1. I will put up appropriate threads as the time comes round. I have just put up the schedule of; Schedule Suggestions (This thread) will be open for 6 days, till 1st Dec, at which point; Nominations will open on 2nd, will also last 6 days, ending 7th Dec, then; Voting, starting 8th Dec, again for 7 days, ending 14th Dec; Awards Ceremony will then take place on Monday 17th Dec (TBC) If there are any comments regarding this, please state them here.
2. Yeah, I'd say more end of Jan or something if you wanted to make it open to all.
3. Says /21 players on the vote screen.... Aside from that bit about them not logging in (figured sys would count them as logged in, evidently not), they don't have any land loyalty to count.
4. So what should the minimum number of nominees be for a category to go ahead?
5. Really? No comments at all on the structure of the Awards or how it's done this year?
6. Indeed, tomorrow or Sunday at the latest. I wanted to make sure there was time to discuss the way categories are done, prior to picking which ones players want this year.
7. Lightsage has been chosen to help with this year's awards. Many thanks to those who put themselves forward to help
8. Information relating to how the awards will run as it currently stands; - There will be a maximum of 15 categories. - The previous categories will be listed in a thread, and players can then argue for different ones to be added/removed - if players agree, then it will be so. - Certain categories have relevant restrictions on them, these can be changed/created/removed, but only prior to nominations opening. - There will be 3 people counting votes and organising this. These people will not be able to be nominated, however they are able to vote. - You may not nominate those who belong to the same land as yourself (this not only means hard-coded, but also those people considered part of certain lands). "This is an MD awards event, if a person deserves one of the awards, it is on the global level, not on local level, however capable the person is, which justifies the ban of the land nominations , possibly votes too". - There will be a maximum of 5 players nominated for each category. Players are added/removed from the nominated by popular consensus. Organisers (and Mur) are allowed to add whoever they think appropriate to the lists prior to the nominations closing, if there are less than 5 names in the category at this point, we reserve the right to add appropriate names up to the total. - Past winners will be allowed to be nominated again, however, if there are more than 5 names nominated when it closes, those will be the first removed. - Mur cannot be nominated (sorry Mur), and Rendril cannot be nominated for Top Techy (or another award along the same lines). - Previous Fossil (or a similar award if that does not exist this year) winners, cannot win again. - You may only nominate one person per category. If you nominate multiple people, neither will be added. - You may not nominate yourself, or another account you play. - No editing posts in the nomination thread - purely because I'll potentially get confused. - We will use the in game voting system. - There's no restriction on voting for those of the same land. - There will be no restriction on the amount of voters, there will however be a limited timeframe to vote in - this will be more than a day, but the length is undefined until a schedule is decided upon. - You do not have to vote in each category (though it's preferable). - If you vote for yourself in anything, all your votes will be discounted. - If players that have voted are detected as alts of each other, all associated votes will be discounted. (If you have multiple accounts, you're fine, but only vote once per person please). - Players under 20 AD will be unable to vote. - These players and any accounts that are associated with them since, are ineligible to vote. I can't think of any other particular details currently, please ask if you think I've missed anything (in addition to discussing various points). If you are against any aspect with how it's set to run, please raise it and suggest alternatives.
9. Kinda left this late to kick off again, but timings seemed to work well last year, so I would judge there'll be no issues with using the same timeframes. This topic, like last year, will be open for "24h" - that is to say some point after 24h where I feel the discussion may have stopped offering time critical input - it will not be closed though, and so discussions are welcome to continue after that. The feedback from last year, in summary; - Be better organised - will try. - If the Rookie award goes ahead this year, then extend the registration date back to June/October 2011 for nominations. If they were nominated previously, they would still be ineligible. - Have two separate awards for Rookie, one for Jan-June, and another for Jul-Dec (or such). - No limit to amount of nominations - I would note that this would distribute the votes wider and it would be harder to achieve a clear winner, I have suggested something to council which would allow this, and not damage the clarity of winning, however it is unfortunately unlikely to happen for this year (it was a recent email to them). Reduce amount of nominations via forum poll, prior to actual voting. - No restrictions on who can nominate who - there was previously a restriction that didn't allow players to nominate those of their own land. This will still apply unless the consensus is against it. For most things on the list, there are arguments in favour and against the ideas, please read the linked topic at the top of the list to read thoroughly and then continue the discussion here. Last year's 24h discussion thread can be found here - there may be some points there that players want to discuss again. All previous MD Award threads can be found via the topic-tagging system under "MD Awards" if you don't know how to get to that, look just below the title of the thread and click on the words below the Started by.. line.
