  1. its just a thought, what about a closed group HC to run periodicaly and where only those with hc medals can participate. The reward will be a treasure put together by the participants themselves, one thing each. It could be integrated same as the current HC and keep all others out of it, maybe a different color/style for the heads icon. Its much work to do to make it real, and i could remove the heads ability from all rpcs for this to prevent complicated checks and unexpected situations, but what do you think? ... a level II HC maybe?
  2. well its on, i finished over 50% of the interface, some things will start to be visible allready, like the extra space on the wishpoints slots, and probable some more things on the player detail panels. I tested first achievement and everything works fine, i can't wait to see them working because i am a big achievements fan myself Artworks are on their way for the 30 achievements sugestions i listed allready but of course there will be more and the list will keep growing. Also other things will get influenced by this new feaure, for example wishes that allow you to unlock achievements for others etc. Here is the current FAQ for achievements and trophies http://magicduel.com/pages/help.achievementsinfo.php it will probably get updated later with more info if needed. about 25% of the work left to do will be to create areas within the real where you can unlock some of the achievements (unlock does not mean achive them, read the FAQ), something similar with the document dispatch in the archives next news will be on the announcements page *jumping around happy*

  4. that veteran medal will be given based on id, one time, something like 1-10k id range is one rank, 10k - 50k an other, 50-100k, 100-200k ....something like that. Anyway, your id combined with your active days shows what type of veteran you are

I should start by mentioning that i am not insane, i know how many things still need to be done, fixed, etc, i know i allready started other new features (like the other combat system) that i never finished, or the bot, or the factions, or mp7, or fixing tokens, or the translator, or the torch competition rewarding system or many more .... but without playing around with new features, i cant exist .. i dont have fun in md without doing this so .. LET ME PLAY So, achievemtns page, new feature in work (i promise i'll work on it only after i do a bit on the pending stuff each day ) Main ideea: a section within the interface with medal looking items, that will activate one item when you fullfill certain requirements. Expansion ideea: probably allready implemented from the start, the ability to create custom achievements so that they can assigned to individuals (rpcs, wishshop, side quests etc). An other thing, "on demand" achievements, for example you are assigned a task that will give you a specific achievement, untill you are assigned that task you will never know that achievement medal existed. Achievemtents will be mainly granted by a system check based on some rules, but it could be also a custom rpc ability, for example for achievemtnts that involve communication or trading skills, and a human to decide who gets the medal. Tehnical issues: It will be very server intensive to constantly check achievements especialy if i plan to make them so highly configurable and personalizable. Thats why, they will be checked only on request by clicking a "check" button under each pending/disabled medal (let me know how it sounds or if you have better ideas) Artworks: i don't have them right now but they wont be a problem once i decide the main list. They will be colored probably and looking sort of alliance logos but with a medal-like feeling. Logic: Here i need your help. (thinking on more, keep writing suggestions in a clear form pls) both very easy to achieve things and dificult things Interface: i could splitt up the page in dificulty levels or just let a huge achievements page scroll, both sound fine to me....so let me know your clear list, based on the things you think they could be possible to count/masure/detect in the current system (as much as you know it) On the character detail panel when clicking an ohter player, i think there can be a small sign to show that when clicked it will open on the entire panel a list of achievement ICONS

  7. docs are kept in a db not as files and there is a limit on how big they can be. That limit wont change because it could turn into a major security risk. Its huge as it is anyway. What i can do is give you a private space on mdrpc.com to upload your files as FILES and link to them from your papers. mdrpc.com is not only for rpcs but for all that realy need it and have the required reputation so that i can trust them enough, and i think you do.
  8. so .. bugs: - tokens are still at 100% when ritual set in defence is 100% (instead of beeing 0%) - some tokens still give huge bonuses making them usable instead of personal stats. first one will be fixed. For the second one i need a token list with the tokens causing issues, and i also need 3 profile samples of what you all agree to be: - "normal" stats - "high/good" stats - "huge" stats so that i make sure what i consider to be good stats is also what you do.

