Z..... I totally agree with you. Again, I am not trying to justify the actions done, nor am I saying one should not take offence. (Z, please do not take offence if I am not as offended as you are) The point that I have always been trying to make is that different people have different levels of sensitivities. If I say F*** You as a joke, but you got hurt by me, though it is not my intention to hurt, it is only appropriate for me to apologise. Again, MD is an international community with different cultures and understanding and definitions of words being used. All I am saying is that, react to offending words, fine, its ones right to do so, but I am asking for restrain as the offender who utters that word might have a different understanding of it. Z made a good point when he said that his friends who practices alternative lifestyle will froth at the mouth at the use of that word, but those that practices alternative lifestyle from my country doesnt. See.... different cultures, different sensitivities. The history and stats and facts are only relevant to those from the same culture. I am not asking that offensive words be allowed. Just asking that when we are faced with an offensive word, deal with it diplomatically and try not to get too emotional about it. I have insulted people by calling them a bastard, and they just laugh it off, but when I call them stupid, they get real offended. We will never know people's reaction to certain terms. Its obvious Z is passionate about the term used, but should I apologise if I am not as passionate. MD is not about me or any one individual. Its a growing community that is slowly developing its own personality. Even now we have different alliances that has their own personality, it would be normal that when personalities get stronger, they will try to dictate others to follow suit. Hence, we get wars, takeovers and squabbles. Let's agree to disagree. Rather then finding someone new to do that task, why not expand the forum moderators to include PLs. I trust the moderators to know whats right and wrong for the forum, and I would extend that trust that they would know whats offensive and whats not in PLs. Btw, I asked some of my friends who are practising alternative lifestyle about the post by DR and they are indifferent. They are curious though why is so many people finding it offensive, when they themselves find that it is not. They find that it is more offensive that the public at large have to keep jumping to their defence and trying to be politically correct as it is painting them to be a community who is narrow minded and sensitive. Their advice, if you are not practicing an alternative lifestyle, stop trying to defend their sensitivities. *wink*

Here, here..... I agree with Jester. Lets give players the ability to delete posts in their PL that they do not like. Btw, my apologies to those that were offended by my posts earlier. Wasnt saying that the posts are right, but am saying that what one finds offensive might be normal for others. And I would be offended if MD starts a moral police to start telling everyone what is offensive and what is not. Give the option to delete by the players and that should solve the problem. *wink*

The point is, if there is a remark made in the PL that we are not happy with (whether it concerns one's sexuality, genitals, mom or family members, pets or favorite positions with a sheep) what are our options besides arguing about it with the player who posted it. DR says that he will delete that post from poe's PL. Can we safely say the issue is dead or should we discuss options available?

With an international community like MD, there is bound to be interaction problems. Lets look at the sentence posted. "You give fags a bad name." This implies that Phantorm Orchid is practising an alternative lifestyle and is doing a bad job of it. So, is the offensive part the use of the word "fag" or the fact that Phantom Orchid is doing a bad job of it? If the word fag is replaced by another term that is more politically suitable like "same gender friendly" or "straight challenged" would it appease everyone? Would anyone be offended if I were to say "You give guys a bad name" or "You give girls a bad name"? Maybe some would be, and to be honest if someone were to post in my PL "You are a c**k sucking a**hole who cries like a little gal", I would be more amused than offended. I am not saying what Death Ray is doing is right, as he seems to consistanly be doing something wrong. But I am more interested to know how does one judge what is offensive to everyone? A code of conduct? Whose standard shall we use? Only positive logs in PL? And if negative? Whats the bar? How far can I insult a player in his PL before it gets taken off? This is a sensitive road that one is threading, be careful what you wish for. BTW, is this offensive? Of course this could be due that I am a friend and they dont mind. They do not view that word by itself offensive, but rather the context that it was used in.

