  4. @apophys: [spoiler] [/spoiler] Get MP3s into alliances ? you must be joking. Maybe you're not smacking everything just because you can but then ... you are one of a few. Forbidding MP3 from alliances was for their own protection and part of the "growing up" process. Unfortunately, this "improve MP3 gameplay" comes not due to restrictions for MP3s but due to lack of MP3 players. If you are willing and you can keep up 2-3 MP3 alts just for the others to "train" with you ... you don't need permission nor our approval. Just do it. My proposal, which I doubt you tried to understand, is not about creating NPCs just for the fun of having some, but for a purpose : for learning. I don't think i get your problem. You are new (and that is ok), but you will not be talked directly (a.k.a. approached) unless you initiate the discussion (most of the time). Maybe someone should tell you that you can also "ask" without needing "help" but it is all up to you. In the end ... we all appreciate an open & creative mind ;)
  5. Even if I like Miq's idea on having a method to return to a certain place, I agree with Chewett on this: Also, teleport spells ... I don't get them, it is easy to travel to most places and there are lots of AP boosts to help you get where ever you want. Not to mention the cartography skill (about 18 easy ones to pick) combined with the low level of viscosity (maxed at 20 instead of 40). True, I am lazy myself (most of the times) but still, the means to travel already exist and it is quite easy. ------------- Now, back on topic. As I said, I find the idea quite nice. If the "return" spell would be implemented, I'd like it to be something like 1 use / day (reset at midnight) or expired in about 3 hours , max 3 or 4 uses regenerable uses, and 3 returns for each location set. Also, I'd like it to be given for free based on an achievement (smth like : nb of days - 1 year achievement + First research deapth (Explorer) - at least 80 locations uncovered + carthography - over 10 or 15 + max AP over 150) even if those are easy ones. This achievement based "rewards" would be the start of a new stage of rewarding.
  6. I don't agree with using alts (as from Sasha's summary) below. [spoiler] [/spoiler] Alts are prone to abuse and are limited to a player's availability to guard them / keep them up & configured. Good points Ary. [spoiler] [/spoiler] For MP3s ... there are already available some solutions, they just need some tuning (if Mur did his job properly :D). I am talking about MP2's empty aramors. It could be made / adjusted for MP3 to make them a kind of NPCs. Considering the "requirements"/"needs" of an MP3 to learn to fight, there should be a few adjustments so that : - a max number of mp3 NPCs should be defined (lets say 20) as to make a max of number of MP3s in MD (players or NPCs) at one time equal to that. - once an NPC is defeated, a new one should be spawned in a different location in NML - the necesary MP3 NPCs should be managed by a little AI ;) like : -> when an MP3 gets logged in, a random NPC gets logged out -> when an MPC gets logged out, a random NPC gets logged in -> at a certain time of day, the NPCs get refreshed (all log out, compute necessary MP3s, log random NPCs as required) - each NPC should have stats honor & VE/VP of the attacker - the NPCs are fixed (configurable from an interface) having static defense ritual - the papers of the NPC should contain 2 information : -> exactly the ritual that it has in defense (maybe a list or a printscreen with details) with crits and targets and -> some hints (smth like: "When would you be safe from a multiple attack?" ) And we even have some experts on combat tournament that could do this kind of job , see the combat winners of this and previous years. And there should not be required more then 50 such NPCs. I agree that these NPCs should not be use if the requirements for passing to MP4 are met. I mean that - if the number of wins/loses are met, no new win/lose is registered on player of creatures, just the heat (meaning that the stats won while winning are not granted either) - if the heat is achieved, no new heat is generated. This way, there will always be a sufficient pool of MP3s and it is fit for small & large number of players.
  7. From my point of view, there are just 1 (ONE) kind of information that should not be thoroughly detailed : quest walk-through. Otherwise I see no point in not sharing all the information. Yea Z, but we cannot live in Dark Ages because someone did something in the past. That is why time is being lived : to experiment and adapt and adjust. If there is something that was proven wrong/bad, then you can forbid it. But currently everything is out of touch. Where would we be in RL if no information would ever be shared ? Wouldn't we be still in Dark Ages ? I know that for some, even simple Math is difficult and head hurting, but DD, I don't understand why we are strict on spoilers.Care to spoil this to me ? I promise that I will not be upset for you spoiling this for me. Errata : There is another kind of information that should not be release: RP stuff (aka invented stuff).

