1. Like a lion taking down a wildebeast!

2. Happy belated birthday, Sultan of Sequins!
3. Happy happy birthday!!!
4. Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but Loreroot has a lot more to offer than just trees...so, your argument that: Kamisha hates Bob, Bob is a tree, Loreroot is filled with trees=Kamisha hates Loreroot, is a little lacking. If anything, point out that he doesn't know anything about Loreroot and has no connection with the land...but the Bob thing is wearing thin.
5. Good for you, Kamisha! Who cares if you are unknown or not, big deal. You had the courage to stand up and announce something you knew would be unpopular and most likely ridiculed. While I don't agree with some of your points, and most likely will not vote for you, I applaud you for sticking your neck out.
6.
In this way some of the rpcs that worked for their role and kept it active will have nothing to suffer while those that remained rpcs just for the sake of it will simply vanish.
I agree, the days of RPC fat cats are gone, and there is a good amount of independance in that. Also, a metaphorical muzzle has been removed. Which should be very interesting.
At this point, the power situation in md is this. Individual characters have more freedom. I will not support moderator activities, rule reinforcing, etc. You will have to do it with your own abilities or support the consequences. Don't come to me to complain one or an other player is abusing that and that, take action yourself. But also don't come to me that you were punished for no reason, if that person was able to do it, he can do it. The Land kings will get my support with their abilities and my advice with their decisions. If they can bring order to their land, very well, if not, we shall see. Do not underestimate their power please, i will increase it accordingly to the situation untill i see they can handle any issue on their own.
So, in essence, you are taking away power from moderators, giving it to Kings, an automated system and those with the ability to punish. How can it be that individuals have more freedom, the ability to punish and no backing from yourself, yet, Kings, recieve your support, your advice and a granting of power. I do hope that those Kings will also recieve the full weight of your punishment if they fail.
These are not steps to a more fair MD, but to a more automated MD, while keeping the human decision the main thing.
I fear that MD will become a homogeneous environment, with no influence from people. When the AL was suspended to reduce "interference" I thought, well, doesn't that defeat the purpose of the interactive Adventure Log? How will human decision impact things in an automated system? Through the use of community votes only, or some other mechanism? I like knowing that I can change things in my world, and I hope that remains.
What i know for sure is that everything i have done for , in or about MD was good and according to a main feeling i always had.
I raise questions and criticize because I care. A lot has happened in the past weeks and it seems that a lot of things just fell apart. I look forward to the future of things to come.
7. Necrovion loses an asset in you you, Jester. I was sad to leave the Sentinels, but after the election results, I can see no future for Necrovion that includes me in it. I will always feel a special attachment to Necrovion, Khalazdad and what could have been.
8. Sounds interesting, I'm in.
9. I don't remember the voting ever being closed. Why will the votes not count? People submitted them in good faith, while the polls were open. Or am I mistaken and there was an announcement that no more votes were being accepted.
10. Well, it appears objections to the Kingship have fallen on deaf ears. Very well then. I support Jester for King of Necrovion. He has consistantly demonstrated a love, a deep knowledge of and a perservering committment to Necrovion, the Sentinels and the Dyanasty. (Even though, in my opinion, the Dynasty is nothing more than a honorary title, with little to back it up in terms of accomplishments.) Jester has worked hard to discover knowledge of the shades, the suble workings of Necrovion and its deeper meanings. And he has done it on his own. Jester is the only person fit to lead Necrovion, and while he is a dark horse, he has my vote and my loyalty.
11.
At the last moment it was ordered for Eigger and other allies to join the Sentinels to annihilate the those foolish enough to give an excuse to wipe out their alliances with their hubris.
I joined the Sentinels at the command of no person. I joined of my own volition and for my own reasons.
12. Thank you all so much for the warm birthday wishes, you all make me feel very special!
13.
I am not hasting anyone into picking a King or Queen, these things should have be established by now, i am just giving a crown to those elected. Normaly each land should have a leader, if you consider this to be hasty (@pample) then it means you are thinking of new leaders and not the ones allready existing as i thought. There will always be people against the leadership.
"Normally" and "should" are very loaded words. Necrovion, Golemus and Marind Bell (not to mention neutral lands like the Tribunal and MDA) have undergone massive transformations recently. One cannot say what would normally happen or what should be happening during times of change and growth. While leaders have emerged, in my mind, not many have proved themselves ready, willing or able to take over a central point of power.
What i care about is that ONE person will have the final power. If you wish to rule by a council, fine, but that council should manifest its decisions through the "king" and the king will have last decision and will also be able to disband the council if he so wishes. One central point of power, one personality to shape the land...One king, one judge.
ONE personallity to shape lands?! One king, one judge?! NO. We all shape the land, we are all accountable, we are all responsible.
There will always be people against the leadership.
I am not against leadership. I am against sovereignty and supremacy. A pact of submission, whereby subordinates accept the authority of a master is not an agreement amoung equals. An infallible and all powerful ruler will be the death of every land to which one is appointed. I have had enough with ineffectual leaders. I have had enough of Alliances with no purpose. I have had enough of the title-hungry, egomaniacal power plays. Kings will not solve this. However, I do understand the need for a central pillar. So, I ask this. If Kings will be elected, what will happen to alliance leaders? If Kings will be elected will they answer to their people? If the land feels its King is malignant, what do the "subjects" do? Again, I have no issue with leadership. But I refuse to be held under the soverenity of a King who seeks only power for themselves. I refuse to be subjected to the will of a supreme King (of the land I inhabit or not) who seeks to rule and dictate my behaviors. I care for my land, I care for other lands, I care for MD too much to see it plunge into corruption at the hands of unqualified Kings. If one seeks the title of King, let them act accordingly from now on, prove themselves and make themselves worthy of our trust.
14. You say that Kings cannot be forced. Yet, you are requesting that Necrovions "submit his candidates for the absolute rulership of Necrovion land." That is a HUGE request and I don't know that there are any viable candadiates that emerge as of yet. Shouldn't a King/Queen/Leader emerge naturally over time, rather than have an announcement that leads us to scramble to elect someone due to a hot button issue. Yes, lands need more people to identify passionately with them, but I do not think that electing people hastily is the way to go about it. At least not for Necrovion where there is no clear front runner.
15. I am sorry to hear of your experiences, Prof. I assure you that there are some nice people here. Don't let the bastards get you down!!
16. Hello there, again, Rhah.
17. ...you lied about Adam Riddle? Wow. I have no words for you. Ever again.
18. Well, King Fanu *snickers* what did you do to end up in Jail, eh? Do you deserve punishment?
19. The attacker is the victor in cases of a draw. Also, Ren's post was from more than a year ago.
20. Ok, that is a bit creepy, Thomas.
