A new set of rules Announcement 3554
Aeoshattr replied to Blackshade Rider's topic in Join the MD Development Team
I am interested in rewriting or phrasing rules, rather than effectively designing new ones. Please feel free to contact me for help specifically for phrasing or "finesse" rather than devising rules from scratch. :) -
My question still stands, who sponsors the 10th Anni aramor? I do not see it mentioned or listed anywhere else.
-
Who's awarding the 10th Anni aramor? And are we supposed to nudge Mur for the 3SC we each receive?
-
Considering the ID, probably not that old. I have a Remains from 2-ish days ago with ID 836555 and I'm gonna guess it doesn't take more than 1 month for 300 creatures to be recruited.

Ermagerd I tried drawing a different pose! No hands because I can't draw hands. Or faces. Figured since I drew The Sixth, I could just as well draw The Fifth. Here you go folks.

Awesome artwork I'm seeing! I would participate myself, but I have no chance of doing anything until after the 2nd of June. EDIT: I can try drawing on the 31st. I'll see. Don't extend the deadline just for me :)
-
Solution is simple. Give me the wishpoints, I'll take good care of them and won't mind if they break my WP page! :P

This was about a greentext (not the 4chan kind) little story going on a couple of weeks ago - I.E. the RP and its results were announced through that sort of green text Chewie sometimes uses to make global announcements. 4 Orb Quadrants were revealed to 4 players. The story is, so far, concluded. I would love it being turned into a brief AL chapter, however it is not for me to decide and I am unaware of the purpose behind this little story as of yet.
-
Since I am obviously studying and not drawing... here's what I drew last night. Methinks it's a pretty good reference for "The Sixth"

Sketchy sketch is sketchy. Also noodle hands. The things I do instead of studying. I need an intervention.

I really lack the energy to get into a fully coherent argument, I'll just make some bullet points. You guys fill in the blanks. Stat damage, IMO, should be only an extreme form of punishment. Why? People either work really hard for their stats or dump a considerable amount of $$ to obtain said stats. In either case, it is something that shouldn't just be swatted away "because reasons". If you had spent say... 50-100$ to obtain the rusties and use all the stat boosters in the shop, only to have it all taken away because... let's say the warden thinks it's a monstrous offense that you said poo (the "offensive" version that I'm not allowed to type on the forums). Not very nice, is it? Judges are meant to "judge" AND deliver punishment. It's their role and I don't think there's a need for a warden? you could argue instead that the some of the judges are (sadly, if you ask me) not around as much anymore. Prison itself seems like a pain in the bumhole anyway, and as far as I know it's not too difficult to break out. Adding a warden to forcibly keep you in and make it even more miserable for you is just a bit excessive, if you ask me. is it going to scare people? Maybe. Is it going to pointlessly make things hard for people who get into jail for lesser reasons? More likely. The benefit isn't worth the risk if you ask me. I like the idea of a Warden like a sort of Molquert. A person there to help "guide" and "reform" a criminal rather than harden them. Any added punishment should, IMO, go by the judges first and kind of invalidates the need for a warden in that sense.

Longing Just how long have you been waiting for that one last sip?... Loneliness Each of us is alone in their own pot of earth... but with no other pots around, who will catch our leaves when they fall? Insecurity When your own face haunts you and grasps at you from each reflection... Peace Take a sip. Lie to yourself that it will all pass. Bask in the warm aroma and wish you never have to take that one last sip.