  12. I have no ideea why this is happening but because its not a constant issue i wont try to discover what is going on right now. I suspect there is a larger issue with the chat, if so i will find out what it is after i gather more info on it. Does the "classic" refresh work? There is a few minutes delay between the times when a character changes locations, most of the time you do not notice it but sometimes you could be marked as beeing on the map even if you are in a dream or alliance chat. Alliance chat and dreams are tehnicaly a different location and you are simultaneosly in two places to be able to chat in alliance.
  13. i don't see a problem here. Its the way it was supposed to be. You should be fully "clean" once you get reset back to your home location or gazebo, then you should be able to buy and recruit creatures.
  14. It should be fixed now. There was somehow a problem with the alts that they didn't record the collection id properly. I still don't know why that happened but i could not find any problems when i tested. I suppose the problem was fixed before and it was an isolated issue back then only. Please let me know if you experience similar issues from now on. Now, the bugged docs in your K collection are still bugged,but, you just have to leave the collection with each one and then join back in and they will be allright. I think there is just one or two, but you know who else is invisible there. The 'abandon' button will now work also for the bugged accounts.

Team leader will have access to translations admin and will centralise the work of the others. ready when you are.

  18. By GO game i mean a game that uses some kind of objects for the main play (not as counters) and cards as secondary game tools. For example it could use two types of stones to play (like black and white or gold and black) and a set of cards or disks to count things such as "lands" ,"abilities" or whatever other things there could be.

  21. Hi, i am sure there are lots and lots of awsome ideas about how to do a card game related somehow to MD. The problem is that all the card games i see are almost the same and all are trying to copy Magic the Gathering initial concept, one way or an other. An other game with cards is not what i have in mind. Even if its posible to create it in a tottaly different way than current card games, there are so many card games that i want to avoid this. I have other type of game in mind, something mixed between cards and something with tiles like GO game. The concept presented on that page is only the core logic, and i stoped it for a very long time because i had no time to continue it and the player feedback was low. If you have an ideea out of the ordinary, i am interested to hear... but an other card game is way to commercial ideea for now and i am not interested in it. An other possible continuation of MD in an offline environment is the MP8 level, consisting in a real world quest. The "offline" md game could be a set of rules for that stage and instructions on how to setup such a thing, because i do have some awsome tips and tricks that could help anyone setup a good RL quest / treasure hunt. I am not in a hurry with any of these ideas, for now the "black letters" are the one step that follows in the offline direction, and after that i will see if all the things could summ up together into somehting or not, but i am not expanding MD into a cardgame just to make it bigger or to be like all the others.

  23. For the sake of fantasy... no, the energy consumption wouldn't be high at all. The only real problem is creating an isolator for gravity, after that, its simple The isolator i believe it can be inside a highly ionized field, to ionize a few cubic centimeters of air you need the power of a microwave oven, focused by a parabolic dish made of metal, same principle as a sattelite dish. There might be other ways, but still something with electric energy acting as a shield. (Ofcourse you would need also some blue LEDs and a startrek type sound to make it look like a hightech warp engine A coil shaped in such way that is not forcing a magnetic field in any direction, will still cause a bipolar magnetic field but its direction, or shape, will be free from the actual coil. Take for example a toroid, or create a normal coil arround a feric core and then unite N with S. The new N and S will be perpendicular on the previous formed field lines, but will have some unusual properties. A speheric electromagnet with the coil placed in such way that it will cover all angles in equal proportions, will cause a magnetic field very sensitive to any outside influence, and the ionized space inside it will act as a gravity shield canceling all outside influence. In the worse case the device will only cause a globular lightning , and thats enormous fun too )) looking forward for more ideas, maybe some can find documentations related to this? I am sure having lots of fun here

