MD needs a disposable razor.

The idea off a disposable razor is that you buy a handle + blades. After time the blades become blunt and you need to throw them away and purchase more blades. The handle is normally a one off purchase and for the majority of companies its a loss leader (meaning they sell it for cheaper than they buy it for). The blades are the item that the user keeps coming back to buy. The item isnt needed, you can easily get by without shaving your face, but most people do. Its also a futile attempt, since hair grows and you will need to shave again.
 
The idea of having a disposable razor is a product that the consumer keeps coming back and buying, because they feel they need to, without it actually doing anything useful in the long run at all. Items in the temporary shop do this some way but from discussions i have had most people dont use them/only use one to get to the other items in that branch.

Hmm..you have a point there Princ. I concentrated on neg  votes and forgot all about positive ones.
 
Also, there is an issue here which back then Chewett could not counter and that might have a solution through those "Like" buttons: private forums. In those forums, only "friends"* have access and they massively abused the system by pos repping each other (*cough* yes, Loreroot, you are my main target in here :D) so they show up as Knights/Jedies (no idea what's the plural) through fake inflated rep.
 
@Ivorak: you don't post too much either and you're not one of the players to cause controversies. You usually take the side of the majority. So yeah, it's natural that you don't get too many negs.

I used to have a lot of positive rep. I went to major negative and now I'm positive again.
And how are you so sure about this:
Have you seen the votes? Do you have any proof to sustain your affirmation?
 
I want the +/- back as well. It's the first feeback a player receives to his ideas.
 
Also, as an example: fenrir. He has the worst reputation even. BUT he has no neg repps to his "Leashes" topic opened few days ago. Same with fang (he even has some positives).
 
So no, it's not a conspiracy.


Forgot: if the votes will not be anonymous  we will definitely have less neg reps but we'll also have not so accurate results (because some will refrain from clicking the buttons - we have too many cowards in this game who prefer to do/say things behind someone's back rather than confront him/her). So I haven't made up my mind about being able to see who voted.

So whether or not negative votes remain, which I'm a bit for but rather don't mind either way, I think we should be able to tell how many up-votes a particular post has received. Also, I don't think being able to see who has voted on what is a bad idea.

I am for kicking out neg rep, or at least, making neg rep clickers transparent.

Hey buddies,
I think the majority heard of me one way or another already, so i'll skip the introduction.

I've recently been granted the ability to give out Drach Melodic Charms, the item that allows you to take something from the Drachorn Lair. That includes, but isn't limited to, Drachorns.
I'm in the lucky position to work with very little restrictions on my role, i can basically give out charms as i see fit. One thing that won't happen is that one gets sold by me, and i hope you all understand that any attempts to get one in exchange for... well, whatever you think i might want, i guess, will be ignored. I trust that good old dst will have an eye on me, too.

I will create as many quests as my schedule allows myself, i aim for one every two months. I'll also try to sponsor quests from other people if they look promising, and some will be granted to (relatively young) people who put in their efforts to make MD a better place in general.

Specially for that last point, i also request help from the people out there. If you happen to play a quest, a game, or anything else that you found particularly well made and entertaining, let me know. I won't have the time needed to try everything myself, but it'd be a shame if something great went unrewarded.

Summary: Don't try to get drachs from me, you won't succeed, and if somebody makes something happen that you particularly like, let me know. I still read everything on the forum, if you just give a quest a thumbs up, i'll also notice.

The point, I believe, is that you're really supposed to take the role of ONE character and stick with it, baggage and history and all. If you do a reset, or do experiments, or take another role for any reason, etc. you must keep the roles absolutely isolated from one another. You're not supposed to use any sort of unintended aspects of the computer system, ie stepping outside the game, to influence the game.

That said, there are a billion fuzzy grey situations that arise, and many people push the limits and find new ways to raise questions. If you find a new one, you'll become notorious, but not necessarily automatically banned. Depends more on how you handle it (report it or try to exploit it) more than the fact of your discovery. Help fix a loophole and you may get rewarded.

The idea is to not have too many NPC's that players depend on them, they should be fighting real players.

Idea of a permanent implemented "Quest" or Contest dealing with the idea of how the people see the lands of MD in relationship to music (style or genre) and how a musical "picture" of each land is slowly shaping over time. Each turn should be about 2 months (with a pause of 1 months in between) ongoing because of the variety of decisions, taste and research which every participant will need to succeed.

The bigger idea is that you need to explore everything of MD which you have access too. For each turn of 2 months you will have to go to one announced land and find the most fitting "song" (from your point of taste) for every scene in this land - always in mind in which land you´re. Important is to get the mood of the scene, which includes for example the possible history (could be your personal history too) the scene has.

Aim of this quest?

Get into touch with all lands and scene of MD mixed with "the" or "your" history of each land/scene and give the whole realm a musical picture formed by the inhabitants them selfs.

What do we need?

A room where the favorite (most voted) songs for each scene are visible like a musical library.

I would like to do this - working with others together. Please contact me through forum PM if you have interest to work on this.
All constructive ideas which form this quest into a much better experience as it is now are most welcome .

There are only two things I want that come to mind.

No man's land citizenship.

An item with 1 use that can give No man's land citizenship.

As for the reasons. NML is the only land I think I would fit in and I would love to be
an actual citizen.The item would be to provide another person a chance for NML
citizenship.