The Fifth: Date&Time: Friday, 15th of May, 22:00 ST Location: Wind's Crossing (MB) Topic: A more detailed story on Aeoshattr's fifth great pain (in the realm of MD) - Association with Marind Bell. LOGS
Aeoshattr: *clears his throat* I remember telling you, last time, how the Fourth ended with the little lamb leaving the forest - as no longer a lamb. MaGoHi:yes Aeoshattr:Indeed he left as no longer a lamb - and the story of the Fifth starts with death. Aeoshattr:Oddly enough *smirks* Aeoshattr:The death itself would be... cumbersome to fully explain, as it was no true death in the first place. Aeoshattr:Alas, the Fourth had to "shed" most of his being as he left - leaving him a wandering spirit. Aeoshattr: *paces around slowly* And as he aimlessly wandered around No Man's Land, drifting where his home had been for a long time... Aeoshattr: *turns his head to Lin* She saw him. Aeoshattr:He didn't know her - not by her face, not by her name. But he knew her by heart. Remembering little from his days in the forest, but still "feeling" those connected to it. Aeoshattr:And indeed, while she was not a Lorerootian herself, she had spent many days in the company of a reputable Knight. Lintara: *stands and offers Aeo her hand* Come with me, stranger. You look weary, mayhaps the holy hands will heal you. Aeoshattr: *half smiles, wandering closer to Lin* And the ghastly man followed, as he had little purpose left in him. Aeoshattr:To Marind it was! Aeoshattr:Within a few days, after spending time by the fountain and sharing stories, the spirit felt the need for a body once more. Aeoshattr:And in a rather gruesomely cold fashion, a sacrifice was quickly prepared by the Gazebo of Chaos. Aeoshattr:Neither of the two gave it much thought - however, the spirit would find the flesh unsuitable. His nature and that of the flesh were not the same. Aeoshattr: *sits down by Lin, looking fatigued* It ached and struggled against him, it decayed against his will - and the more he Willed, the quicker it fell apart. Aeoshattr reaches up to hold one of Lin's hands Lintara: *nods, holds his hand, settles down by him and points to Wind's Sanctuary* We lived there for a while. And we tried to live happily Aeoshattr: *nods and smiles* For a while, we did. But the flesh kept revolting, and soon feverish dreams began to haunt the man. Aeoshattr:Bits and pieces from a past long forgotten - even now, the bits and pieces are what I have. Aeoshattr:Dreams of hunting and punishment for his ancient crime - stealing the Knife. Aeoshattr:And in a bizarre way, as time moved, the dreams became more and more real: he would often wake up fatigued, bruised, away from the Sanctuary. Aeoshattr:Until one day, he was gone - without a trace. In the middle of his sleep, the dreams had taken him. Aeoshattr:Days passed, one after the other, and gone he was. Lintara: *sighs* Meanwhile I kept waiting there for him. I waited and waited... Lintara:Slowly, *starts glancing at Sunfire, a small smile appearing on her face* someone else started catching my eye... *Sunfire* smiles Lintara: *chuckles* Oh, I waited a little longer for Him. *grumbles* But he continued to show good luck at not showing up. And so *slowly lets go of Aeo's hand and reaches for Sunfire* . Aeoshattr lets go of Lin's hand, stepping away, encircling the crowd, hiding behind the tree and emerging after a few moments Lintara tickles Sunfire under the chin, pulling closer to him, suddenly notices Aeo and gasps, pulling back a bit Aeoshattr:And just as the feverish dream wore off, casting the poor man back into his old home, he lived to see the one he grew fond of in the arms of another. Aeoshattr:The Will to keep his flesh together, the Purpose that had guided him - were all cleansed and purged, burning into a single Purpose, which to this day defines the Fifth. Aeoshattr:Vengeance. Aeoshattr:But not vengeance upon the innocent man who fell for the maiden - no. Vengeance upon her, for leaving him at his weakest. Aeoshattr starts walking slowly but firmly towards Lin Lintara steps back, glancing about as though terrified, raises her claws at him Aeoshattr:But faced with her once more, in spite of the Vengeance within him, he hesitated - and a moment was all it took. Aeoshattr stands in front of Lin for a moment, before making a lunge at her, but instead seemingly impaling himself on her claws Lintara stares at him terrified and heartbroken, making sure to keep her breathing frequent as though she's terrified Aeoshattr: *slumps down on his knees in front of her* And thus, he shattered once more. Falling by the hands of one he loved, as one he loved once fell by his own hands. Aeoshattr:And the circle of Five was thus completed - the one that emerged after the Fifth was... out of place. Which I'll talk about next time. Aeoshattr: *stands and bows to Lin* Since most of you might now know "her" - she was named Magistra. Aeoshattr:And I believe the "lucky man" *nods at Sunfire* was Vertu. But my memory from those days has faded more than the rest, it would seem. Lintara: *curtsies and chuckles* You are correct Aeo. Aeoshattr:And that was the Fifth. Aeoshattr:As always... thank you all for coming to listen to my ramblings. MaGoHi is not sure if applauding to a sad story is appropriate Zleiphneir gives aeo a funny look and nods slowly [Spell] so whats that buzz Tree?
TL;DR
Following Magistra's lead, Aeo joins Marind Bell - only to be deceived after a very brief absence, thus ending a "cycle of five" and causing him to leave Marind Bell.
"Washing the taint" - Wishpoint quest
Aeoshattr replied to Jubaris's topic in Contests, Quests and Adventures
Though being a Necrovian myself and also not having a comprehensive grasp of the said "Taint", I shall have an attempt at this. I may be awfully wrong or awfully right. (I.E. No harm in trying, I suppose). "What you need" Gazebo of Silence - Though potentially a bit obscure, the purpose is the symbolism in the name: Silence, which in my mind simplistically implies "no sound". No sound can be fairly poetically interpreted as "no Wind" - which is the main purpose. Mineral Water - Again, fairly symbolic - Mineral Water is generally found in the "depths" and is considered "filtered" through earth, thus incorporating two elements (to an arguable extent). Heat stones (x5) - What could possibly be done without heat? And even more, how could anything be "reversed" without expending energy? Heat will therefore be needed. Syntropic Dust - Last but most certainly not least... Syntropy! Reversal of what may (or may not!) be viewed as an increase in disorganisation. To reverse the Taint, one must expend energy and also make use of the principle of Syntropy. The Shroud of Night (nightmode) - Maybe a bit controversial, but again, this is included mostly for its poetic value - nobody can purify you, you have to purify yourself. And what better way to be alone than Nightmode? To face your own fears, pain and anguish - and to be consumed, or emerge pure. Procedure The ritual takes place at the Gazebo of Silence and involves a preparatory period: An entire Day must pass in Silence. The one to be purified must be at peace with their decision and remain quiet (in-chat!) for a period of 24 hours, as to not upset the quietness. Once the preparatory period has passed, the five Heat stones must be placed as follows: 1 towards each of the 4 corners of the Gazebo and one to be held by the person itself. The person bathes in Mineral water - unleashing a first wave of heat, to steam off the water and crystallise the dissolved minerals in their skin. The heat must be promptly prayed away in silence. The only sounds must be those of mineral water splashing and steaming away. The second wave of heat must be released - this time, right before entering the Night. Again, as the one in question falls into the darkness, they must pray the heat away in silence. Once the fading is complete, the Silence must be broken. The ritualist is allowed to let out a single scream - and as such, it must be carefully poised. There is no room for screaming without putting your full passion into it - you either shriek until you are sore, or the ritual is useless. The more passion, the more of "yourself" you put into it, the more you disturb the "Silence" and stir up the calmed Wind, the greater the odds of success. This step is crucial! One must pour all their anguish, all their suffering, all that which taints them into the scream. The preparatory Silence should be used to meditate on what the ritualist believes is tainting them, so that it might be focused into the scream. As the Wind is fully stirred, the last step is upon the ritualist. The last heat wave is released, but this time, it is not prayed away. This time, the heat is meant to be used to subdue the stirring Wind, using any necessary method. Failure to subdue one's Wind before all the heat fades will result in failure - and future attempts will prove increasingly difficult. Combat, spells, items may be used - there are no rules, other than those that your own mind imposes on its own. There is nobody to judge the fight between you and yourself other than... you. Should the ritual be successful, the newly accomplished state of purification must be sealed in, by using the Syntropic Dust. The Dust will be used to draw a simple circumpunct on the forehead of the ritualist, to symbolise a crowning of the achievement and will be "sealed in" by praying all remaining heat - the more the better. The ritual must be completed with another period of Silence - to not stir Entropy and to allow the Syntropic reversal to fully settle in. One full hour of Silence is required, during which Syntropy must be demonstrated: a silent prayer at each pillar of the Gazebo, followed by cleansing the Gazebo of whatever the ritual might have stained it with, to leave it as pristine as before. All remaining materials must be gathered and the Gazebo must be left in Order. Ending Statements I relied on some of my own personal symbolic references, along with a few assumptions of what might be Tainting an individual - hopefully the symbolism will be interpretable not only by myself and will be deemed suitable. -