10. Seriously though, Team Brit, it's a thing, you qualify.
11.
ritual
wicca
12. Welcome and merriment to you When you start playing be sure to be open to what's around you, and enjoy yourself with the game
13. Join Team Brit! That is all. oh, actually should say welcome and that. If you need any help with stuffs, let me know.
14. I've hidden a number of posts which were offtopic and mostly irrelevant to be on the forum - just in case it's wondered why it's basically halved in size.
15. I ~believe~ he refers to the rather pointless citizenship tab we have to the right hand of the interface (where mood panel etc are). How it might be a good idea to list all the active citizens of your land there.
16. What if it stops after it's fourth upgrade? I mean, granted it's a massive time to wait to get an achievement, but still
17. Pretty sure No one posted that, not dst - unless my eyes are mucked up. You brought my name up, briefly, so I want to briefly deny what you said and after that any further discussion you wish about it can be through PM if you wish (to save it being offtopic, you're welcome to open a new thread instead if you want).
(i.e. grido, the person who character assassinated me with the whole LHO fiasco a while back and STILL hasn't made reparations, as Mur told him to).
I do believe I made a number of apologies regarding how I publicised that incident, there is little else I can think of to do to make reparations, if you can think of any please let me know (as I have asked of you a few times before as well). The reason for demoting you from LHO was very valid, as was the reason for the year long 'sentence' (for lack of a better word to mind) of not being allowed to be an LHO again - these things will not be altered. I figured I'd actually reply to the topic at hand whilst I'm at it - but all in all I agree with what Burns has said in previous posts.
Every single dream I've cast in the past few months has been spied on. It doesn't matter where I am or how 'secretive' I am about it. Now, dst's admin. role gives her the tools to see when a dream happens and who is involved, so she is able to know exactly who/when to cast it on, but it is my understanding that this tool is not to be used to influence in-game play. Now, if it were an occasional 'visit' or eavesdrop from an outside party, sure, I wouldn't give a damn. But it's every time. When I developed this role with Mur it was crystal clear that only with an inordinate amount of effort could someone decipher or intrude on dreams from the 'outside' of the dreamers mind or the dream weaver. This is important symbolically, which I could rant on for hours about (i.e. dream shadows), and practically - because once the crazy method I use to respond to answers to any of my riddles (which I spend stupid amounts of my limited time creating) 'leaks out' - then what I do becomes predictable and spoiled for other players. If it were players without admin tools involved, then, great, I would say they figured out how to do something inordinate. I would praise them. But, it is rigged because of how admin tools are coming into play and negatively influencing RP in the realm.
How have dst's actions influenced the gameplay? OK, so you're annoyed she's using earfocus on the dreams, that's fair enough, but you mention about the methods you reply "leaking out" - does this actually happen? If it doesn't, and it's just dst that knows, then where's the issue? I gotta figure, given your history, you're unlikely to dream her for a riddle.
18.
You also get spells when you become a protector (MP6) or LHO. Oh, and one more thing - part of the game is figuring out the rules. And then they change - which is also part of the game. Take it as a (fun) challenge, and remember that the hardcoded documentation is very, very obsolete -- not to be trusted.
In some cases I redid the hardcoded docs, so not so obsolete, however which ones I did I helpfully can't remember. If there's any massively obsolete ones, point me at them please.
19. Sorry, didn't see No one's - 6/10
20. dunno what your complaint is Eagle, but you need all your crits to be maxed, not just 12. I can't imagine that's intentional Peace, but I don't know why it would count them particularly - I take it you have 7 crits in bestiary, with 6 maxed then? There's also definitely a bug where morphed creatures do not count as maxed, and so block this achievement.
21. So, who's it gonna be, Obama or Romney?

22. There's Molquert, people with reviving items, and if neither are workable or fast enough, then you could always ask to be teleported to said "specific space" idk if you were joking or being serious about the death immunity thing, but I'm completely against anyone being immune from it - a harder time, maybe, but not immune.
23.
Brain problems
Neurosis
24. Also, I find the trigger box is more of an indication of what is going on in the realm, rather than an exact and clear listing. Name cast on might be cool, but no more please.
25. @Zen, do you mean Tormented Soul? That's the b/w one, Soulweaver would be the coloured one. Not trying to interfere with the rewards, just wanted to clarify.
