1. The whole MD awards as an event. The concern that people will vote for whom they like rather than whom they think truly deserves to win is very present for this event in the last several years. I think that we should drop trying to bend the rules to try, in our eyes, limiting nepotism in voting - why? Well, because the event is devized as "whole MD votes", pushing the votes in a certain direction is against that concept. If a person 'truly' deserves to win a category, no friend votes will stop the person from winning it. There are no players that would get half of MD population to vote for them on the soul reason that they like the candidate, and if I am mistaken, then the actual event shouldn't be held, in the first place.
2. Hmmm... How about you keep the categories, add the villain one because of the tradition of the reward, and just add another voting option - "Nobody should get it this year"? It should be put in a non-offending context towards the candidates, though. That way we don't brutaly destroy tradition to adapt to lower numbers of population, we do it more smoothly by just putting some sections in a temporary stasis, by the 'opinion of the people', which is what this manifestation is all about.
3. Well... If you are really keen on shrinking the amount of categories, I guess Golden Protector should be the one for you to target, because MD's population decreased and it can only support two protectors, so it comes to voting whether player 1 or player 2 wins it. Not that I would mind if everything stays the same as last year.
4. Happy birthday muchaco! :D Sve najbolje!
5. 7 silvers - Princ Rhaegar
6. It would be easy to farm negative stats indeed, but to a point: - If too much people farm negative stats, there's nobody to 'make' those negative stats for them - Few numbers of active drug resources makes it very hard to satisfy several people with negative stats often. Shift your stats for 2-3 days in 2-3 months, I think that should be the ratio for an average negative stats farmer. To maximize your 'fighter' time, you need to acquire as much as drug as possible, meaning you have to buy the drug, meaning you need to do something else to earn money to buy it... Sounds stimulating to me. :) The key is in drug being in few numbers, and perhaps with a time deadline to use before it expires.
7. More and more I am getting convinced that the existence of such drug-consumable would lit the activity fire. Other than the general gathering of people due to 'training dummies', those several people that would farm negative stats would get temporary chances to be strong fighters, lands could use them as mercenaries during torch competition, it would stimulate new roles. Drug resource would be of essential strategic importance, it would stimulate the 'economy' of MD as well, and all this without a new radical feature that just makes the game more complicated, no, this feels like a natural development.
8. The drug should be temporary and not-that-easy-to-get (but still relatively accessible for the point to work), so it's not something people should rely on and get encouraged to lose stats. Now about its point - it's more of a desperate's straw: I see it more as a path for those people in skill damage to use their current situation. Lot of people went into negative stats because they idled in the open and got kicked around, or because Eon attacked them too much. This would encourage THEM to be around, rather than hide or demotivate themselves for going into negative stats, as if their whole "players' life" was ruined. It might even stimulate MD's activity :D Imagine 5 people wanting to use that situation, and they decide to idle whole months at GoE to gain negative stats. People see them idling, and come gather to get some wins off them, enjoying a decent farm rather than empty GoE during half a day. People gather and talk. Activity, life! :D The possibilities are endless when there is activity. (some effects should be added so it dont get pointless. for instance, you are not in skill damage while you're in the effect of drug)
9. In my head it would be called "Skooma" or "Moon-sugar" like in Elder Scrolls :)) Perhaps the item with this effect has already been brought up but... A consumable item that changes the "sign" of all of your stats for a good period of time (say several hours or days). Meaning, if you had 1500 attack, you would now have -1500. If you had -1500, you would now have 1500. It could make you addicted somehow if you keep using it as well, let's say get skilldamage if you don't use it again in X period... The periods would be such that you could gradually 'beat' the addiction by slowly taking it further and further away in time distance. But if you keep on recklessly taking it, it would be very hard to beat it.
10. Kind of a cliche but... Light and darkness. Darkness because it conceals, not because you can use concealment in your advantage, but because of the need for privacy and staying 'incognito', away from the attention of beings. Darkness is safety, a haven, and there you can create, think, progress, until you are ready to enter the light again, and eventually return to darkness in an never-ending circle of evolution. Light because it is energy, knowledge, truth, life.
11. All the best in your real life endeavours! Hope to see you around MD :)
12. Grassans, knators, heretic archers... Interested in all of that. There should be at least 8 tokens. PM me if you're interested in selling them.
13. 666 luck.
14. Every Monday, around 21:00h (server time), I will be at the Marble Dale Park. I am updating my quest papers, which should be done by Monday, introducing few new tasks, dedicated mostly for the players in their first few hundreds of activity days. Some of the quests/challenges that I develop will be 'playable' only during those gatherings. Rewards will be appropriate :) It would be lovely if other people would join in, participate and interact, perhaps create tasks and games of their own every now and then, in the spirit of MD birthday festivals. Marble Dale Park is the place where players end their story mode stasis, so I hope this to be the start of 'newb-stimulating'. Those evenings will also be a perfect opportunity for people to speak to me about anything in relation with the affairs of Marind Bell, I will be in a much better mood than I would be regulary. That's about it - comments and suggestions are welcome, hope to see you there!
15. Although some of the mentioned people aren't exactly inactive yet. Awiiya in his book of legends was careful to put only those that stopped playing.
16. Lifeline
17. Hope you'll get back to us soon, but don't return without a good poem about your odyssey! Haven't heard those from you in a while :)
18. Don't know will you read this, you haven't been much active, but I've seen you around so there's hope! :D Happy birthday Sparr!
19. Happy birthday guys! :) I expect two cakes!
20. Hey there Jorana :) I hope you're getting along since we spoke, here's an official forum welcome :)
21. I played around with those pop-ups, and I repeated couple of 'creature-recruiting' and 'messages' pop-ups, closing them on the "X" or the "close" button, and after a 4th or 5th time they got broken. Maybe it has something to do with how fast you close them, being too fast (relatively), breaks them because something hasn't loaded...? Edit: Well, it isn't speed... Tried opening messages twice in a row and waiting a while... Second time is broken already.
22. Happy birthday, send some cake! :)
