MaGoHi reacted to Chewett in A more painful death
Thanks for all of the feedback here, and the numerous PM's and messages I have received on the topic. Its interesting to see the private vs public comments tonal differences too but thats not really important here!
It sounds like people are generally for making death more problematic, assuming that its something you have "signed up for" so anyone in Necrovion might be expected to face harsher penalties than someone who has a kill item.
Many people were however happy with the new revival mechanism and some were concerned that it is "too simple" now. We don't however want to create a culture where being killed is intentionally depriving of someone of the ability to play. So really any "negatives" need to be balanced with a positive in some way (aka farming Necro for resources/etc).
I will have a think about this and things might change (Or they might not!). Thanks all.

I do personally agree their should be more downsides to being a murderer, if only because making death a harsher experience can then be justified.
I don't see anything to stop a King preventing any known murderer entering their land, could even rally their citizens to expel them, I think those heatvein things still work? The fact murder is not a social stigma in MD says enough for me as-is
How would people feel about being able to kill or jail a murderer, through fightcause within a short timeframe after the event, things like that?

MaGoHi reacted to lashtal in A more painful death
Thank you MaGo, you put in better words what I was about to write and saved all of us time.
As for the topic:
Perhaps I wouldn't touch death itself. The only change I'd make is: once you used a revival method, said method is no longer available to you for a period of time.

MaGoHi got a reaction from lashtal in A more painful death
i do not agree, i dont see anyone just wasting a kill for no reason the tools have cooldown and unwarranted is very much subjective, i do see it more as making a point or the occational alliance/land disbanding mechanic that does give the players the power to change the game
i do understand your personal feeling concern but thats also not something i can agree with, death as it is is not even permanent mechanic wise, it is an inconvenience for the killed party and that is the only way to "remove them from your sight" for a longer period than a spell like lock in chaos can, if you can not seperate your feeling for real death to fictional then you have to work on that yourself, i also lost people important to me but i never saw the ingame kill as a real death or felt any of the emotions that real death triggers, its not like it is a daily occurence in the game either
as for the mp3/mp4 idea you had, that is also a bad idea in my opinion, there are more alts than new players and some of them do try to provoke on purpose, now people will most likely not waste a kill on an alt because they are hard to get, but belive me when i say i'd have loved to get rid of one or the other alt that was trying to piss me off that way
principle loss could have positive side effects, considering how the calculations happen for shards
i would hate statloss, so thats probably a reasonable punishment for me, but other people that want to lose stats might think different
Creature stat loss is probably weird to think through, shards or abilities that you used shards to give on the other hand seem easy to think of
i am very much against item loss(rp items, tools etc), resources that you can refarm make more sense to me here, nice resource sink side effect
as Ailith stated
i dont think it it is bad, as i stated above, it is an inconvenience that you can force on another player if you feel like they deserve it and that is enough punishment for the killed person
this is also something i can not fully agree with, its not like we have laws about that within the realm, just because we project our morals and laws into the game becasue thats what we are used to from RL doesnt mean that the realm of MD has to have that
i do think the price of a coin is alright, realistically its like buying a knife to stab someone, if i had a sword like ingame then i wouldnt even need that to kill an annoying cat for example
there are not that many ways to negatively affect other peoples accounts, death, spells the only one that you cant really protect against and i do think they are needed

MaGoHi got a reaction from Else in Proclamation regarding death of Else
thats why i asked here, as i said if its a personal matter then its fine, if it was official as death partol then its using a loophole since no written rules were broken by Lashtal, at the same time its not prohibited to enter NC, meaning you cant be prosecuted for doing that, only for being inside at that very moment

MaGoHi reacted to Ledah in Birthday Cooking Quest!
This is a classic Grasan steak, well done. You will need:
2x Grasan steaks - Don't be stingy 1/2 large tub of aged Jade Garden egg fried rice 2x Winderwild eggs 1x extremely rare herb... an Onion Some Sunfire Oil You will be pleased to know this recipe DOES NOT use entire stacks.
The first step is to gather all your ingredients together and take a picture. This is the most important step, so don't forget to do it. Why? Why not...
Next, you want to place your steak into the frying pan. Heat it, eventually, and let it cook. Turn when you remember to. Whilst this is happening, attempt to dice your Onion and give up, as you are tired, and just cut it up somewhat.
Once the steaks are done, chuck the Onion in with a little Sunfire Oil, let them brown up. Dish up the steak with your leftover rice (that you quested for admirably). Remove the onions once browned, and crack your Winderwild eggs into the pan.
Realise you aren't so much after fried eggs as cooked egg matter. Cook accordingly. Once done, dish up.
BEGIN PREPARATIONS FOR THE SECOND SECRET DISH -
Last but not least, pose for picture with piece of paper that proves this abomination is, indeed, your creation.