  10. Where's That Hat ? The viscosity is at 20 for the moment . It is already lowered. Everyone that has more then 3 months already has quite a large number of cartography stats if not 20 and above. How low do you want to get it ? Lowering viscosity on all MD has been done before and there is no real issue (i guess). But what you propose is to allow some other ppl to fiddle with how MD is working. You want to entrust some administrative (GM like) tasks to random players (that are not Chewett). Even if that seems interesting ... I would recommend to think twice on that. Also, there have been quests (something like chasing ... my HDD/head is bad) where there was no viscosity lowering by any admin. If there is will there is a way even if it is just brute force. In short: this idea for lowering viscosity has no viable reason. --------------------------------- While we are discussing about viscosity : why was not the viscosity raised back to +40 ?

  14. Dude, you are incorrigible .... to say the least. Ok, formulate your question like this : I (DD) am not dead and I find out that Dst is dead and she managed to get to Berserker's Charge without having spent that WP. What would you say ? I (no one) would say that you(DD)'ll say : "She has no wright to be there, this is a bug ..." bla bla bla ... and it will be correct (take into consideration what was said with the death and TC). I on the other side will say this : how the friendly foe did you manage to move ? being dead shouldn't forbid you to move ? PS: as I remember those creatures don't cost more then a PM . There were numerous ppl that offered them for free.
  15. Can it be that the image is cached ? or ... what ? the chat is passed as a html / xml that contains exactly what should be in the chat. Images are not removed afterwards, they don't exits from the start ... as I know of. (I should check it later).
  16. This is just mean and you know it. We all know that MD is filled with bugs. Lets see how IaB explains / prove it. I too have some issues with MD. When it is running too long I have to refresh the page to make it run smoother. But I've always attributed this to the flash usage.

  19. So far you understood that this is possible. Good. You also agree that most of it should be forbidden (when it is still hard to define the advantages). The next thing to debate is : should we totally allow it or just forbid it completely ? (because there are way too few resources to manually check them all) And after that, maybe : how can we terminate this kind of abuse ? with the widespread idea , so far, that this cannot be stopped automatically. Other possibilities would be: Is locking the item shop for alts a real solution ? or Should common item trading be allowed (with the restriction that you already payed 5-10$ in other shops) ? (after all, as some state, they are payed for/won/whatever) So ? what is on your mind ?

I wonder how can you identify all of this and I am talking about this case: Player A1 wants item X from A2 so ... he will use player B( and player C and .... as many as he can deal with) like this : A2 - sells X to B B - sells X" to A1, where X" is identical but not the same as X in this case, B would know what's he doing. Now, lets do the same without B knowing : A1 "borrows for a few days" X" from B a few days later, B will receive a CTC with Item X by PM from A1 (the CTC would be from A2). Now, can you tell me how can you identify this ? Unless I make daily item dumps and check old transactions ... I fail to see how this can be done.

  24. I did use the page between yesterday 10PM and today 2AM and worked fine. Anyway, if you look at the link you will notice this : ...php?r=r5gN2GTiUt-nmLP_y5lDFw , meaning that it is encoded. I guess that it has some time coded into it. With that in mind, having one failure ... could happen but 3 no (due to refresh). ---- Unless Chewett or Mur can decode that link and also have a log of the actions ... I doubt they can do more without any other error logs.

[spoiler] [/spoiler] 1. so , this will actually be a spell (even if a created one) 2. why not make something special like "blinding the entire scene" meaning that when the "egg" is broken all the players in the scene (owner included) go blind. That would be interesting 3. the movement should be just to the available(/valid) adjacent areas Otherwise, this sounds fun :D Question: who can create this egg ? will it be a clickie (available to all) or another set of "shared" items / cauldrons ? a. I would prefer the clieckie. b. drop the ritual, just request/add the ingredients --------------------- Edit: when blind ... should have increased AP for anything (you are supposed to blind, don't you ?)