Happy Birthday Eagle Eye

Happy birthday EE! :) -
Curi, I'm genuinely sorry, but I can't simply ignore your posts as I believe they are potentially dangerous and harmful and I would not want the ideas to catch on. Take that however you will. I will argue below:
-
We want the AL back! RIOT! RIOT!

Creatures in main post gone. I also have two 10th Anniversary Aramors for sale - contact me via PM if interested. Not listing prices here mainly in order to not influence the bidding currently happening too much. Sold!

This I disagree with (and I believe I actually had a bit of an outburst at poor Grido about it...) I think one should be able to say "I think person X would think/feel/believe this". The only circumstances under which I agree with this being wrong is if the statement is some form of calumny or atrociously rude/defaming affirmation. If I say "I believe person X would dislike what person Y (general you) just did." then it's fine. Whether person X would actually "dislike" what person Y (general you) said is up to them and up to you to determine. If I say "I believe person X thinks you are the most worthless piece of scum on the face of the Earth." then yes, that should not be allowed - whether person X is of that opinion or not. I.E. strong statements like are potentially dangerous and harmful with no basis. I can say that a specific person would think or believe something as long as I am within margins of decency and not offending either of the involved parts. I don't see any harm in anyone saying "I think player X feels/does/wants Y". If you want to determine whether I am speaking the truth or not, you can do that yourself. The only circumstance in which I 100% agree with there being severe punishment is calumny/defaming.

Is this a bid? If so, 1G 5SC

Probably not as much as some other people but I'm pretty proud (in a way) of my progress today (~200 of the attack value came from a sacrifice though):

Can I butt in and ask why, in general, you can't put angien eggs in rituals? They have an ability they could theoretically use and they have more than enough VE to be reasonable to put in a ritual... I'm being greedy and asking because they require quite a bit of age to level up to a combat stage in the first place, and then they require quite a lot of wins to further level, and it would be quite convenient to be able to casually carry an egg in your rituals to gather wins and heat as it ages and gets ready to hatch. Just a thought - potentially unpopular opinion.