Similar issue, clicking outside the frame used to close it, that behaviour doesn't work for me anymore. Clicking left or right of it works fine, but underneath doesn't anymore.

MaGoHi reacted to Demonic God in Birthday Cooking Quest!
Well... I pushed him to make this quest, and god forbids me from not submitting an entry into a cooking quest!
So I present:
The Runny Chocolatey Brownie of Addiction!
Ingredients:
8 Winderwild eggs (preferably the unfertilized unhatch-able chicken-like kind). Replace with Angien Eggs if you're filthy rich without a moral compass. Replace with Drachorn Eggs if you have a death wish. Just not Elemental Eggs *glares at Fyrd* Butter, two sticks. I have no idea how you'd even find them, perhaps Taurion might know where you can get some. Sugar, about 1.2 cups. Crushing some candy canes should do niceeely. Some flavorful herbs. I've heard they're called "vanilla". Maybe you can find them with a herb basket. Maybe you can't. Coffee extract. Or powder. Or Espresso if you're fancy. Popular with lab researchers. Perhaps you should visit the Golemus lab to find out more. Or not. I can't promise you won't be turned into an experiment. Flowers! Wait, no, flour! Go rob MaG, he collected a ton! Wait, no, that's still flower. Erm, perhaps the Golem Mill might have some? Anyway, you need 2 cups of this stuff. Salt. This shouldn't be hard to find. Could even bully someone and harvest their tears for their salt content! Or blood, blood is pretty salty too, right? CHOCOLATE! 1 bar (better be dark chocolate, 70%). Ask your date on Valentine. What, no date? Well, at least that would take care of your salt issues! Cocoa powder. 0.4 cup. Don't snort them. They may be addictive, but not THAT type of addictive. Utensils and an oven. A whip, mixing bowl, container bowls, a pot, spatula, measuring cups, baking tray, parchment paper. If you feel like this is a bit NSFW, you're thinking of the wrong type of whip. Steps
Chop the chocolate. Doesn't matter how, they'll get melted later. Thin flakes makes it easier to melt, but not too thin, else it'll melt on the chopping board Put the butter into a small pot, and heat it slowly to a boil. Don't burn it. Crack 4 eggs into the mixing bowl. Separate the yolk from the remaining 4. Also put them into the bowl. Do whatever with the extra whites. Whip the eggs together, until harmonious. As harmonious as Ledah and MaG were when they schemed to kill Granos. Slowly pour the boiling butter over the egg, whipping vigorously to prevent the egg from cooking Put the chocolate into the hot mix, and whip some more. No, not BDSM style. Whip til the choco melts into a nice blend! Put in the vanilla, coffee extract, sugar crushed candy canes, cocoa powder, and salt, and continue mixing Put in the flour! Make sure to pick off the pedals... wait, no, that's flower again, urg! Make sure the flour don't clump, use your hand, a strainer, whatever. Now, get rid of the whip and use a spatula to fold the mixture together. The longer you mix, the chewier the final brownie will get Put your parchment paper over your baking tray. Some oil could be used to help it stick. Some trimming and folding can make things looks nice. Some social skill may help with that valentine chocolate. Just sayin :3 Pour the mixture into the tray. Put into oven. This is a very complicated step. No, really, it varies a LOT based on your equipment. Usually I'd say half an hour at around 220 Celsius. Or 493.15 for you weirdos with a Kelvin oven. Personally, I pour half. Bake for ~7 minutes. Pour remaining half. Bake for 8. Cover with foil. Bake for another 5-10 minutes. This is the result of repeatedly experimenting with my oven, which is technically not even an oven! You'll need to tinker a lot to get a just-right result to your liking. Including with ingredients. Take it out. Wait. Wait longer. Wait til it stop smoking, I don't care how good it smell damnit! Cut and enjoy. With tea. Or coffee. Depending on how "cultured" you are Why this makes me happy
I've been using this recipe a lot. Tinkered with it, a lot. Changed multiple steps. Tried multiple techniques. Baked dozens.
The thing is - I also barely ate any. This is a treat I make for family. Friends. Guests. I do like sweet, and I love what I made, but what makes me happy is to see others enjoys it (and choke on that sweet, sweet calories!). I'm still tweaking it batch-by-batch. The process of making, the experimentation, and most of all, the joys and appreciation, is what makes this dish special.
So, while I'd love to have the MD community try it some day, the best I could do is to post pictures here
These pics may have come from 3 different batches that I made in the past week - I recently tested the double baking process (that also changed a lot of the steps). It's just one improvement of, what I hope to be, many more in the future

MaGoHi reacted to Syrian in What are heat veins?
heat veins are a set of directions that point out of a scene in a specific direction, they require an item called a toy skateboard to move around on. they can be quite difficult to get as the item requires a lot of different items to make. there might be some fun surprises if you can somehow get your hands on one ,but they are not required to play the game and access most of the normal areas.
