heat and advance to mp4, where he can find the wanted balance. My problem with that is 1) there's no room for experimenting at mp3 and 2) you're too dependant on your training partner. Perma mp3s have it easy. They can just prey on the new people and that's enough to maintain their wanted balance. it would be easy to give new players a certain amount of Honor, but the shop items ask for Honor points to ensure they are gained and that means gain by fight (that could be an argument against my idea, but my idea is to 'help' people fight with less constraints, not give enough Honor points to buy all items in the shop); the last two points mean you get to fight without considering your Honor points at all, so it kinda defeats the purpose of the Honor system. you could also create an npc that can get (skilled) players wins, just as it is super easy to get losses with the LR guardians, but this is makes it too easy unless done in some creative way... what can i say...it's more about how you feel about a small change, since big ones can create endless debates thanks for the thoughts, mago

I'd like to see your opinion on this, so here it goes... Currently, a new player finds it hard to deal with the honor system and get points. If he/she starts on the new island, it takes some days to get to the mainland, during which theres no way to get honor (theres little chance of fighting someone there). Some beginner shop items require honor and there's no way to get it. But then you reach the mainland and in theory you can get it, only that it depends much on the mp3s you fight. You must make it so you dont lose honor when attacking, so first you need to have the same win/loss ratio and then train crits and sacrifice them for honor points. This can be a bit frustrating because you cant really experiment with your rituals as much as you like, and furthermore you become quite dependant on your partner. Now, MD is not meant to be easy, but at the same time it doesnt have to frustrate you. True, at mp3 its not like you can experiment much, but at the very begining you are being forced to do things one way only (match your partner, sacc crits for honor). True, one must advance, this frustration can lead up to ....determination, maybe. All in all, its about perception - and this is why i want to ask you whether you think a small change is in order or not. I dont think the overall experience is so bad, but it could be improved a little. What i thought about is a shop item (lets call it The Aramor's sacrifice), in quantity of 2 (or4) that gives one a (maybe variable) number of honor points. This, ti boost/ speed up things a little for the new player, who could use the boost for some shop items or to not worry when attacking an opponent that gives a little negative honor. It's not like it makes a major difference - its not a "cheat". All players, regardless the mindpower, have to watch their honor, so there's no need to 'spare' new players - its simply a little boost. Is it necessary/useful ? What do you think?