I have no clue where to post this , it could be the archives, but i want to see replyes, so its the forum .. but i can't find the right section for it .. so if anyone knows better where it should go , please move it ------- What is SF (Science-Fiction), what is Fantasy? ... I think it is an outburst of ideeas and theories that have a solid base but the continuation is shaped in a direction that is not strictly connected to that base. Its relaxing, fun, creative, to set your mind free and imagine things in the way you would like them to be. As long as you realise that the contact with "reality" is officialy lost while thinking to fantasy stories, it OK. You should not "lose" it and start to believe that intentionaly flawed ideeas are the real ones. During my (short) life so far, i imagined things that could be possible, but most of all are interesting to think of. Such theories i hold for myself and only from time to time i write so that they can be used as source for improvement and to put some gears inside my mind at work. Why not, maybe one day such a fantasy/SF theory will have all its intentionaly flawed aspects fixed and turn to reality...at least its fun to hope so. [b]The Transposition Traveling Device[/b] [sub](again ..SF/Fantasy theory!!!)[/sub] Each space, regardless how small or big or where it is placed in the universe, has a signature. Imagine space as a web with differently shaped structure lines depending on the position. On a uniform developed spider-web you would know in any moment where a particular fragment is compared to its center, because the spacing of the wires will change in a predicatble way the further you go from its center. In the same way, space is structured in a way that makes it unique in every portion of it. Gravity changes space. In fact Gravity IS altered space, we see the density change in space as gravity. For example if you have two baloons one with high pressure and one with low pressure, and you conect them by a tube, the pressure will ballance. In the same way objects fall down on the ground because space is curved towards the center of the earth, as it is towards any heavy object in space. Three obvious forces change space, one is the Earth, one is the Sun and one is the Gallaxy that both spinn in. Other less obvious forces change it too, but these alone are enough to prove that each single bit of space we get in contact with has a different pattern. My assumption is that space signature works the same way as human/living signatures and that the transposition principle applies here too. If you have one signature of a person imprinted in an object, that object will act as an extension of that persons energy field, meaning that if you effect, sense, change it in any way, the changes will mirror in the "original" person just the same (my base explanation of Voodoo magic). If you could change something (water, self, surroundings) to have the signature of a place, you could sense what is going on in that place and sort of "Be" there with your "spirit" so to say. But..what if this can be applied to a more physical use. The TTD device brings the space signature of the space occupied by an object (note how i said it) to ZERO. In a way manages to isolate all influences given by all gravity modifiers upon that space and brings it to a uniformly ordered structure without any actual signature. It brings ZERO value in the space fingerprint[sub] (see note 1). [/sub] The device is composed of two main modifyers, that could be created so to work in one move actualy (or two, is the same result). The next step is to recreate the signature of an other place and imprint it in the object. It litteraly means to shape the space structure, altered by gravity (or better said seen as soubtle gravity changes), to match the changes in an other place we target. The result of this is that once the space occupied by the object reaches the exact pattern of the other space, it will coexist in both places at the same time (!). The third step and probably the most dificult one is to cancel the onject in the TTD device so that it will exist only in the target location. This can be done also by controlling the zero space signature. Its basicaly a teleportation device as you can see. The mechanical construction of it is also one thing i fancy to imagine, it would require little energy to operate and can by done using electricity but not in the common sense of it. Gravity has as result changes in magnetism. I suspect changes in magnestim/electricity can have the same impact on the object space as the "original" gravity, without interfearing with the space structure (meaning magnetism acts like , but is not changing gravity). Electricity causes magnetism, so in a logical (probably flawed *cough*) chain, if space changes/gravity causes magnetism and electricity changes cause magnetism too, i believe electricity can be used to form similar magnetic patterns that will imprint similar space pattern changes in an object. The precision of this field should not be created "bit by bit" because its probably impossible to recreate the field with such a detail in every space unit of the object. Ah thats it .... i must say i love SF theories I do have plans of the TTD since i was a kid, and i have improved ideeas of how it could be built, but i never had the time (and probably the required insanity) to actualy buy a few kilometers of coil and build a perfectly centered sphere created out of this coil, and change a microwave to focus waves to a single point inside the sphere and ionize the air there splitting electrons from atoms and build plasma for a sec. Of course there is the reception device, that must be able to record the space signature in a place, then feed it to the sphere so that it gets re-created in the plasma field inside it ...and much more..... pfff...like i said, ... i love SF Thank you for reading ------------ [sub]Note 1: Zero can mess any equation. poetically put, if someone manages to control the Zero point within any system, the entire system will obey to it. It takes two infinities to ballance out the zero point, but its an illusion ... imagine the ends of the "number line" to be actualy fixed and not infinite and just zero to be true "nothingness". The infinity will form towards the center not towards the ends, because true zero does not exist. You can lower the numbers as much as you want but they will not vanish. Zero, unlike anything else, i think, is the one thing that can make sense in practice but not in theory. In practice is easy to make something zero, because that something stops to exist, but zero is not "part" of that something. As soon as you manage to create zero, it becomes a gate to anything. Thats why in math, zero can destroy any theory and prove 1=2 or whatever you want. In practice, if i have ZERO apples, i can easyly say i have ZERO gold coins ... both its true [/sub]