Allegations of wrong doing by both party is never good. Mur has decided based on his findings but Amoran claims differently. Hmmmmm..... This thread is suppose to be about RPC's role in HC but since you ask..... I regret that I did not save our conversation at Madman's Trial. When I question you hunting players down for heads, you dared me to bring this up to Mur and saying that Mur knows what you are doing and supports what you do. In the adult world, this is called name dropping. I actually believed you and resigned to the fate that you will try to mess the HC up. But when you start giving your heads to..... And when on YM I told her that I will not give way to let her win, I can actually see you rushing towards me..... You took my heads and again give it all to her. You actually hunted for me when I was near her trying to get her heads. I guess I must apologize for calling you a dog. Dogs should not be insulted. It is not your fault that you are weak of mind as she is known to be manipulative. And if you still have no idea who your real master is.... I no longer feel angry for what you did, but I feel sorry for you. My apologies to all who have to read my rantings. It is not my intention to hurt anyone's feelings, but I am still trying to get over the bitterness of losing to a RPC. HC is not fair, and I am just being idealistic to think that a RPC will not lie to me and do something else later. This thread is to hopefully ensure that the next HC the same incident will not happen to other players who wants to play HC.

Thank you..... Pamps said it aptly. I agree the HC is tough and unfair. But to play the HC and have a RPC single mindedly hunting you is waayyyyy out of hand. (I dont mind what MRD is doing coz he just attacks everyone on the board, but to be singled out?) When I was a LHO, i didnt train, didnt recruit but just concentrated on my role as LHO. (Some say I am stupid but I call it dedicated to the responsibility given) I was kicked out when I started to RP and I realised I cannot play both roles effectively. (I didnt complain but instead moved on) It is an honor to be a RPC, a LHO or an admin for MD. So.... be a RPC, hold your heads high, be respected, do justice to the responsibility given. Most of the RPC is doing a great job, lets not allow 1 or 2 bad apples tarnish the respected role of a RPC. PS: Yes, you are giving RPCs a bad name and stop hiding behind Mur and keep saying Mur supports what you are doing. I dont believe that Mur supports the idea of 1 of his RPC being someone's running dog.

That brings up a whole can of worms. RPCs who were not on the winner's list can compete but cannot win. MRD has won it before but he still taking heads. Tarquinus has won it before he cannot take heads. How does this work? PS: So full of yourself that you need a dedicated thread to talk about yourself? True, I did ask for Raven's heads, this is coz that was my first time going for HC and I didnt know about the RPC's status. Well, no point in crying over spilled milk. This thread is not about Raven being a hipocrite and a blight to the goodname of other RPCs (though it would be nice to have that in his tag so that nobody gets caught by surprise, Chaos Bringer and Confirmed Hipocrite) Anyways, is the RPC getting heads a bug or is something that is sanctioned by Mur. That is the question that begs to be answered.

Well, the last HC, two RPC got involved. Raven and MRD. Both of them is known to disrupt the HC all the time. I guess that is the unfair in the HC. I understand MRD do what he does coz he doesnt make any reasons or excuses for what he is doing. He just disrupts because he can. What ticks me off is when in the beginning of HC (I ask Raven if I can have his heads) Raven told me that RPC cannot help players in HC and he is in it to make the players tougher. He is the chaos bringer and Mur supports his role. I have no choice but to accept it. Then Raven goes and gives all his heads to Amoran, hunt me down and takes all my heads and gives it all to Amoran, making sure all competition is eliminated for Amoran. I guess he was not just playing a chaos bringer but also a hypocrite. The last HC, I lost to Raven, not to Amoran. I guess I would not be this pissed if Raven never said anything about RPC cannot help players in HC. I know that HC is unfair, but for a RPC to lie and double cross, it is sad coz a RPC should conduct themselves in a more dignified manner. I feel a RPC should be above politics, not by becoming someones pet to go hunting. My apologies if my words offend anyone, but it still stings to know that a RPC can lie in your face and does not feel guilty about it. I accept my second place, but can Raven accept that he has tarnish the rep of RPCs who are suppose to be respected.

I used to face the same problem. I ignored it before cause I was not into questing. After finding the joys of questing, this is what I did to ensure that the page shows its message. Clear cookies and watever that can be cleared. It might happen again once or twice, but after clearing 2 to 3 times, the problem should stop.

I am indifferent. I dun mind having an aura on PG but its still cute to look at without one.

Alt is a way of life for some players right now. Those who doesnt, is slowly learning. Maybe there will come a day when its not acceptable, but until that day comes, enjoy it. You have to admit, seeing Snow White with her Seven Dwarfs online in MD will bring a smile to anyone's face.
